Hermitage Home Town Diner in Hickory County

This was a cute little ma and Pop restaurant. Natalie was our server she was very friendly and helpful with order ideas. I would definitely eat there again if I travel that way!

The breakfast potatoes at this diner were the best Ive ever had...and Ive eaten a LOT of breakfast potatoes in my 36 years. The staff was super friendly as well. Thanks, guys!

Breakfast taters were so good! And lots of them. Sausage was perfect. Flaky layers of biscuits, beyond compare. Homemade strawberry jam, mmm. Good strong coffee and plenty of it. Friendly attentive staff. Highly recommend.

Really good food. Love the rolls with special flavor spreads. Fried Chicken was great. Would return if in the area.

I sincerely can’t say enough about the owner Joy .. We were eating there last month and my husband has hernias and he was in so much pain that he had to go out to the car…( I so she see’s him walking and leaves her kitchen ,to go ask if she could pray for him..❤️ Wow .. You don’t see an owner do that. So we went there today with mom ,and had to take her to hospital , so there was Joy again ,outside praying over her.❤️You will love the food!. She’s an awesome baker., tooI’ll just be glad when I can go and enjoy a breakfast without my loved ones having to leave. I love supporting “small businesses”,.. especially seeing Godly people.

Very good place, our waitress Natalie made us feel very welcomed like we was her family. The pie was delicious as well. Try the strawberry and the coconut cream pie. A+ in my books!

Today was our first time here and was very impressed! Natalie was so kind, an awesome waitress, and even sent us home a few small starts of the coolest plants we ve ever seen! We ll for sure be back!

Weve been here twice. Once for breakfast & once for lunch. Delicious food, great service from Natalie who waited on us both times. I highly recommend this fun little place. Youll probably be too full for dessert, but take home some homade pie or the apple dumplingsYou wont be sorry.

We have tried many places around without much satisfaction. This place, however, is absolutely amazing!! The environment is clean, staff is super friendly and attentive and the food is incredibly delicious. Prices are quite reasonable too! Our server, Natalie, was simply the best. We will definitely be back, again and again. Thank you, Home Town Diner, for providing what we have been looking for and then some!!

This place is horrible!!! Horrible food and horrible staff! I would give it zero stars if possible after reading the comments back from the owner/cook on some of these reviews. You want horrible over priced cold soggy food with a waitress that is condescending and hateful. This is the place for you!! 🤮

We arent from here, but have been here twice since we came, and absolutely love it, our server Natalie, was absolutely amazing, friendly, helpful, and the sweetest girl I have ever met, that girl needs a raise! 10/10 would recommend!

I had breakfast here and let me tell you its amazing . I had the Mountaineer skillet it was hot and fresh. The service is amazing Natalie and Brieanna are the best . The owner personally came out and talked to me which never happens anymore. It has an awesome family Atmosphere

This was such an amazing lunch spot!!! The tenderloin was to die for! Super appreciative of the staff for not minding a group of 7 showing up 20 mins before closing. Natalie was on top of her game with the service! The homemade flavored butter is beyond mouthwatering. Thanks for making this AZ girl happy 💚

We had the most wonderful Fathers Day breakfast here. Friendly and accommodating staff with great food. The dessert goods are definitely not to be missed!

I went on Sunday for the fried chicken. It was amazing. Definitely recommend arriving early, they ran out shortly after I got my plate. Went back today to try breakfast. The 1/2 Mt. Skillet was so good! Just the right amount to fill me up. The girls that work there, Natalie, Brieanna, and Christy are a lot of fun. Keep up the good work!

Rich and Joy the owners, went out of their way to make sure our out of town wedding party, were so well taken care of, we ate there every morning for the rest of our stay. They did this with a phone call and made it happen for 20 people. Fantastic home style cooking. It looks like my grannie made this when they bring it out. Special THANKs to NataLie who was our table support with fresh every thing when you needed it, with the best service you could want. To Brieanna, Christy and Lilly for helping as they served other tables, and a big hearty Thank you to Jon, Jonah, and Josh in the kitchen. If you dont eat here you assumed something so incorrectly wrong somehow. Enjoy

What a wonderful place to eat fantastic food with excellent service! What a gem in So MO! Natalie was the most capable server I’ve ever experienced. Seriously! Lilly and Christy made sure we were never out of coffee or water. Brieanna helped orchestrate so that food for 20 people arrival nearly simultaneously - whaaaat?! Jon, Jonah and Josh did their part to make it all perfect. Thanks to owners Rich and Joy for the most gracious hospitality and kindness.

Home town diner was absolutely amazing! Natalie went above and beyond for our family and accommodated us perfectly. Thank you thank you! Would absolutely recommend for a wonderful breakfast.

My husband & I came to the lake for the weekend (Pomme De Terreand found the BEST dinner ever!!! Family owned & operated - the food was amazing!! And the customer service, impeccable!!! Mother bakes, husband cooks and all of their children (including a daughter-in-lawand some family friends -- all part of this great crew!! Natalie was our waitress - very attentive, friendly and always smiling!! LOVE this diner!!!!!

