Great food and friendly staffs good service!! We will come back again.
I’m a little confused why this restaurant has 4+ stars. My family went in there with high hopes, Indian food lovers! 3 out of 4 of us ordered the korma, and the other ordered tika masala. The korma was just spicy coconut milk with dry chicken and the tika only tasted of tomato sauce. The naan bread was wet likeIt was make in a microwave. Unfortunately we will not be back.
Great breakfast at a great price.
Greeted with a friendly smile & a hot cup(sof delicious coffee.
Really good Indian food here.
Front Street Cafe is a family run business with a diverse menu. You can order Italian, American, Indian, and more. They have specials every day. We always really enjoy the Indian food. Yanni and his family make awesome homemade meals, and we are always happy with our experience. For the price, it’s a really great place to have a homemade meal.
Very good food. Nice, friendly people. Server was helpful recommending my very first Indian dish and it was delicious! We would definitely come back!
Had the mango chicken curry and samosas. Delicious! On par with NYC Indian spots. Cant wait to try the butter chicken.
The best food in the tri state area! Hands down!
Amazing food and very kind and friendly staff. I had curry chicken panini with rice. Chicken was very well seasoned and rice cooked very nicely. Also the menu contains a wide variety of foods. I had a nice conversation with the owners too -super nice people. Wish I could try their breakfast too. A must go place if you’re around.
Two of us had Indian dishes and another friend had an American wrap. Our meals did not disappoint.
Indian food how did no one tell me this was here. I was pleased by the dishes we had will be back fer sure *** It never occured to me to take a picture we were enjoying it too much!
This is the only bad review you will see because from my experience last time i came and had this indian food it was the best i’ve ever had. Today i was craving some indian food and my dad went and ordered. It is not the same at all. Now i don’t know if there is a new owner in charge, if there’s a budget? i know prices are rising and for me and my father it came out to be $40 +!! the nann was stale, the mango lasse isen’t very much a thick creamy smoothie like it use to be it’s literally just milk. Im very disappointed because i remember the food was so great. The prices are ridiculous as well for the food to be in this condition. The flavoring of the butter chicken is not the same either
What, a surprise! Really solid Indian food and a crazy diverse menu- greek/American/Mexican . We only ordered the Indian and it exceeded my expectations for a cafe not even marketing itself as an Indian Restaurant! I wouldn’t award it best in Orange County because it’s not quite as flavorful as Citrus- they beat Citrus in some ways - by having much more tender meat as reported by my husband who went for it with a Lamb dish. He was psyched. My kids also loved their tika masala, went down easy , very creamy. As a vegetable lover, It seems to me their veggies may be from frozen so to me that comprises flavor. The saag paneer had a bit of a frozen spinach edge.Very much glad to realize this place exists!!
Excellent food. Fresh vegetable curries cooked just right. Generous portions. Attentive service. We’ve eaten at many Indian restaurants, and we’d definitely come back again. Plus they have a few tables for outdoor dining, great during Covid times.
Excellent food and great customer service every time i go there. The daily specials are excellent as well
Oh boy, this spells trouble for me! First time ordering from here and ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS lamb vindaloo tonight! Definitely going back to try the aloo ghobi, and some much needed breakfast choices other than the usual fare. Gloriously hot and spicy, as a new resident of Port Jervis, I’m thrilled! Solid five stars 👏🏽
The food was phenomenal. Completely fresh ingredients and you could smell / taste the individual herbs.
Oh my God could you ask for a better combination Im sure I could but right now this is it not only does this place serve breakfast which has an awesome selection but they have a great mix of American Indian and a little bit of Italian on that menu. My friend took me here so that we can get lunch he got the tika masala which was absolutely delicious creamy and flavourful with huge chunks of meat in it and I got a lamb gyro platter also amazing great flavor sir there were so many things to choose from I just havent had a gyro in a long time and they made it perfect for made it perfect for me they also make fresh non which is delicious if youve never had none please go for it its a yummy fresh piece of bread. Anyway I cant wait to go back here again theres way too much to try and I have to try especially its hard to find good Indian food these days
Good food and very friendly service. Very delicious Indian food and great breakfast menu
Always excellent. We go there for the Indian cuisine and are never disappointed. The chana masala and Vegetable Korma are delicious!
Right off the bat I had come in with 2 dishes already in mind after seeing their menu online. Theyre located in a small strip mall off of a free parking municipal parking lot (which can fill up extremely quickly as it serves a whole other main street with businesses and such)The chef/owner was sitting outside and immediately struck up a conversation, even asked me to join him sitting outside. Great conversation with him.The food I ordered was: Egg Bhurji, and their Jumbalaya Deluxe. The food was piping hot and freshly made, the execution was impeccable, and tasted amazing. A++Highly recommend if youre looking for a nice place with great food!
Wow, one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to. A gem of a place, we came by the town from NYC and it’s hands down better than the Indian places we order from. Definitely make a stop. Got the shrimp Biryani, and lamb kabobs! YumThe chef even asked us what we thought and chatted with him a bit! Great service. Highly recommend.
I called at about 7 pm which according to this website is an hour before they close. I have never been here before and was interested in the food. I called to ask if they deliver and was told "no, Im about to close anyway". Wow. I mean what customer service. Before I even had the opportunity to judge this establishment based on the quality of the food I was denied the opportunity to do so. I replied ok and we hung up. Respect for this place was immediately lost because I have ordered from others nearby who 5 minutes before closing accommodated me and took my order. Based on the lack of customer service alone I must give this place 1 stars.
