Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in Weber County

The customer service lady hung up on me . I waited 1 hr on the phone since than I been trying to talk to someone… for three months…No luck trying to talk to someone. I gave them three stars only because I forgot to sign my taxes and they mailed it back to me. I mailed it back to them and it’s been a almost 2 months later. SucksI guess I won’t get my refund until December? There’s six month Delay for mail returns. I should have paid 80 bucks to file my taxes electronically.

This company has stolen from me $1,800 if I am not given back what I was supposed to receive as a stimulus of 1,800 I will take legal action and consider this tyranny of the government and I will revolt pay me what I am owed or lose everything.

This IRS is HORRIBLE!!! of course you can never get a live agent on the phone to talk to somebody. So I decided to drive here to possibly talk to someone in person. So I had to wait about 20 minutes before security cleared me through and when I got to the IRS department, there were 2 employees sitting at their desk. Didnt acknowledge me at all until I took a number and it was called. I was the only person waiting to talk to an employee. So when he called me over, I let him know I havent received any status on my return. He said he cant help me because I either have to make an appointment or call the number. I told him that number doesnt do anything and see if I can make an appointment with him. He said no and he wouldnt squeeze me in to check my status cause he was busy with appointments. He wasnt doing anything but sitting there!! Nobody was there and nobody showed up for those 10 minutes! He wouldnt help me other than kept saying call the number that doesnt do anything but spin you in circles. Such a waste of time! Very arrogant and wasnt helpful at all! He didnt even look or dress professional. He was a slob! Sad the IRS will pretty much harrass you for the money you owe them but take their sweet time to give you the money they owe you! If I could give negative star rating I would!

I filled my taxes for the ERTC back in October of 2021, I was approved and had my refund amount. It’s may 1st, 2022 and still no refund. One check was sent out but never came to my address and two other letters was sent out but never made it. I tried calling and they keep telling me that if I sit respond in 60 days from the first issue I would receive another notice but it’s has been since feb 7th of 2022 since the first notice. I can’t get a hold of them and nothing has been issued why are you’ll doing this. We need our money you guys don’t have not one good reviews it’s crazy

There was five people ahead of me not one person was helped! Every customer was told to call the number………….. I personally went in because no one ever answers your phone call when you called the IRS!!! To go in for them to tell you to call that number. The IRS website is surely not user friendly. BTW their was one person behind me, all I wanted was to set up a payment plan, how hard can that be?????

0 stars would have been better. Ive paid taxes for decades, including decades of married life, and never had issues until dealing with the Ogden office over 2019 taxes. My husband made an error, its true, because part of our taxes are complicated. He filed an amendment, which was somehow picked up as a second filing or something. Anyway, the Ogden IRS office sent back a sizeable check without explanation in 2020. They werent picking up phones. Early in 2021, the IRS said we owed an amount of a few hundred dollars more than the check theyd sent back. I attempted to send back all they requested by writing a check on the money market account it had been deposited in. Turned out the bank no longer allowed checks off that sort of account. As SOON as I found this out (from the bank!), BEFORE the IRS even requested it, I sent in another check from a checking account. The IRS cashed my check. Then a few months later, they sent us a check back, but it was less than the amount I had sent in. I didnt catch this right away because I was recovering from foot injuries, and I considered my tax bill paid. In late January 22, just 6 days before they were threatening the lien, the Ogden office sent us a letter saying they wanted payment of the full amount, now a few hundred dollars more, due to fees and interest, by January 31. I wasnt happy about paying it electronically because I figured they would mess that up, too. Sure enough, they did. Though I have records of the electronic payment going through on January 29, on April 25, we got a letter from the Ogden office saying the IRS was keeping all of the sizeable 2021 refund we were due (we had overestimated), plus asking for even more, saying we still owed that entire 2019 amount. They did not offer any rights of appeal in the letter, either. This office is a total and complete mess. I "want" to be understanding that the IRS has faced a lot of cuts and then COVID happened. But, still, this is ridiculous. It feels very bullying. It also feels unethical and a misuse of authority, so I contacted the IRSs own Inspector General. This is just really, really bad.

