Do not go here! These people charged us $11,000 dollars for an ER visit that included an xray. We went to an ER in Wichita and were only charged $300! I was making large payments to them and because I did not pay in full in 3 months, I was handed over to a collection agency. They have been merciless How does this make sense?

Dr. Peter Morris exhibits pure unprofessionalism along with discrimination & ignorant behavior to a female patient! Not only was he disrespectful to the Female whom injured herself in this hospital, he failed to explain any aftercare to her, failed to issue her a Qustatim incident report number for her fall then told her she shouldnt have came to the hospital for a headache. After the woman told him her employer wanted her to come get checked out because while working and needing to coordinate with the hospital at which time the fall in which she hit her head extremely hard on hospital equipment, he replied to the female patient in the ER, "well you have free will" ! It didnt matter that her ears were ringing and her head was throbbing. She in his mind should have never came in to the ER to get her head checked. Im assuming if she would have bleed to death in her brain, that would have been her free will as well. This man is a disgusting disgrace! Shame on you Hutch Regional Hospital! By the way, The patient that fell and hit her head on your equipment, has an concussion. He walked in told her, stared at her.. she in turn stared back.. then he walked away. Saying nothing. The nurse came in having the audacity to say, you have an apparent concussion! Still everyone that walked in the room had no Qustatim incident number. Unprofessional! Dr. Morris didnt even discuss what this patient cat scan showed. Guess if she was bleeding and dying she would never know until an autopsy. Yet still where is the Qustatim incident report number!

Went to the the ER with my toddler for glue stitches on her chin. Care was fine, but they never disclosed that I would be billed for two doctors since we were seen by a Nurse Practitioner. The fact that I would pay $285 ($969 prior to insurancefor a consultation that I was not made aware would take place is unethical. That should have been disclosed to me when they said a nurse practitioner would be seeing us. Why even have them in the ER I if you are going bill patients twice? That’s is messed up. Also, I have no idea if they even spoke about my daughter because this did not take place in front of me and I was not told that he would consult with the doctor about her care.If a APRN cannot handle a few stitches without “speaking” with a doctor why are they allowed to practice within the ER? Don’t not let a nurse practitioner near you in ER. Learned my lesson.

Our daughter Melissa was in the ICU for 2 1/2 weeks bring treated for aspiration pneumonia. She has disabilities and has had reoccurring pneumonia since the middle of December. We were blessed with the caring team that worked with her through her stay. They worked hard on finding the causes for her issues. They were wonderful to our family as we stayed with her continually. I can not say enough good things about this ICU unit.

My grandmother was in the ER exactly one week ago today, due to severe pain in her leg. She’s had arthritis for years and years, and when we took her in she was misdiagnosed, (after 4 hours of waiting), with a fractured knee. We’ve taken her to one doctor and one radiologist since then who both have agreed that she definitely doesn’t have any fractures. That’s also just the beginning. I arrived around three hours after the rest of my family had gotten there, and I went to sit in a chair in the waiting room. A while after I sat down, my aunt informed me that I should probably move chairs because as I looked down, there was a little pool of blood literally under my feet. I literally stepped in that with my sandals. When we noticed the blood, my uncle said that he had gone to use the public restroom a couple of hours earlier and that in one of the stalls there was blood all over the walls and floor. He informed one of the employees at the ER, and they said they were going to get someone to take care of it. Hours later and nothing had been done, as a man sitting near us got up to use the restroom and came back and told us not to use that bathroom because there was blood everywhere. The man, and our family ended up taking some pictures of both areas that we found blood at, as obviously this is extremely unsanitary and probably against a ton of health codes for a hospital. Would never, ever recommend Hutchinson Hospital to anyone ever.

Took my mother to the ER and they said there was nothing wrong with her even though she fell and was weak. They said they couldnt keep her and sent her home and she fell again. Come to find out at a different ER she should have never been sent home cause they looked at her blood test and counts were high and they kept her and she is still there for influenza and other problems. I would not take my dog to this ER

Doctor Peter Morris treated my mother as if she was overreacting about a possible blood clot in or around her heart and lungs even though she had previously been diagnosed with a heart condition. He was annoyed at the fact that she was scared and anxious about doing the testing and CT but she eventually calmed down and agreed to do it, then Doctor Peter Morris refused do perform the CT and informed her "there are old people dying in the waiting room and I dont want to waste resources just for you to maybe not want to do it again" and then made the asinine suggestion on doing a sonogram on her legs. my mother has been diagnosed with extreme anxiety and previously lost her husband not even a month before this incident so the lack of patience and sympathy from this "doctor" was no less than unprofessional and simply ugly. Im unsure how this individual is still working in the medical field if he cannot simply show compassion and understanding towards his patiencee

