Switched to this group after some not so great care/service by our former vet. Best decision I have made for my fur-buddy! The entire staff treated him like he was their own. He even acted better than he ever has for his annual visit. SO happy we made the switch. Thank you!

I’ve never met such an amazing group of people. My cat Mili endured so many hardships and ended up passing recently after being diagnosed with cancer. To each and every single person who helped care for Mili, I just want to say thank you! Dr. Delaney especially holds a special place in my heart for how well she treated and cared for her. The higher prices here are worth the quality of care we received. I cannot recommend this place or Dr. Delaney more for how wonderful they’ve been. I will be calling and transferring over my other two kitties when the time is right!

I have been a customer for at least 5 years and they couldnt find my account. They make it difficult to refill pet food. They are twice as expensive as other area vet offices.

They always treat my baby girl like the princess she is. We can always count on Dr D. when they need to put our dog under for dental work, etc.

Switching vets and finding quality health care is a huge undertaking for those of us who realize pets are more than pets, they’re family! Dolly was welcomed into the clinic as part of their family! The time spent on both visits was awesome, making us feel like she was #1. We left with well explained instructions for her best care! Everyone there obviously loves what they do and are very professional.

If I could give a 0 I would. Arrived at my scheduled time then followed the directions. A text was sent through their system 5 minutes after my appointment time. Got a call 10 minutes later saying we could not be seen. Had to find daycare for my kids since it is only 1 owner per pet. Extremely disappointed in their inability to be flexible.Update: I decided to wait for the manager and thankfully she was able to get me in. I guess their qr code scanner was not working quickly as it should. If you arrive, call their phone number instead.A huge thank you to the manager Jessica, vet tech Brianna, and Dr. McGonagale. They were able to get my Daisy in today as it is extremely difficult to only have 1 pet parent in when you have children. I truly appreciate them understanding and making the time to see us today.Still took off 1 star as the first person stated that I had to reschedule when it was the error on their end. If I would have shown up at 12:10 for an 11:50 appointment, I completely understand that I would have to reschedule. When one shows up at 11:50 for an 11:50 appointment, I am glad that the manager was able to make it right.

Took my dog into EAH multiple times because he was limping on his back leg and in a lot of pain for months, sometimes not even using the leg. After multiple examinations and an x-ray where they insisted he had to be put to sleep in order for them to take it (he is not particularly fond of the vet), I was told they couldn’t see anything wrong with the leg, and they suggested acupuncture as a treatment. Frustrated after spending hundreds of dollars and seeing my dog suffer for months with no answers, I decided to go elsewhere to receive a second opinion where it was confirmed that he had a torn CCL in 1 minute of examination, and where they were able to take an x-ray of my dogs leg within a few minutes and without using anesthesia. When he had surgery at the other facility that diagnosed him with a torn CCL, the doctor confirmed he had a large amount of scar tissue indicating this had been a chronic issue. Very frustrated with the fact that a miss in the vets diagnosis at EAH cost me hundreds of unnecessary dollars, and caused my dog to unnecessarily suffer in pain for months.

Great Clinic, we take our kittens there for regular care and they are always very informative and provide recommendations to help take better care of our furry friends! Im not an expert on pricing for the area but I feel that the cost of service is very fair.

We have gone to Edgewood Animal Hospital many times in the past for our dogs GI issues. Currently, our dog is experiencing a GI flare. He has a medication that has worked wonders for him in the past. Edgewood refused to refill his prescription without an office visit. The staff told us that office visits were not available until next week. I offered various suggestions and advocated for my dog. The staff would not help us and did not offer any sort of empathy or apology. We have been loyal customers of Edgewood Animal Hospital, but will not be returning. We are very upset at the lack of care our dog is receiving at this time. We are transferring care immediately.

Took advantage of their $25 first exam on my 4 yr old husky and it took them longer to come get her from the car then it took to give her the exam. The vet came outside after about 5 mins and said "well we shoved her head into the bowl of water but she wouldnt drink, we tried and tried but she just wouldnt drink. So she looks healthy though. I wouldnt worry about her coughing, she does have some staining to her teeth though. Maybe try putting her water bowl up higher" and to get her shots itll be about $215. Its NOT normal for any dog to excessively cough after drinking water.

If I could give zero stars I would! Very unprofessional! They miss diagnosed my pup and will not take responsibility. I have gone to this clinic for two years and I’m SO disappointed in how they communicate to their clients. The office staff was rude when I called for further explanation of care and options for further testing. If you want someone you can trust and will listen to your concerns DO NOT bring your fur babies here!

A little over 5 years ago, I got myself a Pug puppy for Xmas and scheduled his first appointment with EAH based on their online reviews and I’ve been bringing my Pug, Jake, here ever since. We continually receive nothing but excellent service and care from Dr. Leo, Dr. Hickey and EAH Staff. Everyone loves Jake even though he yells at all the other dogs. Staff is also prompt over the phone or by voicemail whenever I have a question or concern about Jake. If they’re busy you’ll sometimes be on hold but not for that very long and they’ve been improving their website and pet record access online. I recommend EAH to family and friends.