The IRS this one infact supports it workers calling and herassing the disabled and using the federal do not call list to do so. I filed complaints with the FCC and FTC about Heidi Thompson doing this plus have given the proof to them plus I set emails to the IRS with proof and the IRS refuses to do anything so 0 stars.

I dont deal with them on daily bases.

TRASH. The guy there came out very hostile and said we couldnt put our chairs together. The signs are very tiny. Then called security and had us kicked out for not being pleased with his hostility.

I live in Manteca California but I drive for Pride transportation there in Salt Lake City Utah I have a second cousin that works here and always great gave me good advice however it’s been one of them crazy years for everybody

I was very fortunate that my wait times were acceptable. The 3 people that I spoke with were extremely nice and very helpful. Yep, I did my taxes wrong and owed them money but I was so pleased that I offered to send flowers!

Why even have a phone system, no matter where you go you eventually get the message "We sorry, due to overwhelming..." and disconnect. Be honest, say this up front and save time and frustration. If this was a business, it would be out of business.

Calling them does nothing, they hang up on you. Trying to make an appointment does nothing. They ignore you.

Cant get through on the automated lines

Im tired of the its only giving stimulus payments where is my refund it has been 2 months last year I didnt get my refund til October when am I going to get my refund

As long as ypu have all the proper documents it will be a walk on breeze.

I was on hold for a total of about 15 hours for the one week I was getting my issue resolved. I was about to give up and lose all faith in humanity. However, I spoke with Mr.Shelton at the Ogden, Utah IRS center and it completely changed my attitude. He was one of the most helpful people I have ever met and was aware and appreciative of how much time I spent trying to get on the phone with the IRS. He took the time to walk me through exactly how to fill out a form, so I could get my issue resolved. I always thought of the IRS as a company who delivers bad news, however, Mr.Shelton completely changed my mind and I have a new appreciation for the work they do at IRS. There were other helpful people I spoke to throughout my journey, but he was the one who got the issue resolved. Thank you to IRS in Ogden and Mr.Shelton.

Filed our taxes on Feb 3rd 2020, still no refund. Getting through to the IRS finally getting someone on the phone after an hour, I could not hear what they were saying and then was cut off. Still no refund after 5 months as of July 2nd tomorrow.

I believe that the IRS has lost my tax return which the Post Office says was delivered to the IRS Ogden office on 27 March. I have tried to call, but have not found a way past their automated system - which hung up on me after telling me that it could not provide any information. The IRS is hiding behind barriers and providing poor service. Thats not good

If I could give 0 stars I would. Not organized, the phone system doesnt allow to talk with customer service. They were not able to allow Office workers are lazy in Ogden. Nothing good to say.

I filed my income taxes on January 30, 2020 and still havent received a refund and cant get any information from them. I would give them 0 stars if possible.

Just had to call and waited over an hour to get the same info I had on the form I’m trying to fax to them but the number they have on the forms don’t work I called they said oh we will give you a new number but guess what ITS THE SAME NUMBER. Then I ask for the address the lady tells me Utah don’t need the physical address just mail it to the irs in Ogden they will get it how is that possible without the address I’m no rocket scientist but I know the computers route the mail it’s not like a human actually looks at each piece

The IRS office in Ogden received my 2019 Tax Return at 8:39am on 14 February. Its now 22 May and I havent seen hyde nor hare of my refund. Its got to be better service than this!!

I sent my taxes to Ogden on February 18th. I have a small business so I must file on paper. At the end of March my taxes were "being processed" and that status remains the same. I realize because of Covid 19 workers needed to work from home but hopefully workers are now in their offices. I hope you were able to use the 10 masks I sent to you in April because I realize that your safety is paramount. I hope I hear from you soon.

Tax return was received and signed for at 6.24pm on February 12th at the Ogden office. I have still not received my refund or stimulus check. Good job everyone.

Mailed my 2019 income tax February 18, 2020. No refund issued yet. No stimulus check either.

