Stayed for a week during the 4th holidays. Let me just say the view was beautiful and it was peaceful BUT the room we got, in general is absolutely out dated and not clean what so ever. Definitely over priced. I ended up having to buying my own cleaning supplies literal scrubbers and everything. It was filthy! Our towels stank.. The shower curtains were disgusting, bedding was literally sheets, pillows hard as rocks, old decor and literally nasty green carpet from the 50’s that was stained brown. I honestly don’t think they even have cleaners that come? I didn’t see not one the whole stay. Fridge didn’t stay cold, the list could go on and on but I’ve never stayed at a hotel/condo this outdated and filthy. Pictures are deceiving. Maybe they are updating other rooms but whew the ones that aren’t.. won’t ever be booking here again.

Excellent customer service. Clean room and the scenery was mind blowing. Will definitely be vacationing with them again. Thanks again for an awesome experience. Definitely made it feel like a home on vacation.

Staff extremely nice, even just in passing or small talk on the elevator. The room was as clean as clean gets. Everything was very effortless and I’d definitely come back again. And man the bed in room 405 is AMAZING! You want good sleep? That bed is it. Only single complaint is the elevators, they are extremely hot, slow and finicky. Look past that and have a great time.

I would never go back!!! Our room was absolutely terrible and do not recommend staying here! Wayyy overpriced. We did three nights and it was the worst three nights of our lives! For starters COCKROACHES! Had to kill numerous cockroaches in our room during our stay. We were so on edge because of it and barley slept. The pot and pan set below the sink was full of dead cockroaches. The pillows were paper thin, 0 neck support. For blankets all that was on the bed and in the whole room was two thin sheets, no comforter. The place was dirty and needed more attention to detail. All the lamp shades and pictures on the walls were crooked. We were suppose to have a dishwasher, even had a pack of dishwasher pods on the counter to use. But no dishwasher. Instead we had two mini fridges that barley even worked. Who needs two mini fridges? The coffee pot was very old, dirty and they didn’t even have a single pack of coffee to brew. Most places have at least a pack or two. The balcony view was beautiful but the patio chairs were short and when you sat in them you couldn’t see over the balcony railings. I will admit the location was perfect and check in was very easy. But overall I wouldn’t even give them one star. I will never recommend to anyone to stay here. I could go on and on but those were the main important things.

Great location on Okaloosa Island. Our Condo was spacious, newly renovated with Granite counters, Stainless Steel appliances beautiful furnishings & Beach Art. The Master bedroom & Guest bedroom were ensuites, updated & spacious. There was plenty of closet space, washer/dryer & TVs in both bedrooms & Livingroom. Large balcony overlooked the pool & excellent view facing the Gulf of Mexico. The bed was super comfortable. New carpet needed in Master. Everything you need was provided. We absolutely love this condo. We will definitely stay there again & again.Selina D., Decatur, GA.

Im currently here and they have a really bad rat problem. Multiple rooms and the staff does nothing but put down rat traps and thats only if you hound them over and over to deal with the problem

