Harper Motors makes buying a car easy. The sales staff are friendly and very efficient. I highly recommend them and will use them again in the future.
Worst ford dealership ever, nobody knows anything about anything. Horrible service. I wouldn’t recommend buying anything from them. They act like there doing you a favor selling you a car. Words can’t describe how bad our experience has been dealing with them.
Everyone at Harper Motors is so kind from the sales department to the service department. The pricing is fair on their trade ins and on their services and the add ons they offer for maintenance and insurance are a super good value. I bought a f350 for my business for towing and LOVE it.
Fixed Sorento noise issue. Replaced transfercase. Great service. Nice staff.
My car had a weird computer error that was sending off all kinds of different signals and they did their best to repair it given the signals it was sending off until they figured out that it was the computer sending off the signals that was faulty itself so they ordered this part for my vehicle that is a 2021 Kia K5 I commute a lot for work so my mileage was just above the 60k warranty and Jared and Robert the service manager worked diligently to get this part covered under warranty for me being that the vehicle is so new, the parts took a while because there are still international shortages of parts due to low production (due to covidso I really appreciate everything they did to make sure my car would be taken care of during this frustrating time of having my car have these issue. They just informed me today the parts have arrived and I should have my car back soon. Thank you Robert and Jared for truly caring about the customers that buy the brands you represent!
Exceptional experience! Professional, knowledgeable and No-nonsense. Couldn’t have asked for a better car buying process.
The most excellent EcoSport valve body warranty replacement. Thanks FORD!
Excellent service at Harper Motors! Staff were friendly and kept me informed throughout the process. Vehicle was ready ahead of time and quality was spot-on.
My engine had to be replaced. Harper Motors planned ahead well so they had all parts necessary to do the job before I brought the car in. They completed the job & had my car back to me when they said they would. The whole process went smoothly & the car is runing really well.
Great experience. The service department and quick lane seam to have a new and refreshing attitude and made sure they took care of me the best way they could.
Mike Shapiro is wonderful! Very kind and trustworthy. I bought my car from him and then my son bought a truck from him.
My initial review was not like this, had some charges on the bill of sale not in line with what I expected. One of the owners got back with me and made it right.More impressive though is Ive had some drivability issues with the vehicle and he has the service department contacting me to get it looked at. Between the two I was apprehensive about tackling those issues and his time/effort has put me at ease about it now, thanks
It took awhile due to chip shortages but Kurt M. and Harper Ford kept me informed about the process. I love my truck and it was everything I hoped for. Thanks to Kurt and Harper Ford.
Great Salesman and kept in tough with out being a pain. The entire experience of buying a new car was wonderful and fast with all the information that I needed.
We recently took delivery on a new Super Duty pickup that we custom ordered from Harpers. I was completely satisfied with the customer service we got throughout the entire process. Chris did a tremendous job making sure the order was correctly placed and advised us on everything we needed as well as what we did not. When we came to pick it up he helped us fill out the final paperwork and did a thorough walk through of the truck. Antoine took care of us for the finance portion and worked with us to get the payment plan that best suited our needs. Cant say enough good things about both of these fine gentlemen! If you are thinking about getting a new truck I would highly recommend checking out Harper!
Like always you spend much more money getting service from Ford. But the service that they provide is so far of higher quality and done professionally.
Seth and Jarae were absolutely fantastic today. They made a long and usually dreaded process a breeze and we walked away with a great deal and a great experience. I wouldn’t shop anywhere else for a car…ever again. We will be going back next time for sure 🙌🏼 Thank you Harper Ford
Had full service including oil change. Discovered a day later severe oil leak. No one available at Harper Motors to deal with the problem until Monday.Contacted Manager had car towed in for detetmination of reason for leak. Found a defective oil tank plug. Car delivered to my home the same day.
