Hotel Five - A Staypineapple Hotel in King County
The housekeeping service only visited once during our week long stay. The beers were $13 apiece which was not labeled on the cooler. Having said all that, the staff was phenomenal and the location is ideal! If I were to stay again, at the price point Id probably stay again.
MorePros: the staff there is amazing! The rooms are very clean. The blankets are awesome. Only half a mile to downtown attractions. Cons: very stiff beds, stiff pillows, no privacy in the bathroom. Nobody will clean your room and there are no trash bags. There are also hidden fees so, beware.
MoreThe details of this place! everything was so on theme and I loved it. We were upgraded to a King Suite which was greatly appreciated and we enjoyed the extra space and huge shower! The lobby kept us entertained and we took advantage of the drinks and games that were offered. The bed was great an the bedding was so amazingly cozy. We loved Hotel 5 and plan to stay at more of their locations!
MoreThe hotel is an overall good experience though lacking in a few areas. I dont think Ive stayed at a hotel that has no refrigerator or microwave before but that isnt a deal breaker. Also noticed that the ice was stored in ziplock bags that I myself personally use which didnt bring much confidence in the qualities as it was probably packaged in house. Over all a 4/5 experience and would stay again.
MoreThis hotel wasnt bad. It kind of had the vibe of a hostel, but more private. Definitely felt more catered to people in their 20s. I was a little turned off at all the advertisement for purchasing their products (branded stuffed dog left in the room, expensive branded robe, the entire bed, etc). Made it feel a little more like a money grab priority rather than hospitality. The room itself was set up a bit bizarre; it was long and narrow with the beds facing a close wall. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was nice and clean with great shower pressure. Parking was $40 a night which I wasnt aware of and wouldve maybe opted for parking elsewhere or returning my rental car early had I made myself more aware, though it was quite convenient and included underground spots. The welcome drink led me to believe there would be a bar, there was not, just a small fridge with canned sodas and beers. The bistro was never open during my stay, which was a bit of a disappointment, but luckily it is in a central location with tons of walkable options. I dont think I would stay here again, I feel I could find a better stay for my needs for the price. But I wouldnt dissuade anyone from staying here, though the price may be a bit high for the age group they seemed to cater to. All that being said, the customer service was stellar and the location was great, just not my vibe.
MoreI always sleep so well in Staypineapple hotels with the comfy beds and the amazing comforters they have! This hotel was in a great location close to Pike Place market and Capitol Hill neighborhoods. Lots of great dining options and cafes close by. Room was a bit dark with only a small window overlooking the parking lot. Other than that, safe, clean, and comfortable.
MoreVery clean hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. Its also in a great location at a reasonable price. We will be staying here again next time we visit the area.
MoreOk attempt at a boutique hotel. Some staff were friendly, other staff members were rude and unhelpful. The bed was comfortable but lack of sheets was annoying. The bar and Cafe in the lobby were never open. They theoretically offered a number of things that were never available. They send you adds about free cocktails and cookies that didnt exist. The walls were thin and there was a very loud party in a room near us. The gym was basic.
MoreGreat locationJason and staff were awesomeBeds comfyCookies yummyRooms are a little dark with the big wall black. Suggest a mirror or lighter picture on wallAC unit had a clicking noise that was annoying. We reported itDefinitely would stay there again!!
MoreUnfortunately did not meet expectations (for what we paid). The building itself is very low quality, poor sound proofing, and I can see they spruced it up but most things were cheapest quality (from the furniture to those free pineapple cookies, so gross lol). I agree the bedding was comfortable. Staff were nice and friendly, but missed the mark on actually delivering a few times.Overall, unfortunately we saw through the friendly and excited descriptions and staff to a cheap motel vibe.
MoreWe loved the ultra-laid back nature of Hotel Five and its determination to be different from the big "corporate" beasts. Our room was comfortable - particularly the bed. The only slight snag was getting the wi-fi working. However, the marvellous Jason soon sorted that, as well as giving us lots of helpful recommendations for restaurants etc. Recommended.
MoreThe beds are heavenly. The staff are not excellent, but they are nice. You will have to ask for things twice. Still, the beds are very nice and this overshadows that you will have to ask every day for cream, sugar and coffee replacements, and every day they will bring 2 of the 3 things you asked for. Ive tried some other local hotels and they dont do any better with amenities. What Im trying to say is that the fancy hotel 10 blocks away has similar staff and does not have really nice beds.Hotels could create simple systems that enabled guests to request the amenities they were promised...
