I usually only go here for my shakes but they absolutely ruined my okay shake that being said everyone has a bad day now and again so I recommend this place highly and will hope my next trip is my usual fun enjoyable experience.
Fun old-fashioned drive-in car hop type restaurant. There is a small indoor dining space if you dont want to eat in your vehicle. There are lots of fun soda drink options and varieties to try. The food is well made and delicious.
We got corn dogs and soft serve. The staff was friendly and the food was good. Fun place to take the kids, especially if you want something quick but are tired of the usual fast food.
The food here is good! If you like a good sized meal I recommend the burgers, theyre bigger than the other sandwiches. I got the waffle fries and they had seasoning similar to Arbys fries. They also have some drink offerings that other places might not have, like Ironport and Lime Rickies.
My husband and I were in the area visiting family/friends and decided to go out for lunch with a friend who suggested this place. Now Im not usually one to write a review but the experience we had here was completely unacceptable. We seated ourselves as their sign says to and waited to be served. No one came over to offer water, see if we needed a few minutes, etc.Others who walked in after us were promptly seen to, orders taken and even had their food delivered and mistakes to their orders fixed all while we sat there waiting..Its not like there are that many booths or tables where we could have easily been overlooked especially since those who came in after us were seated and served across our aisle. After waiting close to a half hour we walked out, even walking right past the counter without a word from those behind it.I am extremely disappointed and frustrated at the lack of courtesy and professionalism at this establishment.I doubt well ever go back after this experience. In the end we received better and more prompt service from Chick-Fil-A up the road.
The foot long hot dog and big joe hamburger with French fries was really good 👍. My husband and I first time at kirks drive inn. 🚗 🙂 our services was nice and welcoming us .😁.
Terrible food. Onion rings, fried shrimp and fries were cold. Drinks had no ice in them and the tea was unsweetened and bitter. My husband had to put 7 sweet and lows (all they hadto make it drinkable. The employees, kids obviously, were super nice and polite. They were very busy and running around. The floors in the cooking area were disgusting. The grill from what I could tell was caked with grease and was not being cleaned. Like I said previously they were busy but that is no excuse.
I adore this place. Im not frequently up this was, but I make sure to stop here when I am. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food is amazing. I highly recommend the waffle fries and shakes :)
Sweet potatoes were delicious. Chicken needed to be cooked a little longer. This was my first visit an Ive live here 60 + years.
Disappointed and high priced $31.00+ for two. We used to eat out at Kirts about once a week prior to it being acquired by the current owners. This is the 2nd time trying it and it was as disappointing this time also. The Chicken Cordon Bleu was a plain chicken sandwich, no ham, no cheese and not much flavor. Fish and Chips the fries were way too salty and the fish was soggy and not cooked all the way through. We were hoping that the food had improved. Should have cooked dinner at home..
The shakes at Kirts are amazing!!! My family and I have been getting ice cream here for years! Kiersten is absolutely amazing too! She was so kind and made sure everything was perfect and tasted amazing!
Very pleased with my visit! Our first time here. Service was phenomenal, food was excellent. It wasnt very busy when we were here and the crew was busy cleaning windows and the rest of building. We will be back because I cant wait to try other things on the menu. If we had known this place was here we would have visited a long time ago!!
These dolts over double charged me for my meal. It was 12.49 for it, 16.00 with my tip. Showed I was charged 30.84 on my bank statement. I knew I shouldnt have went to a place ran by high schoolers. I mean I went to school in Utah, too. But I can read receipts & numbers. That was my first & last time Im going to this place. Peach City in Brigham or Burger Bar in Roy is better anyways.
Kirt’s gets two stars because of it’s icon status. I grew up locally and Kirt’s has always been around. Jeff was always cranky, but the food was consistent and he was usually efficient. I’ve been twice since the new ownership/management took over. I’ll say that they are trying, but each time I’ve gone it hasn’t been great. I will say that they are trying, but the poor reviews over the last year are consistent with my experience. Hope they can turn it around, because it’s part of the last bastion of original drive in’s. So I really hope it does well.