A great place to shop for a vehicle or get your vehicle serviced. I purchased a 2017 Ford F-150 from there and had a very smooth and easy purchasing experience. Chris Arnold there was good to work with. He knew the vehicles inside and out, didn’t pressure-sell, and was open to negotiation. In the end I walked away very satisfied with the transaction. Since then, maintenance and routine checks have been a breeze there! Their shuttle service is excellent! We don’t have a lot of options in our area, but I’m very glad Harper Motors is here!
I purchased my Ford Ecosport back in August from Seth at Harper Motors. He took a lot of time out of his day to show me many cars until we found just the right one for me and it was within my budget. Would highly recommend him and Harper Motors.
I purchased a Ford Fusion from Harper Motors for my mother and they gave me an incredible deal and were so helpful. Its comforting knowing my mother is being taken care of by a great dealership.
They ran a bait and switch with their sale. So we refused the car. Sales manager and rep told us nothing they can do as they are going to do as they are marking up stock. So basically take it or leave it so we left it. Money walked out the door.
Kia souls engine died at 113k miles. They offered to rebuild engine for $8000 as there is a parts shortage tight now. Its not covered by warranty. Car was religiously maintained and had oil changes. After review they did call and explain exactly what had gone wrong with it. They say that they will investigate into it further. Kia caller after review was very friendly and helpful. I do think its odd a car only last 113k miles but it was nice to get some extra info after I reviewed.
I definitely dont recommend. I had an oil change, was overcharged $10. It wasnt a huge issue but I called the service department roughly four times over the course of a month just trying to get ahold of someone to ask about it. It wouldnt have been a big issue, but the fact that they never responded made it ridiculously frustrating. Previously they were fine answering if youre simply scheduling, but other than that they just do not care about customer service. Regardless, it costs $190 to have your airbag wiring looked at and nothing changed at all, but they can do it because they have a monopoly. Other car repair shops wont look at anything involving that specifically. Next time, if I ever do have that same problem, Id honestly be willing to drive hours south just to avoid this particular location. Bummer.
Love Harper Motors , I am there all the time with my Ford Focus, In fact my car is there rite now for more transmission problems and many others as well. Thr defective exploding transmission that Ford new about when they rolled out in 2012, and chose to do nothing about has cost millions of Americans alot of money including me everytime it cost me $3500 but they claim thats where they make there money, That is probably the only true thing they have ever said, Ford is Legendary and certainly gets my vote as the most corrupt auto maker in history I guess Ford really is job1Job 1 to take your money that is. Some of the reviews are very accurate, I sometimes think of my time spent with Harvey Harper, a great man, and I relize that was the end of an era, . And the end any further businss with Harper.
Gigi and I have purchased multiple vehicles both business and personal over the last 12 years from Harper Motors . Nothing but thebest service from the purchase to regular maintenance. If in need of fleet or commercial vehicles ask for Kurt hes the man! Thanks Harpers!!
Was in a real pinch 3hrs from home with a clamp blown on a cold air tube for 6.7l, limped in and Dave in parts dept was super helpful gave me good old fashioned service and got me back on the road in no time..Was super appreciated and certainly put Harper Ford in a good light. Outstanding job.
I will never buy a ford again. Harpers is half the reason why. They will do everything and anything to charge YOU for Fords inability to sell a dependable car. There is no customer support here. Its a joke.Edit: Posting this review got me a call from Trevor Harper who monitors google reviews for Harpers. I wish I didnt have to post a bad review to get taken care of but he looked into me problems and Im expecting a call from service to get my car problems addressed.I can only hope that I get the service and answers Im looking for this time. Im not giving my hopes up yet and will adjust my review to reflect whatever comes from this.
Had my Car for almost a month now and i really like it. The Sales Rep. Kyle was really helpful with the process and a nice guy, wasn’t to pressuring like some others i’ve seen about getting the car right here and now, I recommend him for your sales person. He made it a easy process, got me an amazing deal and even was a easy process for taking cars for a test drive
Bought my Kia a year ago, and just had my third oil change. Marco made this experience extra special. He informed me of some recall things that needed done, and was very helpful and informative about those and the cargo cover I needed replaced. Marco is confident and informative and so nice! Thanks, again!
