Long wait but food was great definitely worth a visit

Great food and service

Publican was rude, wasn’t taking walk in which is crazy blamed Covid that people should book tables was the only way to get table wasn’t busy when we got there stupid to think with all the traffic going to Dartmouth dam you wouldn’t be more accommodating and not so rude very unhappy.

My wife and I were camped nearby and we had lunch on the deck. Our 2 dogs were welcomed and the meals were great. Great hospitality.

Camped nearby at Katie Peters Reserve and Platypus Bend. … and rode our bikes to the pub.Friendly service was great. I asked for some local white wines. Got Mt Buff Sav Blanc and Bush Tracks Chardonnay as takeaway back to our motor home. Very nice wines as I love to buy local when I can. Great little spot. Magic front deck area with lovely views. Next time will try the food but was wrong time of day when we rode over. Lovely town.

Lovely country pub with great atmosphere. The food was nice and plenty of options at the bar. The pub is also family friendly. Would definitely recommend and return when we are next in the area.

Called in on the off chance of a feed, lunch was over, but we were treated to a lovely meal anyway.

Looks like a lovely pub wasnt open when I visited due to power outage but would definitely stop by next time

You would think over Easter that youd have more staff on to deal with the increased number of people who camp up there each year.

This place was the best place to stay to visit the Alpine region - especially for motorcycle enthusiasts. John and Cheryl are exceptional hosts who are very welcoming and the beds are great! The food was exceptional - especially the schnitzels, and make sure you try the delicious creamy mushroom sauce. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone. Will be back!

What a great place , called in for lunch , (flathead tails and chipswe were on a fishing trip.......you know the story.......any way great atmosphere, good service, good menu, Ill definitely be going again .

Ended up here by chance. We love our country pubs and enjoy a good feed and a chat. We got both here friendly service and great Pub meal. The owners extended their meal time to accommodate us when we rang ahead because we were running late for lunch. Thankyou so much Cheryl and John.

Had an amazing lunch here on the weekend. Parma was amazing and the chips were cooked to perfection. The staff were fantastic and we felt really welcomed. This is a bit of a hidden gem that we will definitely be returning too. It is ‘bike’ friendly - motorbike and cyclists. As motorcyclists it is positioned in the perfect spot for lunch before or after the twisties. Do yourself a favour and give this pub a go. You won’t be disappointed

We’ve been hanging out for the pub to open and we weren’t disappointed! Still takeaway food only but truly awesome pizza and parma.

Visited Eskdale Hotel for lunch. Rocked up after the owner had finished serving lunch, but she was nice enough to turn things back on and cook us up some fish and chips! Excellent service and delicious fish and chips. Great decor, had a very authentic feel! Everything a small rural pub should be!

Excellent Pub and family owned and run. Great value meal and cosy room with heater and electric blanket. Slept like a log.

Great people running it. Accommodation cold in winter even with a small oil heater and electric blanket. Central heating would be a great improvement. Good old fashioned hospitality by the patrons.

Went for tea on Australia day. The meal was very nice. But had to wait nearly 1 1/2 hours for it as they were very busy. We have eaten there previously and found the wait time much less.

I had a lovely evening with my friend at the pub. There was a shopping night on there for christmas. We bought a couple of things.If it was better advertised or known about it would of been better.But it was still lovely.

Lovely place with picturesque views and honest, hardworking owners and pleasant Staff. I left my bag there and came back for it next day - they had it, gave it back to me. Nothing was missing. The 4 stars because they did not let us on they outside area with a tiny dog saying it is for hygienic reasons. I travel excessively with my dog and have it in outside area of various pubs, coffee shops and restaurants and was NEVER told my dog is not allowed in the outside area. Sorry guys for country pub it is not good enough. Also they have not any exciting beers on a tab. Just only something like VB and XXXX. Time to get some nice craft beer
