Glenburn Grill & Bakery in Lackawanna County
Everyone here is always friendly and the menu is large. They also have a lot of baked goods available.
MoreBest food. Service services. I will keep going back.
Very nice, very clean, friendly people
Best cheese steak ever!!!
Great homemade food. Friendly staff. Delicious bakery
The breakfast is great. Staff is very friendly and the breads are the best in the area! I love the cinnamon raisin.
MoreFood was delicious and portion size is huge.
There was pee on the waiting room bench. Probably some kid had an accident. No big deal but when we told the service, we overheard them say "they dont get paid enough for this". Sorry pal but if theres urine in your restaurant, you should clean it up, immediately. I could honestly care less how much you get paid. Major health hazard and by the time we left nobody had come over to clean it up or even put up a lil sign not to sit there. Food was bad, mediocre at best, and overpriced. Not from the area but if I was ever back I wouldnt eat here again.
MoreOutstanding staff, Hugh quality food arrived hot!very nice venue!
Wait staff was awesome, food was great, I would highly recommend this restaurant great pricing , comfortable atmosphere.
MoreMy primarily aus sandwich was delicious and my wife really enjoyed her waffle. Service was very good.
MoreFood and service always terrific
Omelets were delicious and everyone was very friendly
Love the workers theyre all very nice
Ive had better but pretty damn good
Stopped here on our way home from New York. TripAdvisor said they were open until 3 and we walked in at 1:50. The waitress said they actually close at 2, but told us they would still seat us. We ordered soup and split a club sandwich. Soup was Italian wedding soup - very different from the usual but delicious! Club sandwich was made on homemade bread and was great! Server was attentive and friendly. Bought some cookies, a muffin and the last two pieces of a walnut coffee cake. Holy cow - all fantastic!! I would travel back up there just to get that coffee cake again.
MoreAmazing place. Food is top notch and price is reasonable. My absolute favorite dinner. Try the French toast.
MoreHad the chicken and waffles with spicy honey
Saturday morning visit and the place was packed, but after the visit, I completely understood why! Delicious food, and friendly service gave us a delightful first visit to Glenburn Grill!
MoreHad a wonderful father daughter breakfast with my dad after fishing.I had a ham sour cream and potato omelet with hash Browns and white toast so yummyyyyI absolutely loved the craft show showcasing local artists and crafters such as our very own waitress who made the paintings pictured!!I cant wait to come back and eat delicious food and buy some beautiful art🤍
MoreVery undersraffed. Waitress was frantic and we had to leave without ordering after waiting 20 mins.
MoreNice full breakfasts. Omlets are great and home made breads are appreciated. Very friendly staff all around.
MoreGreat portion sizes and the homemade bread for toast was so good! Id love to go back for breakfast again some day!
MoreAwesome food and people! Our family discovered this place recently and we really enjoy going here. We love the rustic farmhouse atmosphere and it’s always decorated so nice. We go about once a week and everyone is really friendly! Portions are huge and you never leave hungry! Yesterday we got the call that our 13-year-old won the “guess the pumpkin’s weight” contest, which made his entire Halloween! We went for breakfast this morning and he was so proud to collect his pumpkin pie prize! The ladies were so sweet to him and we really appreciate such a warm, inviting, family place to eat at when we’re in the area. Truly lovely folks! Highly recommended!
MoreThis is really a cute, homey, cozy, place. It was all decorated for Halloween and a girl came to each table with a huge bowl of candy for us to pick from!! Very cute idea. There were 5 of us and all the meals came out hot and delicious. We couldnt finish our plates! Cant wait to see their Christmas decorations.
MoreWe had a delicious brunch! Everything was SO fresh and prepared exactly as we ordered and the rye bread baked on site made the best toast.
MoreAlways a treat to go here. Great staff, quick service even through high traffic hours and amazing portions sizes. The pancakes were bigger than the darn plate they arrived on 😆. Amazing effort on part of the waitress to find strawberries for my friends pancakes even though they were out. Only complaint I have is the quality of the coffee; bland. Would 100% return.