I usually only post positive posts, but feel I need to comment on the service we received last week on our vehicle. We took it in for its 30,000 mile check up. I remember the day when you would take a car in to be serviced and they would put paper down so they didnt get the car dirty and they would even wash and vacuum your car. Let’s just say they didn’t even resent the oil change light. We were very disappointed!
Our experience with Jeff Clayton was the best. (10 🌟He was professional and went beyond his duty to make our car buying experience unbeatable. Thank you Jeff 😊. On the other hand the sales department for after market parts wasnt as accommodating. Andrea wanted us to pay over the phone for parts without us first seeing the bottom line figures. We did find a discrepancy in price. Remember customer service is to accommodate the customer at all times. Jeff we give 10 🌟 and sales department maybe a 3 🌟.
UPDATE: Its nice to know someone actually monitors these reviews. Trevor called and because I was so upset I let my husband talk with him. He was very sorry and wanted the opportunity to make it right. I was skeptical, but my husband thought we should give them one more chance. Paul in the service department was very kind, professional and patient with me even though I was still extremely upset. He handled everything. My car was done in a timely manner and again very apologetic. I very much appreciate the concern they had and how quickly they took care of the problem. Thank you Trevor and Paul!PREVIOUSLY:Took my car in for a recall on the fuel tank and airbag. First they had my car for 2 weeks. Kept calling me telling me I needed brakes that mine were gone then called back a couple days later saying that they miss read the report. Next phone call was stating that I had picked my car up before the fuel tank was replaced - I had not. Then said it would be done Thursday, went in Monday still not finished. Highly inconvenient. Then when I finally was able to pick up my car, they had a hard time finding it because whoever checked it in labelled it as brown when it is a light silver. then today, put fuel in my car, they didnt put the fuel sensor in correctly so it doesnt register that I put any fuel in. FRUSTRATED! Will NEVER buy a car from them and I will drive out of town to another dealer for any additional recall work or maintenance.
About a year ago I bought what seemed to be one of the nicer cars on the lot, a 2017 Mustang GT “California Special” with 4K miles on it. I put down a considerable down payment (25-30%of the car total, and we fashion up a deal to send lenders with a rather high interest rate (around 15% over 6 years). I said it was a little harsh but being younger and with minimal credit history I could live with it. Later that day the salesman called me and informed me that it had been accepted, all I had to do was come sign! Somewhat delighted I hustle over to be informed that actually it had been denied, the acceptable interest rate was ~19%. I was a little frustrated but they apologized, there was nothing they could do etc. After some hesitation I finally decide what the hell, I have the money to buy the whole car, why not waste some extra each month to build some credit for a year and then pay the car off? I tell them I am fine with the new very high interest, am ready to sign. and they go into talk to the superior for quite a long time. Eventually they both come out and the boss does all the talking while the salesman stood by a little nervously. He informs me in an unapologetic manner that the past deal is void, and now if I want the car today the remaining balance has to be lent at 29% interest per year over a 6 year term. I do some quick math and realize on a 28,000 loan if I paid the $780 minimum (over $400 in interest aloneeach month I would pay over 56,000. I also calculate that at an extra $300-$350 a month in interest if I only make 12 payment before I payoff the vehicle then I only get milked for an extra 4.5K or so. I was so excited and had already prepared for a few extra grand, so what’s a little more? I drive off the lot with a great car at a ridiculous deal, now it is paid off and It is extremely unlikely I will ever do any type of bussiness with these people again. I’ve bought 4 different vehicles each costing 5 figures or more locally in the last 6 years, I’ve never been taken for a walking moron like at Harper ford. At least it is a wonderful vehicle and I can afford to get conned out of a few grand for a shiny new toy. Would leave zero stars if I could
Friendly staff, incompetent techs.I had my 2015 mustang for one month, under 21k miles, and it just stopped working. I took it in, they said it was the clutch, said they fixed it, but when I went to pick it up I had to return it right away because it was grinding and shifting itself out of 5th gear, and jerking in 2nd. And the passenger mirror had been damaged, but they said there wasn’t proof they did it, so they couldn’t do anything about it. So then, they replaced the master cylinder, and a clip the tech broke. They said they test drove it and it worked fine. I don’t even get a mile down the road before I realize they didn’t fix it. So then they replace the entire transmission. And when I pick it up, it drives fine but the check engine light is on and the passenger door rattles at speeds over 40 mph. The check engine light was on because they didn’t make sure the oxygen sensor was seated properly before putting in the transmission. The door was never fixed. All of this took from May 2018 to late October 2018. They never offered me a rental car, and when I asked, they never got around to it. They never called me back unless it was to pick up the car. They never offered me the parts they replaced, and when asked, they said they threw them out.All in all, I highly advise going literally anywhere else to get any repairs done because they are the most incompetent mechanics I have ever come across. This coming from someone who’s worked with cars their whole life.
