Grodno Castle in Powiat wałbrzyski

Very nice old castle. You have to walk up a path for half a mile to get to this place. When you get up to the top there is a place for you to eat or drink. There is also bathrooms up there. You have to pay to enter the main Castle but you can walk the grounds for free. Just plan on walking for approximately 15 minutes to go up to the entrance of the castle

Not very interesting on the inside. A long walk and very crowded. Not really worth the stop unless you’ve run out of other things to see

Interesting castle - not all that much remains, but well worth a visit and walk around. Information signs in English, and even the information video about the region (projected onto the ceiling while you watch lying on bean bagshad subtitles in English.

Great views, Great staff Good food. Had a wonderful time hated the stairs to the tower.

Beautiful medieval castle with a lot of fascinating exhibits

The castle is located on the top of the Hoina Mountain (450 m above sea levelin the village of Zaguzze-Slensk in the gmina Walim in the Walbrzych County of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship of Poland. From the walls and towers of the castle there is a beautiful view of the Bystrzyca River. The road to the castle is paved with cobblestones. I recommend you to visit.

Not the most impressive castle I ever visited. The sundial and the torture room was the best part about it if I had to pick... The tickets were expensive compared to other castles that have more to offer like Gołuchów Castle. The armors and weapons were also made of cardboard. I was hoping we could see the view from the tower but unfortunately it was closed. Instead there was a room where you could lie down and watch a movie about this place, which was really nice. Over all it wasnt a bad experience but I recommend Gołuchów castle more.

Back here again after 11 years. Beautiful and mystery castle but nothing has changed for better to be honest. Disintegrating fence, gate opened from 9am but castle available to enter from 10am. The tower was closed, thats a pity as it is a main attraction there I think.

Went today as in excitement forgot to check if it is open in the pandemic or not but the place was A+ Loved the forest. Ideal place for short trekking and also down the hill there is a lake which is worthwhile to visit by.

Its a great place to spend one hour. The parts walkable of the castle are in a pretty good shape, including a scary torture chamber. Take the audio guide, its included in the ticket price.

The castle is a total disappointment on the inside.A dusty DIY medieval horror show with little value. The 10 minute nature film at the end is cute but totally off-place. The castle is at a high point of a beautiful area but you dont even get the chance to look around from it, as the whole tour is inside the ran-down rooms of the building.Does not worth the entry fee on one hand, but what is 100% sure is that youd rather want to spend that time in and around the nearby Ksiaz castle! Uncomparable really. We were sorry for not skipping this one altogether to be able to spend the whole day over there.The restaurant is nice, so Id recommend to just walk up to Grodno, eat/drink something, take a couple pictures and move on.

A walk through the forrest followed by a guided tour of the castle. The torture chamber and interactive exhibition were of particular note for us historical and nature types.

One can only enter with a group, so you can wait for an hour before getting in. The tour is quite interesting, our guide was charming. Minus point for the absolutely destroyed roads to the top.

Nice area. No English speakers on site and not possible to visit without a guide. Finally we left the castle without visiting it since there were no tours available in other languages.

The castle looks very nice and picturesque from the distance and it really is. The tour inside is however a big disappointment. Not too much of interior to see and most of the things just comes from somewhere else plus the guide was horrible and I think he was the only one to think that his jokes were funny. Walk around but save your money and skip the tour.

We enjoyed the place but the track leading to castle was muddy and rocky. Difficult to navigate. The was different torture equipment throughout the castle and video at the end.Wear appropriate shoes and enjoy the area

The guide was amazing, we learned alot about history and there was an english audio guide avaliable along side the polish one that walked you through the castle. Our guide was lovley and energetic, he was really fun to listen to! And even spoke a little english to my friend who does not understand Polish. Overall an amazing experience. There was even an interactive exhibit to incourage taking care of wildlife, and a cinema where you wach a video about the place lying down on bean bags while the movie is played on the celing. It was amazing

It was nice a bit of walk from the main road. To the castle you going with guide which one has great knowledge about the history! My family like the place special the views from the top !

Beautiful castle, staff is very well prepared to give a guided tour.

We had a tour guide and he told us a lot of stories about this castle. Form the top of the cast there are nice views on the neighborhoods. Inside looks like at museum some exhibits have nothing in common with the history of the castle ( like machines for punishmentbut was put there to draw attention. There is a free parking and toilet in cafe.

