Another disappointing meal at Fish On - ordered the swordfish and they had a really hard time cooking it medium. Still came out dry and tough. Clearly it was not fresh. In the past I have had extremely salty food. Seafood should taste fresh. No need to over season.
fantastic restaurant a helpful and friendly personnel. Im just passing through on my fantastic American journey. But Ill be honest: This was a great experience.
Wow! Super thumbs up but be prepared to pay up for this fine dining! My guest and I had the halibut and salmon dinners! it was nicely presented and had a wonderful flavor with unique sides. Yummy and oh so good!
OMG. If you are ever in Delaware at Lewis Beach go here. Fabulous food and service
Great Service, Great Food, a totally enjoyable evening, Mark made eatingat Fish On an evening to remember, wewill definitely be back....
Fried chicken dish with mashed potatoes and gravy was fabulous! The calimari was good and the fish tacos were fine but not as good as the chicken. Great spot for large groups as they have many large round tables and are set up well for rehearsal dinners and that sort of thing it appeared with a separate large room off to the side with additional restrooms as well. I wish the happy hour deals were offered in the main dining area or at least a subset of them.
This is a beautiful restaurant, very comfortable atmosphere, service…mmm they take care of you very professional,I love this restaurant, I will find the opportunity to come back soon, the food simply delicious.
This place is great , a friendly environment . the food is delicious and the staff are friendly and nice. I am definitely going back
Great atmosphere, great servers, and the food was delicious. Sit outside for the full experience.
Food was just ok.Giving a high rating for the service. Tia was terrific.
Great restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Just passing thru on my great American adventure. But i can honestly say that this was a awesome experience. Coming here as a Swede i did not expect this. Coming from my son, and i quote: "this was the best Mac and Cheese Ive ever had"And i can say that this was probably the best shrimp and grits Ive ever had. This place will absolutely get 10/10 from me. Well worth a visit
Our party of 6 adults was seated at two small round-tops pushed together in the midst of a high traffic area next to the door leading to outside dining, emitting a burst of hot air with each opening. That was our biggest disappointment, in addition to the food refuse stuck to our “clean” silverware and serving pieces. Otherwise, very good food and nice waitstaff.
Great food and very nice restaurant. Nice outdoor dining area.
We have dined here twice in the past two weeks. Food and service are at very high standards.I would have given 5 stars but they were out of a few entrees and appetizers as well as some desserts. We are trying all Sodel restaurants and having a good time!
Always great service and food. A great go to place when you dont want to take a chance of a bad dining experience.
One of the best in the area. The food was outstanding and the service was prompt and courteous. Three of us ordered 3 different entrees and all of us were beyond pleased with our choices. This will certainly be a regular dinner destination for us.
Great experience at Fish on! Our waitress Lauren was on point and very attentive. Brought food for the kids out early let our request and recommended great meals on the menu, will definitely be back
This restaurant was recommended by the hotel staff and it was well worth the trip. The three of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Well worth a visit. Amazing servers. Very delicious food. Highly recommend.
When I first walked in I knew this was going to be a worthy place to eat. I got the clam chowder and the 5 point burger. My server niko was very helpful with my accommodations regarding my changes with my burger.
The food and service was wonderful. Complimentary 2nd round of drinks due to the food taking so long in the kitchen (I personally wasnt complaining and have experienced worsebut appreciated the service. The food turned out wonderful and the atmosphere was great for a nice date night.
We’ve come here a few times and we’ve never had a bad experience at a SoDel restaurant but we waited an hour and 20 min and our food was nowhere to be found. When you have a not even 2 year old toddler…not a good situation. We had to get our food to go that we still had to wait for. Probably won’t be back.
We go to fish on at least twice per month all year long. Usually have one of the specials. Wine selections are good by glass or bottle. Prices are high but good value and service. Outdoor area is nice to eat and relax. Great overall experience each time we go.
I have gone to Fish On since it opened & it is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the area. We ordered raw oysters on the half shell which were fresh and delicious, the cocktails were well made and flavorful, and our waiter was polite and working hard. All was well until we got our entrées. I ordered the scallops (from the fish board). My husband could smell the "fishy smell" from when they arrived at the table. I LOVE scallops and had a hard time after 2 bites from 2 different scallops. They were a bit over cooked on one side but overall VERY slimy and very gamey tasting. They tasted spoiled. I could not handle another bite and left the majority on the plate. At the end of our meal our waiter asked how everything was and I kindly told him that the scallops were not good. He apologized and said he would tell the chef. I thanked him as it was not his fault. I was definitly surprised that there was no followup from the manager or the chef. The restaurant was about half full and service was slowing down....granted it was memorial day Sunday but it was after 830pm and it was slower. In past visits, there was always a manager check-in at the table but this time there was no check-in or followup. For a $32 entrée (that we were fully charged forI would expect a follow-up of some sort.
I pick up food at Fish-On to deliver for Meals on Wheels, which is grear that u do that. But when I go to eat at Fish-On its always a great experience!!!
