Amazing place for hiking, winter sports , to feel close to nature
Awesome view and great place to hike. It’s a pity that the lift is not working.
Ještěd Tower is a 94-meter-tall television transmitter built on the top of Mount Ještěd near Liberec in the Czech Republic. It is made of reinforced concrete shaped in a hyperboloid form. The towers architect is Karel Hubáček who was assisted by Zdeněk Patrman, involved in building statics, and by Otakar Binar, who designed the interior furnishing. It took the team three years to finalize the structure design (1963–1966). The construction itself took seven years to finish (1966–1973).It looks a bit like a Martian building.
Very impressive slow hiking from the parking lot to the restaurant 😀.Good view and many trees are good 👍.
We ordered ice creams and pancakes. Prices are good as for the location. Ice creams were almost instantly melted because of hot berries. Pancakes were weird as I didn’t expect micro size and this is what you get at this price - three miniatures of very light pancakes. I think it should be mentioned in the menu as it’s one of the most expensive positions in the desert menu. Crodino was alright but bottled anyway, the lemonade (most expensive in drink menuwasn’t very good, it states “lemonade with raspberry and lime” but besides nice colour it’s not very tasty - it was like carbonated water with a lot of those calcium tablets with raspberry taste and a hint of lime when you squeeze it but not to much. Not refreshing at all. Overall I recommend to eat there as everything looks good and plates looks taken with professional care, the waiters are really there and are very helping. Also prepare if you say you’ll pAy “by cash” they understand you mean paying in coronas. The place begins to be crowded about 11 o clock but before it’s a loads of free space in a restaurant. The interior is great but we were in a part of dining room (there are 3 separate as I could see and 2 of them were closed not available to sitwhich was in my option the worst - those tables and chairs were not in a spirit of the whole jested building.
Amazing view!
Beautiful place, but watch it, you can only pay in cash.
Nice view from top of the building. Nice restaurants and cafes outside and inside. Dedicated parking place for cars and motorcycles.
Best time to visit in the morning and evening sunrise sunset
Great place to visit to have some amazing local food and beers.
Nice place 🙂
Have to be there if you visit Liberec.Nice restaurant with traditional Chech food.
Very nice place to go
Nice wiev great kitchen
Nice place to spend time with exellent view at the top
Incredible views and excellent architecture
Amazing place... And unique in the world 🌎🌎🌎🌎
A very unique building that every visitor to our region should see and also a nice up hill walk.
Great local slopes. It can get busy, but the wait isn’t too long. This trip was walking to the summit though. Lovely walk from the top parking (3.5km to summit). If you go when there is snow, take a sledge with you, the ride down is great!!!!
Beautiful view. Last part of the road is not cleared of snow, snow chains may be required. Parking requires cash, might not refund.
been here in 2020 , top the view was awesome!
Famous place with amazing view :)
recommend driving to the high parking spot, then taking a small walk for the rest of 500m. Be prepared for great views and strong winds.
Very awesome experience going up to this tower in the cable car. It was a beautiful view from top down to the city/town
A cool place. The funicular up and down the hill takes its time, though.
Its an awesome place to see. Can access by hiking, rope car and by road.
Very beautiful place and view! Recommend going there by foot as the nature around is astonishing. Plenty of edible mushrooms and berries. Perfect place for nice Ike.
Highlight If you want to visit Liberec. Beautiful view, very impressive.
Dont go there bad maintainceThe view is ok but overrated.
This is a great look out point. There are several trails to get up to the top. We started at parking Jestedka and followed the yellow trail for about 4 km. There are several stops along the way, such as "Stone gate", "Red stones", and the 1948 aircraft wreckage. This is a suitable trail for kids of about 5 years and older. No strolleys. In mid July you can pick blueberries on the way. Weekends, holidays, sunny days, get crowded but still worth the visit.
Maybe a masterwork of architectureProbably the best masterpieceI love it.If you dont visit the place..lI take no regrets
Very nice view, good fish - way above Czech standards in the mountains. Definitely recommend the place for weekend and also for a date 👌
Such a beautiful place. When you visit the Liberec you have to visit also Ješted. There is also beautiful the sunset.
Fantastic place. The best idea to go up, its by foot. There is amazing forest, especially in winter time
Ještěd is a beautiful place above the town of Liberec, television transmitter, hotel and restaurant with a viewing terrace on all sides to Poland, Germany, the Jizera Mountains, Giant Mountains or Bohemian Paradise. From Horní Hanychov you can either take the Czech Railways cable car or walk through the forest (about an hour away at a brisk pace). The views are really amazing and this place is one of the most popular in the Liberec Region.