I took my wife’s focus in due to a transmission malfunction, it would not go into reverse. I had it at another shop that insisted that it was the transmission itself and needed to be replaced and it would cost over 5000 dollars. I believed that it was the control module and took it from the shop in fortuna to Harper. They took it a week before the appointment because I would be out of town. They got to it early and had it fixed and saved us thousands of dollars. I know that dealerships get a bad reputation and they do cost a little more but, they were honest, fair, had it fixed before the actual appointment date, and I regret not taking it to them to begin with. I would like to thank Gio Rose for the quick and awesome service.
I bought a used mustang gt from Harper Ford. I was a little worried about it, because I didnt want to buy a muscle car used, but couldnt afford a new one. I bought the car and got an extended warranty. I had some initial problems with the car due to previous ownership and the previous owners not reporting a problem. Harper Ford took care of it- no problem, no questions asked. Not only did they take care of it, they improved the car. So its always scary to buy a car used, because you never know could happen, but when you buy from a small locally owned business like Harper Ford, they will treat you fairly so that you and your friends keep coming back. If you need service, see Nate. He is awesome, genuine and honest. I wont buy a vehicle from different dealership because I believe in loyalty and honesty and Harper Ford displayed both to me.
I highly recommend for warranty work and oil changes. Was a bit surprised by the cost of the recommended service for my older vehicle (greater than the vehicles valuewithout explanation of how it would resolve my primary issue. When I attempted to clarify with the service department, things got murky--to the point that I was disheartened. This resulted in a very nice phone call from Mr. Harper who patiently listened to my situation and provided helpful solutions.
Really nice employees for the most part however very disappointed with my last experience. I brought my car in for a check up after getting a postcard reminder. I was told my front tires needed to be replaced within the next few weeks and to not drive out of the area. After bringing in my car a week later for the replacement and waiting for 2.5 hours for the work to be done, I was told that in fact my tires were fine and didn’t need to be replaced. Why did it even take that long to determine? How does that sort of misdiagnosis happen? While waiting for the shuttle to bring me back to Harper I asked if I could get a discount on a tire replacement when I do actually need one and was told that might be difficult given I was asking for a price match for the tires. After wasting half of my day on something that I don’t actually need, I don’t think I’ll ever be back. I should also mention that the lady shuttle driver never asked me how I was doing or really acknowledge my presence in any manner. Very strange.
Cosigned my Son for a beautiful 2014 Ford Focus Titanium there. The location is convenient and the staff are always willing to help. The owner really has a passion for his business and it shines through in the staff, the quality of the inventory and the maintenance of their location. They also seem to really care about this area by offering Humboldt Residents a great car buying/servicing experience without leaving home. Well done, Harper family. Heres to another 100 years of success.
