Had a great breakfast there.
So housewarmings are usually good time, ours was a spooktacular blast! The thing that comes from great nights? Better mornings and brekkies with loved ones. Went here with my sister to get breakfast after a night of laughing, drinking, and scaring. If you ever imagined what living in a small local town like twin peaks, stars hollow, or even the Alaskan town of Cicely (if you get that reference you get gold starsthis is where you come. Even short staffed my sister and I had such a great experience (if you tip anything less than 15% to the waitstaff; we’re not friendsfrom the attentive refilling of our coffee to the DELICIOUS food (my sister got the Oreo pancakes and I got a healthy serving of corned beef hash & eggs (poached of coursewe were able to have conversation without being frequently interrupted and still felt cared for and not like we were looking to flag someone down. Everyone was so kind and polite we have nothing but great things to say about our whole experience and look forward to our next breakfast together.
Great local breakfast place that is a long standing staple of the community.
Great breakfast. Nice little cafe.
Excellant service and the Omlett was delicious. The big Boss was the Chief this past Sunday & the Hash Browns were a too crispy. Otherwise a great experience.
Hidden gem, the restaurant is clean, inviting, efficient, well staffed and the food was perfect. Everything you would expect from a family friendly establishment. . Ruthie was most helpful and answered all our questions. Will return again
Had an awesome time here as a late night/ early next day stop
Great coffee, food and service.
A great greasy spoon, Koffee Kup has excellent service and delicious breakfast staples. The staff is attentive and gets to know their customer base. The restaurant is clean, there is plenty of parking (there is a lot behind the building), and the atmosphere is exactly what you want in a local diner.
Nice local spot for breakfast. We had fast service. Mens bathroom was small. Food menu expansive
Just like others day... always awesome to eat there, nice peoples and nice neighborhood 👍
We had a late breakfast today. We had several people wait on us but it just seemed like no one knew what the other person did or took care of.Im sure it was just an off day.We will go back we like the food and more than not the service and staff are always on their game, just not today.
My friend and I enjoy sitting there for a couple hours just hanging out and they never say anything, thank you
The interior rehab is nice and fresh. Service was prompt and friendly. Pretty expensive for my breakfast though....$18.17 for an omlette, coffee and a cranberry juice. Plus tip!
Great food, service. We ate by the sidewalk and the service was still on point. Enjoyed the omelette in a croissant. My friend who lives nearby said its a favorite of locals. Totally understand why.
A staple of the downtown Lake Zurich. Fantastic, quick service. Standard breakfast diner fare, with some great lunch options as well. We surprised our son with some of his friends for his birthday. The staff was amazingly helpful, and even coordinated his friends coming in the back way, and also brought out a big slice of cake and a candle to celebrate. A must stop while in town.
Great little breakfast spot with fast and friendly service.
A hidden gem in Lake Zurich, it doesnt look like much on the outside but its great on the inside. Has outdoor tables with umbrellas, very friendly staff and great food you cant go wrong going here...
Fluffy pancakes, crispy bacon, and good coffee (with continous refills on the coffee). Very nice team. Outdoor seating.
The place was very clean and well taken care of. Just look at the tips of the ketchup bottle! That takes loving care and dedication. The coffee is good and food is fresh. Just look at the berries! They came to refill our coffee Just at the right time. Its not commercial like so many breakfast places. None of that "was frozen too long" smell from the meats. Its not like a Michelin star but it is just right.
Weve been here for Sunday breakfast twice in 2 weeks with our young grand kids. The food, service and atmosphere were wonderful both times. Great find!
Great place for breakfast. Will definitely come back.Thank you
Love the coffee cup. The staff is wonderful the service is always fabulous and the food is great
Shocked, had been going here for last 4 years. Last week I was shocked and disappointed. There seems to be a new waitress at this location or someone that we had never serve us. Started as soon we entered the establishment she glanced over at us, never greeted us (as we have come to expectwe stood their 10-15 minutes. Never informs us be right their etc. 10-15 more minutes went buy until finally my wife got her attention and asked could sit at the bar. To which the we received no response. Stood their for 2-3 minutes longer another couple arrived and were promptly seated. When asked about being seated she gave us attitude like we were inconveniencing her by being their. We turned around and walked out. Sucks because we live down the street!
Consistently great diner that is our go-to location for breakfast. The same owner and friendly servers have been there forever and they truly make you feel like you’re part of the family
Weve been here for Sunday breakfast twice in 2 weeks with our young grandkids. The food, service and atmosphere were wonderful both times. Great find!
Rip off QuicheIt comes with 1 Egg Per Slice and Garbage Cream for $14.50 with a Sugary Mess of BreadPrevious Owners of this Restaurant were Way Better.
This place has the BEST corned beef hash Ive ever had. My daughter and I have made it a ritual to come here every other week and get the corned beef hash.
An independently owned “American” diner that hearkens back to simpler times. Where the coffee is strong, the breakfasts are made to order and every customer is named “Hon”.
Really good food at really good prices! Its a hidden gem in downtown Lake Zurich. I have been drive thru downtown Lake Zurich for years but never saw the koffee kup until I saw it on Google! Super happy to find it since theres not much good for breakfast in the area . We ordered 7 orders to go and everything was spot on. Like I said we will be back soon. I suggest the suzie . Scrambled eggs with onions green peppers your choice of meat it comes with hash browns and toast. One of the guys added a 6oz steak that was also very good . We are always looking for some good breakfast choices in this area I wish there were more but this is a good one!
came here when another place was closed, thank god we did! Food was SO good! service was quick and atmosphere was pleasant, will definitely return.