Update:I loved my visit so much I booked again for July.Would be great if someone from management would respond to my question.I am two days into my visit.Leading up to my visit, I received text messages from the property reminding me of the trip date and building excitement. They are very hands on. Absolutely amazing customer service.Check in was a breeze. We arrived after 5 pm and there was no problem with punching the code on the keyless door. It went very smoothly.This place was spotless. Like, you could eat off the floor if you wanted. There was not a single speck of dirt anywhere. This is an excellent post pandemic clean.It is an older business and it does look that part architecturally, however it has been maintained beautifully.The room we have is a 1 bed queen with a queen sofa bed. The bed and living area are together with the kitchen and bathroom separated.The kitchen is supplied with all the essentials to cook, eat and drink with. There is no kind of food items. If you want coffee, salt, spices etc, you will have to buy or bring them.We use bottled water. I do not know what the water tastes like. We drink and cook with bottled water at home.I would highly recommend this business to anyone looking for a really nice vacation spot on the beach. You just need to be aware of a few minor details.They do provide starter shampoo, soap, and dish soap. Towels and dish rags are provided but, if you use more than what you need during the visit, you will have to wash them.There is a pay washer/dryer on my floor. You will need laundry soap and softener. The trash shoot is also located on my floor.They do not provide beach towels so, it would be a good idea to being your own.The thermostat in my room uses a boiler/chiller. It will heat if temp outside is below 70 and cool if it is above.The TV has an option to cast. Getting connected to the wifi after set-up has been a no go so far.We bought an air mattress because the mattress on the sofa bed is really worn. The springs are so bad.We did notify management and they did attempt to fix the situation. They bought a memory foam mattress topper but that really did not resolve the situation. The mattress is bad.We did not want to complain because really, the management tried to resolve our problem and it really wasnt an issue to get an air mattress.Within the office there is a large size area with tables and chairs, and a really nice up to date exercise room. There are free weights, elliptical machines, tread mill, stair stepper and a incumbent bike. There is also a TV.There is a reading area with a decent size library of books and some games. The chairs look comfortable. There is also a pretty nice kitchen. I am assuming the kitchen and seating area can be rented out.My condo has the most beautiful view.I can open the door and hear the ocean. I can see the ocean. The water is beautiful shades of blue and the sand is white.This has by far been the best location I have ever been to and the condo is really nice.I really appreciated the communication via text.The only reason for not giving 5 stars is really just because of the mattress and the fact that no one mentioned needing to wash the towels if you run out. I texted before we left for our vacation to see if they were provided. I was ready to pack my own, but this was a better option. They did communicate fairly quickly through text. I was not able to reach anyone via telephone.All in all, we are having a wonderful visit and thank the staff for doing their part to make it so nice during a pandemic.

What a beautiful property, gulf front! Clean and well maintained. The front desk staff of Vacasa are friendly and knowledgeable.

Beautiful gulf side view! Beach is the off season and almost deserted everyday. We kept our door open every night to listen to the surf. Restaurants are all within 15 minutes or less.

Definitely one of my favorites places to stay! I only live 5 minutes away but my kids love to stay there because of the pool and beach accommodation s. Since they have new management these guys are on point and professional. Not to say the last ones wasnt. If you and your family are coming to enjoy the panhandle make sure you book with the Islander to get the most out of your $$ and to make memories that last a lifetime!

Great experience and great view. They have a pool and umbrellas/chairs. They also have cornhole boards you can get to take on the beach and a gym.

The room we had was immaculate. The beach chairs were included the condo was recently renovated with fresh paintCaulk sanding and grinding and the end result was beautiful. We dated here last October through a rough week but the location on the beach affords a sunrise AND a sunsetView from the beach! Our condo was clean and densely updated with new appliances. Is the man managing the beach chairsAnd umbrellas wasPolite and efficient and attentive and has a great personality. He made our week at the beach even better!

Lovely area, balcony, Horrible bedding! Balcony & inside furniture from 80s. They charge arm & leg then use the CHEAPEST bedding,soap,dishes,etc.. No extra pillows or blankets or anything. Very Disappointed.

Islander 7009Good location to beach, view is great and the condo size is good for 5 adults. Condo building is clean and quiet. Location is good.7009 needs a detailed clean and regular maintenance done…toilet seats bad, front door jamb broken, carpet needs a shampoo. Patio door blinds are broken, fridge drawers and shelves are cracked. All needs attention and a good cleaning! A/C intake is full of dust as the bath fans are too. Guest bath toilet is loose on the floor.

The pictures doesnt do this condo justice. It looks so much better in person. Its amazing and perfect for us. We will definitely be back. We are staying in 5003 and the views are BEAUTIFUL!!