MoreEggs over medium came out looking like were off someone elses plate and were eaten and put on mine. Everything was cold no one checked on us or asked if ok. Check was thrown on our table.
Morethis is a nice cozy place to enjoy a relaxing breakfast or lunch. The wait staff is good and the facility is very clean. Plenty of seating and prior to the pandemic, Saturdays and Sundays were really crowded so reservations are suggested. Recently the dine-in seating is increasing every week.
MoreDelicious! Great place to stop and have a home cooked meal! Will definitely be back soon!
MoreFirst, Robert Irvine would be severely disappointed. We ordered and the waitress spulled my wifes coffee and didnt ask to clean it up. Messed up my order, forgot the corned beef hash. Brought me more coffee and spilled mine. The coffee was fileed with grounds. Then she brought my hash out. It was filled with grease. We have gone there for years. It will be a while before we go back.
MoreHorrible service. My wife and I went here for brunch on Sunday. We waited 10 minutes to be seated, no big deal. We ordered our beverages, and its like they forgot about us. They didnt take our order until 37 minutes later. After two separate groups of people that sat down after us complained. Finally we ordered. 45 minutes later we got our food. The groups after us were done eating as we were getting our food. Apparently you have to complain to get you food at a reasonable time. We also ordered soup in which we did not get and told the counter lady to take off our bill. As she told our waitress for a heads up, our waitress rudely made the excuse that the soup must have went to the wrong table. We come here 3 times a month and this is the second time something like this happened back to back. Will not be going here again. Unfortunate enough to say the food is good.
MoreWow the service was incredible, our food was excellent. Great place to go and mellow out and have dessert or breakfast or lunch
MoreWent out of coincidence because sheetz sold me a cracked cup with coffee. So stopped to get a new cup of coffee and wow! The desserts are amazing. Had the cookie dough pie and brownies with homemade frosting. Both were so good
MoreAwesome baked goods, great sandwiches on homemade bread (Rueben 👍), very good prices.
MoreWent in to get a few items to take out and waited 5 minutes to be ignored and hostess helped 2 other people who came in after me sitting then at a table and taking care of the other person who had a complaint about her brownies . Had some patience but after almost 15 minutes no one came back to register or ask if we need help so we left. Terrible service.
MoreI have dined at Glen Burn diner on more then one occasion. I am originally from Mass and moved to PA recently and was looking for a place that had a home cooking feel and I certainly found it at the Glen Burn diner. The food is great, the staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. The food portions are superb and the dining environment is clean and inviting. I have met the owner a couple of times, her name is Linda. She is a very warm and friendly lady who seems to work hard to deliver a great, home cooking experience with great tasting food, without a smokey taste and a very welcoming presence. I certainly would recommend this diner to friends and family.😁😁😁😁
MoreUsually eat here at least 2-3 a month. Never had anything bad to say about the food or service, except today, Father’s Day.The hostess embarrassed us because she originally sat us in the back where the other tables were right on top of you and the decibel was like a rock concert, I could not hear my son ask for a napkin. We asked for a booth in the quiet side of the restaurant and she proceeded to talk to my wife like she was a child, her response was “ you should have asked for a booth in the first place”.We sat down in the booth at 12:51, all of us ordered breakfast. We did not get served our food until 1:48, 57 minutes later. My daughters French toast was so had that I had to use a serrated knife to cut it.My wife said her food had a terrible smoked smell as did my omelet and side of bacon.Honestly the food was terrible! The waitress whom we have had before was the only part of our experience that was pleasant, she was nice as always. She even deducted 20% off our check for the long wait.I went to retrieve my car which was parked near the back side of the restaurant near the kitchen and low and behold the kitchen staff were all enjoying their cigarettes which made me realize the smoke taste on our food!Sorry to report this because we really like this place.
