Gerringong Falls in Shoalhaven Shire
Privilege
The walk is about 17km return but all on a firetrail so not very interesting. The view of the waterfall at the end is quite spectacular but likely only really worth doing this if youre gonna bike it. Took about 4hours to walk it (return)

Stunning, and peaceful 💦 ❤️
Very long Walk to these falls but definitely worth it
One of the most challenging hikes, definitely take a mountain bike otherwise youll be dead for two days with cramps.
MoreAmazing falls, great walking track.
Sure the waterfall is great but absolutely do not do the hike down to the bottom! The hike is absolutely not worth it, it’s extremely dangerous and very hard, I am a shell of a human after that hike. There is also a 16km bike round on top of the hike which was fine but biking back after the dangerous, extremely hard hike wasn’t pleasant! The rock chimney while easy enough to find is a tight spot, do not attempt to go through with a backpack on or you will get stuck like Santa and need an elf’s help which was a somewhat distressing experience. After the rock chimney it is a scramble and rocks can be slippy. The pink ribbons to mark the way were the only saving grace!

Rode my bike to the top of the Falls and went for a swim. Beautiful and spectacular waterfall.
MoreOne of the most beautiful waterfalls in Australia ... excellent hiking
Google maps makes it look like you drive a lot closer than you actually can. You can only drive a few hundred metres up to the track until this is parking and a gate. The rest is private access for vehicles. Its a long walk to the falls so we decided to make a trail run of it. I recommend mountain bikes or gravel bikes, even cheap big W ones and itll shorten your trip significantly. Its also pretty frustrating seeing residents just drive past while your slogging it and none of the ones we saw had utes, all oldies in SUVs so no hitchhiking. We went after all the rain so there was a lot of water running down. Theres bolts for abseiling so definitely going to go there again with bikes and ropes.
MoreAmazing, must be on bucket list
Exhausting track but the waterfall is wonderful
A nice bike ride and walk. Easily accessible and the reward is a beautiful view and quiet spot. I plan on returning to get to the bottom of the Falls.
MoreLittle boring at the beginning, but waterfall view worth the walk
Nice view... not worth 11.6km walk as its on private property
Amazing!!!!
Spectacular views from the top and bottom. Very long walk to get to the base but it is an epic place to swim in, especially after rain as the falls will be particularly heavy.
MoreWe rode bikes & hiked down to the falls it is approx 12km to the walking track from the carpark take plenty of water .
MoreIts a very long walk to Gerringong falls, I recommend taking a bike as most of the trip is on fire trail, you dont even need a proper mountain bike. The views are quite good when you get there, though probably not worth the 4 hours we spent walking. Do not bother to visit in a drought
MoreTo see the greatest water fall you need to park 20km away from it. So you need to walk the rest.
MoreBest views in the Illawarra
One of the most stunning views at a not so easily accessible location. The sheer 180m drop cliff face is simply awe-inspiring. A classic spot for people who love nature, however dont even try to get to the bottom unless you know the "Secret Passage".
More17k walk from entrance of the fire trail to the top of the falls. Easy walk on a graded road