My wife and I stopped here for ice cream on a Saturday night at 9pm. From what we could see, we were one of 7 cars there so not exactly a busy night. We waited 35 minutes before our order came and they caught us pulling out of the spot to leave. The saddest part of the story is that it was good, but Ill be damned if I go back.
This was the first time that I come to this drive in. I was not sure if I would like it or not. I received my food. I was very pleased with it. I left there being full. I was very satisfied. The staff was friendly too. Great Job! Keep up the good work! Would recommend this Drive-In!
Im a non-Utah native now living in the Ogden area. Im always on the hunt for local and delicious versions of my favorite foods. One of my favorite foods is banana shakes. The ones Ive tried so far in the local area dont taste like banana. At best, they taste like vanilla, e.g., the vanilla ice cream in the shake. However, after eating a banana shake last night at Kirts, my search for this particular ice cream treat is over. The shake tasted very banana-y which is the highest compliment I can give. Bravo Kirts!
I used to come to this place all the time for their Chickwich sandwiches and now they don’t serve them anymore. Makes me feel sad and disappointed for Kirt’s to take away the Chickwich sandwich off of their menu. My family and I will not be coming back.
This was a very delightful experience. Charlie Peterson did every thing perfect he is by far the best one in there. Love you all. Charlie should a raise.
Ordered two meals, got one and waited for 30 minutes. All these reviews can’t be wrong. Maybe give a copy of what is ordered when it’s ordered?
They have nothing here gluten free except drinks and regular fries (shares a fryer with breaded foodsand their menu is very small.I asked about the waffle fries and was told they are gluten free, when they came out they clearly had flour on them.My son said his hamburger was "SO GOOD" but he didnt eat very much of it.Theres a lot of choices to eat in Ogden, unless nostalgia is my goal I will not be coming back here.
Great food, good service. Music is great. Really fun drive-in, and also really nice to go inside.
Would give it 6. I’ve only been in Ogden for two months and I’ve driven to Kirt’s at least once a week. One of the best burgers and experiences I’ve ever had!
Everything about the visit was 4 starts. They missed 2 items that I paid for, though it was a decent sized order. The bacon seemed different than normal, possibly under cooked or different brand. The service was a bit slow, even for a large order, considering I was one of 3 customers. It was an okay experience.
I must admit, I was really excited when driving to our new house in North Ogden and noticed this place less than two blocks away. Childhood nostalgia came rushing back. Sadly, the good feelings ended there.Ive been here twice in the last six months; once inside for a "quick" shake and once to the drive-up for a "quick" lunch. On the dine-in trip, we stood at the counter for about 8 minutes before someone came to take our order. Its not that we hadnt been noticed, employees just seemingly had other things to do. The drive-in experience, from the time I pulled in to the time I pulled out, for a corn dog and onion rings, was about 30 minutes.Heres the thing, its not the employees fault. On both visits, I noticed all the employees were 16-17. If there was a legal adult working either time, I didnt notice. And kudos to them, theyre all likely working their first job(s), and to their credit, seemed to be hustling to get the job done. The car-hop I saw was RUNNING in and out of the building to each car. When she approached mine, she was kind, courteous, and took my order with a smile. With four cars in the parking lot and one family dining in, all the employees seemed overwhelmed. No organization, no supervision, and no fair....to the kids working here. The owners here owe their young employees much better. The problem with this place seems to be management/leadership. You cant expect a group of kids to run a business, but it seems to be the norm here. The food is what youd expect for a drive-in. Fried and grilled....quality was fine. I just wish I didnt enjoy it on the back of an over-worked, under-trained teenager. I will continue to support this place for the people working there and to hopefully help hold up a local business.
The previous reviews about the service and how they cant anything right is spot on. The food when we finally got it was wrong and had to go back and redo it. Then we got it again and it still was wrong but didnt bother sending back. It was ok. Next time Ill just drive a few more miles to Brigham City and go to Peach City drive-in. The food is the exact same as here but without all the problems this one comes with.
