i love ko and i recommend it to people who like the performing arts. the electives are rlly fun but some teachers are rude. mr byrd blames everyone for why the class is behind or points out every mistake u make and makes u feel bad about it. but some teachers are rlly nice like ms ratigan and mr gaskill.

I like the school because I always wanted to go and it has a lot of opportunities and it has a magnet program that I would love to go to but unfortunately I need a zone variance which is uneasy to get so ko if you are seeing this I would love to go to your amazing school as an A-B honorable student It would make my middle school years amazing thank you!!!

(Sorry for spelling in this story )Ok its 14 more days till school and ive been here for 1 year and this school is cofusing if you finna go the prepar for staring when you walk in secend i was sooo confused when lunch came around 1 and 2 lunch nun like elementry i was supposed to go to 2 lunch and i went to 1 lunch so i missed a class and then i went to the other class and i was so confused and then after 2 lunch i went to my class and then i got called to the office and this mean lady ( ms gomesyelled at me like she was my mother i didnt under stand a word she was saying and she realy hurted my feeling oh yae this school do have nun and i was sent back to my class and that runin my hole day and that was only my 2 day of middle school=( thered all the other reveiws was right about the fights one olmost happened in frount of my and some be out side the school and the deans be following to sometime becuase someone allways tell them and yea thats all =dk says hi

I had experience here. I started 6th grade here and now going to 7th I really recommend this school. Just a few things do your work and follow the rules that way everything is easy. This school is amazing for future students who want to come here. The food is amazing the teachers and staff are wonderful. The people who work here believe in you to be a successful person in life. Overall the school is great and wonderful I really recommend it.

These two years Ive been in ko really changed my life, when i first came to this school I didnt feel comfortable at all cause i didnt know anybody but i met some amazing people I couldnt wish for, my favorite part about ko is the performing arts programs, it really helps us become better at what we love doing, as a band student it made me feel better about school, music really speaks to me and i cant imagine my life without it, band even felt like a family.Some teachers can make us feel stressful from the amount of work and time they give us but if you guys have a passion for performing arts, this is the school for you, just stick with the right people and youll enjoy ko.

After spending three whole years here, I believe that people do not give K.O the credit it deserves.The staff are absolutely amazing at this school, while the education program actually works for a lot of the students...Between the parties and the performances, everything about this school is phenomenal, and it makes me sad that I have to leave after this...Teachers are reasonable and kind, the area surrounding your students is completely safe... And trust me, no one will want to leave after spending their time here.The arts program, from TV Production, whom posts the daily news on our website, to Technical Theatre, whom works backstage and in the booth during every show... Every performance that goes on at K.O... Every single one of them are run by students!The theatre program is my personal favorite, because recently we just did Mary Poppins Jr.All three theatre programs gained a superior rating on that! Basically all of our programs are getting superior ratings for our performances!Our students have amazing chances to go to amazing places! Like, for festival, choir and Orchestra students got to go to the Ham Hall in UNLV! Also, a bunch of students in encore programs actually got to go to New York before, and theyre going again next year!I definitely recommend this school for any newcomers, because being at K.O is an amazing experience! I swear, I cried so much during the past week, I dont want to leave!

I go to school here they help you a lot and they are supportive on anything, good education, many programs or electives, and many awards from their programs

This school is overall great! But I have to some of the teachers can tend to talk too much and other teachers act like we know everything. The electives on the other hand are really fun. At the school we have Choir,Dance,Art,Band,Mariachi,Intro to Drama,and etc. Also P.E is very fun. If you get Coach King, she is very fun. Also if you get Peck,Bueler, or Placeres, they are very strict, trick is just don’t talk too much.

This school is a good school. As a 7th grader I can say that the programs are great especially the electives.