Only posting my experience of being there, the food to me was the worst Id had anywhere. The bun on my hamburger was more like a type of biscuit that looked like maybe they didnt use for biscuits and gravy at breakfast time. My hamburger meat was pink and not cooked all the way through. And my fries looked and tasted like they were cooked in cold grease.The advertisements and fliers are better then the actual food. What a shame.The only thing good I got from going there was the young lady that waited on my table was very curtious and done her job well. And the Dr. Pepper

First timer. My son, his gf, and myself ordered take out and the staff was friendly and efficient. Quite honest with any and all questions asked. The menu had a refreshing spin on the basic burger lunch!Not that basic wasnt a choice as Im sure had I gone basic I would have been pleased as well. The fresh hand cut potatoes is a personal touch that isnt seen much anymore and it is an unspoken statement in my opinion customer satisfaction and quality come first and I would and DO recommend Home Town Diner for an enjoyable dining experience.This is how it should be!!!

Definitely love this place . The waitress’s are the best , food is all homemade even the bread and buns Their strawberry butter is the bomb . I love watching the waitress’s joke around they really seem to love their job. Brieanna is the sugar and Natalie is definitely the spice . O hey try there catfish best around the lake .And although Christy doesn’t always waitress it’s definitely a pleasure when she does .

Food is always great and made to order. This is family owned and run by family. Joy makes amazing desserts. Rich will cook to order. Natalie and Brianna are such good servers. The boys always have a smile. Highly recommend breakfast and the Big Mike Burger is awesome!

Wonderful food! Our favorite is the waffle breakfast special. We vacation at near by Lake Pomme de Terre and have made this a required meal every visit. Natalie, our favorite waitress, is prompt, funny, and remembers our names and orders. We highly recommend everyone to visit if you want exceptional food and fun environment.

They are the best there!!! They always make little burgers for me out of their signature ones. It is the friendliest environment. Only downfall is, they dont sell their amazing new strawberry butter!!! It doesnt keep long but once you taste it, dude....you will not be able to keep it for very long. Lol. Plz check them out. Give them a chance, some love, everything there is so yummy. The waitresses there are so sweet. So kind. Both sons, 6 and 3 absolutely love them all.

This diner is amazing! Wonderful home town food and a great friendly atmosphere. Went twice during our stay in the area. Natalie was our server the first time. She was very sweet and attentive. The seafood sampler was fantastic! The second visit Christine got me hooked up with their wonderful tater tots. I will definitely visit again the next time I am in the area. Very highly recommended!

We had a fabulous Big Mike burger! So yummy! The food was all homemade right down to the bun! Our waitress was Brianna, she was so warm and friendly! We will definitely be back!

When my buddy and I pulled into the parking lot, there was not a place to park. Well, we must of hit pay dirt, at 2pm in the afternoon on a Friday!!! We were doing thee 100 Mile garage sale from Nevada MO to Camdenton MO, and saw this little place. The food came quickly, it was YUMMY and Natalie who served it was super friendly and helpful. We DID NOT have the desert, as we were FULL, but next time we are going to order it FIRST!! Home made pies in the case could not be denied!! Thanks for the great food and Hey to Natalie!! Good Job Girl!

Very friendly waitress. My seafood plate was excellent. I was offered a roll and strawberry butter and it was the best. I was too full for dessert but it looked great. I will start with dessert next time.

Delicious food. The owner brought out strawberry butter she had made for our homemade dinner rolls. Will drive a little further to come here when were in the area.

Hubby ordered the big Mike special. He said it was tasty and he thought it was homemade buns. 100% better than the other Big M the big franchises sell. I got just a little cheeseburger and order of fries was very delicious. I was disappointed that I couldn’t get a side of the “special sauce” that comes on the Big Mike but hubby had enough dripping off his that I could make do. Server was a beautiful blonde with southern manners. Happy we found this little gem on our ride through the country.

Amazing little family ran diner! Breakfast was fantastic. Brianna and Natalie were excellent with the service and so helpful with our indecisiveness. The Apple dumplings and strawberry pretzel pie were heavenly. Can’t wait to return here on the next visit to the area.

Natalie and Bree were amazing waitresses!! Family owned restaurant with Mom and Dad in the kitchen creating an amazing home town taste to simple food. Definitely will be a stop every time we travel this way. Im not a sweets person, but Definitely leave room for dessert.. apple dumping was delicious!!!!

Me and my husband tried this place for the 1st time today. It was delicious! I had the Big Mikes burger and fries and it was the best hamburger Ive had at the lake!! My husband had the peach pie and I dont even like peach pie but this was sooo good too!! Thank you Natalie for the great service!!

Homemade food that is delicious, courteous friendly service. Clean, bright, fresh atmosphere. Best “real” diner food I’ve had in forever. I’m definitely going back. (they make their own burger buns, rolls, pies!)

Nice people. Nice ambiance. Love supporting my local business.Meal was a little bland but, not everyone can have salt ect... I understand.I will be going back. I want to try multiple things before I decide. We, my wife and I, had the hamburger steak with mashed pot and green beans.So far So good.

The service was fast . The staff was friendly. The food was fresh and hot. They had homemade jam , it was very delicious. The eggs were fluffy. They were very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. The restaurant was clean. They had salsa . I would recommend them . It was a quaint restaurant with a variety of food choices.

Had a really good breakfast here today. I would have given 5 stars but I like sausage in my gravy, and wasnt big on their style of potatoes. Bread and Biscuits were homemade.. Service was great, family owned and ran as far as we could tell. Great value. We will be back!
