Very cold and off-putting congregation. Felt like an outsider. Did not have a good worship experience, I believe we have two opposite understandings of what Christianity is. I was missing Christs teachings being put into action here.

This American Baptist Church loves to teach about God to every age there is. From the kindness of the Nursery Workers, the Team Kids, the Youth Ministry, midweek Family night of Bible Study with optional, casual supper, to camps, donations & help to the Ministry Center of Maryville, Mo.. & of course, The music Choir of children & adults. This Church expanded & if you ever attended the last day of Vacation Bible School (clear back in the 1970swhen parents & Grandparents would join to see our traditional VBS choir, you would know some of them had standing room only behind the last pews. The expansion was needed that far back. They have a wonderful Church. They baptize by immersion as all Baptist Churches do & they love Christ Jesus, learning a long time ago to teach about Christs love of both Jew & Non Jew . Whatsoever you do unto man, you do also to God. ( be kind, put Christs teachings about God into action in your heart, mind, & doings).

The preaching is solid, the pastor is humble and awesome, and the church is far from squishy. Its big, but its definitely not a megachurch. I went there for 30 years. Pastor Paul taught my family, then presided over my dad and my sisters funerals. Nobody could have honored them any better. This is a great church for your entire family.