I filed in early February. It was to be sent to Ogden, Utah. I did. Still nothing in late March. I contacted the main line and was told to mail copies of my copies with a letter. I did and sent return receipt. I tracked it and they received it on March 26. Still hasnt been processed. Tried calling again today. IRS offices closed. Not taking phone calls. Ridiculous.

Wait time is ridiculously LONG! representatives are very rude. He wanted to disconnect because my child was asking me a question because I responded to my child then after I sent my child away it was on speakerphone be complained about that also when I went to take it off speakerphone he hung up on me. He was very rude

IRS its all about corruption.

We sent in a very large payment certified mail. The Ogden Utah building received it on 10/7/19. They still have yet to cash our check, and interest is accruing. Finally had to stop payment on the check and make an appointment to go down in person to pay them. Unbelieveable!!

If it were a private business it would be out of business.

Trying to get ahold of anyone from the IRS is nothing but a nightmare!!! Not everyone has all the time in the world to sit around and wait for over an hour for someone to answer the phone!!!!!! Get more people working to answer the phones.

It made me go through a whole menu just to tell me that they are experiencing technical difficulties

I was ready to stab myself in the eyeballs by the time I made it to the this point with the IRS. Not all of the information they had on my was correct so it was an unbelievable guessing game online and on the phone to try and find out what they thought my info was. Try playing "mousetrap" with no hands and one eye tied behind your back, thats a close comparison.When I got here though, it was like I turned 14 and realized that mouse trap wasnt fun anyway, and the weight of the world was removed. I was helped immediately and it took maybe 5 minutes to correct all my info and get the things I needed. Thank you IRS folk of Ogden.

Hopefully all of this money is going to good places. I love this country.

You have to pay your slave tax or go to prison. Just dont deal with this office, use the SLC one up near the Avenues.

I have tried to fax a form to the office multiple times but They never received the document I sent. No response at all.. I am not sure why there is a faxing number on their website if nobody is checking it.

They are a joke. I UNDERSTAND REPS are doing their job but, they arent even efficient at that! I waited approx 20 for a rep to tell me, he didnt have the info I needed, that he would do an internal trx and that I wouldnt have to wait for the next rep as I was being trx internally... Immediately after the trx the automated system advised my wait time was 15-20 min.... after being on hold for another 20 min the call went silent. IT DIDNT drop, there was no wait music and NO REP!! AFTER repeatedly saying hello with no response, I disconnected the call. WHO HAS TIME TO WAIT 45- 1 HR FOR NOTHING. I HAVE TO WORK TO BE ABLE TO PAY THE STUPID TAXES/FINES... If you plan on taking my hard earned money at least have representatives that can provide accurate info!! OR provide better management as its obvious there is a lack in training.

Contrary to popular belief, the IRS and its employees, (~8000 in the Ogden Utah area), are not the evil power-hungry thieves that Congress makes them out to be. (Those thieves are the Congresspersons and Senators, imho.Tasked with ensuring that individuals and businesses pay the correct amount of tax under the law, they are as likely to point out a missed deduction or credit as they are to deny one erroneously claimed. The agents and representatives here have always been respectful and helpful when i have interacted with them. A cooperative attitude and mutual respect has always worked out in my favor, and i suspect that is always the standard operating procedure.

The way the IRS does business wouldnt stay in business in the real world! Its become a joke to even try to make a payment or even talk to someone on the phone! Not happy!!! I think I will just quit filing my taxes until a representative shows up at my door... oh wait it will probably be a robot computer??? Alert! Some people still like human interaction! I dont want to make an appointment to give you money either!

I shouldnt have to go through automated systems just to try and get my transcript from last year. I had to then try and talk with a lady who I not only provided my SSN to but then she wanted the specific names of the companies I worked for and I didnt remember them. Was my SSN not enough for verification as well as address?! How do you expect me to file(2nd year filingif I cant get that info easily?! Rude and unhelpful.

Our experience with the IRS was probably the best one Ive ever had with their organization. Everyone on the phone was polite and helpful. Even though they were extremely busy they found us an avenue to speed up our paperwork processing. The menu was not difficult to navigate, just VERY long, but thorough.