Me and my friends were walk waiting for are bus and so kid was climbing a tree and the dean scream at us for "climbing a tree" and we didnt even do

This school is ok the work is very hard the rules are strict like you can only be tardy 3 times then deans detention I can’t alway control when I get here. If you get ms.odom (8thas a teacher I’m sorry for u. She spends half the time talking then says she gave u time. Plus she makes th work way to difficult for simple work bad teacher

Today I went to the open house and I thought all of the programs were amazing. I was in awestruck from the ballet folktaire (I think that’s what it’s calledand I went into the choir room and the songs I heard from the students were awesome! I’m in 5th grade and I would love to get into K.O because it gives me an opportunity to do what I love, dancing and theatre, possibly musical theatre. What I love about having performing arts and fine arts and that type of stuff in a school is really fabulous because studies show if you have a thing to do with music, the left side of your brain will connect the music part of the world to your education. At school I believe I know a little or a lot more about music and that type of stuff because I’m interested in that stuff. I’ve always performed/singed in front of my family and I have performed as Babette in Beauty and the Beast play at my school (last year). It was awesome! I know I’m getting a little off track of why I think this school is awesome but just so you know, IT IS AMAZING😂😊

As a professional drummer from Seattle, I have drum students from this school. It is very evident they love their teachers and the school.

I may be attending this school next year(2019-2020and i am more than exited, as a exel student i hope it challanges me and makes me feel welcome.

This school is amazing it has good staff members and teachers it also has a magnet program where you can do theater,dance,band,etc.... In conclusion this is a really good middle school and I would recommend your middle schoolers here.

This school is amazing. For those who are saying there are fights and such they barely happen and if they do it’s not at school. I have not experienced being bullied and 99% of my friends have not either. Sometimes students may abuse their use of iPads but what do you expect giving iPads to us middle schoolers? We get bored easily and need something to do so we of course just go ahead and play games on it. In the school currently my two favorite teachers are Mr Keohan and Ms Terry. They’re amazing. Ms Terry is a 7th grade English teacher and she helped one of my friends come out of her shell, now that friend is basically talking to everyone. Mr Keohan is an 8th grade physical science teacher who if you do your work will give you free time and some snacks. Once you do the work in his class you can basically get out a speaker and blast music in class. KO is really preparing me for high school. Some of my friends who don’t go to KO complain about how school starts too early in the morning but in here we’re used to it. We’re used to the way how some schools may run on a “A” “B” bell schedule due to on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s we have those. If your child wants to go here I recommend that they do so and try to join some clubs too.

I love this place I went here in 6th grade and it was the best year I was looking forward to 7th grade but my mom moved me schools the current school Im in sucks I honestly wish I could come back to k.o. But so far K.o is a great place.

This is the best middle school ever. I have learned so much and the teachers are so nice. This is a great school.

okay i use to go to k.o ima tell yall its not the best school but its good there some friendly people there some teachers that are are mean etc etc etc but all yall gotta do is just do your work and stay away from the drama and just have fun

I use to go to K.O middle school and let me tell you its not the BEST school ever but its not the worst ethiertin fact I really recommend it to you the 6th grade teachers there are so helpful and nice plus they really tech you in ways you wont forgot!

I really wish I would have applied for a better school. I am currently in 8th grade and have been here for 3 years. So far, this is my best year, and its not the best it could be. Im sorry but I need to call out some of my teachers. Mr. Keohan (my science teacheris very rude to his students, especially if they are black or mexican. Mrs. Chin (Ms. Bordendoes not teach well at all. Ive had her for 2 years and to be honest, I cheated on all of the math test because I didnt learn anything with her. The female dean is too over powering and tries to point out every single thing wrong with you. She doesnt like gays, she doesnt like most races and she will send you to the deans office for literally anything. The only good teachers in my opinion are Mr. Passer LeMaster (world geoand Mr. Jackson (band)

My daughter goes to school here. If I have to go in for any reason almost everyone is very nice/helpful. Especially the councilors and the nurse staff. Front desk can use a little help. Because if shes busy talking to someone almost no one else in the office will see if they can help the next person. So you end up waiting. I dont mind waiting so much, but when there are like 6 other people in the office and they can see your waiting to be helped and they just sit there and ignore you, its a bit frustrating. The teachers so far have been pretty good. They try to keep you updated on how your child is doing, what assignments they may be missing etc.. Overall I think its a pretty good school