We stayed in room 702. The accommodations were great! Just enough room for my wife and me. Awesome view of the gulf. We stayed in a studio room with kitchenette. The place was very clean. They provided soap and shampoo. There were enough utensils to cook and eat with, a fridge with icebox. The parking was spacious and close. The only complaint would be the bed. It was not comfortable to sleep on, however spending the day on the beach in the sun, I did end up going to sleep. The beach attendant, Jeremiah was awesome. It was amazing to watch him put the chairs and umbrellas out and up each day. Overall we loved our stay.

Property has good parking, excellent access to the beach and pool. The staff is helpful and friendly. This is my third stay at the Islander since 2016. We stayed in a studio room #702. The kitchenette has everything we needed. Bathroom has ample towels and we were provided with shampoo and conditioner. The bed was terribly uncomfortable though. It’s lumpy and not very firm. That’s the only complaint we have. Thanks for the stay!

Excellent location, close to everything. Alittle pricey but just this time of year and with covid precautions/extra cleaning. Plus we booked last minute! 🙌

We loved it there!!! The beach is awesome and not to crowded in front of hotel. The view is amazing. Nice clean room. You have code for door to get in room, no check in or out required if room bought online. Family friendly. Nice pool and environment.

Everything easily accessable. It was clean and Im very good shape. Elevators worked great. Pool was kept clean. Just a short way to the ocean and umbrellas were always as available as well.

Currently having a blast. Our condo is on the 7th floor and has amazing views. The bed is very hard, but the pullout is a lot softer. Over all its a great place to stay and will stay here again.

Wonderful week at the Islander. Clean and quiet. 3 Beach accesses, nice pool. Great beach service w/complimentary 2 chairs and 1 umbrella per room. You can rent another set if you have more in your group and it will be reserved. Parking is great and free. Only 6 stories, so elevator wait time is not long. Beds are comfortable. I definitely will be back. Customer service is great too!

Nice place, office staff was super nice..there was construction happening the WHOLE TIME we were there on vacation. Probably wouldnt have been so bad if my Husband could have gone to the beach with me. His health wouldnt allow it, so, he endured ALL the noise and cable TV cutting in and out.It was a good time after 4 yrs of no vacation anyway..we tried to make the best of it. The price was reasonable, more so than most, so maybe the construction was why.

Booked a vacation here months in advanced only to receive an emails month before our reservation that our balcony was going to be inaccessible due to construction Requested a room change and was told ok, never heard anything back from them. Had to cancel, this caused my entire vacation to be canceled. If you value your vacations choose another place to stay.

My son rented this condo booked 4 months in advance 2 days before check he he got a text stating there was renovation that wasnt complete. The didnt offer any other room .. only a credit for next year. Knowing that there was no place e available to go ton the beach. They gave them a 125.00 discount. The balcony was shut off with a scaffel in the way so they couldnt enjoy the beach view. Also the air conditioner wasnt working. Thir answer to that was you can open the balcony door..but it wa closed off. Also they got a text stating they had to be out of their room by 10 instead of 11 the night before. Maid was there at 10 on the dot. So this place doesnt care about customer service.Only how much they can make!

We had an amazing stay in room 705 hosted by easy vacation solutions. The room was clean and had a complimentary box of donuts for the local donut shop. The kitchen was perfect for our short stay to help reduce our cost of eating while on our trip. The furnishings were beach themed adding to the relaxing beach feeling. The pool was easy to access and the beach access is right next to the pool. The office staff were very nice and they guys that set up the beach lounge chairs and umbrellas. The only draw back was that they were upgrading the exterior so we did not have full access to the balcony. We will definitely be coming back to stay in the same room. The sunset was amazing to see through the window and we even found some shells and sand dollars early in the morning at low tide.

I was unaware of renovations being done- check- in was as easy as advertised--had some internet issues-- my wife had an unpleasant experience in the elevator with whoever was cleaning it. Old patio furniture and floors were dirty. The hotel staff was pleasant though.

