What a stunning site! We attended a planned meet up with over 50 other campervans and Fforest fields didnt disappoint. The facilities are great with a lovely cafe and shop. The staff are really welcoming, friendly and helpful and the views are stunning! All the camping amenities you need are well kept and were all functioning how they should. Well worth a visit..we will be back!

Lovely site, have camped previously in a tent, this was our 1st time in our motorhome. Lovely local sausages, just like I remembered. New addition of a cafe bar, we cant review, as we didnt catch it open, and didnt think to check the opening time. Some really nice walks, suitable for all abilities. Definitely worth a visit

Just left after a 5 night stay at this wonderful site! This has got to be one of the most relaxed campsites we have ever been to.The facilities are spotless! Showers are always hot and big cubicles so you can get dried in there properly. The setting of the site is perfect with endless beautiful walksLoved watching the red kites circlingThe lake is fantastic, will definitely bring a boat next time! The dogs loved swimming in there.Only 30 minutes drive to the Brecon Beacons too.We didn’t want to leave!Until next time!

We have just arrived home from this wonderful site , on arrival we were greeted and told we could pitch where we would like , toilets and showers were excellent. I know some do complain about the push button but it didn’t bother us , I had pre booked the pizza on the Friday which was really good , friendly atmosphere in the court yard , the cafe does some beers and ciders , the walks around the campsite are wonderful , we walked to the pub through woodland which was about 1.5 miles , lovely pub with friendly staff , my husband did some fishing but unfortunately no luck there , the campsite is very quiet and peaceful especially with the 1030 curfew on noise , the honest shop was great , we did go very organised but used it for fresh milk and bread ,, would highly recommend this place if your wanted a relaxing time away

A wonderful campsite with excellent facilities. Dog friendly and very reasonably priced. Situated in beautiful surroundings with its own lake that you can swim, paddle board or canoe in.A real family site, but lovely and quiet in the evenings. Some fab activities available over the course of the week too.The owners and their team are genuinely lovely and helpful. The cafe serves lovely snacks and a good variety of beverages.I cant wait to get back there.

Will be going back as it is so peaceful and even has a meditation hut. Sheep roam free in some of the county roads and the pizzas that you can order are amazing.

If you are camping the field you potentially can have some walk to the shower blocks toilets etc. 🚻 maybe you might be an idea to have a block built within that field. I also felt that its not adapted for large numbers of people. Seating area around the cafe. Overall a great place to visit, also Luke was very helpful and friendly. We will be back...

My family and I recently stayed here for a long weekend within the 6 week holiday. The place was easy to find, check-in was painless, we were happy with the pitch next to electric, and the water tape a short walk away which was ideal as the weather weve just had has been around 32 degrees so we were constantly going back and forth for refills. Toilets and showers were clean and tidy it does get busy so pick your times and you should be fine. We appreciated the quiet time on the site and everyone was adhering to them which was lovely. Very peaceful and some amazing views and walks. We ventured up to the top of the view point which took about 30 mins or so, but when youre at the top the views are fabulous, lovely decking area and a seat to admire the views, very peaceful up there. The site was clean and tidy with no rubbish (that I saw), has all the major facilities you need, hot showers, laundry room, recycling bins, power bank / phone charging, fridges, cafe, live music sometimes, toilets, outside water, electric points the list is endless. This is by far the best site weve visited and I think we will start making this our regular place to go camping! The staff were all friendly and helpful as well.. such a great place and well worth a visit! The lake on site is brilliant too, hours of fun if youre into water sports like paddle boarding or kayaking or just want to have some fun in the water

