Greystone Inn & Suites in Tuscaloosa County
The restaurant is open to the public. The view is spectacular! The service is very good and the restaurant is very clean. For breakfast and lunch we were able to get delicious vegan options. I always look forward to going there.
MoreWe had dinner at the Inn. You can dine inside or outside. The view is beautiful. It is right on the lake and adjacent to the country club in the estates community. It is a good 15 minutes off the main road and all the way in the back of the community. It is dark and there are no street lights. They seem short staffed. Our server was friendly and polite, but not very efficient. It took about 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. We ordered the pork chop and our server didnt bring a knife to cut it. I finally got his attention after 10 minutes to ask for a steak knife. We never had our water glasses refilled and were only given a half glass to start. We got 2 pieces of bread for the 2 of us and it was very hard. They had a nice selection of wines. I was not impressed for the amount of money it cost. I expected much better service and quality. My salad had something in it that was hard and tasted like dirt. I am not sure if it was something with the lettuce or sunflower seeds. The restaurant and view are very pretty, but you can find better food and service elsewhere.
MoreWhat an incredible venue! We did not stay at the Inn but attended a rehearsal dinner here the night before a wedding. The room was gorgeous and had amazing views looking out onto Lake Toxaway. The staff was friendly and provided great service. I recommend getting an Old Fashioned since mine was one of the best I’ve had. Overall perfect night.
MoreJust photographed my first wedding here and it was insanely gorgeous!! I cant wait to work here again.
MoreService was great. Everyone is accommodating and friendly. We stayed in The Cooper Room in Hillmont. Very large room with beautiful view of the lake.We played pickleball and tennis all weekend (except when raining). Keurig machines and daily bottled water replacements for coffee. Our shower door was missing weatherstripping but they fixed it within 30 mins of reporting.Minor things: consumables are provided in hard-to-use, single-use containers. Tubes or wall mounted dispensers would be preferable. Outside alcohol is prohibited and drinks are very expensive, but then so is just about everything.Beautiful place though. Worth the trip
MoreGreystone Inn was not upfront about all charges associated with staying onsite. Was told we had access to the pool but was not told it had a cost associated with it.
MoreWe took my mom here to remember what would have been my parents 61st wedding anniversary. The steak and salmon was delicious along with the shrimp and grits (We did not expect the tomato sauce with it. One of us is allergic to tomatostomatoes. Crystal our server was amazing and Brandy, the bar tender was good to see. We met Brandy as our server at another local restaurant which has since closed. The Greystone Inns ambiance, attention to detail and impeccable service was top notch. Thank you all for a wonderful evening!
MoreI never write reviews (reallybut this is deserving. We were so excited to visit a few weeks ago and even met a couple on our travels who said they wanted to spend their anniversary at The Greystone. “Must be a fantastic place,” we thought to ourselves. But alas, we caught COVID. I called the day we were scheduled to arrive with the news and I couldn’t have asked for better treatment. They said they were sorry our trip was interrupted and then didn’t charge us a penny.I follow them on Instagram and truly can’t wait to finally visit this beautiful place and share my appreciation for their kindness and generosity in person. Thank you Greystone.
MoreMy husband and I had our wedding at The Greystone Inn and it was absolutely perfect. We rented out the entire Inn and our friends and family could not say enough nice things about the venue, staff and food. David, the event manager at Greystone, went above and beyond to make sure the day was perfect and put my Type A mind at ease. He helped coordinate with local vendors and when our outdoor wedding had to be moved inside last minute due to 20 degree weather with 40+ MPH wind gusts, he and the staff pulled it together seemlessly. We couldnt be more pleased with how the weekend festivities went and are forever grateful to this amazing place for the wonderful memories.Even if you arent hosting your wedding here, Greystone is a wonderful place to visit. The scenery cannot be beat and staying here is like being in your own home, but elevated. The food is delicious and the bar makes a fabulous Old Fashioned. Ultimately, its the staff that make this Inn one of the best. They will go to the ends of the Earth and back to make you feel welcome and at home. We will plan to go back as often as we can.
