Never had taylor ham often but this was delicious. The home fries had bits of onions and green peppers in them that really took it over the top. Yum!

First time here and definitely won’t be the last! Small diner with the small flat top grill helmed by the owner expertly doing his thing. Great coffee and Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwiches. They are also known for their great home fries. Seasoned great they are crispy deliciousness!!! Pictured here is the Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwiched between French toast! Phenomenal!!!

Wow awesome breakfast sandwiches, and Im obsessed with the potatoes. No clue what they did to make them so delicious, they are.So much food.This is blasphemous, but I almost feel like it was too much Taylor ham and it overshadowed the eggs a little.Still everything was fantastic.Im so full

The best chicken salad sandwich Ive had all week, and, in the longer term, town. Though my sample size is limited, it sets the bar for future local explorationation.5 stars for atmosphere. Its exactly what I needed to reset my brain during my lunch break. The banter was easy to jump into and though they didnt know me I felt like a regular already.

The Greeks has to be a land mark in Kearny the Greeks legit is the best family owned restaurant Kearny has too be. John has owned this restaurant family owned since 1968 and since than has been serving the best tasting food I have had. Every time I go John greets and remembers who I am and the food is always delicious and taste amazing with out fail

I dont think you can come to Kearny without hearing about The Greeks. Its a local favorite and for a very good reason. The food is always full of flavor and you can tell its always freshly made with every bite. Whether its breakfast, lunch or dinner there is never a bad meal to be had at The Greeks. One important detail that definitely sets The Greeks apart from other local places is the atmosphere; it doesnt take long to realize most of the customers are very loyal and have been frequenting the place for years. It really feels like a home town favorite when the owner knows each and every person that comes in by their first name. It doesnt get more welcoming than knowing when you walk in everyone is having a good time enjoying some comfort food with whoever they walked in with.

Too much salt on taylor ham & cheese & eggs. Ask for well done. home potatoes only the ones on top .bottom soggy very disappointed first and my last time. Very outdated..... White HOOD. ......

I went for breakfast here. I had an omelet .Swiss cheese and mushrooms. My dad had corned beef hash and eggs. Very tasty . This place is known to have the best Taylor ham and cheese sandwiches which are good too. My husband and I always get takeout from here. Very nice people and great food .

Very nice old school diner. Good food. Cash only.I lived in Kearny for over 10 years and we just discovered this place.Love it.Went for breakfast. It was busy.Feel bad for the only 1 waitress. She needed a little bit of help. Maybe a busboy. Or a cashier. Or a food runner.She does it all. But she handled it well.Kudos

I was introduced to this place through my job, they have ordered many times and recommended it. I have had their soups and sandwiches, the roast beef sandwich was yummy and the chicken noodle soup was light and soothing. The service is friendly and prompt.

If you like a good Taylor Ham sandwich. Amongst other dishes. When you see town workers and board of ed workers there constantly you know the food is good.

Food is great but owner needs to just give in with the technology and get a credit / debit machine to get more business when I asked they told me they will never get one so just a mater time before they give in but till then that’s when I will come back

This is a little " hole in the wall " if you dont pay attention to it, you can miss it. Their food is amazing the owner and the server very friendly. The only downside is that they are closed on Sundays. But other than that its an amazing little spot.

I just had my first experience at greeks first of all the fat balding cook berating the young high school kid loud enough for the whole place to hear, eas a mjor turn off. Then I got charged 6.35 for a bacon egg and cheese basically double i pay at food trucks or the deli by my house and I thought the bacon would be a mile high at that price...not even close.

Food is great I like the fact that its a small Hometown Place. Service is great and the best thing the food is piping hot!Went there again this weekend tried the pancakes they werent good.

In most places I have lived, I have been able to find local spots that satisfy my cravings for whatever I am looking for, be it some specific cuisine, fine dining, hole in the wall, etc. What is more rare is the neighborhood establishment that feels more like going to a friends house than a restaurant, and this place was particularly special. The owners have rapport and first-name relationships with what seemed like the whole restaurant and also treated us outsiders like family. The Taylor Ham (a big reason I always stop in New Jerseywas the best I have had in the state. Way more generous than the meager portions offered anywhere else (I counted at least 6-7 slices!). The rest of the menu looked so good that I almost lost sight of the prize, but I regained my focus and actually ordered two of their fantastic Taylor Ham, egg, and cheese sandwiches for myself (though half of one is probably sufficient for most people). If you are anywhere near Newark or are just passing through on your way to NYC, I highly recommend this spot. The food is simple, generous, and delicious, and local fixtures like this simply dont exist anymore in most parts of the country.

Ive been there once and I want to go back. Its an old school counter type diner that makes really good diner food. Nothing flashy about this place, they just make good food.

Ive personally never eaten here but heard from so many people about the food and all they did was Rave about it. I really hope that theyll expand their business to delivery. As a gig economy delivery driver I would love to be pick up food there through my GrubHub gig and rave to the customers how awesome this place is.

Nice little place, the people are nice and welcoming, had a triple by pass the food was overal good only problem the menu said it had a 10oz steak but it ended up being a burger the "steak" was over cooked and really didnt have flavor but the rest of the food the order came with was very good

Great family feel. Food was good for diner food. Local favorite, seating is decent but expect to wait if you arrive during peak times. Prices are reasonable and the menu is filled with normal diner fare. Owner is very friendly and works the grill.

Excellent place Ive been going there for the last 30 something years. Phenomenal owners John is fantastic the staff is great. And especially the main waitress of Heather O. Taylor ham egg and cheese rocks.

Best breakfast in all of NJ - no competition! Great atmosphere, the smell when you walk in will make you drool, and the owner (Johnis full of character. I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict with Taylor ham.

The food is outstanding! I ate the best taylor ham sandwich of my life there. John is extremely kind and funny and makes food to die for. If you take a trip to Kearny be sure to stop here for the greatest meal in the world!

Wonderful little place that has been around for a very long time, John the owner does the cooking...yummy it is, too. Heather is your server she is great.

Heather was a great and attentive server. John made the entire restaurant as lively as it was warm. Love quaint places like this. The Taylor egg, ham and cheese were delish. Cherry pie was also a hit! Love the camaraderie. Would definitely come again.

Its a nice small restaurant. I would say the food is a little above average, but nothing to write home about. If your looking for a quick breakfast or lunch, its a good place to go. I will say their hash browns are really good.

I have been going here for over 35 years. Great family, Great wait staff and always great food. And you cant beat the atmosphere.

The feeling you get is euphoric. Forget the delicious food, but think about how personal the cook and assistance are with their clients. As a man who came from a family structure, you see family when you walk into this establishment. As a real estate agent with mid realty, we always stress genuine and authentic customer service , and I commend this establishment. Truly a blessing

Cant beat the homemade soups and friendly service. I suggest the open faced Reuben or any breakfast sandwich. Fridays fish is also top notch.

Perfect spot for a big, greasy breakfast. Its a neighborhood joint so pretty much everyone knows the owner, a specialist in "food with attitude." Get the hangover special!

This place has great food. The atmosphere is like cheers where the owner knows everyone that walks in there by name. I have gone several times and I have not been disappointed. Keep up the good work John.

I have been here three times for breakfast a cheese omelette,french toast and sausage&eggs and found everything excellent! Home fries are so much better than most, seasoned perfect,not to greasy, not dry. Five stars because I dont know any place for a better breakfast!

I ate there last week. Food was great!! The owner goes out of his way to make sure you are satisfied. Very friendly, family oriented place!! Would definitely go back again!!