This place was over priced. The view was pretty when it wasnt obstructed by construction people peering in through the balcony chit chatting on the patio at 7 am until 6 pm or later. The management never let us know there would be maintenance on building outside our room for the whole day and wouldnt move us to another room. The beds were terribly uncomfortable the floor was more appealing. I wanted to cook and save some money while on vacation however the cooking utensils were broken yet still left there to be used. The thermostat didnt work. Pictures of the studio apartment are beautiful but thats about it. You can truly experience better service at a hotel down the street with no hidden fees and way better amenities. Literally the final price was doubled then what was advertised. Read the fine print they screw you over. Save your time and your money and go else where and be able to truly enjoy this beautiful beach.

Great condo, very clean and wonderful amenities. The locks are keyless entry which is great when youre going down to the beach. Wonderful view from the balcony. Two beach chairs and umbrella are provided daily and they are set up in the morning. I love the fact that you are right on the beach. You walk out of the resort, you are at the pool, take the boardwalk and you are on the beach.

Great beach location. Not very crowded in mid August. We rented a condo through Airbnb for about half what the local hotel wanted. The pool was nice and clean, but nothing spectacular. For Airbnb guests, the beach chairs and umbrella were extra, but well worth it. A great relaxing vacation

Location and view are the best part. The place is old and outdated, elevator is very sketchy, and our air conditioner/thermostat only worked part of the time. Biggest complaint was the giant roach i killed in our room, the whole building needs better upkeep. Overall it was a good trip because of the beach, not the room.

This is our first vacation to the island where we chose to stay at a condo. Although our rental unit was "acceptable" as we literally had to clean the unit ourselves, from there it went down hill. The walkways to the rooms were always filthy, the elevators were gross and the pool and pool areas were ignored. After three days we finally saw a maintenance worker vacuuming the pool. The filtration system was improperly maintained and algae collected around the system inlet and wasnt drawn in. Not once this week was the area surrounding the pool washed down, swept or the trashed picked up. The pool was small and it seemed as though the operator of the complex sold daily passes to the pool. Every morning bus loads of kids were dropped off and picked up in the evening. The pool at times was so full that enjoying it was out of the question. We will definitely NOT be returning and would steer others away.

Stayed in room 604, really enjoyed the view and the room itself! One thing I really liked was that these condos were built well, so you dont hear your neighbors talking or stomping around so much on the floor above you. It was easy to check in and the beach access was super easy to get to. The location was great too, only minutes from dining/entertainment but in a more quiet section of the island.

Visiting a friend, so only my impression as a guest. But I was not impressed.Its possible that the condo are more spacious than other places, and the lighting did seem quite good inside. Even more seating than maybe expected. But too many mirrored walls, and that did not seem safe with and children around. The fridge in the (otherwise decent sized kitchenliterally had doors of two different colors. Side-by-side doors. Maybe that isnt a big deal for others, but it left thinking that owner/management is all about doing things cheaply, which worries me.The parking lot was not well lit. The street outside the building was not well lit - we had a terrible time finding the entrance in the dark. The floor, as we exited the elevator was not well lit, and felt like we had walked out into a parking deck. It was perplexing and off-putting. The door, when we found the right condo, had lots and lots of security locks on it...which is both sorta of reassuring...and worrisome at the same time.I was glad to spend the time there visiting, but happier to be on our way back to our condo 10 min away.Its been a number of years since we stayed on Santa Rosa Island, but I dont remember it feeling quite so sketchy.

Our stay here was amazing! The condo was perfect and exactly what the pictures showed. The beds were comfortable and the condo decor was very relaxing. I have absolutely nothing to complain about!! We will definitely book this again next time!

Huge construction site next to our hotel. You couldn’t even sit out and enjoy the view without hearing all the banging and drilling. Our room was small but fine for 2 people, but the bathroom was awful. The towel rack was coming out of the wall. You could see the many plaster jobs they had done to try and fix it. The ceiling was peeling off and the caulking around the shower was black and gross. Definitely would not recommend and will not be back!