This site used to be my favourite ever campsite, I was very much looking forward to returning for my 1st ever trip on my own in my motorhome, but unfortunately this visit I was very disappointed. I was greeted nicely, my request for near the lake was mentioned saying that its not too busy down there yet, so should be in luck and told to pick any empty pitch. i needed one close to the lake for carrying my paddleboard, so I was very excited when I drove round and saw the same pitch I had last Yr was empty (esp as my friends couldnt come because they were going 2b so fullSo I pitched up, levelled up, did awning, carpet and chairs out, bike out etc spent over an hour & half on my own sorting it out, I couldnt understand why the person next to my pitch wasnt actually on their pitch but on the grass btwn pitches, which meant even tho i was perfectly on my hardstanding pitch, i was very close to her awning. I was cooking dinner when next door arrived and asked me 2move 2 another pitch, saying they had bn told no one would go where I was as it wasnt a pitch. I explained it definitely was a pitch it has hardstanding, a number and hook up, plus i was here last year. Anyway I was treated and spoken to very unkindly by these 2 women so I ignored them and carried on (1 of them later found me and apologisedI tried to accomodate them and explained i would be there on my own, out all day every day and dont sit up late etc, i suggested if they got onto their pitch properly the gap would be as it should be and if it wasnt me there someone else will be as they are going to be full, they refused saying they were here 1st and said they were friendly with the owners, then I had staff come and say I should move as they were here 1st, I pointed out they werent parked on their pitch but on grass she said anyone can park btwn pitches as they dont have rules about where u park, i said so if i park on the grass btwn 2pitches then im there 1st i can stop 2 people either side parking there & she said yes, we dont have rules about how you pitch, so i said then if u dont have rules i will stay here then. So i refused to move saying i was on my own and wasnt packing it all up again on my own as i was all set up, cooking dinner and i needed and had requested a pitch close 2 lake in my booking. She left. Then after some more verbal abuse and intimidation of sitting opp me talking about me like i wasnt there by my neighbours, then the owners came very abruptly and told me I had to move, the woman (ownerwas very nice to me, but man (ownerwas very rude, abrupt, agressive and unkind. I wanted to leave the campsite all together immediately due to how I was treated and spoken to, but i wasnt in a position to go. I felt as a woman on my own, intimidated by all these people and i became very unusually emotional. I did move as i had no choice and no one from the campsite spoke to me again for the 10nights I was there, despite regularly seeing them around. I felt very uncomfortable & unwelcomed. Then to put the final hurdle in the way... the lake was so dangerously full of weeds from a quarter of the way in, i swam in and had 2turn bk out as i was getting tangled up in it, so I never did get to swim or paddle (which is what i went there 2do). Kids were ok as splashing and playing at the entrance, but for swimmers it wasnt at sll suitable. Weeds got industrially removed the day I left! So I am sad to say my favourite site, I will never return to again. This is not to say the site is not still lovely and clean and now the weeds are probably gone, have great facilities, but my experience has put me off ever going back again.

Stayed for a week in July/August. Finding the site was easy enough and had a quick check in process. We could choose which pitch we wanted to stay on which was good. The view of the hill is nice and the pitches are a good size.A mixture of pros and consThe lake is lovely. Nice size and the kids loved it. Bit cold and dirty but its a natural lake so it is expected.Plenty of toilet cubicles which were kept very clean. And central to most of the pitches. Although they are clean because they are closed a lot throughout the day and the queues for the ones that are open are huge. The showers though are a joke. They are push button which last 3 seconds. Not even enough time to wash an armpit and if you keep hold of the button it gets hotter and hotter to the point of burning. What should have been a 5 minutes shower took 40 minutes. The location isnt the best if wanting to anything other than go on walks. The walks are lovely but not much for those who are less able bodied. The roads surrounding are nice to drive on but there isnt enough on site to keep kids entertained for a week except the lake.Quiet time of an evening is 10.30 to 11 although you can stay up of an evening as long as you are very quiet. Some people stayed up very late and one pitch even played club music from 9am to 4am over the weekend. Luckily we were not by them but we could still hear it.Some items in the shop are a good price, others are extortionate. Maybe because its an honesty shop this is how they cover any losses they may incur.I went to wash our clothes and was very disappointed. Two washers and dryers which were very modern but stunk to high heaven of stagnant water so the dryers did too. Didnt fancy paying for a wash just to make clothes and towels smell worse. Somebody had also set their wash to run for three hours! The café of an evening serves drinks and has music on which can be heard clearly from nearby pitches and many people go here for a drink so if you want quiet then get a pitch away from here. The Wi-Fi is supposed to be site wide but is terrible. We were right by the reception and it was still bad. Many people rave about this site and several people come back year after year but sad to say this wont be the case for us.

If I could give 4.7 stars I would but I had to round up as the site is a wonderful place to stay. There is the usual issue with Wi-Fi, will never understand why campsites cannot get a reliable signal. This one just dipped out all the time. Fortunately I did have a strong mobile signal so wasn’t really an issue for me, others in our party struggled. My big moan is the showers. Of course showers need to turn off automatically and this is comm9n at gymn, campsites and other public showers. But these where about 3 seconds and was frustrating and bordering on unusable. I just had a quick, up enjoyable shower every morning.Ok moan over and now the good bits. The site is just lovely. Great scenery and walks, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and super clean everywhere. We where lucky with weather and had an amazing week. The lake is lovely and not over supervised so we could just swim and boat and have a great time.It genuinely felt like the staff just wanted people to have a great time.So may sites these days are overly strict and won’t even allow basic things lik3 fire pits but here they even hire them to you at a very low £5 per stay.I would definitely recommend and will be going again.Really hope they find a way to change the shower timings though as everyone seemed to be grumbling about that. Was quite funny hearing the muttering from every shower cubicle and how similar they where…… “oh for f£&# sake” was a common one.

Possibly best family campsite I have visited. Friendly, tidy, clean facilities, spacious flat pitches. Lots of space and walks, and still enough atmosphere on the site without any feeling of it being over crowded. What made it for us was the swimming lake. Bring your wetsuits and paddleboards!

