What I dont understand is what happened to hooked up we have a new facility I like the new look but the food went down the drain your coleslaw is dry your taco was spicy I didnt ask for a spicy taco I asked for a fish taco it was hotter than hell and then my husband had not your mama horrible , were so sorry to say we wont be back I just dont know what happened to the food in there but I wish you good luck anyway
Football Sunday food and drink specials. TV for every NFL game being played. Service and food specials a definite touch down.
Good food, decent beer selection, live music every night.
Get the shrimp quesadilla, it was SO good!!! Bar/restaurant, crowded, loud if there is live music. Service was good, food was delicious. We went 2x during our week stay in the area and would definitely have gone again.
Decent food, good service and good drinks. Sunday Football menu is a good option. Nice open layout showing a number of games throughout the place. Not a bad seat in the house.
Food was amazing, Jacob our waiter was spot on!
Wednesday $.50 oysters and cracked special sandwich were over the top. Two dozen raw oysters were meaty, flavorful and ready to eat off the shell. Will be going back this Wednesday.
We β€οΈ this restaurant. The attention to detail and allergies was top notch by our waiter Yerel . The Glazed Salmon bowl w/ sticky rice and avocado was amazing. We come here often and would highly recommend it. We made sure to let the Manager (I think his name was Clay know how happy he were with Food, drinks and service !!!!!
Let me start by saying this bar was great before the remodel! Great deals for happy hour, and specials through the week. Since the remodel things look nice but the quality has gone down hill drastically. we stopped in with friends the end of july for drinks and snacks after a day on the beach, We ordered dz. oysters and crab dip w/ pitas chips. Oysters came out 4 of the 12 were pallatable and half of them looked like they had been through a meat grinder and the remainder were just disgusting and we did not eat them. The crab dip came out and was very good, there were no pita chips. They gave us greasy homemade potato chips. The chips were so greasy they would not even break they would just bend. We asked for tortilla chips and they came out the same as the potato chips, soggy And greasy. We finally asked for plain old saltine crackers to eat our crab dip with. We asked the waitress to speak to a manager and she sent him over. We started out by telling him we are (native sussex county)local and come here all the time, we are not out for anything free we just want to make you aware of the quality of the food since the remodel has gone downhill. We explained the whole situation to him and we got nothing but excuses for the bad food. He said he has not had any complaints from the over 600 customers they had that day and it was only 2:00 p.m. we found that hard to believe! our response to him was I find it hard to believe that if you served food like this it is amazing that someone else has not complained besides us. we explained we are trying to let you know the food sucked. He was very defensive and very condescending and tried to turn it around that we were the problem. He also made us aware that since the remodel they have a new caliber of "clientele". So, that tells me that the (old, regular, local clientele)must not rate. He needed to learn to take constructive criticism like a manager should. Went there this evening 8/31/22 got the crab dip and again served with greasy potatoe chips instead of pita chips. Oysters were terrible again! Thank god they have good bartenders.
Been going here for years and never had a bad experience. Food is always amazing and service is top notch. A must stop if youve never been before and youll definitely want to go back.
I always look forward to eating here when I visit Bethaney Beach. Great atmosphere, service, food, people. Get the Fish and Shrimp Tacos, cant go wrong.
This restaurant is amazing!!! I sat down at the bar around 5:30 during happy hour and ordered the nacho mama short-rib grilled cheese which stood out to me when I first got my menu. It was absolutely delicious. The cocktail menu is fantastic and the live music was great as well. This place is just a great bar with great food that Iβm glad I went to this weekend.
We just stopped in for some quick drinks while Mom watched the kids. Had a great time. The staff was great and the drinks were cheap. Great little bar
Always our first stop when we come to Bethany Beach. We especially enjoy their happy hour with Buck a Shuck oysters. The restaurant has been remodeled since our last visit and it was beautifully done. Our server was very friendly and attentive, we have always enjoyed great service here.
Went for lunch. Loved the buck a shuck. Oysters were really meaty.Had wings and popcorn cauliflower. Butter wings were really good. Cauliflower was not. Very overcooked and expected more breading.Honestly food was ok but the staff at the bar was friendly and attentive. Good selection of beers on tap.Issue was we had 3 appetizers and 4 beers and left to get a pizza. Just not worth the $ for us. Will def go back for beer and oysters though.