MoreThe Greystone Inn is a peaceful gem of a place that we love to escape to! It is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by picturesque views and interesting pieces of history throughout. The Greystone has been a favorite spot of ours to travel to over the years and was also the main location of our Spring wedding festivities and guest accommodations. I highly recommend visiting, and also hosting an event here if you have the opportunity. The staff are top-notch, everyone from the hotel manager to the kitchen staff and bartenders are so professional and welcoming. We truly could not have asked for a better place to have celebrated our engagement or hosted our wedding events! There are so many activities to partake in, or peaceful places to relax with a book, and its centrally located for hiking or day trips to Asheville, Brevard, Cashiers, Highlands, etc. Our guests enjoyed their time here as much as we do each time we visit. We look forward to enjoying the tranquility and fun that The Greystone offers for many years to come!
MoreBeautiful location. Staff so friendly and helpful. Enjoyed working on puzzle, sitting by fire pit, and reading by the lake. Many more activities for relaxing. Resturant is wonderful. Third time there and hope to go back.
MoreGreat getaway. We have been coming here for many years. Highly recommend it! Very interesting history of Lake Toxaway and the surrounding area.
MoreWe had a last minute change in vacation plans, and are so happy we landed at the Greystone inn!The staff was so friendly, the hotel was very clean, the views were unbelievable, and the beds were super comfortable. We cannot wait to return! It was such a nice retreat on beautiful Lake Toxaway
MoreMost relaxing and lovely Inn on Lake Toxaway! The luxury services provided are amazing. You will be so happy you made a plan to go.
MoreMy husband and I were apart of the wedding group staying there this weekend. Just a start to our unacceptable and disgusting stay here, last evening we were enjoying the after party and to say the employees were enjoying the perks of our party more than we were is an understatement. There was one employee who was not even dressed appropriately walking around absolutely hammered, falling and crying while other employees were making her feel it was perfectly fine to be enjoying her current state of being.. It was a very unpleasant experience to say the least. After that unfortunate situation, we went to calm down by the fire in the lodge itself and sat down to see SO SO many cockroaches !!!! I even went to the bathroom to try my best not to be sick and there were 20-30 all over THE PUBLIC RESTROOM!! To say we won’t be returning here is an understatement and I want everyone to know what they’re getting into by staying here. This is what you get for a $2000 weekend getaway.
MoreMy wife and I stayed here with our families after getting married in March, 2020. The staff were all great and the resort is a really relaxing place. Sadly, our stay was cut a few days short after the government banned private enterprise because of Covid. Despite facing the stress and uncertainty that came with the government forcing their company to close, all the staff were extremely kind and did a great job making sure we weren’t left out in the cold. We aren’t surprised The Greystone Inn survived considering the quality of the people who worked there and will definitely visit again some day.
MoreLong weekend for wifes birthday. Beautiful scenery, great food, great service. Winter has many amenities closed, but we had nice walks on the cart path - course looks amazing.
MoreOur first time here.. I love the place itself the surrounding mountains and waterfront dinning was amazing , the food was very good, I had the orange glazed salmon 🤌 it was d-lish , my husband had grilled sordfish but the one that stood out was the card broccoli....amazing the best way to cook and serve broccoli, we will be back for sure. Good job Chef &staff.... thank you
MoreThis place is just magical! What a fantastic mountain getaway. We also played their amazing (albeit priceygolfCourse. Food was good and reasonably priced. Grounds are simply beautiful.
MoreAbsolutely beautiful hidden gem! From the grounds, to the rooms, decor, staff, food and drinks...everything is top notch. One of the nicest places we have stayed in anywhere in the world.
MoreWe stayed at the Greystone after New Years, so it was relatively quiet on the grounds. Every staff member we encountered was so friendly and accommodating! The room was absolutely beautiful and we loved waking up to the views of the lake each morning. The in room fireplace was wonderful for ambiance and keeping warm. We didn’t realize just how secluded the inn was (from grocery stores/other restaurants), but the food options on site satisfied us! We did travel to the neighboring towns for lunch and dinner a few days of our stay, just to get a variety in options. Overall, we loved our stay and don’t have any complaints about the hotel/staff. We would love to stay again during the summer and use some more of the amenities! Highly recommend for a romantic getaway! You can’t beat the views.
MoreReally a 4.5 but Google only allows 4 or 5. Pros: bartender is very accommodating and went to search out my favorite vodka; food at the restaurant is mostly delicious; rooms are nice; location is lovely and around the corner from lots of hiking and biking trails. Cons: service is hit or miss. At the restaurant, the service is great, but room service is horrible, they dumped the food into a box in a pile. See picture. At the restaurant, it is not cheap but there’s were situations where they were clearly out of ingredients abs they didn’t make substitutions. The nighttime staff is southern friendly. The daytime staff with the exception of the manager acts as if it is a bother to interact with the patrons. The Hillside rooms were the best and offer lake views and private balconies. I would stay here again.
