I had a frustrating experience with Liberty Mutual (owns Comparion nowthat went on way too long. Ive had two agents completely ghost me after signing. I learned now that Support needs to help with any questions or logistics after you signed but no one communicated that to me so I was left with weeks of no answers.We moved from MA to RI and started with an online quote when a random representative from TX helped quote our home & auto policy. She was very nice. But once that was solidified I never heard back regarding: transferring our auto policy once we registered our cars. Randomly, Sandra Scavello from an RI branch reached out to me to sell me life insurance or something similar. At that point, I was just relieved to hear from a human being and asked her to help us with transferring our auto policy. Again, super nice and reassuring. However, after a couple of emails, I felt the communication start to diminish... It was a couple of weeks before we could get into the DMV to register our vehicles. So, during that time we were holding RI & MA insurance policies (you need an RI one to get registered, so there is overlap). Ill spare any more details but essentially our insurance went up $100 after switching and we carried two insurances for 3 weeks too long (charging us for both- they should have canceled once we registered in RI. I heard no answer regarding a refund or why it increased. In the end, it would be nice to have clarity on the process and reasoning behind price increases.Were de-bundling our auto & home to go with another carrier for auto since RI is so high. If she had answered my emails and phone calls to help get our insurance down they may have kept me as a customer. Well stay with them for our home policy for the year but will eventually change.Ive since called Support to work on a refund back-dating when we registered in RI. But overall, not a clear process. I recommend working with local insurance brokers who value good customer experiences just as much as the sale.
Do not recommend. Quoted me $1,500 higher than competitor auto policies. Do your due diligence and save yourself a lot of money!

Horrible insurance company! Im a contractor doing work on a single older womans home. The customer saved for over a year to have some exterior work done on her home. During the process, after removing the siding of the home. We found severe water and termite damage hidden in the walls but not visible inside or outside of the home. The damage was on structural framing . I suggested that the owners call her insurance company because the damage was structural and needs immediate attention. Liberty mutual told her that the damage was not covered because its more than 14 days old. Its hidden in the walls!of course its more than 14 days old! I called on her behalf and pointed out the termite damage, was told thats not covered either! I asked if any of this was explained to her before taking her money? Was told if she asked it would have been.. but they would be happy to explain it now! After taking her money for years and denying her first claim! So apparently liberty mutual only covers your home if a maple tree falls on your house, on a sunny day, on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, if the months name ends in a vowel! Horrible! Shame on liberty mutual and your CEO! I will continue to tell this story to ever customer I have in Rhode island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. I will also post on every platform available. Liberty Mutual is horrible and untrustworthy! Taking advantage of the elderly! SHAME ON YOU!
I had been a Liberty Mutual Auto Insurance Customer since 2003. This year when I received my renewal, I hit the roof! The premium for my 13 year old car without collusion insurance was over $200 a month! I shouldnt have been surprised because for some reason every year as my car gets older, my insurance premium has increased and I havent had an accident or filed a claim with Liberty Mutual in well over 10 years. I had called them several times to see if there were ways we could decrease my premium. On my last call I was told I had the state minimum liability and all of my additional options had been exhausted. I shopped around for another insurance Carrier, and once I got in touch with the Geico, not only was my SIX month premium only $40 more than my MONTHLY premium with Liberty Mutual, the representative also told me that I had coverages well over the state minimum requirements and asked if I wanted to reduce any of them. Its disappointing that Liberty Mutual couldnt be honest when I had contacted them about lowering my premium. I had been their customer for almost 20 years. You would think they would want to reward loyalty and retain their customers rather than charge FOUR TIMES more for premiums than their competitors. Call around before committing and scour your documents to ensure that youre not being charged for additional coverage that you neither need nor agree to.After reading the other reviews, a couple more things:When I bought my house, I got homeowners insurance through Liberty Mutual. Two weeks after the policy started, I received an email informing me that my insurance was being canceled because the property wasnt considered to be owner occupied. Nobody ever knocked on my door or called to see if I was living there. If they came by at night and saw no car in the driveway or lights on its because I work nights. Im not sure how they arrived at this determination. It was eventually resolved, but it was completely erroneous and unnecessary in the first place.Last year, I was involved in a head-on collision. It was determined to be the other drivers fault, but I called Liberty Mutual to report the accident. Because the other drivers insurance company was responsible, Liberty Mutual left me in the lurch to deal with that other insurance company by myself. Im not sure exactly what I was paying for for all these years.
Jennifer Bergeron is absolutely amazing to work with. I am recently engaged and Jen made it super easy for me to get insurance for my ring. She was able to cover the entire cost of the ring at an extremely low monthly/yearly fee! I could not be happier and would work with Jen again in a heart beat!

Terrible insurance company. They cancelled my homeowner policy claiming that the house was not occupied and refused to budge despite documentation showing that this was incorrect. Then they had the audacity to charge me a higher fee because my policy didnt go on a full year. Complete racket, STAY AWAY

Ive been with pretty much every insurance company and feel that liberty mutual is hands down the best outta all of them best prices and products and customer service is second to none I will be with them till I no longer need insurance lol give them a shot u will be surprised everybody ask me how come my policy is so cheap I have 6 cars some full coverage and i pay less then a friend of mine with 2 cars 💪😎 keep up the great work liberty mutual Im definitely hear for life

Ive never been more upset with an insurance experience as I am right now. I called months ago and informed Liberty that I was moving states and Insurance companies. I was never advised that I needed to cancel my plates or the insurance would continue to run. Now, months in, I have been doubled billed for insurance. This is completely unacceptable. I dont have money to throw away like this. I was just on the phone with a man trying to resolve the issues and cancel the plate and he asked me to hurry up because he had other people on his call que. After so so many years of using and recommending this company, I will never speak highly of it again and advise those I know to look elsewhere for their coverage.
We just signed up with Liberty Mutual and our agent was phenomenal. Our previous insurance company gave us a hard time about cancelling with them. Our Liberty Mutual agent handled that for us. Their rates for us on home and auto are better than our previous company for the exact same coverage. Since were new to the company, I will try to repost if anything changes.

They raise there prices every year they settle claims and dont even let you know how they ruled they basically just say yes to who ever makes a claim they dont care cuz they raise your rates. Seriouse no no your supposed tio fight for me
This company is horrible,my wife was hit by one of their clients,and now its a run around,waiting a week and a half now,just for them to figure out the value of her car,which is totalled,because they have to figure out all the damage to the other 3 cars involved.

Do NOT get insurance from this company!!! Go ANYWHERE but here! We were paying 1135 dollars a month for insurance due to a mistake with Lexis Nexus and were signed up for auto-pay with Liberty Mutual. So one month the account was short by $71 due to an overcharge on another bill. Spoke with customer service at Liberty Mutual and was told it was no big deal, that we could pay it the following week. Long story short, they cancelled our policy with no warning and when we found out they wanted us to pay the $71 and the remaining balance for the YEAR!! Close to $8000! Now Im insured with HIROAD and my bill each month is around $450 per month. They actually decrease my bill depending upon how I drive each month!!!!
I have had Larry Labadie as an agent for longer than I can remember. He is always there for me. Every single time I call he either picks up right away or calls me back within five minutes and takes the time to answer all my questions. I have been approached by countless other insurance companies over the year but I always turned them down because I love knowing I have Larry. High recommended for car, home, pet, and life insurance!