The waitstaff here was very kind and helpful with different things on the menu. The service was quick and we got everything we ordered. The food here however was just okay. The hash browns were a bit cold and for the most part flavorless. The other food we had was good however. I would give the biscuits and gravy a try here for sure. The coffee here is very good too!
Nice little home town style place! Service was terrific, prices were good, and the food was good as well! I will definitely be back!
Very nice mainstay of the community. Seemed like staff and regulars were very friendly to each other. Our waitress was super cute while we ordered. Helping us decide what to have. They have seating on the sidewalk in front, and more in the back to get your social distance on. Masks necessary on entering dining area. All staff was covered. Hand sanitizer on all tables. Made us feel safe in this new normal.
Super cute cozy local diner style breakfast place. Loved the atmosphere and the server. Felt like everyone knew each other. Very nice experience.
First time there. Very busy on Mothers day but felt like a comfortable local spot where you could wander in to have a meal and catch up with friends and neighbors. Staff was hustling and still friendly, food OK in spite of the crowd but out of the item I ordered. So 4 stars instead of a 4 1/2.
Party of six (two being under 20 months old). Was seated right away and along with drink orders taken. Once the beverage were brought our orders were taken. Received our food in 10 minutes. The establishment was 2/3 full. Coffee was continually brought and plates cleared as they were finished. I reccommend this place to anyone wanting a filling meal at a decent price.
I loved this place. The coffee is delicious and the food was on point. I highly recommend it if youre not in a hurry and just want to relax and enjoy a conversation with friends or family.
Wonderful diner. So many options on the menu for breakfast and lunch, had a hard time deciding. Both my husband and I got breakfast sandwiches and they were delicious. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Plenty of socially distanced seating options out front, inside, and in the outdoor seating area in the back. Happy we stopped by. Will definitely go back.
My favorite local restaurant for breakfast - for over 10 years now. I’ve never been disappointed with their menu and all good food - well prepared. Coffee is really good too. Highly recommended if you’re coming through town or are local and haven’t been there yet.
First time stopping here from out of town. Everyone was very friendly. They kept the coffee filled and were attentive to the guests. Ordered breakfast and everything was cooked perfectly. The homemade iced raisin breadwas delicious, toasted with butter.
Really good coffee. My group had pancakes, french toast, eggs, bacon corned beef hash and all was really good. My only negative was the hash browns were a bit mushy/under cooked. Im sure they would have cooked them more if asked.
A good little diner. They actually had great coffee compared to other diners Ive been to. I definitely felt like an outsider, not being from the area. The biscuits and gravy were good and the staff was very nice.
A very old fashioned all American classic diner. The menu here is very small. Basically eggs, pancakes, bacon, ham, sausage, toast, hash browns, some other small sides, and some sandwiches. Its kind of pricey for what you get (quality and quantity wisethough the food taste decent otherwise.Interior atmosphere is acceptable. It was remodeled not too long ago and its always clean. It can feel crowded when its busy on the weekends or a holiday. Parking always feels cramped but there are other lots you can use nearby.4/5
Hole in the wall, small town, diner. Inexpensive and good food. We go for breakfast and get a great value. Good service (although once in a while they get busy and with just one waitress, it can be slow. That is rare.). We especially like the fruit you can sub for potatoes. They manage to always have decent fruit!
Koffee Kup Restaurant is a classic diner with good food and bottomless coffee. Although there were a number of tables, I sat at a counter with a built in revolving stool. The staff is very friendly and had worked there for a number of years. There are a number of regulars. This is a great place to stop in and grab a good meal - nothing too fancy. I enjoyed the pancakes and would come back here again, if Im in the area.
Great local weekend breakfast/brunch spot. Service is friendly and fast. Its nice they have card readers so they can process your payment right at the table. Coffee was ok, was hoping itd be a bit better since name of restaurant involves it. Plenty of parking is available in a lot behind the restaurant if no street parking is available
Excellent food we had breakfast and everything was done perfectly. Waitress was one of the best Ive encountered if you wanted something she rearranged the menu to accommodate you. Prices were ok could have been slightly lower. Almost forgot the bacon was perfect. I like it crispy without being burnt and not soggy. I cannot even do it as good as it was done here.
We have been to this coffee shop quite a few times and my family and I always feel like we are being welcomed home. The service is quick, efficient and high tech and the food comes out rocket fast. The coffee is hot and the food is delicious. It may be a few miles from home, but this is our new go-to place.
This is really the only "downtown" Lake Zurich spot to grab breakfast and brunch. There are other chains nearby like Starbucks or Walker Bros, but if you want a small business local place, this is it. That said, on the weekends it gets busy. Its a small restaurant so I couldnt imagine a large group of more than say, 10 people being accommodated here. The food is ok. The pancakes are very dense and sponge-y. The hash browns are typically burnt on top. I ordered a tuna melt and the tuna salad is definitely premade, and wasnt toasted all the way through. When we ordered our food came out in less than five minutes, which is convenient, but is it a good thing when going to a sit down restaurant knowing a lot of the food must have been premade? I dont know, its nice to support small businesses and its a cute spot but I dont go there expecting to be blown away.