MoreThis was Thanksgiving and may not be representative of their regular menu. Theres were 3 choices for each course and they sounded great but the reality fell short. As far as taste goes I might have been happier at Golden Corral. On the plus side the view, the ambiance and the service were magnificent.Id sort of like to give it another try because the menus sound delicious but so did the Thanksgiving menu and given the prices I probably wont.
MoreDined here for lunch with my husband for our 33rd wedding anniversary. Enjoyed a delicious 5 star meal overlooking Lake Toxaway. Our friend who works there gave us a tour of the inn. It is historical, warm, cozy and simply beautiful. Didn’t stay overnight here but hope to do that in the future! Everything was charming! The staff was warm and friendly and the Inn was very clean!
More#throwbacktuesday to this amazing cozy breakfast from @thegreystoneinn nestled in the NC mountains, courtesy of my company’s work holiday party 🎉🎄….This gorgeous historic hotel (it only has 30 rooms!is tucked away on Lake Toxaway near Brevard, North Carolina, and is surrounded by a little marina, where you can take a complementary boat ride around the lake, launch kayaks, play tennis, or play golf on their nearby course.….For breakfast before we left, we had their seasonal almond milk oatmeal, topped with figs, candied orange peels, and candied walnuts. Everything else that we ordered, from the full breakfast to the side of crispy bacon, was completely made to order to the T, and it was a fantastic experience. 🥰 We cannot wait to be go back!….#Pimentoandprose #offthegridgreenville #gvltoday #gvl360 #gvlifestyle #gvldaily #whatsgoingongvl #instagvl #gvlfoodie #gvllifestyle #gvlguide #greenvillefoodie #greenvilletoday #greenvilleblogger #greenvillebloggers #upstatescbloggers #greenville360 #travelphotography #traveling #travelgram #travelblogger #hotel #nchotel #laketoxaway #breakfast #greystoneinn #thegreystoneinn #oatmeal #almondmilk
MoreMy husband and I enjoyed a magical weekend at the Greystone Inn for our second wedding anniversary. The inn is cozy and beautiful, the perfect spot for a romantic weekend! Our room was very clean, the staff was attentive and had an eye for detail, everyone made sure we had an amazing stay! The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. If you are looking for a place to have a romantic getaway, this is it!
MoreThe stay was delightful, but on both occasions, the dining room food was a *huge* disappointment. The breakfast and toast were hard & cold & the hash browns were burned & too spicey. Only offered hard link sausages. Both dinners were very disappointing. Not sure wed eat there again.
MoreEssentially a B- or a C+ experience. Views and grounds are very pretty. The place is showing its age, which is somewhat understandable considering it was originally built over 100 years ago. But the attention to detail was missing throughout our stay.On the plus side the room was spacious and had a great view. The deck had newer furnishings but the upholstered cushions were worn and covered with bird droppings so we covered them with a towel. Loud housekeeping employees (throwing laundry bags over the stair railingswoke us up day one. Having said that the staff was generally pleasant, just not top notch or skillful. Bar staff didn’t know the menu and couldn’t prepare cocktails correctly. He was nice enough, just untrained and all by himself with a crowd right before the boat cruise.I’m giving three stars, but we will pick another location next time we’re in Toxaway.
MoreOverall, a wonderful and relaxing experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was large and nicely appointed with a gas fireplace. The location is awesome with greats views everywhere you look. Food at the restaurant was top notch. We had great drinks at the bar and took some outside to enjoy the scenery. The inn is adjacent to a country club--we paid to use the beautiful pool a couple days. I recommend the evening cruise on the Miss Lucy for history and a tour of the lake. We also rented the little Lightning Bug and took a nice cruise by ourselves. The couples massage was wonderful and relaxing. On our way home we did the falconry class arranged by the Greystone and it was amazing: we lucked into being the only two in our class and got to fly Rufus, a red-tailed hawk, and Sweety Boy, a Harris hawk. Falconer Pete was patient, helpful, and very knowledgeable. We look forward to returning to the Greystone soon.
MoreThe Greystone Lodge is the perfect place to stay while in Gatlinburg! Everything is in walking distance. The room was incredibly clean and the staff was so kind. In the future when I return I will definitely book there again.
