Dam which is under completion is a wonderful place to visit in rainy season and winter. Nearby we have Shergarh Fort and guptadham and few water falls. Not much snacks/ food options. Better carry your own food and water

This is a Karamchat Dam also known as Durgawati Dam. This Dam is surrounded by Shergarh mountain, gupta dham mountain and so many other mountains. This beautiful dam and beautiful scene is situated in Rohtas district in Bihar. There are so many beautiful waterfall near this Dam. Durgawati Project Dam popularly known as Karamchat Dam on river Durgawati is one of the most preferred tourist sites in Kaimur district. Situated at a distance of 37 kilometers south east to Kaimur district headquarters town Bhabua, the 1615.4 meter long and 46.3 meter high dam is set amidst beautiful sceneries of hills and forests full of different species of wildlife and birds.

The source of the Durgavati is about 11 kilometres (7 mieast of that of the Karmanasa. In its upper reaches it is a rocky channel 6 to 9 metres (20 to 30 ftwide. It runs nearly north for about 14 kilometres (9 miwhen it plunges down the rocky boundary of the table land in to the head of deep glen named Kadhar Kho. There it is joined by three other torrents that like itself rise on the table land of the Turkan Kharawars and fall down the rocks at the head of the same glen. These three torrents are the Lohara, Hatiyadub and Kothas.The Durgavati joins the Karmanasa as a right bank tributary.
