Foundation Tattoo & Art Studio in Schuylkill County

The shop is great, clean, cool atmosphere, and everyone is friendly. My main review is for Marz though.I just moved to VA in July. I have a lot do work done already and am very particular when picking out new artists. After a lot of online digging I came across this shop and then specifically the IG for Marz. Reached out for a consultation for what I was interested in then was in with a couple weeks.Now, for my first piece with a new artist I actually look back and realize I took a huge risk. I was seeking a large rework of a piece I had done myself over a decade ago. Took the chance and Marz crushed it. I mean she exceeded all my expectations. Talked to me about the design and best approach for some of the cover up work. The end product exceeds what I had hoped for.I have already gone back to her for a smaller piece. Again she absolutely exceeded all expectations. I will be getting more work done here for sure.

Very happy with my new tattoo. I loved how Shawn helped me figure out the tattoo I wanted. I felt like I was getting a tattoo from an old friend. I will definitely be getting more.

Seth is the bomb. He designed my 2 most recent tattoos and touched up one of my older ones. He has an awesome eye for color and I cant wait to get my next one!

Was checking out other tattoo artists and shops in the area couldnt fine anything I liked then came across this place. All the photos that I looked at were great and the work looked professional. Ended up choosing here for my friends first tattoo and my 6th. The work came out really good. The environment was very welcoming and felt comfortable the whole time we were there. Highly recommended this location for your next tattoo or first tattoo.

My friend and I spent all Saturday morning trying to get into a shop to get some small tattoos. We stopped in Foundation when they opened and the girl up front said it would probably not be until later that afternoon. We went back to wait where we originally put our name down. Finally we decided to call Foundstion back to see if we could make appointments and she said she was just about to call us because an artist had gotten there who was doing walk-ins! We got there and waited about 45 minutes for him to finish up the walk-in ahead of us. The artist, Nathan came out and spoke to us about what we wanted. He was so sweet and welcoming which honestly is not something I’ve experienced in the past at shops. I wanted my grandma’s signature taken from a card she gave me before she passed and he took his time to make sure it looked exactly how I wanted. I felt like he was gentle and I was done within like 10-15 minutes? It was great and I’m obsessed. Just honestly everyone at this shop is so nice and it was not something I was used to. I will be back for future tattoos!

Marz at Foundation did an outstanding job with my tattoo. She was patient in making sure she and I were on the same page about what I wanted, professional, friendly, and super talented. Id recommend Marz to anyone!

I had an appointment with Mike on Sunday at noon and had already paid him a deposit in advance. He has done work on me a few times before and was very professional and nice. This past Sunday he had the biggest attitude which really caught me off guard. He took off his gloves and said he needed to step outside. At that point I knew I didn’t need him working on me with knowing he was that upset over something. I didn’t stress it too much I just politely told him that I wanted to leave. He said he wasn’t upset but I could see him throwing things down and his whole demeanor was not good. I talked with the front desk lady and she spoke with him outside and stated to me that it’s been a long week for him. I understand that but I’ve had a long week as well and was just trying to enjoy my appointment. On top of that he was late. I arrived 5 minutes early and he did not see me until about 10 minutes after.Also, I felt as though Mike made a few mistakes on my tattoo. I pointed them out to him by sending him a couple of photos. He had the nicest reaction and informed me not to worry. When I bought it to his attention in the shop he made up so many excuses as to why the leg looked a certain way and why the scales were crooked. They looked nothing like the photo I sent him. He stated that he did not change anything from the photo but I have a photo of the picture I sent him and a photo of the outline he did.

Seth is awesome, did mines and my wife tattoo on the same day. Was a long day but Seth is such a cool person time flew and both tattoos came out great. Definitely our new spot.

