Very helpful staff. Good selection.
Rented some outdoor sound equipment for a concert in the park. The equipment was surprisingly affordable to rent and was exactly what we needed.
Most of the staff there is awesome. The only problem weve had is with the older gentleman. Hes kinda rude and grumpy. I love the store except for him.
Bought a Mitchell Guitar here a few months ago. We love it. The staff and service was great.
Great place. But all employees wont help you they rather play on there phone. And corporate tells them to sell broken guitars. When employees say its bad and dont want to sell it.
Friendly staff. Nice selection.
Great shop beautiful guitars, great selection, check it out 👍🎶
Good place but just watch out for this old white dude with long blonde hair who looks he couldnt make it with his band 30 years ago. He was very pushy on selling me a repair warranty. And i sensed some animosity when I went back for a return - probably a closet racist if you ask me. The younger sales representatives seemed much better at offering service (probably because they arent prejudiced).
Pretty clean and nice. Everyone is cool. Sometimes they have a “you’re bothering me attitude.”
Guitar center is a great place to shop for gear. You can test out so many things for basically as long as you want. The workers are very helpful and friendly. The only thing that was kinda sus was I asked for a military discount and showed my ID and the man said hed give it to me but I checked my receipt when I got home and I didnt get the discount. Oh well lol its okay
Guitar Center is one of my happy places. Alex was great and very helpful in answering all of my questions. Was able to finance for a beautiful Paul Reed Smith electric/acoustic guitar in a short amount of time. Zero down, 0% interest, with a 5% back store credit. Cant beat that.
Worst guitar center Ive ever been to. Its no surprise the company is going bankrupt, but this particular location takes the prize for worst run store.
So many beautiful options for everyone to choose from. Staff was very friendly and attentive.
Went into Guitar Center Riverdale on a Friday evening to pick up a practice amp, strings, picks and some other gear I needed. Troy (the name on receiptimmediately asked me if I needed help as soon as I entered the store. I did indeed need help as I was on my dinner break and had to get in and out as soon as possible. Troy knew exactly where every item was that I required. I am very happy with the products and the service Guitar Center offered me. Thank you again Troy!
Im from Nevada and was really looking forward to exploring this store, but upon arriving I noticed that a face mask was required. The young kid monitoring the front door was extremely rude about it. I wont be back. I just wish people would realize the Covid-19 virus is so small it goes right through face masks as if they werent even there and there is no reason to treat others so poorly. I won’t forget this horrible experience and I’m sure Sweetwater appreciates the new business.
This place has a wide variety of items. We came in to have them fix something on his new guitar that he had just bought that week. We were sent to the repair section. They were able to fix it so that was really nice. They also sell used amps which was reasonably priced.
What else can I say about Guitar Center that hasn’t already been said? I bought an electronic drum kit for my daughter. It was a Sunday, so the regular drum specialist wasn’t there, but the young man (sorry I forgot his namewho was there was very helpful, and even carried it out to my car for me. Great prices and great selection. I drove down to Utah just to shop at Guitar Center since there isn’t one in my hometown in Idaho.
Horrible customer service! Don’t offer much on trade-ins, and other employees tend to threaten customers. Never had a problem at other guitar centers. No more business at this location. Really disappointed!
Found the guitar my husband had been wanting. No help from any of the employees. Brought it home to find out that the bridge was not even screwed down. It was a joke. Went to the store in Orem & they were even worse. Finally got some answers & help at the Taylorsville store.
The employees are kind and very knowledgeable. They are happy to answer any questions you might have and are more than willing to give advice if you ask for it!
My husband ordered a guitar back in December. His order kept getting pushed back for months. After calling multiple times for an order status they would tell him it would be a couple more weeks. Today when he called (almost 4 months since said order was placedhe was informed this guitar was no longer available and couldn’t be ordered. It had been this way for a while now as he was told. They probably would have never told him the guitar wasn’t coming considering it wasn’t coming for a long time.
I worked with Troy to try and get the guitar that best suited me. He was very patient, and I was very picky. Would recommend to a friend.