Super satisfied with my experience as a first time buyer with Harper. Antione from the finance department is amazing, he worked with me and we came to an agreement that worked for us both. I felt my needs and concerns were listened to and understood. He, as well as the rest of the team of people helping went above and beyond!I love my new Subaru Outback, and would definitely reccomend this place and their people!
I would give the service advisor Miranda a D, the service department mechanic a B and the service manager Robert Barrera an A gradeMy new 2017 F350 with 5,000 miles on it developed a noise in the rear end while I was 400 miles away from home. When I took the truck in, after a day the service advisor told me the mechanic had diagnosed the noise as a problem in the rear differential ,and that he knew probably what part it would need to fix it . They would have the part the next day and install it.For 2 weeks I kept getting assurances that the part absolutely would be in in two days and the truck would be out and fixed.Initially they found out the part was on a national back order. Then they ordered parts from other dealerships. But at 2 weeks they were no further along than the first day since they did not have the necessary parts.Initially after a couple of days of this I had told them they should probably get a whole rear differential assembly up because those were readily available and not on National back-order ,and if they tore into the rear differential and didnt have the necessary parts they would still have them or order more parts ,and my truck absolutely had to be out for a trip three weeks after it went in. I had said from day one that this truck needed to be on the road in three weeks. After two weeks of getting lots of reassurances and no results I put cleaned up put on my sport coat, and went in and asked for the service manager. The service manager Bob Barrera did understand my situation and did authorize to order the rear differential assembly . It still took them 7 days to repair the truck. In total the truck was in the shop for 3 weeks for a one-week repair. And if I hadnt gone in and been very demanding they easily could have taken 6 or 8 weeks waiting for parts on a brand new truck that I bought at this dealership .Therefore the service manager gets an A and the service advisor a D . Service advisor was very nice and polite but clearly in the weeds on how to get this truck repaired and back on the road.It was a really bad experience.
I was able to get in about 15 minutes prior to my appointment. The service guys took my car in for an oil change and general look-see of my 2012 Ford Focus. They said it would take an hour, so I went to the waiting area. It was clean and quiet, and didnt have a TV blaring in there, which I appreciated. The Van driver came by at least three times to check if we needed to go anywhere, but my car was ready in about 50 minutes. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful, and I was back on the road to Thanksgiving in San Jose. I cant recommend these guys enough for quick, efficient service.
I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment time. I was helped promptly and was greeted with a cheerful smile and positive attitude. I chose to wait while my first 10,000 mile service was done on my 2016 Transit Cargo Van. Harper Ford has a very clean comfortable waiting area with free WiFi. The wait time was reasonable for the work done. I had worked for the Alfred Matthews Cadillac dealer in Modesto California for two years in the past so I am very familiar with good, prompt service and wait times. My experience at Harper Ford during this occasion was outstanding and above reproach!
We purchased our 2015 Ford F150 from Travis last November, along with Anthony and Laurence, they made a wonderful team and worked hard to get us in a loan that fit our budget. Im still completely in love with my truck and giggle every morning when I go out and fire her up! Ive also purchased floor mats from the parts department and have visited your service department three different times, each with Bill as my service writer. He has always gone the extra mile to make sure I was happy with my service experience and remembers my name and vehicle each time Ive visited. Your customer service is top notch! From sales, to parts, to service, to the lovely ladies who answer phones and take payments Harper Motors is my familys go to vehicle dealer! Thank you for keeping small town customer service alive! My husband and I were on vacation north of Eureka when we developed car trouble with our 2 year old Ford Fusion. We called our local dealer and they recommended we take our car to the nearest Ford Dealer. Well, that was 2 hours south and we were unsure of the level of difficulties our car was having. We called Harper Motors and they gave us a name of a mechanic in Crescent City so we could get some info before we had to take it to Harper Motors. The mechanic, who was very kind, took time out to get the info from the car and recommended we tow the car down to Eureka. We called Harper Motors to let them know