Your typical neighborhood bar with some dining. Food was pretty good.

Their taco pizza is awesome! Went had just arrived into town visiting family and my son wanted to order this! Glad we did! 4 stars because we didn’t eat in so I’m not counting atmosphere!

Food was good. A little too much cornmeal in the fish breading for my taste. Reasonable prices for bluegill.

The polish cook Nat knows what she is doing in that kitchen. The food was delicious. The bartender Megan displayed good customer service and was always tending to my drinking needs.

We tried jj for the first time. The food was good and they have tots on the menu which makes all burgers even better. Thanks for a good lunch.

Hard to do a bad fish fry but gross.... definitely not worth $20

Waited 15-20 mins to order, waited another 45 mins for our appetizer(nachoswhich only ended up coming when the rest of our food did. My food wasnt even edible. Fell apart as soon as a picked it up because it wasnt cut through and soggy. (Ruben sandwichThe meat on my nachos wasnt cooked through. (Ground beefIve never give reviews but this was upsetting to say the least.

Great little place for food. 4 stars because the quality of food has gone down and prices up. Also, flies were bothering us while trying to eat. Building inside needs a little repair. Hole in the wall of pool room. Otherwise, this is a family favorite to dine at!

Food was good besides the burger its underdone and to raw for me, some like it that way and so I really cant complain besides the burger being just too pink and mushy would order again tho I would just say medium to medium-well next time but definitely worth going to it had great flavor and the tater tots were awesome best wedges Ive had in a LONG time, and straight fries were awesome, and definitely try the jalapeno poppers they were unique in an amazing way... Im looking forward to trying them again.

Do not go here for dinner. I had a pickup order, the cook was really rude, the bartender ignored me, the food was sitting there, I paid and she never went and got it. I asked the cook when she walked by and she literally said I dont know anything. I didnt get marinara for my shrimp, I ordered extra ranch for my salad and never got it. I had go come back in because they didnt give me any utensils for my food or crackers for my soup. Theres flies everywhere. I believe the owners gave up. I would fire both and hire a real cook and a experienced bar tender. Also the way the bartender let the customers disrespect the business and disrespect her was embarrassing. The bang bang shrimp was literally pre packaged shrimp which wasnt even spicy. The kitchen looked very filthy and gross. Whoever does the hiring firing and training needs fired as well.

The food is absolutely amazing! Looks like a regular ole bar. Maybe even a place you would just pass on by. DONT! The service and food are outstanding! Hidden Gem!

Food is really gross. Floppy burger meat that isnt even fully cooked.Beer cheese tasted like they dumped a whole bottle of beer in the cheese and then served it.Definitely dont recommend this place for the food. Plus, it took an hour for them to make food for just me.

I was there for the 1st time the Sunday before 4th of July weekend. Excellent food!!!! Friendly staff! Bartender said shed only been there a short time and I didnt catch her name but she was awesome! My new spot whe Im in Laporte. Keep up the good work thank you!

Had an absolutely amazing experience at JJs. Our service was fantastic, food was delicious, and prices were very good. I really have 0 complaints about our visit. Next time in town we will be sure to return.

The service this time was absolutely horrible. All of the tables were dirty except for one. There were a total of 5 people in the bar so not busy at all. It took our waitress Brittany 20 minutes to come take our order. The food was hot and very good.

Swiss steak wrap is amazing!! And my husband loves the peanut butter burger! (Might sound like a funny combination, but so delicious!$7 burger special on Mondays, just wish the deal included some of the specialty burgers/sandwiches too, as those are $13-15 each. Definitely quite a good amount of food for the money, though. And service is always good!

We had a really great meal. Prime rib, green beans and baked potatoes was absolutely delicious. The waitress was very good.

I had bought the sample platter and when it got to the table it was humongous. So needless to say it was well worth the price and our waitress was phenomenon. Definitely will be going back

Best food in town. Burgers, wings, fish fry: undefeated. Best Polish cook in the Midwest. Can’t beat the hospitality, you feel like family. That’s jjs.

Food was great. Fish was on point today. Being I have worked in many kitchens I was quite impressed with with the quality. Not to shabby of a joint.

Former employee and I still come here to eat! The burgers are bye far the best in town! Specials weekly.. Little events. But I still enjoy coming here.