MoreAll too often; reviews are left by dissatisfied people...leaving one to wonder what motives are involved. This trip was a very special trip for us. That said, we did indeed encounter a couple of issues. What separates a potentially bad experience from a good...or excellent one (In this case), is how these hiccups are resolved. Our room was not ready for the time of check-in. We went to the Front Office and informed them that if the room was still not available, we would like to grab a quick bite to eat while we waited. A courteous, professional staff member who had heard this exchange greeted us and offered her sincere apologies. She proceeded to take us to the Bar area for a bite to eat and a Cocktail on them! Bartender informed us that she was indeed the General Manager of the Resort. Worth note, our room was ready before we were even served! Hardly an inconvenience, yet the Greystone went above and beyond accommodating us even though we were not upset in the least. Just a small example of what we noticed throughout our stay. Second issue was a scheduling conflict regarding a Sub-Contracted luxury service. This conflict caused my Fiancé and I to rearrange our entire day. Now, here is where it goes from not so pleasant to outstanding. I received a direct call from the General Manager while she was off duty and off site. She was very apologetic once again. One of my pet peeves are excuses. She offered none; only solutions. When we agreed on a course of action, I assumed it was over...on with the vacation. Throughout the rest of our stay, we had one of the best times and were treated as though we were the only Patrons. We enjoyed many meals at the Restaurant. Breakfast in particular is not to be missed. Belgian Waffles are literally the closest to authentic that we have had outside of Belgium. All members of the Staff were extremely courteous, humble, professional, prideful, and good at what they do. You cannot have a Team like this without SUPERLATIVE Leadership. Paulette is the General Manager for the Resort. She is without question one of the best Managers I have ever dealt with. From the start, Paulette performed her job with professionalism and grace. Just a true pleasure. So disappointed in myself for not getting the name of another Manager whom also deserves high praise. She was unfortunate enough to receive the initial telephone call during the scheduling mix-up. Her demeanor was both accommodating and empathetic. She also covered the cost of a meal for us without our prior knowledge. All of these generosities without one word spoken…they just did it. Steven is a Restaurant Manager who will not be forgotten. Anyone can go through the motions...it takes a special sort of person that truly cares and has the ability to make the Customer actually feel it. Steven is a genuine Gentleman and Asset to the Greystone. While on the topic of the Restaurant; Emily and Madison are two of the finest young wait Staff we have experienced in a long while...we already miss them. Regardless of what path these young Ladies decide to take…they no doubt have very bright futures. Strong work ethic and a positive attitude are strengths both of them have. Although everyone is treated with the amount of respect we were indulged with. It is important that this actually be recognized. Entire Team is just top-notch. Upon check out, there was a significant difference in the bill from what was expected. Again, Paulette stepped in and took care of a portion of the bill she determined the Greystone let us down in. She did this without our wanting, nor asking for it. Matter of fact...if I did not mention it, nothing would have been discussed! We arrived at the Greystone, had a couple of issues that became the responsibility of the entire Establishment to correct. Greystone Inn, helmed by a Crackerjack Team of Managers, supported by well-trained and prideful Staff will no doubt become bi-annual trip for us.
MoreThe inn on lake Toxaway along with the restaurant and bar is open to the public. Go to enjoy the day on the lake or to the Bar for an enjoyable time with Helen, the bartender. She will have you trying something new, then go outside to sip your drink overlooking the lake to relax with the sun going down.
MoreWe spent 4 nights here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and I hated to leave and cannot wait to go back. We stayed in the Mansion and had a beautiful room overlooking the lake. The food at the Lakeside Dining Room was delicious and the drinks and snacks available in the Inn Bar were perfect! I particularly loved their selection of Moscow Mules and their beer and wine selection is nice. We enjoyed a Pickleball Lesson at the Country Club just next door to the Inn. The tennis, croquet and Pickleball courts are part of the Lake Toxaway Country Club and guests have privileges at the Country Club. We had a delicious dinner in the Country Club dinning room and a great lunch on the outdoor patio overlooking the beautiful golf course. The food was again, delicious and the views are awesome. Each guest has an opportunity to take a midday or evening cruise on the wooden electric boat, Miss Lucy and that is a wonderful experience providing a beautiful your of the captivating Lake Toxaway. The Lake Toxaway Marina is also next door and you can rent boats there for an hour, 2 hours, a day or weekly. One of the highlights of our trip was the Lakeside Picnic. The staff layed our a blanket with roses in a vase and a beautiful chacuteires experience, a red and white checkered picnic basket and a bottle of wine for us. We loved the food and the beautiful view for our romantic afternoon. The staff are awesome and very friendly and accommodating. You cannot go wrong with a visit to Lake Toxaway and Greystone Inn!