Someone needs to give these poor kids running the show some help. We came on a Saturday night inside the building to order and they were running around like chicken with their heads cut off.Poor kids were doing everything they could to get orders out. Not only was it busy but it was pretty obvious not a single one of them were 18 or older.Management needs to step up and offer more support for their staff. They shouldn’t be severely understaffed on a Saturday night. Three groups of families behind us walked out without ordering. If we hadn’t already been helped, we would have to.We ordered two shakes for $12 and waited 36 minutes (yes, I counted. The kids did everything they could and were very professional! They just need help! And if you’re having a hard time finding workers, a good way to get reliable ones that want to stay and work hard is to pay more. I don’t know how much you pay, but it’s a start. This place can either be really good or really bad. I’ve had some great experiences here, but this experience (on 6/25was not so great. The food is always spot on! Just be a good employer and help your staff!
Always a family favorite! Shakes and fries are the best date night menu item when the kids are left at home. Sammie is a doll.
Excellent service from the staff. It was pouring rain but she was really happy. Good shakes, food was ok but very greasy. We went for the fun and quaint atmosphere. Im going back for shakes.
LAST TIME!!!! It’ll be the last time coming here for sure. It took over 30 minutes to get our food. It gets worse the girl that was our ‘server’ took our food to the wrong car and she realized it was the wrong car and decided to give it to us even after the people opened the bag and looked and touched our food. So we got cold food with other people touching our food before we even got it. It’s bad when you see cars leave before you when you ordered before they were even there. This place is not the place I recommend at all!! Drive on by and don’t even think about stopping.
Kirts is an iconic staple in the North Ogden area! As the name says, it is a drive-in and is designed to give you a flashback to when these types of restaurants were more common. Overall, the staff is amazing! They are always doing their best to get you your food quickly yet make it delicious and up to your expectations! They also make the stay inside amazing as they check on you frequently and will even sing people happy birthday if they are celebrating! Kirts makes their food with care and so it does take a bit longer for your food but it is a great place to go to chat with friends and family. Kirts has changed a little bit with different management, new menu items, and a few other things but it is still a gem and deserves to be checked out!
Service is good food is good. I had the big joe bacon cheese burger. So good! The only issue I had was I got someone elses order. They were training so I can understand. But the trainer should of been paying more attention.
Horrible experience......been going here for 40 yrs, today was different. Food was cold, and we waited for 45 minutes for our food to arrive at our table. We never received one of our meals until we asked about it. They did not seem to be understaffed as I counted the 9 people in the kitchen that I could see. The staff seemed to be confused. Perhaps they needed a manager leading them and directing what needed to be done. Next time we crave a simple burger and fry meal, Burger bar in Roy will be our stop.
Pretty disappointed I just moved back to this area and remember this place being good. It has been 8 years so maybe it has new management but we got two things a banana split and a shake. My split was missing the banana completely and my husband was plucking Styrofoam out of his mouth only a few bite in and ended up throwing his out. Based on other comments it sounds like the employees are pretty distracted there and not paying attention to what they are doing and need to be a lot more careful. Sadly I won’t be going back so I will never know if it will improve but I hope this helps others or even management. The second Picture is of the styrofoam out that was in my husbands first bites. The first picture is of what was in the rest of his ice after we rinsed it through this strainer. Scared to know how much of that my 3 year old ate because my husband gave he some off the top of his before he starting eating his.
I came in to kirts last night, I would like to say it was terrible I had a younger girl with braces and black hair take my order I didn’t think to look at the name and she looked so overworked and stressed and saw her coming in and out of those doors taking multiple orders while the other employees where messing around inside. My food took about 30 minutes but she came out every 10 minutes telling me how sorry she was for the wait. She brought out all my food as fast as she could. While I saw all the employees dancing and laughing around while this poor girl looked like she was on the verge of tears. I would also like to mention i come here often and have seen her before and she still is always the only one I’ve seen doing her job. The new management has failed kirts.😔
I didnt take any pictures but I ordered the fish and I got 6 pieces . Im a old customer and really enjoyed the old owners Id Isiah order the family size fish came with like 15 pieces. . But ever since the new owners the fish is terrible compared to what it used to be. Why keep the same name if your going to just change the menu and they get different fish now. Ill never come back after this last visit. My fish were so greesy and mooshy . They cooked up the fish so fast. I cook better fish stick from the grocery store. So upset. And my limerickey had no ice in it. My drink would of been warm if I didnt ask to get ice in it after chugging some it down to make room for ice and then got kicked out of the lobby because they closed the lobby early. It was like 830 pm.. anyways. Worst experience ever.