Really beautiful place with wonderful view.Dont expect special service from restaurant, they do not offer even cream to coffee/ tea, only milk. But it doesnt matter, enjoy the view! :)
We went to visit here year ago. We were lucky enough to catch an amazing sunset! To reach the tower you have to walk a bit from the parking area. Up there is also a restaurant which we visited. The food and the service was not so good (2,5/5). You should definitely catch the views from here, but not so much to go to eat eat. Would give 5 stars for the lookout point!
Great location, Fantastic view, unique architecture, exciting surrounding, adventurous arriving options. I keep returning despite high prices and unfortunately very unprofessional and unhappy staff.
Lovely spot overlooking north Czech and parts of Germany. Good food with some traditional dishes. You can take the cable car up or walk.
Good friendly service. Was very busy but there were enough places to sit.Staff speak English and German.Food was good and reasonably priced. We mainly ordered dessert and coffee. Not many vegetarian main options but lots of dessert choices.Nice views from here also.
Amazing building with fabulous views. The building is a little bit dated but the service offered by the staff is very good. Charming and well worth a visit
It is an interesting venue for a a restaurant, but if its covered by snow you wont get much of a view. There was a 30 min queue when we got there. Food is OK but nothing great, although prices are really ok for such location. The service wasnt great, but it could have been because it was full. Careful when ordering a drink, like a lemonade, as they use huge plastic straws (2 per glasswhich is awful.
Rooms looks nice. I would say a bit overpriced for Liberec region, where you can stay for one nights price in a cozy romantic cottage for a week, but the view is something! 😉
The view is amazing however its probably the only thing keeping the place open. The food is absolutely average fare and a poor price/quality offer. In terms of the staff who can always cheer up a substandard joint, thats not the case here. Inattentive, likely because tips seem not to be shared. So if your waiter or waitress is on break, good luck catching the eye of anyone else. The one who eventually arrived was abrupt and argumentative from the beginning, grouchy although admittedly eventually helpful. I can understand it, its a tough job, but their system lends itself to a very poor dining experience overall.Enjoy the views but bring a picnic..
Great views from this sixties style architectural treasure. The restaurant is average, but OK with professional service, which served us quickly and friendly. The pumpkin soup was not what we expected, but the main dishes looked and tasted good.We waited with rating for the coffee, because of former (badratings. But also here no unpleasant surprises. We had a good aromatic espresso. Were looking forward to try the hotel probably this summer.
The restaurant lies inside Jested tower, and over lunch time is very crowdy. The restaurant is more in functionalistic style. Meals are fine but nothing extra, mostly Czech cuisine only. Homemade lemonades, children menu, desserts, and alcohol drinks are offered too. Interior is in circle way and offers a great view. Menus are in Czech, English, and German, but staff is not always bilingual. During lunch time is the staff busy but you get meals fairly fast. Prices are higher, especially for accomodation.
I have been here few times in past , but last time we visited Czech Republic I took my kids there. It was pretty crowded that day. I didnt really want to wait down there for the cable car, so I decided to walk up with my younger son. And we really enjoy it.We didnt dress much and it was really windy up there, I really regret that I did not took our jackets that day, so be prepared. On the top there is place where they rent scooters and you can ride all the way down and return scooters there. They have more options/ trails. But since we werent dressed enough we chose the shortest one.My kids were 9 and 11 at that time and since they are growing up in USA where it is "safety first" they were little bit afraid driving down scooters on the side of busy road, but at same time it was exiting for them. And I must say, drivers are careful and they are used to pedestrians and others on the road. Can wait to go there again.
Nice winter tour (actually its a nice tour for summer as well). Jested is completely fine place for fresh air lovers... you can go up by walk or by lift and on the top, there is a nice view... and in case you are hungry... you will find a restaurant in there.
Unique place that offers great views, good food and absolutely fascinating architecture and design. Inside the hotel and rooms, a lot of the original design seems to have been kept and/or restored so the experience is quite different from contemporary modern places, but still comfortable enough except for the lack of (properly functioningair conditioning although it wasnt too bad at the time of our stay.We were pleasantly surprised to find a handful of vegetarian dishes on the menu, the ones if which we tried were quite tasty and well prepared. Staff was friendly and provided good service although English sometimes seems to be a bit of a problem but they definitely try.The location and surroundings are obviously amazing, which combined with the sensation of actually staying inside this monument of a bygone era makes it a must-visit for everyone visiting this part of the country!
Hotel has award winning futuristic architecture, it was recently listed by CNN in "must visit places" article. Restaurant offers magnificent views and also quite good food. Unfortunately service is restaurant could be improved.