MoreWhat a great place! Love the branding and the funky décor! Everything was easy, the room was clean, plenty of bottled water, and location was great! I gave a 4 star instead of a 5 because unfortunately when we checked into the hotel on Thursday night around midnight, the front desk gal was very unpleasant and rude. However, the morning staff hit it out of the park! We will definitely be back!
MoreWas my second time staying at this Seattle hotel and LOVED it! Friendly, personal, professional service where the concierge staff was welcoming. Didn’t hesitate to provide excellent recommendations for restaurants, bars, and travel time beyond what you read in reviews. Very positive experience made even better by Jaeson who went above and beyond to help recommend the best places and times to go.
MoreThis hotel was really nice. I liked staying here for the weekend. The only bad part was their bistro/bar. There isnt one operating there anymore. The space is there and it appears to be functional, but no staff to make it run.Rent that space to a food truck for their kitchen and give your guests a great food experience as well. Breakfast tacos and smash burgers would be super easy and cheap ways to have food onsite.
MoreGreat experience. The front desk staff was very nice and welcoming. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Good location in downtown Seattle; easy walk to Pikes Market and Capitol Hill area, located close to public transit as well. Parking available on site. Would stay here again.
MoreWe booked Staypineapple the day before as a last minute vacation and it exceeded our expectations. They have ample parking and answered all our questions promptly by email before we even arrived. The person working the front desk (29th August in the early afternoon), was super welcoming and pleasant to talk to. They gave a lot of direction and tips for sight-seeing. Even the staff on the other days were super jovial and polite creating a very comfortable atmosphere.Regarding the hotel itself; it is one of the only hotels in recent memory that has amazing water pressure. They certainly dont cheap out on expenses and the decor is funky, unique and thematic.Staypineapple will definitely be the first accommodation that springs to my mind on all future trips to Seattle.
MoreThis hotel was right in the middle of everything, which was great when attending a festival on Cap Hill. Friendly staff, and really cute esthetics for the hotel itself! Only downfall, no fridge or microwave in the basic rooms. Other than that, I spent 3 days really enjoying my stay!
MoreThis was without a doubt the coolest hotel we have ever stayed at! Service was 10 stars! Drinks upon check in, free (coldbottled water during your stay- much appreciated in the heat- and such very friendly staff! There were fun games to play for free in the lounge (Pacman, wall Scrabble, and more!along with plenty of places to enjoy sitting with friends and family to just hang out. We got in later than usual thanks to flight delays and Amara was so helpful in recommending a great restaurant that delivered right to the hotel door for us. Our only regret was not having more time to stay and truly enjoy all the amenities they offered as we were boarding a cruise the next morning. Dont miss the chance to stay here- will absolutely be returning in hopes of using the complimentary bikes they offer to get around town and have more time to be there. Absolutely loved it!!
MoreI had high expectations for this hotel because I stayed at the Staypineapple Hotel at University Inn a couple years ago. But I truly feel disappointed in the Hotel Five and would like women to especially be aware that the staff here are not friendly, very cold, and even made me feel unsafe. On my first night of staying at this hotel, my curtains broke, and the maintenance guy had to come to my room to fix it. When the maintenance guy came to my room, he started asking me a series of very personal questions, such as whether I was alone, if I had a boyfriend, and how old I was. It was creepy, weird, and made me feel extremely uncomfortable, especially because I was visiting all the way from DC and wanted nothing more than to feel safe. I dont know what in anyones mind would make them think its okay to ask a young woman if she has a boyfriend, or why it would be any of their business. This hotel needs to do better. This behavior is disgusting, its predatory, and its completely unacceptable. I was sure to report this incident to the manager, and he refunded me for 1 night of the stay, and 1 night of parking, which certainly helps. But I am writing this review because I am a strong advocate for women feeling safe, especially when they travel. Stay safe ladies and be careful of the staff at this hotel - they probably wont make you feel at home.I gave this hotel 2 stars instead of 1 because the hotel is very clean, had ample parking, and provided complimentary water daily, which is important to me, as I was spending a lot of time outdoors in the heat. Im also leaving 2 stars for the fact that I did receive a couple of apologies from different staff members regarding their unprofessional communication and poor customer service skills.
MoreHotel is in a great location! Easily walkable to the space needle and the pike market area. Loved being able to just walk where we were going. At check in the staff was very nice! I stay in a lot of hotels and rarely is the staff so friendly that it leaves a lasting impression! I have stayed at a stay pineapple before and I would recommend it!
MoreNeat, quirky, and fun boutique hotel. Great for my stay while visiting Seattle. Close to a lot in the downtown area and very safe and clean. The hotel offers tons of amenities and great friendly staff. Shout out to Jaeson for recommending restaurants and being an awesome resource of what to do in the area. I will definitely stay again and check out their other locations as well.