Extremely nice view and room. First night some kid pulled the fire alarm. Not Cool! Kids loved chasing ghost crabs at night on the beach. Ocean wasnt quite as "emerald" due to tropical storm the previous week. All in all a great place to vacation.

Renting room 604 which is a compact studio at best since it is about the size of a hotel room. The room is clean and noise has not been an issue. The room is fairly modern in style and the bathroom is updated. The room has a Keurig machine rather than a standard drip coffee maker which forces you to buy k cups instead of standard ground coffee. Overall I would recommend this place to stay if youre looking for a place to stay.

Great quiet, less frequented area. Have only spent one night here so far, but it seems they have everything we need and free beach chair/umbrella setup is a big plus. Had a small maintenance issue, and it was resolved very quickly. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent location and beach service! We booked via Brooks and Shorey (they also own property there. Super clean, heated pool and amazing views. This area is quieter and you will have to drive for dinner etc, but SO Worth it! Private beach access and low traffic/noise. This is where you come to unwind and relax. FYI...you can claim your chairs at 8am and they will be reserved the rest of your day vs 9am most places.

The condos were clean and updated. The pool was warm and big enough for the vacation crowd. The beach was clean and the provided chairs and umbrellas were wonderful . We will definitely come back. P.S. bring a blow dryer one is not supplied.

PERFECT! I love this place. It is so clean, we looks new. We always stay in a certain ocean front condo, and love It. We have went the last 4 years and it gets better every time. The water is so pretty, and clear, and teal. Check this place out if you want a calm, family fun vacation with great prices.

Very much enjoyed our stay in one of the owners Home Share units #106. It was absolutely adorable! Decorated very nicely. Just be sure to bring toilet paper for your crew because you get a standard, single roll of each. Otherwise, great place!

Were currently staying in 1-207, July 2, 2017, which has been updated and could be very nice. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the unit was less than 70% when we checked in. The pictures make the unit look very clean, but there was hair everywhere. It was medium length dark hair and it was obvious that the cleaning staffs efforts to clean was less than subpar. The refrigerator had crumbs of food all over the inside, so my guess would be that they completely forgot to wipe it out. It has a very nice view, but is on the side of the building next to the public beach access, which hasnt been an issue for us, but some people may not like dealing with people coming and going all the time. Today we finally went to the check in desk to let them know that the shower curtain in the hall bathroom keeps falling off the wall, the rod needs to be replaced, as we have tried several times to fix it, but to no avail. We werr told that they would make a note of the issue, probably not the response that would speak to great customer service. Im giving three stars because the unit has been nicely upgraded, but unless they get a new cleaning staff, or do a cleaning overhaul, I would think the cleanliness will continue to go downhill. Also, since we will continue to use the shower, it would be nice to have the shower curtain rod issue addressed while were here since well continue to take showers since were here for four more days.

Excellent hotel in a safe area. I didnt need anything fancy, but this place exceeded my expectations. The view of the ocean is breathtaking, and well worth the price alone. The room itself was small (448 sqftbut it came with a well stocked kitchen/dining area. The staff was nothing special, no real customer service. The complimentary umbrella/two recliner combo for the beach was very helpful (but note they take them away at 5:00p on the dot). The location is great, because its farther away from the crowds, but still close enough to some convenience/liquor stores. I went in late April, and there were times that my wife and I were the only people on the beach, so timing is important as well. I intend on coming back every year or two and staying here from some relaxation.

Very clean with a great view of the beach. The kitchen is a little small, but it had everything I could think of. I was even able to bake a cake for my mother in laws birthday while we were there, since it was stocked with a hand mixer and pans. I also thought the room was a little nicer in person than in the photos! I highly recommend the Islander and would definitely stay again.

My husband and I absolutely love this resort.!! Its peaceful and has a family friendly atmosphere. This is our second time staying here,our first time without our children! We are staying in a studio unit and it is fabulous. We are definitely considering this resort for every getaway!