I first came to Fforest Fields 25 years ago when my children were 5 and 16. There was only the 1 field and most folk were in tents. The showers and loos were in a portacabin. It was wonderful!. Since then my gang and I have all become old and progressed to caravans. We have been to many wonderful sites around the country over the years but the opinion isIts not like Bilf! So we continue to visit this most excellent of sites as often as we can. Having watch it grow into still the most amazing place to stay. Snow, rain, mist, sunshine, the views are superb Please keep it a secret if you can. The best holiday place in the UK!

Just spent weekend camping and we were really lucky with heatwave. This place is lovely, location is stunning, nice owners . There is a finishing lake, paddle lake, well its rather a pond not a large lake thoo, but still great in the summer. Take you paddle board there if you have one. Plenty of walks or cycling, and pinnacle is the view point on the top of the hill, offering panoramic views. This is a must , we will be back again for sure.

This is by far, in so many ways the most heavenly campsite in Wales! The flowers and gardening around the site are gorgeous. The cafe has everything you need and the staff are fun, kind and friendly.Their lake is divine for swimming in although it did get a bit reedy near the end but I just treated them as extra water caresses :-p.Its a great place for children to take their bikes and bike about freely meeting other awesome kids. The walks and trails around the site and up the hill are stunning and get your heart pumping to. There are lots of toilets and showers so I never had to wait and there are even 2 family rooms for you to some a lot of room with little humans. All in all, very thoughtful and beautiful campsite with a real community atmosphere.Thank you Fforrest Fields!

Tbh didn’t have any expectations and wanted a relaxing break rather than running around site seeing and this was perfect. We brought a SUP & kayak with us and had a great time in the lake. The barn dance was a blast, haven’t laughed so much in a long time.Site has beautiful views / walks and not to large a campsite.Facilities are good. Like the quiet rules.Recycling buckets are a great idea, but found that out on day 6!Only small downsides for us: 5 seconds spurt on showers meant washing was difficult. The free for all away from hardstand into middle of camping strip if only there for a few days meant if you were with friends for 7 days + (you had to stay on hard standingthen fellow campers could camp between you and your friends so from that point of view a preference would be a specific pitch allocation. Or maybe we’ll just book for 6 days next time! 😜

What a site! Staff are so friendly. Everywhere clean and tidy. On site shop, bar, cafe. Free hot showers and plenty of space in each cubicle to change. The on site facilities are well organised. Spacious camping within the most scenic views. Everything you need for a relaxing break with plenty of walks, paddle boarding and other on site activities for the children to enjoy. Superb! One of the nicest sites Ive stayed on. Amazingly peaceful and surrounded by beautiful rolling hills. Theres a lake for kayaking and swimming and well marked walks around the camp and up into the hills. Dogs and children are made very welcome. The lovely staff, especially Matt, couldnt do enough to help and the facilities were spotless. Builth Wells is only a 10 minute drive away. Will definitely be staying here again. Excellent clean campsite. No expense spared here. Everything is top notch. Already booked to come back. Fantastic walks from the campsite, we also found a little water tap with brush attached to clean off our walking boots when we got back from our beautiful walk. A lovely lake which we cant wait to come back and use in the summer. My husband was chuffed to see a little fishing lake here also. This site has everything we love. Lovely little cafe/bar onsite with delicious pizza nights on selected dates. Firstly ensure you have a good tv aerial as the signal here is very poor, if at all, and no points are provided.Secondly check the advertised Coffee shop/Bar is open in the Autumn as we found it closed on weekdays.Otherwise it’s a lovely site, nice and friendly with a pleasant atmosphere. The facilities are superb (dreaded push button showersplus washing machines etc and a great drying room.Great walks, lots of lovely details like benches and bridges and a lovely lake and hills to walk around, superb for Dogs etc.The viewing platform on the hill is a “must visit”, the views are amazing plus the Red Kites drift past on thermals, take a camera !So much to see and do for sure, just a little remote if you don’t have a car.

Q: How lovely is this place? From the moment we arrived and were shown to a beautiful field we knew it was going to be a great week. Its such a well looked after site, with many walks and peaceful lakes, simply idyllic. The shower block was thoughtfully designed, with plenty of room. It also has a good wash up room with fridges and freezers for campers to use. Great recycling facilities too. Yes, everything was well thought out.A: Very.

What a great site! Its large with lots of choices of spots to pitch up, we had booked a certain area online but the owners were happy for us to drive round first and decide if we wanted a different one. The site is run really well, big focus on recycling and a 24/7 shop selling the basics. The toilets and showers were the best Ive used... Very clean, very spacious and warm. There is a swimming lake and a fishing lake. The best thing were the walks, miles off trails right from the site. We will definitely be back