MoreNever had a bad experience here and have eaten here many times. The staff is always friendly and the food has always been excellent with reasonable portions. Always a favorite!
MoreLast Saturday and today my boyfriend and I wanted to try out the Glenburne Restaurant and Bakery. This was the worst customer service I have ever been exposed to. The sign outside says breakfast, lunch and dinner but they close at 3 and only do dinner one time a month. We showed up last Saturday at 2:40 and upon entering the restaurant we were greeted with eyes rolling. We found out they close at 3, we left at 3:10. So, we thought we would give them another chance. Today we arrived at 10:40, were seated. When the server came to take our order she not once smiled through our whole time there. She told me that they didnt have biscuits and gravy today, ok so I found something else I wanted sausage omelet with sausage gravy on it and with biscuits???? I dont get it. Not once today did the server come over and ask how everything was and ask my boyfriend if he wanted more coffee. We go out to eat quite frequently and Glen Burne Restaurant you just lost customers, very very disappointed.
MoreThis is another restaurant I will be going to again. The food was delicious. They have a variety of items on the menu. Chicken cheese steak was to die for. I only wish they were closer to my house. Lol.
MoreI visited from the UK and wanted a really good American breakfast experience. Definitely got it here, lovely place, quality food, home made breads, will happily come back again next time I visit for some more banana nut pancakes.
MoreSolid food at a great price. We had chocolate chip pancakes, banana pancakes, a Rueben, and the surfnturf. Really low key with good selection, including Mannings ice cream (which is the best! )
MoreLast Sunday Oct. 8 I went to the Glenburn Grille with guests for brunch. We gave our name to the attendant at the front desk and waited ... and waited ... and waited --- for 45 minutes without being seated. Several tables had been vacated but not cleaned and no on e was being seated. There was clearly not enough help there to clean tables, wait on tables, etc. If the Glenburn Grille is to continue to exist and attract loyal patrons, it must properly staff its place of business. One young waitress or whatever just wandered about blithely taking a single used glass from a vacated table and putting in a used rack. It was the height of absurdity and rudeness. Another local diner goes down the drain!
MoreWhen this place first opened I wasnt a huge fan, but Im glad I went back! I dont live nearby anymore, but the last two times I came home my family insisted we go here for breakfast and both times I was blown away! I ordered off of the breakfast specials each time and the food was amazing!
MoreThe Glenburn Grill has awesome breakfast specials. The Irish Eggs Benedict is my favorite!
MoreOctober 19th 1:45 this place has great great Ive approaches to old standards. My turkey onion and mazzarella omlette was amazing. But the hi light for me home baked rye bread. Over 40 year of either living, working, or visiting family in the scranton area, just recently was the first time knew it existed. Now that I tried it 2 years ago, I am sold. And the prices are reasonable.
MoreStopped for lunch.Restaurant is clean and bright, reminiscent of an Oceanside diner almost.Seating was prompt. Our waitress was polite, but did not know the veggie of the day or if there was applesauce and she forgot the coffee I asked for.My sandwich came shortly, but was missing the horse radish mayo the menu indicated. I had to point this out to my waitress. Otherwise, the food and service was good. Nice fresh bun, lots of cheese and meat.Found a hair on my platter.I suspect the management could improve service slightly, but am willing to give them another try.
MoreJust ate there. My Reuben had basically no meat, sauerkraut, or sauce. It was all bread. What meat (roughly two tablespoons of meat on three slices of breadthat was on it was shriveled and dry. My son had the western burger. This sandwich was all sauce! Dont eat there...ever.
MoreThe food at Glenburn Grill & Bakery is very taste and the portions very generous. Their "Monster" omelet is one of the largest I have ever had and their home fries are very good as well. The "hoagies" (sub/sandwichesare large and very well filled. Be ready for a wait as their service is bad. They are under staffed and I had to wait at least 30-40 minutes for my food the past two visits. If you have the time to sit and chat, I recommend visiting the Glenburn Grill & Dinner.