I was on the prowl for a guitar and had been looking for some time but I just couldnt find any that really called to me that werent way out of my price range but then saw a used one sitting in the back corner coated in dust and a bit ruffed up so I asked about it and asked if I could try it out I was in love so I told them that I wanted to adopt this black beauty and now she has a good home
I wanted to get my granddaughter a keyboard for Christmas not knowing what to get a use I was extremely satisfied and happy with their personnel who directed me with the best keyboard for her and on my way out I happened to see some bongos that I wanted just to have around the house so somebody wanted to grab them and start playing I bought me some of those great price and the person that helped me just Im extremely happy good place
Whether you are interested in pursuing a musical career, or just dabble in music as a hobby, Guitar Center is a music-lover’s paradise. It was one of the first stops I made after I got married so that I could pick up a digital piano for my home. They have everything you would need to start your own band - live sound systems, synthesizers, keyboards, drums, guitars, etc. I also have to give a major shout-out to their rental services. I didn’t even realize that they offered rentals until last month, but they set me up with the perfect setup for me to provide live entertainment at a work Christmas party. Every time I visit, it is like I’m a kid in the candy store again!
Guitar center is a great place for me to find what i want to get. The workers are very helpful and knowledgeable. It is nice that we can test out a lot of the gear before we buy it.
I would shop somewhere else if I had the choice. Every time I go here the employees act as if Im a bother. I went recently went to get my brother a new bass guitar for Christmas that I was really excited about, the guy who helped me managed to make this a bad experience.
I came here for a banjo book and some banjo fingerpicks and a thumbpick and they delivered! Employees are always super knowledgeable, kind, and eager to help. The variety of music books there is incredible. Whether you want to buy a purple banjo, a book of Disney songs to play on the harmonica, or the best guitar on the market, the Guitar Center is your place.
20 years or whatever-->> these guys have been awesome! Stevo has helped me nearly every transaction. He has incredible patience and so excellent with me and my other family members that have bought from him. Guy is awesome. Eleric is so knowledgeable about effects etc... and extremely helpful. Thanks to everyone!
I was looking for a new acoustic for my grandson and found a smoking package deal on GC.com. It said it was available for pickup at Riverdale so I went to the store to see if I could just get it there or had to buy online. It just started today, and when I went in I asked Colton about it and he checked with Mike. They had the package (guitar, soft case, auto tuner, picks, and a second set of stringsin the store. They met the internet price without hesitation and were knowledgeable and very service oriented.Great experience and would definitely recommend. Those two were great representatives for the Company. Thanks again guys, my grandson hasnt stopped playing since we got home.
The most horrible customer service you can possibly imagine! I bought a hundred dollar harmonica the size of a tv remote. The one in the store had broken plastic pieces in it, so we ordered another from the website and it was delivered to the store. This one was also banged up but appeared intact so i opened and blew through it. There was a rattling inside of the harmonica and the whole left side of it did not work. They would not let me exchange it for another one or refund my money. They said because I had put my mouth on it (somehow I was supposed to know it was broken before using it ). Lacy, The store manager and her associate were belligerent and rude. I left so angry. Every time I get my tax return I spend it there, I have bought three guitars, several harmonicas, 3 dulcimers a keyboard with midi controller, a vox tube amp and recording equipment . (Pictures included I will never buy so much as a guitar pick or set of strings from this awful establishment ! They will lose so much future business over a $100 harmonica!
As a total drum beginner, I went in looking for a specific electronic drum set and whatever additional equipment would be necessary to get me started. I was greeted at the door and - after explaining my situation - they showed me the exact kit on the floor room so I could play around on it for a bit. After confirming that this is the kit I wanted, they walked me through pedal, throne, and stick options to make sure I was ready to play as soon as I got home. We ended up talking about music and trading a couple recent favorite bands -- all in all it was a great experience and Ill definitely be going back.Shout out to Colton for great customer service and being an all around cool dude!
Not the best customer service. Asked to see some guitar cases for my son taking beginning guitar. I was directed to cases $170 to over $200. I asked about a case I saw online that was a padded case with straps so he could carry it into school with all his other bags. The girl at the counter straight up just told me "Nah" on that one and she would check in back to see if they had a $100 one for acoustic guitars. After ten minutes of completely being ignored I walked up to the counter and was told if her stock room had it they would have called her by now. No mention of the one I previously wanted to purchase. I just walked out. Guess you have to be big time to even be acknowledged in that store. No chance I would ever go back. We went down and gave our business to someone that appreciated it.
Great selection of guitars on the floor. Helpful employees. Kinda pushy on financing after I said I wasnt interested but thats okay. Very very cool store.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. They suggested a better quality and less expensive cord than the one I had picked. Im so glad I went there.