Great little trek through the woods to get up to the castle. Great history, so much to learn about and see for a small castle, and the torture chamber!! Youll have to come and see for yourself. Superb café on site too with excellent food.

A spectacular castle characterizes by its unique construction style and organic pattern. It was built in 1193 around a watch tower which was built around 850. The castle is situated on top of the Choina mountain. There is a legend that Princess Margareta was starved to death in this castle. The entry fee is 20 zl. It takes 15-20 minutes to climb up to the castle from the parking lot at the hill of the mountain.

Nice castle. Quite interesting, focused on torture from 500 years ago.There is a beautiful point of view at the top of the tower.But the entrance is WAY TO EXPENSIVE for the content offered. 20 złoty per person for 45min of visit...

Castle has an outstanding views with real castle feeling to it. There is still a lot to be done to fully restore the castle, but it surely is a not to miss tourist attraction in the region. The are some intense restoration work so soon I hope it will be in its full glory.

Hidden treasure. Wabrzych region has so many lovely places to discover. Grodno Castle is one of them. Walk up through the forest to discover this 700 year old castle built to keep troublesome Czechs out! Heehee

Very nice old castle. Impressive view from the top of the tower. Still being restored so not on the tourist radar yet, making it wonderfully tranquil. Will only get better as more works are completed.

We had a lovely family trip to Grodno Castle. It is a slight walk uphill and kids may whine about it, but it is a climb through a beautiful forest. Definitely worth it. Entry to the castle was a bit steep for such a small castle, but you do see your money being used for renovations.

Ticket is a little bit pricy but still an interesting castle to visit.

Beautiful nice castle, miraculously preserved and continuously renovated. Theres a short climb from the main street to the gate but nothing challenging. Theres a big restaurant and souvenir shop up front, and ticket stand near the entry to the historical part. Every hour a guided tour begins (included in the ticket priceand guides (especially Mr. Andrzej!are super entertaining and honestly involved with the place, working there for many years. You get to see some historical exhibitions, stuffed animals display, small torture chamber cellar, climb a tower to see a breathtaking view and throw a coin into the wishing well (or touch wishing wall if you miss the well). Id definitely recommend stopping by and joining a tour.

Amazing view, a must see place for sure and would be good to take a good camera and take pictures from the tower. Dont forget to see also the city around where you can have a great view from the dam.

Another beautiful medieval castle on a nice walk up a small mountain. lots of restorations at the moment so some parts are temporary closed (a good thing). However, still looks wonderful. Be sure to make it up the tower.. a must see.A better food menu and grill wouldve made it more enjoyable in the yard downstairs. Seems like a lot of un utilized space.

A ruined castle that has a wonderful charm. The views are amazing. Getting there requires a bit of walking - but definitely worth it. The price of admission is perhaps a little high. But it is nevertheless a wonderful place and a must-see for families.

I visited this place during the summer. I had a chance to be guided by old style fellow, who was extremally nice and likeable. Although there is really not much to see inside the castle a view from the top will compensate it. I also liked this picturesque well in the courtyard and the gate of the castle. Moreover you will surely fall in love with the sourrounding forest and riverside.

The setting of the castle is awesome, with the walk up the hill being the nicest part of the visit.But the place seems to be run for a quick profit. The castle has little to offer, no visible efforts to renovate it, displays are pitiful.Though there is a restaurant, but the price-quality ratio is pretty bad.They dont even bother to install proper toilets (there are some very stinky portable loos that they were forced to offer to be able to operate). Keep cost down, charge steep fees.To get there you also need to pay to cross the little bridge. Honestly? Get into your car and visit some castles in Czech - much better experience.

Great castle, but many rooms are ruined and not that many open. Great place to climb is the tower. Great mountain view opens there.

This is such a fascinating place! If youre into history (or even if you are not and just want to climb a castle tower), you would really enjoy looking at the ruins of this 13th century castle. The torture room (with its weapons of medieval torturewas especially interesting and gives lots of insight into the lows of human nature.

Amazing mid ages castle on the uphill surrounded by a wood. A super view from the tower makes you see the wonderful landscape around, the river and all the mountains. Theres a dungeon with an interesting story, a room of torture and a tower. The half of the castle is under reconstruction. 10 zlotes for the entrance. 10 minutes walk from the road as you cant get there by car. So park your car and enjoy.
