We really enjoyed our stay at Ullr. Prime location in the Thredbo Village with a short walk to Valley Terminal and shuttle bus to Friday Flat. Our room was great with a spectacular view over the resort. The beds were super comfortable, free wifi and staff were really accommodating. There was a secure ski storage room for boards/skis/bikes and a drying room for our smelly, wet boots. We have two young kids (4 & 6who had never been to the snow before so it was convenient being so close to everything. Cant wait to go back. Thanks Aaron and team for your hospitality.Oh, the Mexican restaurant downstairs has some great food and the bar is perfect for a well deserved post snowboard brew/cocktail.
6 person stay meant entering the accommodation into a converted lounge, as one of the bedrooms - not ideal but you get what you pay for I guess (I wouldnt say it was clear though). Renovated shared bathroom looked nice but the shower leaks. Breakfast isnt included like it was in the place we stayed next door for a similar price. The dry room was just a small boot room though, which wasnt able to deal with the smell (lucky for us, next door let us leave ours there but that didnt help the othersIt was however in a good location and it got the job done for a short snow stay - the on-site Mad Mex restaurant is also nice, good vegetarian food options and selection of drinks, including craft tap beers.
Aaron and his team were very welcoming. Good central location. Rooms are clean and well equipped. I enjoyed my stay.
Thank you for the most amazing little family holiday! Rooms were in the most perfect location making it super easy to come and go with the kids throughout the day! Staff were friendly and accomodating and the views from our room were fanatic!! We will be back next season for sure!
Great location, short walk to lifts, clean modern rooms, Mad Mexican restaruant on site, casual seating, something for everyone in the menu and cocktails at the bar. Nothing was to big an ask for Aaron and his freindly team. Will be back soon to enjoy all the delights of Thredbo Village.Thank you Team House of Ullr.
Grumpy waitresses, slow service, steep prices for small plates. Better options elsewhere
Thank you House of Ullr we had a wonderful experience as a family with young children. The morning coffee and egg and bacon rolls were so delicious! Thank you to all the staff and wonderful helpful management we will see you again next year
Good food but not suitable for family with kids.Very basic menu.Good margarita.😍
Great location, but Wifi and TV didnt work the whole time during our stay so we had to hotspot. There was karaoke on Thursday night at the restaurant below which was really noisy. The staff at the front desk werent that friendly.
Amazing views from our room and location is very central to the town village. I felt that these were the two factors that we paid for and everything else fell a bit short. Most hallways, stairs and foyer are ship like and if passing someone one party has to give way and stand still. Entrance and unloading is difficult even in good conditions. Restaurant although hyped up in a lot of places was average with a limited menu not especially family friendly.
We had a couple of delicious coffees yesterday, made with so much love. Great spot to warm up for a day of snowboarding 👍
Amazing food and even better staff!
Nice food, but $22 for two tiny fish tacos is surely taking the pi**
Food was fantastic and probably the best value for quality food in Thredbo. Service was also really good.
Great location in Thredbo village, short level walk to the lifts. New bathroom, comfy beds & great central heating. Downstairs bar and restaurant are really good. Ullr has it all.
Stayed for a couple of nights with my son. He has mobility issues and House of Ullr was amazing in making the 100+ year Heritage Chateau as accessible as possible. The lovely owner gave up his car park spot so my son had easy access.Such hospitality is a Rare thing these days!Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a hassle free stay in the heart of Thredbo Village.Whenever we would mention that we where staying at The House of Ullr to the locals they all would mention what a lovely family the owners are and by default we where treated like we where locals. When we failed to arrive on time the lovely receptionist rang us to make sure we where safe (So much Wildlife on and road, like being a Safari!).Guest Rooms have recently been refurbished. They are basic but super spotlessly clean with lovely mattresses. Not a 5 star resort but we enjoyed our time here more than Lake Crackenback Resort.THANKS AGAIN guys :-)
Always stay here for mountain biking holidays. Rooms are great, location is walking distance to everything, staff are very accomodating, They have bike storage. Aaron Rogers always looks after us.
- Basic hotel / ski lodge.- No guest parking provided - just a 1 car drop off point.- Room was small, simple and probably 20 years overdue for a re-vamp.- Small fridge and kettle provided.- Shelving left dust on any item of clothing placed on them.- Suggestion - when you receive the SMS advising of the front door code (for after hours), ask directly if the code is correct. They missed one digit from the SMS.Staff were overall friendly and the coffee was great.