Guitar center was good they gave me a good price for my items they were kind generous and courteous. They were quick evaluating the price. The store in front is really nice. I waited for an hour and a half just for it open Im that excited when I go to guitar center is the best place to buy guitars period.
Spent a half hour at GC the other day getting help stringing my classical guitar...not just "lemme do this for ya", but "here, let me show you how".Their help was gratefully appreciated and reflects their commitment to supporting bourgeoning musicians!
I am a voice artist and have my own home studio. Thus, I need a reliable and reasonably priced source for all my sound equipment. And you know, theres always a need to pick up some extra guitar picks and mic cords for on the road. Ive used this Guitar Center numerous times. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable about sound equipment - like knowing when to buy balanced or unbalanced cords or jacks. Go in and check out the array of instruments and amps, too. Ive got my eye on a pair of powered monitors to add to my sound string. I recommend Guitar Center for every serious sound or music creative or just a place to check out decent prices on equipment.
Im not a serious musician. But I like to mess around on my guitars and once in a while I find myself in need of supplies to maintain my habit. I came in here looking for some replacement bridge saddles for a knockoff strat. The staff was courteous and eager to help me out. The guy manning the audio area was a touch pushy with the upsale tactics when I asked him about headphones, but it wasnt a big deal. They had what I needed and I went home satisfied.
Wasnt too impressed with the customer service here. An associate showed us the area what we were looking for and hardly saw again. Had to look up specs to the product online because he was either not there or didnt know. They have a great product but their customer service sucks
Hey guys, so I went here the other day, hoping to grab the daily pick. But I missed out. I just wanted to say something, Troy is a great guy. He is helpful, nice, and patient. If you are going to grab a guitar stick with Troy!
Place is going into bankruptcy... could find anyone interesting in helping me with looking for a trans acoustic guitar. Instead they treated me as if I went to waste my time. Found a better deal online for half the price. No a veteran friendly place...
Bought and sold dozens of items over the years from Guitar Center. Im far and away from what youd consider a top dollar spender, but I spend enough. The last few times Ive come in to trade stuff Ive been asked the same question by the same guy right at the beginning of our exchange, "Whats your asking price?" Im not sure it even matters if were not having a negotiation about it. So why bother asking?Ill skip the name drop, but he knows who he is. And Im pretty sure our frustration with one another is mutual. This will be my last time doing business with Guitar Center. Ill just get what I need from one of the local shops or Amazon. Its not a surprise a company like this is headed straight for the toilets.I stand corrected, Ill probably come in and buy all that deep discounted merchandise youll have to offload once the company goes under. THAT will be the only reason I will walk through those doors again.
I like to get in and get out as quickly as possible when I shop. I knew what I wanted and took it straight to the register. They then spent the next 20 minutes trying to find an empty cardboard box.
It is slow and quiet when I go. I try to get there near close. Staff is very layed back. They do there jobs very well but nobody seems to be uptight. Very friendly as well. I live 10 min from gc . I just bought the Roland td-17 Kvx model And before but I would go in there to familiarise myself with it. Staff was very cool later to try to rush me out.
Very helpful group here. They helped get me everything I needed to get my wifes electric guitar up and going. Prices felt pretty decent and there was plenty to see and get excited about. Easy place to find a gift!
Wow, we love this place. On our last visit we tested studio headphones. My daughter needs a new pair for her recording studio. There were over 16 different pairs she could test and find out which ones fit the best and sounded the best.My youngest daughter always samples the ukuleles and guitars. This last trip she plugged a ukulele into the amp just to hear what amplified sound would sound like. She loved it!Ive purchased a pair of Harbinger v2312s, Yamaha keyboards, stands, microphones, cables, connectors and all kinds of things. The staff is always very helpful and very knowable. We love Guitar Center.
I love guitars. You might say I have a habit. I love to go here and hang out. They are very chill about letting me play the guitars, try out amps, etc. They have a great tech for guitar maintenance and adjustment. Very laid-back staff. Great selection of instruments.
I took my husbands electric guitar in to be repaired. I got it back in just a couple of days and it worked great and was cleaned up nicely. I would use them again for sure. The store is a little hard to navigate when busy and checking out takes a minute but I have no real complaints.
Great selection of all band items! They have places to try out all the instruments, headphones, and speakers. I would have given it 5 stars, but some of the employees can make you feel uncomfortable. Still a great place to shop. They even replaced my sons guitar strings in less than 10 minutes.