My husband and I (who are regular visitors to Lewes from Philadelphiawere delighted to try Fish On for dinner around 6 pm on May 16. He ordered salmon and I ordered a crab cake. He was not impressed with the salmon. We often make better salmon at home. But the crab cake was actually inedible. Most of it was some mixture of breadcrumbs and egg, which was tasteless. What small amount of meat there was, stank like rancid seafood. After two bites I really couldnt manage any more. We paid our bill, which was over $80 (sans tip, which we nevertheless added, since it wasnt the servers faultand left for Kindle, where we had a fine meal. Beware. Apparently Fish On serves sea food that is not fresh. If you want to go there, ask your server whats fresh that evening.
Amazing food and staff! Had a great time at one of their wine dinners that Mike organized!
Came here for the ST. URBANS-HOF WINE DINNER AT FISH ON by SODEL CONCEPTS. There were 5 courses all paired with a reisling from the Mosel region in Germany from Nik Weis. Everything was exceptionally delicious, especially the halibut and shrimp curry. The wine was also fantastic and paired well. I would definitely do this again and recommend to others.
Went on Monday May 9th, 2022. Went early at about 5:30pm to beat the crowd and enjoy some peace for our anniversary. Overall a very pleasant experience with a few minor caveats. We asked for seating away from the bar which was easily provided. A nice table with padded seating overlooking the fire pit placed outside. Place was clean and seating was comfortable. Waitress was knowledgeable on the menu which is always a plus. Waitress was excellent throughout. My wife and I had the crabcakes and fish tacos. Order was out in 20-25 minutes. Very good on the time. My wife enjoyed the crabcakes and didn’t use any sauces. She enjoyed them and they were seasoned well. Quality was spot on. The warm mustard potato salad was very good. Only issue with her dish was the amount of red onions in the potato salad. They obviously can can be over powering. My wife simply pushed most to the side. She still enjoyed the potato salad. Everyone has a different palate so some may like the amount of red onion. The star of the dish was the crab cakes. My order was the fish tacos, old bay fries and freshly made slaw. The old bay fries were typical thin fries seasoned well. Nothing special. But hey…it’s fries. The slaw was good. It was fresh which is a plus, but flavor? The dressing was okay but lacked something. I poured the slaw over the fries and salted it. The slaw with the crunch, and the fries with old bay, made for a great seasoned textured bite. Ejoyed it. The fish tacos were good and I did enjoy the flavors. However the anount of fish was lacking. One taco had what I would describe as about an index finger size piece of fish. The secong taco slightly bigger. And the third probably about the right size for the taco. Being consistent in plating is important. Quite frankly the fish from the first taco should have been on the second one with that piece of fish. Then another piece of fish placed on the first taco. Pictures online from their website show multiple “chunks” of fish on each taco. That didn’t happen. All the other ingredients, textures and flavors on the taco were excellent. Just lacked the fish they needed. One other issue was the plated lime that came with the tacos. I could see easily they were very dry. I was able to squeeze out a few drops. But it’s not a good look on the plate and can be a red flag into making you think what else isn’t so fresh. I informed the waitress and she said she would let them know to replace the limes that were pre-cut. Being consistent in plating and looking at what you put out on a dish is important. If I can see the lime is dry when I get my plate, then it should have been spotted before going out. It’s paying attention to detail. Did we enjoy our meals? Absolutely. Was it worth the price? Overall yes. Would we go back? Yes. Could there be a lack of consistency in the plating/portion/quality of the food? Maybe. That has yet to be determined. That will determine if this is a place I frequent, or a place I visit twice and move on. They did give me a ten percent VA discount which was nice. I give it a 4.5 out of 5. Consistency will be key. Would I recommend it? Yes.
Excellent food had the Maple Salmon with shredded Brussel and butternut squash puree. YUMMY!! Luke was our server
Very friendly server and staff! Great food and outdoor seating
Just wanted to give a shout out to your staff. Our Belle Terre community recently had an Adventures in Dining event in the private room. Everyone was very happy with the food and the service. It was a large group and your staff did a great job. Special recognition for Tia. Thank you.
Worst welcome we have had for a long time. I had reservations, we were sat at a table, water glasses, menus were given. Hostess comes over to ask if we could move. There were 3 empty tables around us, she said our table had been reserved. We moved and watched the former table, and only one of the 3 had people the entire time we were there. If she had explained there were staffing issues, it would have been more understandable. Never was there a thank you. We will not be returning to Fish On.
The staff and food were both exceptional! Loved our Mahi, Salmon, Shrimp Salad, and Fish Tacos. The Crab Dip appetizer was also very well done, with a crusty top layer baked to perfection!
Its no wonder that this restaurant is a favorite for both locals and visitors. The food and service are top notch. An excellent happy hour menu that goes till 7:00 p.m. if youre inclined
Not for finicky diners. Bustling place with outdoor fire pit. Friendly servers but too busy for our taste. Servers forgot bread and other requests. Food was bland. Portion sizes good. They were understanding in adjusting our bill.
