Oh man what a cool bookstore. The selection is incredible for such a small space and they go the extra mile with things like handwritten book descriptions stuck in featured books. Whoever curated their shelves did an amazing job.

I enjoy, if not love, visiting independent bookstores when ever possible. It’s a 4/5 for me though. Why? As a rather larger than average human, I felt as though I was walking through a glass shop, not a book store. Overall, great selection of literature and other little fun knick knacks.

great selection, high quality knick-knacks to boot! In addition to very inviting atmosphere, the latte lounge adjacent renders ones senses into a pleasantly relaxed state upon entry, when the aromatic scent of multiple styles of brewed coffee wafts over to the entrance. The staff was attentive, but not invasive, and informative and friendly. The loyalty program certainly piqued my interest and Ill be sure to visit again when I need to bolster my bookcase! Thank you for a wonderful all-encompassing hometown bookstore experience.

A delightful bookstore with a great staff and a great atmosphere. They always have interesting things in stock, and if they dont have something I want, they order it and it comes in quickly! I love this place and always pop in, even when Im downtown doing something else.

They have a nice selection of books. Staff is friendly and more than willing to help with any book selection. The place is connected with the coffee shop which is always "a good thing" as Martha would say.

This store is amazing. Theres so much to choose from, its got a little bit of everything and the owners were amazing to talk with as well. We loved going shopping there and will definitely be back very soon. You must do on your way through oneonta, you wont be disappointed!

I picked out a novel called Kite Runner and was charged $27 when the prices werent listed and the price on the back of the book was $16.99. I called to see if they could refund me and apparently they only refund for in store credit. What a rip-off! Double check your receipts and books! Theyre more expensive than Barnes & Noble. Next time I will make the hour drive out to Utica.

Very homely, friendly environment. Owner is extremely knowledgeable on most subject matters and authors.From adult to children youre sure to find what you are looking for. Store also offers toys and other novelty items worth checking out.If you love books this is the place I would recommend to be. No other local place in town can match the excellent price or selection provided here.Grab a latte from next door come in and feel at home whether looking or buying and have a great time.

Disgusting and offensive customer service. Racist or ageist I dont know but I saw then berate a customer so badly that she was visibly upset. This place is snobby and makes me sick.

Excellent book store. Bestsellers available, childrens section, local interest books and more. So much well chosen inventory crammed into one store. Willing to special order if its not in stock. You can usually find a gift for anyone, and they have an assortment of childrens toys as well.

The shop has a calming atmosphere with great books and a coffee shop that is connected.

This store is simply amazing. They allowed our community group, KIWANIS OF ONEONTA, to come in and do a childrens story time. Very easy to work with and love the atmosphere.

"The Toad" as I affectionately call this amazing bookstore is a true gathering place for all who love to read and converse.Independant, warm antiques and comfy chairs invite to to sit, browse and chat. I have belonged to the book group for 6 years plus. This group is made up (alas 0of all women.. different ages, backgrounds and reading tastes. We often disagree but when we love a book it is awesome. We have great fun and discussions and feel like this is home away from home.

In the current age of big box bookstores, it is so refreshing to find a cozy bookstore with warmth and friendly faces. Brilliantly located next to and connected with a coffee shop, this is a great place to spend some time. Nicely decorated and just large enough to find a book youll love, its the perfect accent to Main Street Oneonta. Cant say enough good things about the staff either. They love being there and they know their inventory very well.

Will have all popular titles desired. If not, they will order for you at a competitive price and a timely fashion. Store is eloquently decorated making it a very comfortable and inviting experience. It also connects with a very good coffee shop next door during business hours. Excellent locally owned business.

There is delicious coffee and lunch next door, and you can sit down with a book or socialize with friends- comfy couches and fun decor. If they dont have a book, they will order it for you, and it will be there in a couple of days. Usually good, unique gift items there also.
