Good food, service can be improved, they look like they are forced to work there, but thats a trend in Prague.
The best pizza in Prague. Service is excellent, place is comfy, with nice music and reasonable prices.
One of the best Italian restaurant in Prague. If you want to eat good Italian food, this is the place to go. You have a wide selection of dishes (starters, main courses and desertand a very good wine menu. Can only recommend for all food lovers.
Good food with Italian flair. Dishes are very good quality. Good service.
Was at this restaurant today..7 relatives sat down for a lunch meal.. The 2 caesar salads that were ordered were quite good.... My niece ordered the spaghetti carbonara which tasted good, portion size was small and overpriced. I ordered a simple spaghetti bolognaise which turned out to be smaller still than my nieces carbonara and was tagliatelle bolognaise. The waitress who took our initial order started eye rolling and complaining when we moved tables closer together.. I live in Czech, I understand that prices are going to be high in Prague. When I pay the high prices I want good portions, good food and polite service...This place needs to up its game..
All the personnel are really friendly and supportive. The meals are truly Italian.
Pizza dough was very tasty but it was a bit too oily. My kids like lasagne very much
Below average food, slow service. Not worth the price. There are much better pizzarias in the area.
Very very delicious High quality food and desert , loved the place, totally worth it .
The daily specialties are amazing for what you pay
Today we have big table for 30 of us and waiter Nicole take care of us from beginning. We call last minute and she was already nice through the phone, after when we come to their place she meet us and explain everything. From beginning to the end she was soo nice and we appreciate a lot.Thank you a lot again!!
One star is generous. Worst restaurant experience in Prague, or anywhere Ive ever traveled. I have a tree nut allergy and have been turned away from many restaurants that couldnt accommodate it... doesnt bother me at all! Tell me you cant feed me, just keep me safe! No problem. But not here... The waiter did not take my request seriously, was incredibly rude to myself and our small group. Myself and my friends tried to talk with other employees about the ability to safely prepare food, they were kinder but in the end, the rude waiter went so far as to present a plate full of nuts to one of my friends asking "is this what will kill your friend?? Is this a problem??" ... unbelievable. Of course, we left. Just awful.
Very good food . Thanks
Very good pizza and desserts, kind and helpful service.
Food was not done properly. Mainstream radio blasting with ads and restaurant stuff watching fun videos on phone with sound on. Dont get it. Owners- open up a fastfood truck, this is not a service you expect in a restaurant.
stopped by for beer and to check the menu.i didnt understand how the restaurant at vinohrady pour 0.3 beer in 0.5 glasses and say its ok but whatever makes your boat float il capitano. the toilet was clean when we came.otherwise it is a good location and nice outdoor sitting
We jusy got beers, i didnt loke the fact that wheb you order a small beer you get it in a big glass, looks bad whebln you get less then half a glass of beer...Toilet is very clean.
Although it is a good place, pizzas are tasty, we went on Saturday, and we found a place without booking.
The service was very bad. Waitress was rude and wouldnt give us time to answer our questions or explain clearly. The pizza was okay but the pasta wasnt good at all and the portion was very small. They charges us 55 ck (2 eurosfor tap water! And when we asked why and said we never faced that before, they said its normal and ignored us. It was such a terrible experience. It was
Very bad experience! The waitress/manger Im not sure, was very rude and not polite. They also charged us 55 CK for tap water!! And when we confronted her about it she said in a very rude way no no its normal its normalPlus the spaghetti was not nice at all and the portion was small.
I only order pizza from here and I cannot fault it. Especially the nduja pizza is yummy.
It’s a bit overpriced for mediocre food … I was not too impressed with my meal. Not sure why they had to make the Parmesan into foam but it didn’t have the impact on the eating experience that the chef expected.
I live in Prague and I can say that is the best Italian restaurant... All kind of menu dishes are delicious with a great variety.Staff members are always friendly, prices are reasonable and the spot is always kept clean. Service is fast too.Il Capitano keeping the tradition on what it means to be an Italian restaurant!
Nice meals, great price of beers but it was empty when I got there. Id like to see the place running in peak time to see the customer service for real
The worst experience ever. I used to go to this restaurant with my husband before the pandemic and it was lovely and You were treated like royals. Not so this time. The rude waiters were just a beginnig. There was some awkward and strange touching of my friend by the male waiter and the rudness continued - whenever You thought it could not go any ruder, they would take it to a different level. Which in the end ended up by the counter (were not able to bring us the check to the tablehaving us to explain, why there is no tip - asked in a rude manner and repitedly and, I mean, - what the hell?Definitely a no go for me.
The rude service. We went to this restaurant and asked for seat. The waiter (tall guywas super unfriendly. First of all we were ready to order our food and drink and he said that we need to order drink first, I did not understand, why we cannot order everything together. Then my friend asked the password for WIFI and he said "unfortunately" we have WIFI. He forgot to bring us the fork and cheese for pasta. I really DO NOT RECOMMEND TO VISIT THIS PLACE.
Ordered veal with potatoes and raspberry lemonade. The meat was very bad full of fat and tendons, not edible.Raspberry Lemonade tasted like sparkling water with color no taste whatsoever.
Nice lunch pizza for around 130 and a cold pilsner for 49 served by friendly staff. Whats not to like. Can recommend.