MoreMy husband and I booked the Greystone for a 1 night getaway to treat ourselves before our second baby arrives. Upon arrival the property is gorgeous, with stunning lake views and plenty of outdoor spaces to relax and feel like youre the only people there. The king premium room was very large and comfortable and to our surprise had its own private outdoor space and entrance from the exterior of the building which was lovely. It does however have a large room situated above it making for a lot of noise, not great when you come somewhere for peace and quiet with the hope of sleeping in. We requested checkout at 11:30am, instead of the standard 11am since we were visiting the spa in the morning and were hoping to freshen up before our trip home and unfortunately they could not accommodate this. The food was good, nothing to write home about, but what the food lacked the service made up for. Thank you to the restaurant and bar staff for being attentive and pleasant. The spa was a HUGE disappointment, I arrived for my treatment (appt made weeks in advanceand the women wasnt expecting me. She took me directly to the treatment room, with my bags in tow (since we had to checkout prior). It felt rushed and completely unprofessional. I was not offered a locker for my belongings, or a robe to relax and enjoy the spa environment. The masseuse did not wash her hands in the room prior to or after the treatment which during times of Covid was especially discomforting. The treatment itself was a 60 minute massage which lasted 52 minutes. Afterward she met me outside the room with water and escorted me back to the main reception area, walking right past the comfortable seating area in the back of the spa.I sat down in the check in area for 2 minutes to finish my water and she came back out and asked me to leave because they were expecting the next clients. At this time is was 11:10 and my treatment began at 10:08. I was absolutely flabbergasted by the experience, so much so that I went back to the mansion to speak to Autumn at the reception area. She took my feedback and said a manager would be calling me within the hour to discuss. I am still waiting for that call. Since we could not enjoy the spa, we sat outside at the mansion to enjoy the view before leaving, and walked once more by our room, which at 12:30 was exactly how we left it. Meaning a late checkout was entirely possible. Overall, a really beautiful property, but for the amount you pay per night, the amenities and services as advertised were not at all what we received.
MoreI really loved Gretystone Inn. We had a glass of champagne on arrival and it just had a really comfortable yet elegant feel. Its so beautiful and I think really good value for money. We had a King Premium Room, which was really large in size and well decorated- although the carpet could do with replacing or a good industrial cleaning. Had a lovely electric fireplace and a delicious mint chocolate for turn down service. I really enjoyed the heated bathroom floors. The location is beautiful. Its a bit of a windy road getting up there, so if you suffer from car sickness, it would be worth bringing some dramamine just in case. Its right on the water, and they have little fire pits throughout. The service is really friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant- such good food and a beautiful lake view. Also very good value for money in my opinion.Only reason I did not give them 5 stars is that the room needed a good cleaning. The base of the lamps by the bed for example hadnt been dusted in what looked like ages, and thats kind of an obvious go to clean when you see dust piling up next to the bed, so made me wonder what else wasnt being cleaned in there. The shower also had two random hairs. During a time with COVID you would imagine cleaning would be amped up, so makes me wonder what normal practice is. They also have us 2 small water bottles in the room and didnt replace the one- not sure if that was an oversight or you just get one small bottle per person per night. A small touch that could go a long way. Then one easy fix for them would be to allow your cellphones to be charged on both sides of the bed- possibly get those lamps with the USB chargers.I know the cleanliness thing seems like a big one but although very dusty, I didnt feel like it was dirty, if that makes sense. I would still highly recommend and would definitely go back.Room Tip- next time, we would avoid staying in the Inn main building and do the other building. As you can imagine with an old building, you can hear quite a lot- we were above reception, so we could hear that area, although I will say, it wasnt that noisy! Also, which bothered me more, is come afternoon you can smell the fryer from the bar kitchen till the late evening. That might not bother everyone but its not something I enjoyed.