we were on our way on Monday. When we arrived, we met Bill Lackey! What a sweetheart!!! He let us know they were backed up with repairs already but he would do his best to get us moving. Their garage was hopping along with lots of cars so we prepared ourselves for a possible long repair time. No worries...breaking down on vacation has become a tradition in our family so we planned to make the best of it all. We rented a car, correction...a most beautiful Ford 4x4 extended cab truck, and headed back up to our hotel to finish our vacation for the last day of our planned trip. Apparently, after we left, Bill was able to work our car into the cue for the mechanics to get an assessment because the very same day, Bill called us with some good news and some bad news. It was a simple fix that was covered under our warranty, GREAT NEWS, but the bad news was the parts to replace it wouldnt come until Tuesday and the mechanics wont be able to complete the installation until Wednesday late afternoon. Well, bad news is relative and we looked at it as extra time off...Whoo hoo!!! Bill called us on Tuesday as soon as the parts arrived and gave us a specific time we could pick up our car on Wednesday. He was on top of everything!!!! Wednesday, we decided to turn in our rental a bit early and figured we would just hang out a few hours in the service center waiting area until the car was ready. When we pulled up, we saw Bill and he said he was just about to call us. They finished the car more than 2 hours before their target time. WOW, how cool is that!!! Bill Lackey and the mechanics at Harper Motors were amazing and added us to their already full plate to get us going as soon as possible. Bill was very sweet and while waiting for papers to print up, talked with us about interesting things such as the Merry-Go-Round and some history of Harper Motors. It was an all around great experience and feel so blessed to have had Bill as our representative. Everyone we met at Harper Motors were gracious, helpful, and very kind including the young lady who drove us to Enterprise the first day. Our car ran beautifully all the way home and is still doing well. If our car ever breaks down again, hopefully not anytime soon though, I would not hesitate at all to take our car to Harper Motors for repairs if we are in the neighborhood again. Thank you again for everything you all did to get us up and running again. God bless!
As a customer, I was very pleased with the service. Professional, efficient, and prompt service is what every customer is looking for. Bill in the customer service was extremely helpful and professional. Not to mention Dale, the north shuttle driver, who bend backwards for the customers when the south shuttle was full and willingly offered to accommodate the south-bound customers. No wonder why this company is thriving and lasts over a hundred years of doing business, because of exceptional people like these.
Outstanding sales and delivery experience from Travis Sherrod at Harper Ford in Eureka Calif. After contacting Three Ford dealerships close to home I decided to give Harpers a try. From our initial phone conversation I felt I was dealing with a "good guy" I basically knew what I was looking for, 2016 F150 Lariat, but was not sure about the many options available. Travis helped me through the decision making process. If he was not 100 percent sure about an option he would let me know, get the answer and call me back. No B.S. I ordered the vehicle over the phone having never met Travis or having never visited Harper Ford.Travis kept me apprised of the status of the order and gave me a realistic delivery date. The truck came in one week earlier than expected. When I arrived at the Dealership I was met by an extremely nice young man who turned out to be Travis. Somehow he knew who I was, perhaps Because I was on time for our appointment. I saw a beautiful F150 parked by the front door and it turned out to be mine. Travis went through the vehicle completely and demonstrated how all the options functioned, there were many. Before retiring I was in the automobile business for over 35 years. I could tell I made an excellent choice in choosing Harper Ford.
My Ford Focus was serviced quickly. I took it in for a recall, maintenance and a tire pressure monitoring light. All three concerns were addressed and I had my car back in just a couple hours. I am very happy with the service!
Every single visit I have made to Harper Quick Lane has been exceptional. Not only with the service & competitive prices but with the customer service as well. I always feel welcomed and well cared for. Also, the staff is very efficient and obviously works very hard. Since moving to Humboldt from Del Norte County, I commute to work an average of three days per week and drive 140 miles each of those days. Therefore, I have been a loyal customer for over two years now with service needs every few months. The staff does a great job of letting me know the condition of my vehicle and the upcoming services needed. It helps me feel safe and secure knowing my car is Harpers hands. Thanks all!
