Definitely my favourite national park in Sydney. Really nice picnic areas, however, be aware for kokaburras and other food stealing birds.

Amazing! This is by far the best place to stay in Sydney - work or play! 40 min on the Metro to the city, a brilliant natural park and clean, awesome facilities. Skip the AirBNB, the hotel or motel, get a tent and come camping. Fridge space in the kitchens, microwave oven, kettle, toaster and gas cookers already laid on. Spotless bathrooms and hot showers. Picture below taken from my tent entrance while i had coffee in the morning. UPDATE. I tried a cabin and it was like an executive suite at a top hotel. Brilliant!

Sydney has an abundance of these small to large "National Parks" all with the potential for "Fly In " wildlife of the most exotic kinds, be aware of possibility of dangerous snakes and spiders and stick to trails and wear appropriate footwear.

Everything was good, the cabin was a nice fit. Shower was awesome and spacious.Everything was good apart from not having enough toilet paper to last 4 people for 3 nights and the jug was disgusting, rusty inside and smelt bad.Loved the different types of birds that visited every morning. Just regret not having enough time to have a swim in the pool.Still would recommend this place, but you’d probably need to ask for enough toilet paper or take your own. We used the little pot to boil water for coffee.

Fantastic place for a short/ling hike. There is only one way in and one way out and most of the hikes are right next to the main road. Pros: you will never be lost, or you will have to try very very hard like spin around 10 times and hop on the wrong foot. Cons: not the most exciting place to go for a hike... It is not a mountain, but just a bushland/ shurbland

Nice national park nicely hidden away in the Sydney suburbs. Perfect place to relax with the kids and families. Plently of BBQ areas and tables and also toilets. There is a small cafe just near the entrance which has an assortment of food and coffee. A great place to go for a run, bike ride or just going for a walk. Be aware as this place can be quite popular especially on the weekends, it pays to arrive early.

Decent park in the middle of hustle of the city life.Plenty parking spaces and decently clean public spots to sit and relax. $8 entry fee. The lanes are quite tight as in any national park.

Best place to be. Its quite and safe. I had Wonderful experience crossing rivers and sigh seeing. Its too cold now and water flow is low on kikiyaki waterfall. Better go during rainy season or after that to see waterfall but else is Wonderful throughout the year. Take a break and feel the nature. The hiking trail is well managed and systematic, i suggest dont try to breach the direction otherwise you will not be anywhere on time.

Always a pleasure to visit. Water dragons everywhere. Very happy to see signs of refurbishment. Too much money is lost with the park payment system. We need our national parks. Please pay when you park.

If you avoid peak times youll see the wildlife; the water dragon and the birds. Some nice shelters, BBQ and a kids play area, but not all together. Kiosk for snacks, and educational stuff for kids

Cabin we stayed in was delightful and Clean. Park seems to be located under flight path. Didnt notice the noice after the first day! Seems planes only go over on certain days. Was still a peaceful stay and will definitely be back there again. Close to the sights of Harbour Bridge and Opera house and other major attractions. Definitely a good base to visit the sights

Lane Cove is a lovely national Park, one of the rare ones within city with lots of parking space, so many walks, a river to walk along, so many birds and trees( lot of variety), nice Cafe for coffee or a lunch break, no need to worry about toilet breaks and ample place for kids to enjoy too. Suitable for all age groups as walks are easy to moderate and accessible easily from parking. Would definitely go back again.

We loved our day spent in Lane Cove National Park. The parking was $8 for the day. A great price if you stay for a few hours. There are so many places to enjoy a lot of what the park has to offer. There are lizards, lots birds, echidnas, boats for hire, a lot of picnic areas, plenty of parking, ammenities, beautiful scenery and more. We loved our time here. It was amazing. We will definitely be back. On our way out we walked to DeBurgh Bridge and it gave a beautiful view from above back into the park.

Sunny days bring out the wildlife basking along the riverside path. Ducks rest on the banks and slide into the water when you pass. You can hear cars at a distance along Delhi road, but not too much.Good place for work or family barbecues. You can book spaces in the park for groups. Some are covered. Cyclists zoom along the road especially on weekends so watch out for them if you are walking. The boat house rents rowboats canoes and oversize swan paddleboats. Life jackets supplied. Kids love to have a go at rowing even if they dont get very far.Lots of tall trees and bush around to calm down the brain after days inside working.

First time coming to this park and we are loving it! River walk is so enjoyable but one thing we noticed, the water from the river looks so dirty and found some rubbish on the path. I hope people who uses this park will be more responsible. We went for a morning walk after the rain and it feels like we were in the rain forest. We saw wild animals such as water dragon, echidna, and kookaburra. There’s plenty of space for picnic, such a beautiful park in the city.