I got food tonight we got shorted an order of fries and they messed up two of the burgers completely. My kids still liked there though I took a bite and just couldnt eat it because it didnt taste very good. My son said he liked his though. But this is the second time weve been shorted and had our order messed up and they refuse to make it right. I wont waste my money on this place again. I was extremely disappointed
One of my favorite places to go growing up. It has slowly declined over the past year. The food is almost always incorrect or the staff is having a hard time to stay focused. If my kids did t like the fry sauce I don’t think I would go back. The new prices and the awkward service just is t worth it.
Horrible Horrible… seriously the worst ever tonight Kirk’s drive in….Got there at 7:03 ordered 2 burgers and 2 fries and 2 freezes, waited till 7:30 and finally got the food and they forgot the regular fries. I then asked about my burger and large fry as you can see in the picture that is not even a kids meal side of fries. So she explains she will get more coming well by 7:48 we finally received the fries…. Really almost an hour to get the food and by the time we get them the rest of the food is cold…. Super sad to say the least….. If this is the service we can expect coming here now then I say stay away everyone.
Someone wanna tell me why a medium cherry lime freeze was $9.25? I know d*mn well a drop of sprite and lime does not cost $3.50, they done finessed me and I will not be returning, I knew Dylan’s/Warren’s had my heart. How very dare I be disrespected at the place I used to work at.
Great service! Fresh cooked to order and delicious. Love the environment they have kept. Large satisfying burgers, hit dog and fries. (Thats what we ordered but there were other options.Recommend trying here before eating at another boring big chain like McDonalds or Burger King. 💕
I’m so surprised that my Philly cheesesteak was so bad. Normally your food is so good. Maybe because of how busy you were had something to do with how bad it was.
We recently moved to the area and have wanted to try this place. We came on a weeknight at 7:30pm and weve been waiting an hour and still havent gotten our food. Its now 8:35 and nothing. Kids are asleep and definitely not going to spend another night here. If we hadnt already paid over $30 for 3 sandwhiches and some fries we would just leave. We wont be coming back.Quick update: Finally got the food. If you happen to ask for the Big Bacon Cheeseburger without the bun, it costs about $7 and looks like this... (see photoWish I could take my one star back.
Im sad they didnt meet the hype. The waffle fries were amazing, they had a great drink selection, and my husband liked his burger. But I ordered a bacon blue cheese hot dog and they came out with a burger. When I pointed it out, the car hop said the kitchen made a mistake. Which I get that stuff happens but it wasnt very busy and theres a huge difference between the two. Then I had to wait another 10+ minutes. When it finally came out it was obvious that it wasnt right because there wasnt any bacon or blue cheese, but I confirmed with her that this is what it was supposed to look like. So just a heads up that the bacon blue cheese dog is actually topped with a slice of cheese, mayo, and onion, but no bacon or blue cheese. We were also disappointed with our shake. For a place that lists "real ice cream" on their menu, I was expecting real ice cream in the shake. It definitely is not. It tastes like the kind you get from the machine in a gas station.I was disappointed with my visit and likely wont return.
Stopped for the first time as I always drive by. I ordered fish and chips as they cook cod. Fries were ok, but the fish was so Greasy that I got a stomach ache after. It tells you that the cook didnt know how to cook fish. Probably the oil was not at the right temperature. No vegan choices on this place either. It was expensive for the quality of the food.