Food was good although dont expect home-made tortillas. Especially recommend the soft shell crab tacos and the churros. The rest was a bit on the bland side. 20$ for a kids cheese quesadilla is a massive rip off although this just seems to be a theme for Thredbo in general. Staff was extremely disorganised, supposedly fully booked out, but someone with a bit more initiative found us a table. The room we were in was left half empty for the whole of our dinner...
Booked the hotel for 6 people September 2021Covid happened with cancellation approved before bookingOwed 2700 return depositUncontactable no answer on phone on responses on emails very very very for a hotel.I hope anyone will avid this hotel at all costs. This is Hotel is a disgrace
Hard to describe just how bad this supposed Mexican was. Just categorising it as Mexican would be an insult to Mexicans globally. Really bad, laughable. Perhaps in-part due to the fact that there was no Mexicans to be found. Suffice to say the dishes were distasteful, unaesthetic, rubbish.
Very happy with our Mexican-style feed here. Tasty food and margs with a good atmosphere.
Joining to A Elizas negative impression from Mad Mexican restaurant. Although we went a bit further there and actually booked a table and had some food. If the food was just overpriced it would be acceptable, but it also was quite bad. And its double frustrating overpaying for a bad food. To make it triple frustrating, service was very poor too. We even were not served with cutlery...My advice, youre better off with a take away pizza🙂🍕
Great location. Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room (mountain view). Good atmosphere in the bar and restaurant. Nice Mexican style menu. Delicious!! We stayed in summer.
The Mexican needs to review their front of house and back of house systems and processes. We were seated near the kitchen and witnessed the manager yelling at the kitchen staff. The meals were tasteless. One drink arrived with the glass only half full, when you are playing $21 for a drink you would think they could have filled the glass with ice to make it appear like a full glass. Service was atrocious and staff both front and back of house were not following basic COViD safe plans-such as wearing masks!!
Was excited to try the Mexican restaurant here! We waited at the front door to be greeted and a staff member approached us aggressively asking “do you have a booking!?” Not “hello” not “how can I help you”. The place wasn’t even half full 🤣After sitting at our table with little to no attention from staff we decided to leave and go elsewhere for dinner. The menu also looked insanely overpriced… and I’m from Bondi. $20 for guac and chips? If it had a nice vibe I would happily pay the steep price.. it’s Thredbo after all. Such a shame, there’s potential.
Could not stay due to covid ruining our plans, but was very happy with House of Ullrs communication and understanding. Will book again with them when covid is gone ...!
Location here is great. We needed extra towels, blankets and they gave us a heater due to the cold snap, they were always happy to help. Management friendly too. Only down side is walls are super thin and people next door were still pretty noisy at midnight. The restaurant downstairs does a beaut breakfast and is very reasonably priced!
Food and service were both exceptional. We ate the nachos and fish tacos, which were delicious. The margaritas are the best you’ll find in Thredbo.
Really recommend this place with amazing food and a really nice little room and if you are riding bikes on the hill this really close to both chair lifts
Stayed for 9 nights before and after Xmas for the Thredbo MTB trails. Amazing quality of service. Price is very reasonable considering the quality of the rooms and availability of storage for the bikes. The owner let us leave over 25k worth of downhill and ebikes over the Xmas weekend and we felt very comfortable with the security. Overall, a comfortable, affordable and convenient stay. Well be using House Of Ullr for future visits.
Got dinner here during my Thredbo stay and I have to say the customer service was great but for what i paid the food was below average. Expensive and I expected alot more flavour
Mexican food was delicious. Very fresh and tasty Ill be going back another season I got the slopes.
Really nice, big and clean rooms. The hotel has a bar and restaurant downstairs, we got a mountain view room, and it was just lovely to wake up to this magnificent view. There is also a room to store your snow gear downstairs, and its location is very convenient, very close to the overnight parking where you can leave your car, as the hotel does not have parking available itself. Short walk to the supermarket, bus stop and shops. Plus staff are very nice and super helpful.
Fantastic Mexican dining here. Great value for families. Friendly service, respecting Covid measures properly. Churros are a big hit - make sure you order enough to go around!