Crabs are delish!!!Seasoned to crab perfection
Newly renovated! It looks fantastic!! I got the fish and chips and it was delish! The French fried were really good!
This ones a little pricier than some of the other places in the area, but their food is unique and WILL NOT be beat. And good lord, the on-tap beer selection is largely local and seemingly endless.I love this place!
Hate to say it but not as good as it used to be. Everyone kept telling me they didnt like the changes and I understand after going. Went from a cool bar/restaurant feeling amd now just feels like most other places and not unique. Prices are high and food is ok. Ordered a rice bowl and it had one small scoop of rice as a side to the dish. Very disappointed.
We ordered the burger, shrimp tacos, and a cheesesteak. All 3 plates cleaned. Great food and atmosphere.
most delicious burger iβve had in a long time. a bit greasy but so flavorful
Met a friend for apps and a drink. The newly renovated Steve Hagen restaurant continues to serve good quality food, The enlarged bar and lost of pool tables is a big improvement. Music some nights. Staff is efficient and friendly.
Sad to see the place change dramatically. We loved visiting Hooked Up in the past due to the vegan/vegetarian options (at least 5 different options last year). It was always perfect for our group. Was shocked to see not a single option was available this summer, not even a veggie burger. Ended up leaving after looking at the menu.
As good a crab cake sandwich as I have had anywhere! My daughter had a burger and loved the smoked bacon jam! The service was better than average and I would go back again and again. Try the home made coleslaw; itβs amazingly fresh & tasty - perfectly blended.
We love Hooked Up Ale House and the renovations look great! Love the large circular bar! We came in over Memorial Day Weekend and saw the menu had changed fairly substantially since you re-opened. I loved the Impossible burger option you had previously and was disappointed it was gone. As a non-fish/non-meat person, there werenβt many vegetarian options. Would love if you would consider adding a meatless burger option to your menu again. Thanks for your consideration.
Food and drinks here are very good. Atmosphere is great too. Lots of TVs and live music also. Would definitely go back.
I was so impressed with the staff. Table maintenance was as if I were in fine dining 5-star accommodations. Scout and Batina were on their game. It was nice to have met Christian. I was asking about the "salmon bowl" on the menu and he described it to a "T." I ordered it and was very pleased. The new layout is much more friendly and inviting, too.
Newly remodeled, I would call it an "Upscale Sports bar". Live entertainment, pool tables, Excellent Food and Drink !! Bartender/Server Scout, is a STAR, helpful, friendly and pleasant to deal with !! 5βοΈ and 2 ππ, Highly recommend !!
Revised reviewBeen coming to this place for years and have always enjoyed their food and the atmosphere. Went in today for the first time since their renovation, and had lunch. Shocked to see the huge increases in their pricing. Crazy pricing for a Reuben sandwich with fries and wings. The side of coleslaw I got was $7. Yes $7 for cabbage and dressing. Wont be coming in as often.Previous reviewGreat food and beer selection. Love this place.
This place couldnt get anything right this evening. Ordered the baby back ribs which were horrific and well over cooked,, it came with french fries which were served cold, and coleslaw which was the best part of the entire meal. Paid $27 for baby back ribs, my friend had muscles which were $12 and we had two drinks. Got a check for $76. When I couldnt put the math together to get to a total of $76 I requested an itemized bill and it came back at $68. When I complain to the manager he says its a very common mistake. Charging me more than 10% more than my actual check is not a mistake thats robbery and when I told the manager he laughed it off. All this was capped by a horrible single performer who performs on Saturday nights. Avoid this place on Saturday nights if you want to keep your eardrums intact. My suggestion would be to avoid this place.
Was there Sunday night around 8pm.12 people in the place at the most. Ordered cheese burger medium and cole slaw. Burger was well done, the slaw had so many onions you could taste them all night. Soda was nasty. However the barmaid great service
Very relaxing place. Has pool tables in back. Excellent place to go just to hang out and have a few with friends.
Wondering where everyone went this winter? They went to the Hooked Up Ale House. Not knowing any better, I just ordered take out. The place was packed, and on a Tuesday night! I was not disappointed, however. The ribs were the best I have had in a very long time.