I was pleasantly surprised its an old school Drive-In where the people walk around outside I mean it looks like something out of the 50s it was a really nice place and the food was superb but the best thing about was the waitress that came to the car she was just awesome
Car hop service prompt & friendly. Same as my first visit one month ago. You push an intercom button; theres a note saying a CarHop will come and they do appear quickly.Tonight ordered: Cowboy burger, waffle fries & peach/cream/soda, water-no ice, extra catsup for fry dipping.Brought soda, no ice (fine cuz was coldand requested payment. I forgot not liking that payment system previously. I have to tip not knowing the service quality or what is to come with food. Both my visits ended up needing more employee support. Second visit I tried getting by without having to summon another employee. Both times the second employee was a different person than the one taking and delivering the first order.First time I tipped both, giving the 2nd, a larger percent. My theory was that I would possibly have to tip based upon prior visit; since I had no history in the beginning of tipping. That didnt feel so nice because, the first person received only 20-25% and I paid the second more based upon the service from the first. First contact: tiny order-a port soda. But answered many questions because for a newbie. Created interest for more Second contact, same visit, entree. Larger cost bigger tip. Not a good feeling for me because first hop was the biggest contributor to my positive experience of the two.Tonight I received order seeing a container of fry sauce. Great! Not able to see the scant fill until lifting lid. I tried to do without more, ended up pressing the call button and speaking in order to save double trip to me. No one ever came. By now fries are not hot. I called out my window unsuccessfully to six or seven employees passing the front of my car. After exaggerated wave, eye-contact made. Asked the gentleman to ask my hop to bring two more fries sauces. He said he would take care of them.Did so, fast and they were both fuller than the first one I received. Now I was in another tipping circumstance. Do I tip additional dollar (or fewfor his appreciated help? Do I carry cash to give many tips without additonal 2 trips required for credit card transactions?Tonights food: Meat patty- plenty. Burger sitting on top of a singular onion ring and jalepeno, besides the ones inside. Nice presentation. They need to get better quality buns! See photo. Top bun flaking off was extra messy INSIDE the car. Wont do that again. They do have outdoor tables. When I saw carhops clearing tables I thought I was doing them a service because cars condense their garbage on the return tray. Tables were strewn. Next time, if there is one, Ill leave my a/c, sit at outdoor table, bring note describing how to split a cash tip between multiple hops. I must always be hitting shift changes?I dont usually drink much soda. Was such the cause of a "physical need developing as I exited", waiting in the parking lot for traffic light to change. If I had known the exponential urgency, on my short drive home, Id have asked if they had a public restroom before leaving. Could the cream in my soda be the culprit? Never before and I hope never again. With new ownership and SARS-2, the car positions are frequently busy. A potentially awesome flashback in time. Exciting. (Forgetting the actual logistics.)*The, sort of hidden ice cream shop located kiddy corner from here has got everything right. Too bad Kirts is not as on-pointe.The peeling bun issue is an EZ resolve but the fast food credit card tipping/paying via car hop(screates undesirable impacts.Having a person arrive to your car when the speaker is there, but not working, causes empathy for how much unnecessary running the Hops have to perform. Hmm...Who likes ordering from an old time intercom system? Much nicer for customers the way Kurts is running the awesome human connection, ifemployee physical exertions not accounted.A conundrum, tipping is already bizarre here. Would I rather pay before the order arrives or have my food sit (get coldwhile paying? Upon further evaluation, can Kurts method be improved so that hot food takes priority?
Really awesome drive in, located in north Ogden that looks like it has been here for quite a while! They looks like they have been a staple here for quite some time and I can see why. They have a smallish menu but still a decent amount of variaty even so. The ice cream is quite good and one of their signature items. I totally recommend!
Very cool drive in. The burgers were very tasty and milk shakes were awesome. Just pull in and a server with come take your order. The building is very unique as well.
Burgers and shakes are good but I wanted to try the hot dog today, I have no idea why anyone thought this was okay to serve... The bun was hard as a rock and even visually its obviously overdone. I dont live far so its not a big trip to get a new one.. But still.. Really? ....ps the replacement is hard as a rock too... Thanks guys