Amazing service, amazing location. Its like staying at a small private residence. Well definitely be staying here again. A big thank you to Aaron for the hospitality.
I only used the bar here but quick service, great tunes, had a little one with me and they even offered to adjust the volume of the music for me. Good selections on tap.
This is the second time my family and I have stayed here. The staff are friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the two bedroom room which was a great size for our family of 5. The bar which is right down stairs was super convenient. We had Mexican for dinner which was delicious and the breakfast was also a big thumbs up. Campos coffee was the cherry on top. I have nothing bad to say! We will only ever stay at House of Ullr. Thanks Aaron and staff.
The place has some good mexican food. Decent number of choices available as compared to the location. Staff is very helpful n caring.
We had a really nice stay here in a Mountain View room. Its neat and clean and close to shops and restaurants. Staff were friendly and the Mexican restaurant below was very accommodating of our request for a gluten free meal for my husband who is coeliac.
What a great place! Unexpected Mexican restaurant inside a mountain resort! Great set up, and the food... unbelievably delicious! All tapas so sharing is caring. We were blown away with how great the food was and they were happy to cater to my dietary restriction (dairy allergy). I highly recommend the restaurant!
Had dinner at the Mad Mexican tonight for the snowy ride and it was great! 👍 Great service and very friendly. Definitely worth checking out!
The one positive is the proximity to the base of the hill and Thredbo Village. Otherwise, this place is extremely overpriced for what you get. There is no linen service, no replacement of towels (I wouldn’t need a new towel every day; however, one would expect a new towel once during a 5 night stay), no replenishment of tea, coffee, shampoo, etc. Parking is ridiculous but that seems to be par for the course for Thredbo. The rooms are cramped and a bit dingy, dirty and showing their age. The shower was interesting in that it spewed water everywhere including up and over the shower stall. Considering this place is over $800 during peak ski season, I’d expect far more.
Stay away if you like sleep!Unfortunately 6 rooms are under a bar, they have put an area outside below the bedrooms, added a music speakers and lots of loud drunken talking.I did make a complaint and told what do you expect its a bar and restaurant! Its shuts down at midnight.I expected for $440 a night to do what you advertise sleep as its a hotel!Fair to say I wont be back.
Very basic accommodation but welcoming and cosy. Great location, would happily stay again. Restaurant is terrific, great food and service!
Great central location. Clean rooms, but getting a little old. We paid for mountain views which in this case meant standing in front of a tiny window to look at a small patch of the mountain, don’t waste your money. My room didnt have a bathroom blind so we felt a little exposed and the bedside lamp didnt work. Tiny TV. No onsite parking and you pay $30 per day for the privilege of parking your car in the public carpark 5 minutes down the road I’m sure it’s the same for the other hotels (thanks national parks). Theres a little bar and Mexican restaurant which means you hear drunken yahoos till at least midnight till they go away. Room very hot in the off season but I guess a good thing during ski season. My advice... stay at Jindabyne and bus it in.
5 stars goes to the Mexican down stairs!A Sunday night dinner was delicious and authentic, staff attentive and helpful with a great beverage selection.Love the spicy wings, the chimichanga and then quesadillas !
Great location. Clean rooms, but getting a little tired. My room didnt have a shower curtain and the bedside lamp didnt work. Tiny TV. No onsite parking. Theres a little bar and restaurant. No common lounge.
You guys are awesome! Very teasonable price and kids friendly and very friendly staff. Strongly recommend watermelon margarita and pulled beef soft shell 🌮. Mouth watering and really well cooked. We came for he second year and we shall be back again next year!! 👍👍👍
I visited in summer...the lodge is a winter lodge and so in hot weather, the hot water runs out by the evening as they dont run the heater during the day as it would heat the lodge up. Completely understandable, but worth knowing when you come down off the trails. Couple of glasses in the room and a few bits of crockery and cutlery for breakfast would have been perfect. The locals can give the bar a bit of a go in the evening and the sound carries up, but the manager is quick to settle them if you have a quiet word.Great location, really great staff and comfy, large room. The views from the top studio room are exceptional and the loft ceilings and angled walls make it quite unique. Fantastic pillows and excellent linen. Fridge was clean and all appliances worked well. I had to extend my stay and the manager was very accommodating.