I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of food. The restaurant layout and outdoor areas were nice and I found the service to be great at a time when many places are short staffed. I am definitely returning and only came since it was recommended by friends. They were right, one of the best SoDel restaurants in the area.
Last night We went to a great Wine Dinner at Fish On, menu enclosed. We have gone to several SODEL CONCEPTS WINE DINNERS AND THEY ALL HAVE BEEN TERRIFIC. I WOULD HAVE GIVEN A 5 STAR REVIEW; HOWEVER UNFORTUNATELY I WOKE UP SICK AT 5 AM THIS MORNING AND MY WIFE GOT SICK AT 8 AM WHEN SHE WAS SHOPPING. NORMAL FOOD SAFETY PROCEDURES WHERE APPARENTLY LACKING, THAT IS THE REASON FOR THE 1 STAR RATING!
Food and service was great! Allparties enjoyed their food.
We were doing a quick getaway from Bucks County,PA, and staying at Home2Suites. We asked for restaurant recommendations and were told about Fish On. Off we went...a quick 15 minute walk..we were lucky enough to be seated at a high top table ( next time well be cling to make reservations )..we split a caprese salad with peaches..they melted in my mouth - they were delicious! My husband ordered the crab cakes and I ordered the tuna...superb!Probably one of the best fish meals Ive eaten in a long time..the portions were so large- that my husband left one half of his crab cake! We also split the cheese grits-scrumptious...I wish we ordered dessert, but we were honestly too full..Beautiful outdoor seating area...We will definitely be back!Iris and Rick
My friend hosted her baby shower here yesterday. The food was amazing. We had buffet style it included omelets, eggs, potatoes, shrimp & grits, French toast and everything was delicious and seasoned well. The French toast, shrimp & grits and potatoes(breakfast stylewas my favorite. The bartenders were awesome and the drinks are strong. I had a peach long Island with no sour mix just sprite and it was one of the best peach long Islands i ever had. I will definitely come back again
The restaurant was a very nice surprise. From the food to the drinks to the service, everything was done well. I had the fish tacos, Caesar salad, dumplings and bread pudding. Very good meal at reasonable prices. I can see going back to this restaurant and inviting friends.
Went here to Celebrated my husband’s birthday, our first time here. We took my sister-in-law and her husband who came into town to celebrate her brother’s birthday. She & her husband had the crab cakes, my husband had the steak and I had the seared scallops. We all enjoyed our meals, and I definitely loved the seared scallops, very tasty. Usually I take pictures of our plates, but we were hungry and before our knew it we were done. However my sister-in-law couldn’t eat the 2nd crab cake so took it home with us, here a pic
This was our first time trying Fish On. From the moment we arrived, we knew it was going to be excellent. Great atmosphere, professional and friendly staff and amazing food.
Loved the food... maple glazed salmon with butternut squash sauce...And the lovely "just peachy" martini. The ambience is great even in the tent outside...The waitress was amazing.
The drinks were good. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the ambiance. We liked it much better outdoors. Our server was super friendly and we all enjoyed our meal. We had some apps to kick off the night. We recommend the wings and calamari to start. The entree portions were super generous. Our group had the fish special, lobster mac and cheese, Nashville Hot chicken (was not spicy), fish tacos, and cajun pasta. All it was good. As for dessert we recommend the key lime cheesecake.
My wife and I went out for a little date night and had the chefs platter. One of the best seafood dish for most reasonable price Ive found here in town. We werent hungry so we shared it but it was fresh, delicious. Itd been lovely to have more lobster or shrimp but business is business, understandably. Our waitress was friendly and outside sitting is unbeatable.
We enjoyed the outdoor sitting despite the mosquitoes at the end of the meal. We ordered grilled swordfish and catfish and were fairly happy about the food.
Nice atmosphere with the choice to eat inside or outside. Even with only a few diners inside the restaurant was pretty loud. The servers were very nice and helpful, giving recommendations and making sure that we had everything we needed. Food came out very fast and there was no waiting on the check. Not a very extensive menu, but the food was good for the most part. However, I would recommend not ordering the mashed potatoes or the crab cake. Neither my husband or I liked them. I do believe that it is overpriced having eaten at a lot of restaurants in Lewes. I would go back based on the service, but not necessarily for the food considering the price. My husbands meal was Fried rice with spare rib patty, mushroom gravy and a fried egg which cost $20. I got the Captains Platter which was fried lobster tail (2 bites), 2 scallops, 4 fried shrimp, a crab cake, mashed potatoes and green beans for $34. We got 2 sodas which were $3 each. You do get 2 pieces of bread, but for the price of the meals, a salad would have been nice.
Reliability and freshness are the hallmarks of this restaurant. On any given day the food is delicious and served with friendly staff. Great fish dishes. I had a pasta diablo that had just the right amount of spices. They offer happy hour specials and dining specials as well. Tucked away in the Village shopping and residential area, it’s very convenient.
Valentines Day Wine dinner. Excellent! 5 courses. Pre reservation. But, we were not aware of sitting with large group of people who we did not know. Would rather been seated alone with my Valentine. But, food and wine was great. Enjoyed it very much.