Broke down stranded walked this restaurant. My Dads buddy is on his way with flatbed and a couple next to us paid for our meal...omg god.is so good!! The food and staff were absolute amazing!!! A+++

Walked in, lady behind bar on the phone looked at the 3 of us and then turned back around and ignored us the entire time. Two people from the back walked up front and saw us too and not a word said. Waited and waited as employees walked past us and continued to ignore us. Sat at the bar and looked for a new place to eat and gave them time to acknowledge us until I found that new place. We walked out and were probably forgotten very easily. Tried supporting a local place and ended up eating at Culver’s instead.

We have talked about stopping for lunch or dinner at JJs Side out many times just never get to it. Well it finally happened. We picked a day they had a cheeseburger special. Wow, really great burger and fries. Someone had the Chicken tenders and were delighted with them. You could get fryes, tator tots, wedges or Cole slaw as a side. Really nice Margaritas. Were looking forward to going back soon.

Nice little neighborhood spot. We got there at about 3:30 for a late lunch. Very friendly and good food at a low price. I have wings and my wife is had a burger be with potato wedges. All was delicious.

Delicious. I had the Italian beef sandwich with fries. Delicious home made beef, extra crispy fries. My partner had the grilled Reuben with fries. Perfect amount of meat and dressing. Great service from Jessica . If I could I’d give it 10 stars

Food is too expensive 26 dollars for 2 burgers and Tater tots and a Pepsi. Two times Ive ate there both times something was not right with the order. First time mayo and mustard was so caked and sloppy you couldnt even taste nothing else and eventually the burger just slides out of the bun. But for this kind of service you should definately reevaluate your prices. Only good thing I can say is they have really good fried pickles. Thats it . Dont think I will be going back with prices and the experience Ive had with them.

Ive heard so much about their burgers that we finally decided to give it a try. When we walked in and observed the "please wait to be seated" sign, we waited. Finally, someone said, sit wherever you want. We did but then it took quite some time before we were given a menu or asked for drink orders. As Ive worked in the restaurant industry for a long time, I always give more grace. Eventually we were given menus and our drink order was taken. The burgers were very good, though anything more than a basic cheeseburger had add-on prices, even though the advertising states burgers are $7 on Mondays. All in all, it was a tasty meal. Unfortunately, I wasnt impressed enough with the service to warrant a return visit any time soon.

Great food, decent value. And, thankfully, NO smoking! I can finally enjoy a “Bar” and Grille!!! I don’t even drink anymore, but the food, I highly recommend. We had our friends Birthday party here. A group of 10 of us.The waitress Jessica was AMAZING!!Not only did she keep our drinks filled, but she took great care of us!The food was spot on & we even brought our own cake in.Thank you for making a Great 55th Birthday Party!

I played a gig there recently.Blue Heelers BandThe food was good!Italian beef was out of sight.The owners were so awesome.Side In, sophisticated tavern environment.Side Out, beach party complete with sand volleyball.Everyone had a blast!

JJs did Amazing. Our 1st delivery driver broke down. They remade all of our food, 2nd driver was wonderful and polite. The food was Awesome. Burgers were made right and the appetizers we the BOMB. Definitely recommend!

We usually have a good experience here. Today was an exception. 9/5/20.Unfriendly service and an argument about using our restaurant.com coupon. Our server was inconsiderate in her mask use. She had it on her chin when she was at the table. Why even bother? She only showed up again when it was time to pay. Without the restaurant.com coupon allowed anymore, we need to rethink and hit up 3rdb base or the numerous Michigan City places.

Had the steak wrap and it was really good!! The appetizer platter was amazing to. What I was really impressed about was the service we received. We sat outside and owner checked on us frequently. I would come back here if I am ever in the area again.

They have online ordering. Their food is awesome! I have been getting lunch here and im never disappointed.Staff is great. Food is great. Theres an outside entertainment area, volleyball, bags, etc.. very nice. Family friendly during the day.This used to be a rough bar and they did a great job at cleaning it up.

We ate here a few months ago and the food was fabulous. Since then, weve tried a few more times and the food has gone down hill significantly. Burgers are over cooked to the point of them being crumbly (ordered it medium rare and got crumbly over cooked meat). The buns have been burnt and overall just not very appetizing. Wondering if they got a new cook? Their smoked gouda bites are yummy!