My lamb kabob was so moist and juicy it fell off the stick , the bread was so tasty , my lamb vindooloo was full of spice. The restaurant was clean warm and inviting , we felt like family . Our first time in port jervis and it won’t be our last . MUCH THANKS , peace & love for the new year!!
This place is so charming. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and it was easily the best tasting chicken salad Ive ever had the pleasure of tasting. It was served on a perfect croissant.. the fresh rosemary is what made it absolute perfection.
Took the 50-minute drive to Port Jervis on a beautiful fall day, also wanting to eat Indian. Turned out that we loved everything about the Front Street Cafe. The owner was welcoming and interesting. And the food was the best Indian since we spent a month in India a year and a half ago. A bonus was the chai tea. We had been disappointed when trying chai at other regional restaurants. Our hunt is over. It. It reminded us of what we enjoyed daily in India.
The food here is amazing! I love Yannies Indian food. But, there is something for everyone with great prices.
Great mix of American, Italian, Indian and Mediterranean food. They do all of them very well. Highly recommend the Dal Lentil soup. Its an unassuming looking cafe and I believe its a BYOB, but the food is top notch as well as the service
Clean, Comfortable & Delicious. The Customer service was excellent & the food was definitely fresh! The owner & chef greeted us at our table and was very friendly!
Decided to give Front Street Cafe in Port Jervis a try today and I am very glad I did. I tried the Indian omelette and it was so delicious, awesome.
Cozy place with relaxed atmosphere. Nice variety of American and Indian cuisines. Our waitress was very helpful, as it was our first visit, with suggestions. She answered our questions with knowledge of someone who had experienced the food. Prices were reasonably average.
Food for All. If you arent sure what you want to eat... This is definitely a good place to go. They have a big array of choices. Indian, Italian, American, etc. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Seating inside and outside. Small restaurant but man does that food taste good. I was here with my wife and 3 kids (all under 4yrs old). The waitress was very attentive. The bathroom was clean. There is plenty of parking. Well be back here again.
I will never understand where cooks passion for cooking goes. The first thing cooks should learn how to cook correctly is an egg, yet so many use high heat and burn them. Deep fried bacon? The frier oil is everywhere. 0 star for a 6$ meal
What a surprise ! The menu has something for everyone. Very important is you can BYOB. The flavors in the Indian dishes were amazing. Started out with the Indian Sampler. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Definitely will go back again.
Loved the Indian food here. Couldnt believe my luck when I saw they had Indian cuisine in little ole port jervis.Huge portions, fresh, and lovely people. And I know my indian food coming from england!
Great service amazing food at a good price
Always a great meal here. "Yanni" the owner always welcomes you and treats you like family. Excellent Indian cuisine along with a variety of American and other dishes. I visit at least once a week if not more. Dine in or take out.. a great place to eat.
Love this place. Excellent food, friendly staff. Helpful staff in giving recommendations & explaining the dish itself. Dont be afraid to try something new. Im glad I did. Stop in and give it a try or order and take out. Already look forward to my next visit. Hmmm, what to try next....
The best Indian food I have had in years! The Chicken Tika was amazing and so was the Lamb Vindaloo. The service was fantastic. Definitely a place to visit again and again!
Extremely mediocre Indian food everything tasted idk just boring. I asked for mild everything was too spicy. Garlic naan, cod masala. Some mushroom thing that they forgot to put mushrooms in. Maybe im spoiled from eating at citrus . Will not return
Great food. Love the flavor. Chef was very nice. Service could’ve been friendlier. It did get better before I left though.
It was my first time visiting because where I usually go is closed on Mondays. They were open. The place is somewhat small but clean. Indian food was pretty good. I had the curry chicken over rice.
Not bad! I will confess that I only ended up there because everything else within walking distance of the Port Jervis station was closed on Monday (what? whaaaat??), and it was raining, and I was starving, and seriously. Everything else was closed.Having said that... Ill probably be back. The atmosphere was really cozy and relaxed; the staff treated me as if I were truly welcome there, not just a customer; and the food was actually tasty. I went with the Indian menu, and sure, it wasnt the best Indian Ive ever had, but it was really delicious. I enjoyed every last bite, including the leftovers.
Diner style menu! Thought it was an Indian Restaurant! Italian food too! Amercan cuisine! Prices are high considering the location. We had the Samosas, fried veggie fritters, Dahl lentil soup which was excellent! The eggplant with brown rice was good and the home made fried cheese with spinach dish was delicious! We also had the mango yogurt drink which was not so great and overpriced! Cute little place! Very nice people! Great to have something other than Chinese and Pizzerias!
Had the Indian omelette minus the green chili, it was delicious and so were the mixed vegetables & paratha bread it came with. The server was friendly & the chef & his wife came out and spoke with us. It was very clean & the atmosphere was pleasant. I will definitely be going back. While we were there another table was telling us how they make the most amazing pancakes as well, so I look forward to trying those in the future.
Great food! The owners are truly beautiful beings, I love walking in, seeing families and couples, just sitting there dining. At some point, its like sitting back, watching one happy community, on a picnic. Very nice!
Had a great vegetable biryani here. Portion size was pretty big too. Definitely wasnt hungry upon leaving. Owner was a really nice guy.
I have been eating at Yannis since they opened and the experience is always spectacular. There is a good variety of ethnic foods as well as delicious burgers, pizza, and the like. The service is always fast and courteous, the owners are friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and it is one of the most affordable places in the area.
If your ever in the Matamoras area, this is the place to go for different eats. The food is great. They have everything from traditional curry to regular items like hamburgers. They also have many different cuisines from around the world. Service for kids is very nice also. I give it a thumbs up and will probably go many times in the future. They have improved their restaurant since I was there and are now very nice and clean.