The school is fine though some of the teachers are mean and dont do there work. For instance a 8th grade English teacher never does her grades she either fails or gives her kids an A. She also teaches her kids nothing. Almost all of my 6th grade teacher got fired or left. I have gotten yelled at because I was socializing with my friend at lunch by the female dean saying we needed to eat and stop talking to each other when we had finished 90% of our lunch. I love this school dont get me wrong but some of the teachers and staff are mean and stupid.

this school is good they do have uniforms and ipads though and most teachers teach good also the students are nice and there isint even that much frights theres only been 2 this yes that i know about but overall this school is not that bad

I went there my 6th grade year and I couldnt have asked for a better first experience in middle school. I cried when I left. I loved all there programs especially there art program. Teachers were nice, but the only thing I didnt like were the uniforms but at least I didnt have to rush and look for clothes in the morning.

hate this school, the female 8th grade algebra teacher called me retarded, and i got pulled in for a tardy lock out for zero period and it was 6:59, bunch of shady crap going on in this school. also the dance program SUCKS do NOT GO HERE FOR DANCE!!!!!!!! i dont know if i can express that enough!!!!!!! but i made some really good friends who all have the same opinions as me :)

This is a terrible school. My sister went to this school and there are so many bad influences there. My other sister was also going to register there for the magnet program and the office messed up her registration and wouldnt give her a spot even though it was their mistake?

People are saying theres a lot of fights here, but there really isnt. This school year we have only had like 3 fights, we have iPads which I think is a great way to help us students, the only problem I do have is the school uniform, I think there shouldnt be one because we should be able to express ourselves, it is a creative arts school...right?

Not a great school, when it comes to rating schools, this is at the bottom of the charts. Too many fights.

The school that disillusioned me and poisoned the rest of my public school experience!A thorough and complete letdown. I attended for one year from 2005-6 after attending Gilbert Elementary (a fellow magnet school and an absolutely incredible place. Gilbert was [and likely remains] the gold standard for public schools in Vegas.The entire staff was convinced the school would be gang-run by 2008 - kids from juvenile hall were apparently bused into the school regularly. My English teacher advised me to get out while I still could, like I had a chance to escape a cult or something.The disciplinary staff were comically inept: I had my wallet stolen three times with no action even attempted on my behalf, but was suspended for one week for purposely annoying a kid by burping into his ear during an assembly. While I awaited my appointment in the counselors office, a pregnant girl was viciously bullied by an older student directly in front of the receptionist - absolutely nothing happened. Not even a verbal warning. Nothing at all. The girl cried.I was bullied constantly during my time at the school and the only time anyone took any disciplinary action was when I finally decided to fight back. I was heavily reprimanded for ineffectually flailing a shopping bag with my gym clothes in it at a kid whod been mocking me for months. The staff were very distanced from the students.There was always a surprisingly large amount of free food in the front office explicitly for the faculty - students were forbidden to even look at it too hard - and it mostly went uneaten. Keep in mind, the school is in a rough part of town. There were undoubtedly many kids who would gladly have eaten that food because they didnt get enough at home. There was absolutely no excuse for the beyond subpar educational experience I had at this school.Judging by the more recent reviews, it seems the school has turned their act around quite a bit. I deeply hope this is true, it would be absolutely wonderful to hear. But I will never forgive this school for being the major contributor to my being totally disillusioned with public education as a whole until I graduated high school. I was an honor roll, straight-A student before I went here and after, I was lucky if I managed to scrape past with a B average. Absolutely inexcusable. I hope for the sake of everyone who comes through this school in the future that the administration and policies were completely gutted and replaced with something that actually works.

Ive still earned staight As, so as an award for being a straight A student all year long, I earned the golden presidential award signed by Mr. Obama! I love and miss this school. I had the best experience of all school years! The environment is the best. I learned easily cause my teachers gave me the attention needed to understand the material given.