Absolutely adore everything about the shop! I was booked for Rashad & was amazed by his work. He did two pieces on me, and theyre by far my favorite tattoos that I have. Its been a couple of months now & they both healed nicely. I am SUPER excited to book my future tattoos. <3

I was in Virginia for a few months and was looking to get some work done. I looked at a few shops in the area but Foundation was the one that not only got me in the soonest but also seemed more interested in what I was trying to accomplish. The customer service was AMAZING, friendly and accommodating, explained everything I needed to do to get the final product I was looking for. My artist was Rashad, and I am extremely happy with the outcome. We did a few last minute adjustments and even with that, the final product exceeded expectations and at a very fair price. Definitely recommended, friendly and relaxed, yet professional, staff. I will be holding all other parlors to this expectation from here on!

What a great shop...and Keith is a gem. The shop is comfortable and clean. Keith is kind and amazingly talented. Ive been getting tattooed for almost 40 years and Ive seen the good, the bad and the ugly. Foundation is the real deal. No one else will get my business.

Walked in at the perfect time and got Shaun. Waited maybe 15 minutes for him to draw up my tat and we were good to go. I’m happy with his work. Cool dude and easy to converse with. Overall vibe of the shop is really good too.

This was my first time going here and Boone did my tattoo!I absolutely love it and it didn’t hurt at all,he is so amazing!literally the best tattoo artist I’ve ever had!It was a memorial tattoo for my baby boy that passed away and he took what I wanted and totally transformed it!!!I will be going back soon!

I met Seth two weeks ago and told him my vision for a cover up tattoo and start of my sleeve. I honestly figured my coverup would be a little difficult so I didn’t go into it thinking I would have an amazing tattoo from it. Boy was I wrong. I came in today and Seth showed me what he worked on and he made my vision (that I barely knew how to explain 🤣come to life. He’s such a fun guy and his work is amazing! I can’t for my second session with him. I have a few tattoos, so I’ve met my fair share of artist and he’s by far the best one I’ve had (& will continue going to)

I keep coming back for Marissa tattoos. The place is amazing. The art, the colors, the people... Im hooked.

I came in to speak to somebody about getting work done and the person had emailed me and told me to come in.. nobody came out to ket me know the artist was busy or nothing... Sat there for 3hrs after being told to take a seat and just got tired of waiting..... Never again

I was looking for an LGBT+ friendly place and they were so welcoming here. Seth took me as a custom walk-in and had me out in 3 hours with my first tattoo. I love it and will cherish these clean lines forever.

Got my first tattoo here yesterday with Mike. It was the best experience I could’ve asked for, Mike was completely professional and made sure I was satisfied with everything before we got started. The whole shop had great attitudes and were all helpful when I had questions. I’ll definitely be back again and would recommend Foundation to anybody looking to get amazing work done.

The shop was very chill & inviting. I got 3 pieces done in one day my artist was Mike I’m still in shock in with my tattoos his work was very clean and sharp definitely will be going back to get more work done by him .

I never got the name of my tattoo artist (light skinned with a lot of tattoos but he was beyond awful. Gave me the wrong tattoo, overpriced me, and never gave me care instructions for it. He was so awful it hurts. NEVER let him touch you. If you do happen to go here, see Seth. He was my sisters tattoo artist and I wish I had seen him instead. Then maybe I would have the right tattoo. The guy I had was lazy and stupid.

My husband and I got wedding bands done by Seth. We had a really good time chatting with our artists and our tattoos turned out exactly how we wanted them. Everyone in the shop were personable and cool to deal with. Really looking forward to getting some bigger pieces done in the future.

Amazing artists. Ive gotten tattooed by both Seth and Shaun who both do amazing work. All of the artists are very talented and super cool people. Not like other tattoo shops who can be unfriendly and unprofessional-especially when it comes to being on time. Definitely check Foundation out for some amazing custom work!

Keith is an awesome tattoo artist! I have gotten two pieces from him, which I always get complemented on! The first one that I got from him is over 18 months old but still looks brand new! I highly recommend him as a tattoo artist!