MoreMy wife and I stayed at the Inn while we were in town looking at Lake property. We stayed in the hillmont section, and loved the room. Not only did the restaurant manager give us our requested table for dinner, but was there again early the next morning to greet us for breakfast. Dinner was excellent, as was breakfast. We didnt find a lot we liked, so we will be back, and will stay at the Greystone Inn again. Our compliments to the entire staff. Thanks.Mike and Linda ThompsonGreenville, SC
MoreWe loved it so much during our weekend stay in March, we decided to get married there this summer! It was cold during our visit so the in-room fire place was a treat! Theres so much to do in the area, everyone on site is so sweet and helpful, most of the food was delicious. And its a GORGEOUS and peaceful location. The dog loved it too :We can not WAIT to share this gem with out friends and family in a few months!
MoreWe had a wonderful time on a last minute weekend getaway! The room we had was absolutely beautiful and we were able to bring our dog with us. I work in the customer service industry myself and the staff was top tier and so super nice and helpful. The restaurant and bar staff were also super nice and fun to talk to. There is lots to do in the area and we will for sure be back to enjoy this mountain hideaway again. Samson gives it four paws and we give it two thumbs up.
MoreMy wife bought us a weekend stay here as a gift and it was wonderful. Rooms are spacious and very nice, heated bathroom floor was a nice touch. Fireplace made our chilly Feb evening cozy. Great on site restaurant and bar with light eats.
MoreWe stayed in the Baily room, it was amazing, the views were spectacular. We were even able to bring our dogs for a charge. The bed was comfortable, and you can see the lake without getting out of it. Itß was too warm to light the gas fire place, or use feather comforter. Dinner was good, breakfast not so- and the only negative. Service in all areas was superb and staff was cheerful and helpful! Highly recommend
More50th Anniversary trip & the Mansion room was great for relaxing, room location, amenities, lake views, etc. Fireside seating w/gas logs was great. But, BEWARE of restaurant.Lunch was what should have been a simple pimento cheese sandwich which was pimento cheese between what tasted & consistency of like "cake layers" of something awful. Also a Caesar Salad that looked like a side-salad portion you would get at a fast-food restaurant. Service was super-slow with only ~20% seated.Dinner was ordered as a Trout & a Halibut entree, server brought two Trout orders. Again, service was so slow with about 4-5 tables seated that my wife decided to eat about 1/2 of the trout (not her desire at allinstead of sending back and waiting forever for the correct entree. Terribly disappointing, again!.Then, when I called after our visit to get a final corrected receipt of our stay, they wanted to charge me postage for mailing the receipt. Are you people serious! Talk about nickel & dime service.11/03/20: The General Manager responded and understood the restaurant mistakes and graciously made up for our unfortunate dining experiences. Very nice, professional and super customer service. Such a great place and obviously very Classy, we will be back to stay again. Thank You.
MoreWe had our wedding at the Greystone Inn. David Wright made sure our day was special. He made only the best recommendations. He picked the perfect wine, the perfect beer, and amazing entertainment. Oh goodness, the rehearsal dinner food and reception was AMAZING. And we got to enjoy the most beautiful views in North Carolina. Our room was beyond beautiful. Every single guests told me how much they loved the accomodations.
MoreThe property and lake are beautiful! We enjoyed sitting out in the rocking chairs enjoying the view of the lake. This property , however was also very disappointing.Beware, On Sundays, the restaurant closes down and nothing around is open for lunch. plan ahead. Also, be prepared to handle your own luggage. We were not offered help getting our luggage into or out of our room. Also, there was no coffee service on Saturday or sunday until we asked for it at 9:30am. The room we stayed in was in the original in and was very small. It was ok but the heated floors didnt work and the overhead A/c unit went on and off again throughout the night which kept me awake. On our first day our room was not ready at their normal check in time and knowing that check out is at 11 it seems like there was no reason our room was not able to get ready on time. Also, the second day , the teenage cleaning staff used a staff key to open our door to our room without knocking in the middle of the day. He opened the door and then quickly closed it again ( as he was probably embarrassedbut it was very unprofessional. The staff and service overall was lacking but the property was beautiful. I would not recommend the inn to family and friends due to the lack of service.8/30/20- In response to the owners comments to me: Thank you for your reply. I did call you back when you sent your reply and I left you a voicemail asking for you to call me back so I could clarify some of my review comments but I am still waiting for a call back.First, regarding the restaurant hours and food.....We were not told during check in that your bar area served any food. We happened to go to the bar the first night and saw a menu there and talked with kind bartender. This is great and would have been nice to know upon check in.Secondly, we did get help with our bags up to our room on the day we arrived. The young man who helped was very nice. My comment was regarding our departure when I was walking to the lobby from my room with my hands full. I tripped in the main lobby spilling water everywhere and dropping my luggage. Your front desk staff did not even say anything to us until I asked for something to clean the water spill up with. After asking for help, they went to get something to wipe up the spill. They never helped me pick up the luggage scattered in the lobby. Then when we were waiting to check out right after that and were behind another couple who were offered help with their luggage. As we checked out, after I was genuinely struggling with my luggage they did not offer any luggage assistance.Third, the young man that walked into our room after using the service key did not knock the first time. We are certain of this. We were staying in a small room and had no noise on. After the young man opened the door, he looked in and closed it immediately without saying a word. I am sure he was super embarrassed and was not sure what to do. People make mistakes I know but again , I would expect someone to say something to us. The same young man returned about 2 minutes later, knocked on the door, and asked if we wanted our room serviced. One more thing to suggest as my husband mentioned on his review. Plan a better time for lawn services and treatment. We were sitting out enjoying the lake with many other customers and your lawn service started spraying weed killer right next to us, followed by the blower. It seems like the middle of the afternoon on a weekend would not be the best time to provide these services.I will be happy to discuss any comments further if you would like to call me back.