As for such an expensive place I was expecting a bit more. First thing is the atmosphere, or the lack of it. But I enjoyed the wine, the staff was taking care of us well. But i didnt feel confortable and I find the size of some meals just ridiculous. The octopus made us laugh ;)
I was there with my friends last weekend. very nice location, family atmosphere, very kind staff and kitchen ... super !!! extensive menu with very tasty dishes ... a must try is the suite of mussels in white wine with croutons and tuna tartare !!! if you have doubts about what to eat ... get advice from the staff and you will not be disappointed😋 I will definitely be back!!!!! 🥳🍾
Food was okay, nothing special and a bit pricey except from the pizza. The tiramisu was delicious though, you need to try it.
Going actually for a hamburger in the area , we came across this restaurant.Food was good in the weekend of the rainbow colors. Most of us had pizza. Very crispy, which is a sign that the pizza is a good choice!Restaurant was for a large part empty though, or maybe we were early. All in all, it was very good, but I really wanted that hamburger.......
Definitely 5 stars. They serve only Italian dishes. On the other hand, they very well know how to do their "foodart". I can recommend waiter named Roberto not only for his language skills and "food knowledge".
After moving to Prague from the West coast of America, I was looking for some good seafood. I ordered the mussels and they were extraordinary! Although the food is expensive, its worth it for the quality. The staff wasnt the nicest at first but once I showed them I wasnt a typical rude American they warmed up to me (I dont blame them for being a tad standoff-ish because Im sure theyve had to deal with one too many rude customers)All in all, a great dining experience 😊
Rude and pretentious waiter always smirking and sniggering to himself - he must have believed himself to be better than us.We asked for the cheaper red wine which turned out to be 185 kr for no more than 200ml a glass. What a rip off! Across the street it was 45 for more than 350ml and the wine was much nicer. The food came in due time and was presented nicely but lets be honest its not hard to make a pizza look nice. As for the flavour, I ordered a Picante which is traditionally spicy but this one was bland and tasteless I had to cover it in pepper and chilli oil to get any sort of enjoyment out of it.Would not recommend.
I Will leave my full review later coz its gonna be an essay. But for now I just wanna say they have good food and very very very BAD service. If you wanna have great service than you have to be rich or act like a rich and give em good tips. Yes, they have great chef. BUT, I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO SEE THEIR STAFF....
Very friendly staff, however very expensive!! 1,200Kc for a T-bone steak (about $54 USD)! It was a special, if I knew it was that expensive I never would have eaten here. I heard the waitress tell a group of four a few tables over their bill was only 63 euro for all of their meals combined. Not sure how that works.
This is a very cosy restaurant, the atmosphere is very nice, people are helpful, they also speak english (which is nice for the foreigners),you can pay by card and the food is delicious. Recommend it!
We waited half an hour to order, were only given one menu between two. Pizzas took a while to arrive, and were nice and fresh. Was a little hard to enjoy because the front of house staff spent the night arguing loudly with the kitchen.
I cant believe I had never been here after 5 years of living around Jiriho z Podebrad before last week. GREAT pizza. Nice servers, but very very busy. The special pasta that day was a scampi with truffles and it was delicious and very well priced for what we got!
Food was good. Prices were also good (I believe). Service was quick and friendly. One note was the exclamation marks (and some smiles and then "where are you from?"when we first declined the suggestion of ordering wine and later we asked if the meat was beef or pork. But all in all it was a friendly experience so it was not taken as an offense.
Great willing polite pro staff. Really enjoyed they serving and attitude. Amazing italian wine, bit more expensive but tasty.Food was savoury especially bouillabaise. Just amazing.Salad was without sould - gorgonzolla wallnuts and rucolla salad topped on eachother, with balsamic on side. Nout really piece of foodie art but edible. Overpriced for wat it was
Great service. People there is super nice. The food is good too, Italian. They have fish, pizza, salads, pasta, risotto, etc.The place is quiet and colorful. The art in the ceiling is beautiful. You can go with the family, or even for a date. The relation price food its good too.
Visiting this restaurant was a great gastronomic experience for me. The service was very pleasant and nice and complied with the requirements of my demanding friend. I had Italian capres, veal with tuna sauce and anchovies, and I really enjoyed it. Thank you and look forward to another serving from your menu. We certainly did not visit you for the last time!
I have visited several times before and loved it but the last time was a disaster. We ordered risotto and daily special - sepia ravioli, recommended by waitress instead of regular sepia pasta and one of us ordered starters as a main course. We had been waiting for 50 minutes and the ravioli were below average, too salty and much worse than the original dish I had wanted. At the end we got the wrong receipt and left a little disappointed.
Its a great restaurant, good service, the food is delicious and the desserts are very tasty...
Great place. I think one of the best fish dishes I ate in Prague. Also the pizza is delicious, actually everything there is well cooked. The service is great and welcoming. We really love all the staff there.
We visited this outstanding italian restaurant in Prague city center last month and it was amazing experience! We really liked the food and wine as well. The dishes were definitely made of very fresh and good-quality ingredients. All the crew members are professionals, also on the terrace the service was great. Also the stylish interior is very nice and clean there. We highly recommend il capitano ristorante to experience its mediterranean atmosphere.
Very very good pasta, tasty and something different to the standard italian food. The dessert was a bit dissapointing, but the linguini with seafood absolutely great.
Stumbled across this restaurant by accident and am really glad we did.The waitresses were very friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. The ambience was pleasant, as was the decor. The menu offered plenty of choice, even for somebody like myself that finds it hard when eating out.Whilst, I had a delicious pizza, my wife enjoyed a seafood risotto. Deserts were also very nice, including a special consisting of a mousse with chopped nuts and chocolate.Children were made welcome, whilst be quite discrete and there was also the facility to provide space for wheelchair users.Whilst the prices werent cheap, they werent overly expensive either.All-in-all, a really delightful dining experience.Thank you Il Capitano!