Very very good...Had the fish tacos an my wife had the shrimp tacos. They were great. Jacob, our server was very good as well. Outstanding evening. Will be back soon.
We were blown away with the quality, prices and availability of happy hour! Well be moving to Ocean View in early 2022 from PA and are just learning the area, but feel like we hit the jackpot with Hooked Up, one of the very places that offers happy hour menu and prices in the entire restaurant and not just in the bar area like the vast majority of establishments. The wings, burger and fries, mussels and oysters were all off the charts. We cant wait to return and we be frequent returnees!
Food was excellent. We tried wings, popcorn cauliflower bites(very good),when in Rome, and a rack of ribs. The ribs were fantastic! Fall off the bone and tender. We got carry out, so cant comment on wait staff and atmosphere. Will return.
Great food, great service and big screen football! What else is there?
Frequent this venue and have always been pleased. However this visit got our food before our appetizer and was told it was because they only had one oyster schucker. It took 45 minutes. Manager came over and offered to comp the oysters saying that should make me feel better. It actually made me feel worse. That was so rude. Did he really think that I was worried about the 12 bucks. Your manager needs a course in how to talk to your customers.
Food was good, beer selection great, fun atmosphere and the best coleslaw Ive had in years!
We enjoyed happy hour and got discounted prices on steam mussels, raw oysters, and fish tacos. The mussels were steamed to perfection, not one overcooked. Fish tacos were tasty. The service was friendly.

great service and nice atmosphere, my girlfriend and I came here on our last day staying in the area, and it was a perfect cap to the weekend. quick times, we were greeted by the server within a minute of being sat and our food came out not even 10 minutes after being seated. there also appeared to be large tables for parties of 6 or more. Just a very homelike feeling and good food. The price is dwarfed by the portion size, both of us were shocked when the plates came out.
Friendly staff, clean environment, great for groups and families. Try the Nacho Mamas Grilled Cheese with Short rib!Happy hour 3pm - 6pmWednesdays 4pm - 6pm $0.50 oysters.Plenty of great atmosphere and TVs for sporting events.
Excellent food! Oysters were great too! Staff very friendly and great reasonable prices.
Had a nice time here with my friend. The Calimari is tasty and spicy! My friend brought his guitar and the guy playing let him play a couple songs which was pretty cool. Good crowd and nice space. Wish the bar staff was a little more attentive, but they were busy.
Went there before and were very disapointed with the food. Decided to give it another try. Well the food was awesome this time.Service was great. We will be back. And take a look at this sandwich π π
Staff always very friendly and make great suggestions. atmosphere is laid back . Dewey Selects Oysters are right on.Nice wine list and great crushes.Im not not a margarita person but I watched many being delivered ..Signature cocktails a must.Really good burgers with all the fixings.Great fish fry.A couple of must tries..Bacon wrapped Scallops, Truffled Parmesan Wings and Oh I love me some Fire roasted AsparagusOver all just a nice Sports bar with friendly people
My husband and I went here on the recommendation of his sister and we werent disappointed. We went here on a Thursday Evening (Eagles Season Openerat about 8:30 PM and only had to wait about 15 minutes. The restaurant was obviously loud and rambunctious but that was due to the game. My husband ordered a special cocktail called the sea pickle and enjoyed it. I ordered the seasonal soup as an appetizer (cream of corn, jalapeno, crab soupwhich was SO GOOD except its my opinion that it was a tad too thick and creamy but not enough to prevent me from eating the whole thing. My husband and I both ordered burgers, the texas wedge and plain jane with cheddar; we both agreed they were some of the best burgers wed ever had. Despite the game and how crowded it was, the wait staff did a fantastic job in getting our drinks and food to us quickly. If youre going specifically to watch a game, there were plenty of TVs for them to display the Eagles Game, Washington Nationals Game and the Tennis match with good line of sight to your favorite.
Nice atmosphere. We had a delicious lunch. I ate a grilled mahi sandwich. Will definitely go again!
Casual sports bar atmosphere with a nice higher end selection of food. Good craft beer choices on tap and a nice selection of drink specials. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. Wait staff was friendly and fast.