MoreWe love this place so much. The staff treats us with kindness and a smile (cookies are amazing). The rooms, hall, lobby, even the elevator always spotless. Its a groovy hotel , but run like one of the best. I love that we always see an adorable puppy in lobby and a staff ready to help (jerry is so cool). Make it your go to hotel in Seattle, you wont be disappointed. Hotels took major hit last few yrs, and they all could use a boost. Pop In, stay a night, and dont forget your cookies.
MoreThe hotel was clean and nice, however the one employee at the front desk was rude and not helpful in any way. There was no bar or bistro, our free drinks was canned wine in a fridge. The other employee seemed to be a little newer, but tried helping best he could. I voiced my frustration with the front desk and the manager called me after our stay to offer to help in anyway he could and apologized for the poor service we received. All in all, Jerry made everything right!
MoreCheck in was fast and easy. Location was great and was within walking distance to Space Needle, Pike place Market, as well as restaurants. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel nicely decorated and beds comfortable.
MoreGood location. Walking distance to Pikes Place and Seattle Center. Lots of places eat or get coffee very close by. Comfortable beds and neat decor. The unlimited bottled water is a very nice touch.
Morewe were welcomed with a 200$ hidden fee when we were checking in. This fee was not on the website when we booked the room. In the rooms you will find a bunch of things like a stuffed dog, robes & pillow that if you think is free, it’s not & they will charge you for them. We only found that out when we asked why they were in our room. We asked the front desk numerous questions and they never seemed 100% sure of their answers so it made us feel like we were getting tricked with more fees. The rooms themselves are fine & the location is good but I really wish they were more transparent with the all the fees.** I contacted the manager and nothing was handled. They basically told me I read the website wrong while booking a room. *
MoreStayed here last week on my official trip to Seattle. The stay was good. Though I would have preferred in house restaurant and dining facilities which they don’t have currently. Staff was also good and helpful. Special mention for Rudy. I had some problem walking and he got my food deliveries to my room upstairs. Appreciate the service and hospitality.
MoreI wasnt sure quite what to expect on reviewing the website. It looked like a fun and quirky place!Upon check-in, the staff were very friendly. They informed me that there would be no housekeeping service provided. If I needed towels or sheets, they could be provided. This seemed surprising, as most hotels these days at least service the room after 3 or 4 days. It was disappointing, but Im sure they are having staffing issues like many in the industry. The room had a lot of fun decorations, but some obvious large water leak bubbles on the walls. It was mentioned to the staff, but they seemed to not be overly concerned. I am sure that the housekeeping had seen it as well, as they were quite obviousOverall sleep quality was quite poor! The pillows were horrible and the rooms are far from quiet. One night, they decided to vacuum the hallways at 3am? My room was on the street side and that provided a LOT of noise. Although the windows appeared to be double-paned, it wasnt sufficient to keep the noise of the monorail, nightly fire engine sirens, nightly police sirens, etc. I ended up having to stuff a towel against the door to limit noise from the hallway, and run the A/C constantly to drown out the road noise. Ive stayed at a lot of hotels, and am normally a very heavy sleeper, but this was excessive. Others in my traveling party complained of similar noise issues as well, so it wasnt isolated to me or my room.Staff were quite friendly and wanting to help, but didnt seem to be empowered.
MoreZero complaints. Its not a 5 star hotel but we really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, the staff was super nice, and the location was very convenient. There were a few tents set up nearby but nobody bothers you. No hidden fees or anything weird. If you dont care about amenities or concierge carrying your bags, this place is perfect. Also, theyre extremely dog friendly.
MoreThis location does not have a business center, but the staff is amazing, kind, friendly and knowledgeable. The design is allergy friendly, with clean floors and minimal allergens. The staff deserve all the kudos possible. Everyone was kind and accommodating. This is a great location in the middle of a lot of great business. Walking distance to so many great places especially the light rail which was fun. The bikes for rent are PERFECT for Seattle. Take one and make some time to enjoy the games.
MoreAbsolutely loved the branding and decor of this place. Staff was super. Made an early check in work, gave us a deal on underground parking to ensure our Canadian dollar went a little further and allowed us to remain parked after checkout to enjoy the Seattle scene. Location is perfect walking distance to the space needle or the pier. My girlfriend who loves pineapples now has a bucket list of hitting all the stay pineapples and has requested you open one in Hawaii.Bottom line, well branded hotel with super clean rooms, welcoming staff and walkable location to all the Seattle sights.