For context, in december my mom caught and recovered from covid. Her primary doctor, and pulmonologist gave prescriptions to recover, and she was visited by two therapists and a nurse on a weekly basis. They all confirmed her lungs were not damaged by covids effects and she was healing nicely. She was kept on oxygen because she still had trouble breathing on her own but was assured this wouldnt be permanent. She was alert, was able to walk and for two months she was slowly recovering.A week ago my mother was brought to the hospital due to a pain in her chest. The paramedics checked her and said she wasnt experiencing a heart attack but it could possibly be angina or an anxiety attack. They suggested she go to the hospital to check. She has pulmonary fibrosis and arthritis and brought all her prescription meds with her so they would know what she was taking. At the hospital, they lost all of her meds that treated her pulmonary and arthritis. So they kept her for a week on ativan and morphine alone. We were given different stories each time. That she had covid again, that she had a blood infection, a bacterial infection, and pneumonia. And how when her oxygen levels would stabilize she would be moved out of ICU. They were rising, and suddenly she has heart failure. When we finally visited her she was half dressed, uncomfortable and in a cold, dark room. She had a fever no one was tending to. She could barely talk. Her condition worsened when she went to the hospital. The doctor told us she had pulmonary, which we already knew. And said they couldnt do anything and we should take her to hospice. The doctor seemed very surprised when I told them that my mother was alert and able to walk on her own before any of this happened. During her stay my mom would text saying no one knew what to do with her.

Wouldn’t allow anyone in my family to see a family member who was passing away. Then sent home the ONE family member who was staying with a dying patient. Main supervisor and nurses were Very very rude and disrespectful to everyone along with lying to us and to the children. I highly recommend any other hospital. Hasn’t been the first time we’ve had problems, had them years ago when loosing my father. Hutch hospital is overall the worst hospital I have ever visited.

Terrible. I went to the ER and they dropped me trying to do an X-ray.However several years later, my former husband was there for heart attack and pneumonia. They could not find the HIPPA form we had filled out. I was not allowed in when he was in ICU. I could stay for a while but not overnight. When I came back in the morning what I saw was horrendous. Were treated very badly. The nurses were so rude to him, ( they had him on drugsand would mimic what he was saying. Stay away from this place. He died.I will never forgive myself for not moving him to another location.I wish I could rate lower.

Husband and other family members have almost only had negative experiences here. From overwhelmingly unfriendly nurses, doctors, and staff to proper handling of basic billing policies. Staff is unable to identify documents and bills being sent out. Multiple calls on my behalf finally led to successful identification of bills. It seems as if there is detrimental lack of communication between staff members as no one seemed surprised at the difficulty I was having. Only with assistance from my insurance company was I able to establish productive communication with billing department. Insurance informed me that HRM has a reputation for incompetence handling billing matters. I am sure their are quality people working at HRM and that people have had positive experiences here. Unfortunately we have not experienced this.

I recently had a CT scan at this facility and was very impressed with both the staff and the facilities. The staff were very helpful and professional while the facility seemed to be equipped with the latest technology. The facility was also very clean. I was in and out of the hospital in a short time without the customary wait. The only item I would comment on for improvement is the signage around the hospital. I had to guess on which entrance to go into. This is a very large facility and can be overwhelming for a first time patient.

Dr Morris’s is very rude don’t care about the Patient saying I seen u last month and u had the same thing. Saying it was in my client head when there is dr note saying she has the issue she has. Saying will we get to do a pregnancy test when she can’t have kids. Even some of the nurses that are walking tonight and don’t care about the patient. You gonna sit there and tell me that it’s in someone’s head when it was… And from other physician saying that’s not very disrespectful to the patient We come to the Er. To get help n get treated bad.

Service for the birth of our child was wonderful. The issues started 3 months later when we called to start paying the bill and nobody ever picks up or returns calls. They also sent out a 2nd bill after they said they were combined and next thing you know we get sent to corrections. I spoke with a few friends and this seems to be a common issue. I don’t understand why the billing department would not answers phones. Ridiculous!

Been sitting in the E.R. with my 4 year old for over 2 hours. When they took him back to triage the nurse said she would get him back right away because of the symptoms he is having but we are still waiting. Then I ask how much longer & they just tell me they cant say. All I know is they better hope nothing happens to my son bc it will not be pretty. Worst hospital I could ever go to but when he is the way he is I had no choice but to bring him here.

When I was younger, I was taken in for intense stomach pain. I was told it was just "flu pains" and that I was fine. Over the week, I was brought in a couple more times, and told the same thing. The pain intensified to the point that I couldnt roll over in bed. My parents took me to the ER. Turns out I didnt have flu pains, but a ruptured appendix. I was rushed to emergency surgery. I came very very close to dying because of careless misdiagnosis and repeated negligence. There have been a few similar cases in my family over the years, serious complications or problems due to careless misdiagnosis or obvious apathy. I hear it time and time again from friends as well. Im sure many of the people that work here are good people and mean well, but the healthcare provided here is atrocious and the doctors are not held accountable for anything. I will do everything in my power to make sure im never in the care of this hospital again. If it is not a medical emergency, I urge you to do the same. It is well worth the extra drive to go anywhere else.

I cant rate it lower. My husband went into the ER with a temp of 103 and my 4 year old with a temp of 100 and they didnt do any tests, didnt spend any time with them. On the discharge papers, all it says is Suspected influenza. My 4 year old had a dangerously high temperature, I think any medical caretaker who actually cared would run some tests instead of guessing and calling it good and sending us out.