MoreThis place deserves more then 5 Stars. I have traveled to several countries and staid in countless 5 diamond star resorts/Hotels and this place blew them all out the water. There attention to detail and there customer service exceeds anything I have experienced. The first night when we arrived we were greeted by Autumn and Marias. They were extremely prompt with helping us to the room and made sure we were very well taken care of. This exceptional service continued through the rest of our stay. every aspect of our stay was surrounded by Good vibes, prompt service, and there ability to go above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Melanie S. Has a good team and was such a pleasure to deal with. from taking time on a busy Memorial day weekend to give us information about the Inn herself, and catering to our every need she made us feel so welcomed. This same exceptional service continued to the restaurant where Christian, Jay, and Keshia went above and beyond to make our stay special and a once in a lifetime experience!!! We will defiantly be returning and would highly recommend this to any one.
MoreThe perfect stay! Everyone was super friendly. The inn was perfectly clean and the rooms amazing. The bed extremely comfy. We had a full moon so it just made our stay very romantic. Dinner was not great which was a disappointment. High prices, but very average. The service however was very good and the brunch made up for the less than average food at dinner.
MoreWow! It’s the best word I know to describe this place. From the moment I arrived at the property I was impressed. This is a high quality boutique hotel ( 31 rooms as of 2020 that is nestled right on Lake Toxaway. The staff was courteous and professional. The layout is simple yet unique. My stay was in the “Mansion” portion of the property. I found the Armstrong room which is a king premium room with a lake view to be fantastic. If you aren’t sure about this place just book it! You will love it. Go relax. Detach from technology and renew yourself at this beautiful hotel. Make sure to tell Christian and Molly hello for me : Enjoy your stay!
MoreOur Office took some time off to visit and experience the new ownership of the Inn. We walked to area and enjoys the views of the lake and then had a great lunch there. It was a nice break from our busy schedule and we really enjoyed the meal! Highly recommend a stay and meal. We hope to do this again. By the way, the restaurant is open to the public so a great place for locals to stop in for a quick bite.
MoreI cant recall the last time I came home from a weekend away feeling so relaxed. The inn and grounds and the surrounding lake and mountains were just the perfect place to chill out, read, drink and enjoy our friends company. I would have loved to stay longer. The lakefront balcony rooms were well worth the upgrade. I could almost have spent the weekend there. Look forward to returning.
MoreLoved it! So quaint, quiet and right in the lake. They offer free lake boat tours in the evening with some great history of the lake. Definitely bring your favorite beverage for the ride! Nice golf course if you like to golf. Boats for rent at the marina next door as well.
MoreBeautifully renovated and so peaceful! My husband and I spent one night in the main house in a gorgeous room with a full lake view. The front staff was welcoming and upgraded our room just by asking nicely! Great bar...grab a drink and take the free 1 hour sunset cruise. Very informative about the lakes history. The grounds well kept and there were several places to sit and enjoy the lake view. Had dinner on the patio of the dining room. Both the food and service were fantastic. Had to rush out in the morning and they made us breakfast to-go in 5 minutes. Highly recommend. You can take out kayaks right from the property but we didnt have time.
