Family Promise of Berks County in Berks County
Privilege
Family promise is a great resource for families in need. They provide so much support to families. I wish more people would know about his agency because they are a blessing to families with children. From hygiene items to housing support. They have a well organized program for families in need of independent living skids.I recommend this place
MoreI absolutely love Family Promise and they do everything they can to help families that are going through hard times. Miss Donna has become a wonderful mentor for myself and they were able to get us into temporary housing. We are not yet in our own home, but I have no doubt that we will get there in no time. If you’re a young single parent and need assistance.. don’t hesitate to go there. They make promises and they keep it.
MoreNO HELP AT ALLPrior to me getting my first home I reached out to Family Promise to see where I could be guided on receiving help. Since I was in the military, I got help via another program (not associated w. Family Promise). Over the past year and few months, I fell into a hole due to a mental breakdown because of stress. I was hospitalized, and resulted in me resigning from my job. I spoke w/ Lee Wilder who is the "Director" of this whole entire "program". I was nothing less than understanding and cordial in providing what was needed to qualify me for aid. The days kept passing and dwindling until my eviction notice. EVERYDAY I called Mr. Wilder. I emailed him. I spoke to his secretary NUMEROUS times. I got no response from him. Mr. Wilder is in a position to aid or not aid individuals in DIRE situations. NO ONE WANTS TO LOSE THEIR HOME!! I did and am still not in a good place. If I would have gotten the help to aid me ONE time, when I fell on my knees. What the place here for if THEY WONT HELP! I DONT KNOW HOW THIS IS A PLACE THE STATE RECOMMENDS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HELP!