Beware Beware Beware!!!!!! Thats all I can say about this hospital. They charged me thousands of dollars for faulty test results and a stay in the hospital then refused to even write off any of the bill including the faulty test. The ER "doctor" was condescending and spoke to my son like he didnt need to be there. Even though it was 5:00 AM on Christmas morning, they had to be there anyway. My son had his tonsils out 3 days before and was told he should go to ER immediately if he started bleeding. The nurse was a little nicer but kept trying to make my son talk, and made rude remarks about "getting his tonsils out didnt cut his tongue out and he could still talk". Within seconds after that remark, he started throwing up a lot of blood. It wasnt until then that they took him seriously. Once the surgeon was called in and said they needed to get him into surgery, everyone from that point on was very nice. The ER at Hutchinson Hospital sucks. The nurses in the Recovery Room were friendly and helpful. I would not go to Hutchinson Hospital ER if it could be avoided.

Not happy here! My father fell and was told his hip was broken. We have been here almost 24 hours and have yet to see a doctor. We were told shortly after arriving that surgery was required. 1 hour before surgery is supposed to start, our family is demanding to see a doctor so we will know what is happening. Now, they just walked in and said it wasnt broken!

I had been prescribed a benzodiazepine for thirteen years for insomnia. I was unaware and never told how addictive this medication was. It was my responsibility to research what medication I was taking, but it simply stated it "may" be habit forming. I was ready to stop the medication. Never having been a drug abuser I was unaware of just how frightening withdrawal would be. I had no idea what lie in store.I strongly recommend any other hospital if you are attempting to discontinue Xanax, Valium, etc. These are highly potent medications which must be tapered off gradually. If you are unaware of this -- as was my case -- you will find the withdrawal effects untenable and will have to visit an ER. In your discontinuation attempts be forewarned that if you have to make more than one trip to the ER the hospital is giddy to brand you a "drug-seeker" thereby justifying the suffering you endure in their observations room while they watch you on camera. The first night, January 10, I sat in the observation room for an hour until I finally got up and found a nurse. The ARNP told me it was her first night and she apologized for my wait. She gave me a small shot of Valium. My discharge papers said to follow up with my doctor and to return if my symptoms returned. I was not given one tablet to hold me over until I could see my physician. I hadnt sleep in three days. I went home and was able to sleep from midnight to 3 a.m. I woke up my mind began racing. I called my doctors office first thing in the morning. My symptoms started to reappear ten times as worse by 10 a.m. My mind had been racing so fast for several hours that I had to either go to the hospital or throw myself in front of a train. It was psychologically horrifying. Never been through withdrawal of this medication before I didnt know what to expect. I returned to the ER in the morning (as instructedand was put in observation for over an hour. I was told "the doctor is coming" and "hell be here in two minutes!". This charade went on for over an hour. I wanted to run out of the hospital and throw myself in front of a semi on the highway. I cant even describe how horrifying it was. I had to ask a housekeeper cleaning the ER to go find out when the doctor was coming because the nurses had been saying "two minutes!" for over an hour. I lie prostrate on the floor wailing for twenty minutes before a nurse practitioner showed up.Pam was my nurse. I had to lie on the floor of the ER observation room and beg, cry, and wail for an hour before a nurse practitioner finally arrived. He rudely told me I couldnt come in every time I had a panic attack (prior to that visit and the night before I had been to the hospital one time in my entire life). He wasnt worried about my condition at all. He wanted to know why I didnt follow up with my doctor. I told him I had. He told me he saw that I was just in the ER at midnight (as if Im trying to pull a fast one on them by returning in the morning). Hes still disinterested in my condition. The excruciating mental anguish was no worse than being in the core of hell. He admonishes me that I just cant come to the ER each time I have a panic attack. I told him I was trying to get off of benzodiazepines and that I had to leave a message with my doctors nurse. He doesnt care (or doesnt knowthat Im highly susceptible to having a seizure from discontinuation syndrome. All he knows is that I was in at midnight and Im back ten hours later. Immediately "DRUG SEEKER" is at the forefront of his mind and he cant think past that. He immediately drew a conclusion without examining any of the evidence as it related to my individual case. The indifference by the ER staff was sad, but even more so -- it was frightening. They believe you deserve the punishment you are getting despite the fact the addiction came about through a legal prescription and you are trying your best to get off medication.Shame on the ER staff on the morning of January 11, 2016. There was no justification for my treatment (or lack thereofthat morning.

The hospital on-floor medical staff was great. The check-in, emergency room, billing and other such employees are an absolute nightmare. Also, if they call a specialist in to treat you or your loved one, BE SURE TO CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY!!! They called in a surgeon for my husbands gall bladder surgery, and our insurance didnt cover this surgeon!!! We werent informed of this until AFTER the hospital sent us the bill!!! Also, my husband was instructed to go there, by Hutchinson EMS, after being victim to an inattentive driver, who crashed into him. This happened a year ago. We are still receiving phone calls from insurance companies. There is a weak link somewhere in their system.