We entered through Lady Game Drive. Very close to the cafe. Great view. Lots of place to park if you drive deeper into the park near the riverside walk. The boat hire is a little drive or around 10 min from the cafe.

The circut at Bradley reverse and twins creek was great for a 3 hour hike, it had 284m of elevation and the hills can get very steep (also lots of rocks to climbI recommend doing this with hiking shoes because some rocks are mossy for the creek crossing

Very good trekking spot especially for families with young children. There is a boat shed offers boats. You can hire (before 4PMto go around Lane cove river.Plenty of spots to stay and spend a day. You can also reserve places for party , which has covered benches and cured grass areas and close to toilets. Especially for birthday parties and get together. There are many native birds(fauna and floraand information displays to feed to your curiosity. The trekking paths are on both sides of the river and reaches the river banks as well.

Located just off Mona Vale Road but lots of walking access from Thornleigh to Lance Cove this inner city National Park has plenty to offer. Riverside picnic venues, some with gas BBQ, visitors center, cafe, toilet blocks, car parking, bike and MB tracks and plenty of walking tracks. Some of the facilities are aging. The two main walking tracks, the Riverside and Heritage are real walking tracks and today were nice and muddy due to overnight rain.

Even though it was a 30 degree day today we had a great time doing the 10km riverside walk (18000 steps and 2.5 hours later). Great to stop by the cafe for some icecream and cold bottles water too.

Lane Cove National Park is absolutely amazing. Ive been enjoying walking around but this time I have explored such beautiful paths! If you are not local, the easiest way for you is to go to Ladygame and park there. Many spots around. Or you can come by train to chatswood and walk a short distance to catch the path. Signs will guide you.It is a good place for families, kids, friends and all nature lovers.A few toilets are they so dont worry about having a good amount of water. No need to be thirsty 😉You can use your bicycle on certain roads.Very high recommended 😍👍💚

Not too far away from the city and accessible by public transport. Relaxing picnic areas and have decent bbq amenities. The Heritage Walk is family friendly while the Great Northern Walk gets a bit steeper towards the end. You can also find a spring and rock formations along the trail. Recommended for a nature day trip without the hassle of driving far.

It has a few walking tracks. I especially liked the riverside walking track which ends at De Burghs Bridge. There are many picnic spots with BBQ (both electric and wood based). You can hire different kinds of boats here but dont forget to wear the life jacket. The forest and bush walk was so zen and earthly, I felt so peaceful and calm. The entry is free but if you want to park your car, its 8$. Its great for biking, running, walking or strolling.

It’s my last week in Sydney after studying abroad at Macquarie since July and never got around to doing a bush walk so this was the perfect place for me with many amenities such as a cafe, playground, boat rentals, bathrooms, event spaces, and of course and nice trails! Conveniently located (I took the 259 bus to the Delhi Rd stop and then the metro on the way back to Macquarie! It’s definitely recommended to have a plan before you begin as the trails can be lengthy. And thankfully the weather was perfect for a hike with partly cloudy skies and cool temps. I did the Riverside Trail starting near the cafe before turning off at the Halfway Point and walking down a long secluded road that brought me to the camping resort. The Riverside Trail was a pretty moderate trail with a few stairs and narrow areas especially where there were rocks. Saw a BUNCH of water dragons, some bush turkeys, and lots of ducks. This park is so beautiful and also walked past a lot of private parties with some being covered and others not. The cafe is also a good touch and has plenty of options! It was a lovely Sunday afternoon!

Love this park. Nice trails along the river... not crazy busy on Sundays... I have a year Park Pass so I dont pay the $8 entrance. Can find parking easily. Very clean and basically zero litter on the trails which are well maintained. Biggest bonus is its less than 10 mins by car from my apartment!

Enjoyed the walking trails, we started from the Macquarie Park end of the park and took the 5km river trail down to the Lane Cove Weir. The Macquarie Park section is much quieter and more peaceful, as you get close to the weir there are far more families and tourists. The walk is fairly easy going, anyone with average fitness will find it enjoyable, and theres plenty of little spots to stop along the way.

The Lane Cove National Park is a jewel within Sydneys lower North Shore. Part of the Great North Walk parts of this park feel miles away from being in a busy city. An amazing array of flora, birds, lizards and other wildlife right along this well maintained National Park. Lots of entry points into the National Park from Lane Cove, Killara & Macquarie Park. The paths, facilities and BBQ areas all very well maintained. The walk is for easy - medium experienced walkers. So parts of the walk are a little steep so would not advise small children or people who have walking difficulties to have support with them at all times.

I went to fairy land track at The lane cove national park. It was absolutely amazing. The pictures I took dont come close to show the real beauty of the park. The walk isnt too long either. Probably only took 10 minutes from one end to the other. This would be great to have a picnic by the river too.