**Edited down because I had an appointment yesterday for my dog for acupuncture. If I had not called to reschedule, I would have driven an hour for nothing. They informed me Dr. Hickey was no longer there and suggested I call Animal Care Hospital in Cedar Rapids. What were they going to tell me when I got there with my dog after driving an hour?? Very unprofessional way this was handled. I was sad because I had just recently found her. She was helping my dog so much. Im so glad I called them! I found Dr. Hickey. Shes much more available and closer to me. Dr. Hickey can be found at Animal Care Hospital.My senior dog has been having trouble with her back legs. They are weak and she cant stand for long. Shes also been in pain and Ive been trying with my other vet to help her. They are really busy and dont spend much time with her to try and figure out whats wrong. I had been thinking of acupuncture or hydrotherapy for her. I learned of Dr. Hickey and booked an appointment. Yesterday was her first treatment and I can already tell a difference! Her back feet dont point out like they did and she feels so much better! She even got sassy with me today as I was getting her food. I havent seen that in ages! It makes me feel so good to be able to help my dog that I love so much. Dr. Hickey told me Rose has arthritis in her hips and knees. Something my vet couldnt tell me in two visits and with an x-ray. Just told me she was in pain and gave me a prescription. Dr. Hickey takes the time to get to know your pet and doesnt rush when consulting with you. Im very impressed. Was a great first visit. Even though its an hour drive for me, if youre accepting new patients, I would love to transfer. My dog feeling better and being happy means the world to me.

We recently moved to the area from out of state and our 2 "girls" needed their annual shots. Covid19 prevented some vets from wanting to take on new clients. The staff and Dr.Paul welcomed our 2 rescues and us with open arms. 2 weeks later we found ourselves back needing their support. This time it was a follow-up visit to an emergency weekend visit. Dr Paul worked us into her schedule to address the removal of staples from Roxys paw. And compassionately listened to our story which brought us back so soon. I love ♥ the staff and Drs. at VCA Edgewood Animal Hospital.

Dr. Hankner and the wonderful team at Edgewood Animal Hospital always make my fur babies feel loved and welcome in their office no matter the time of day. They are extremely patient, and they always make sure all of my questions are answered. I highly recommend them to all!

My appointment wasnt long, they rushed the examination. The vet in charge didnt even notice a discharge coming from my dogs nose, which I mentioned when they called me and they said as long its not green or yellow it was fine, the discharge was yellow. I could tell they did not examine my dog properly. The issue is still present, I got a call back and they hung up on me when I told them about the drainage coming from my dogs nose.Horrible customer service.

My dog has been going here since she was a puppy seeing Dr. Young. We are on a tight budget and Dr. Young will work with us on keeping the price within our budget.A bonus is my dog LOVES going here. She remembers where they keep the cookies and she remembers the doctors. She is actually excited to go to the vet instead of terrified or unwilling.

We have been using for years for routine vaccinations, etc. We recently took our dog in after he developed a mass on his shoulder. The vet took a cell sample, but was unable to conclude what it was. She thought perhaps an infection. We were given antibiotics and something to help his mobility. After a week, he didnt improve. We took him to another vet for a second opinion and he confirmed it was most likely cancer. I guess, I felt like they didnt spend enough time trying to figure it out and we were misdiagnosed. Our dog is now in a "hospice " phase because of how aggressive the cancer is. This was a negative experience with an overall positive history with this vet.

I have taken my 2 dogs to Edgewood Animal for years. Everyone is kind and gentle with these 2 older dogs. We love Dr. Hanker. She is great! Takes time to explain why tests are needed. Both dogs have issues d/t their age so taking them to Edgewood and Dr. Hankner eases our minds with any new concerns that arise. Theyre the best!!

This is a wonderful vet hospital. I have 2 cats, one is easy to care for and the other is a terrible pain. When I have to bring in the trouble cat everyone at Edgewood knows his history and is prepared to deal with him. At our last visit my cat finally seemed to realize he would not have a difficult time and he behaved in a much calmer and "regular" cat manner. I appreciate the warm and caring demeanor of Dr Erin Meany, who really cares about the health and well-being of both of my cats. Highly recommend. The facility has been recently modernized and the staff are friendly and efficient.

Very friendly and welcoming staff and Vet. Answered all my questions thoroughly, treated my dog very well, and provided lots of information about various types of tick/flea medication, heart worm, and vaccines. Called back to the Vet a few days after our visit and they got back to me in a timely manner. Would recommend!

Ill update this review over time since Ive only been once, but so far I like it. We went there based on reviews after moving to town and having to give up our old vet who we loved, so its a hard bar to clear. The vet seemed friendly and knowledgeable, shed be five stars, but her tech was cold and unfriendly. Ultimately, Im there for medical care for my dogs, but a calming experience when you are already panicking about your pets illness should be a given for an animal hospital.

My little guy was injured in a fight with another dog and got the worse end of it, I called the vet and they said to bring him right in, as soon as I walked in the door they took him to the back and immediately assessed the injury the vet came out and talked to me and told me what she planned to do but wanted me aware of what was going on, I said go for it, and was very pleased with the explanation. Everyone is very nice, enjoy the girls at the desk, they dont mind if you butt into their conservation and have a good laugh with them.Thank you to everyone at Edgewood Animal Hospital

Ive been taking my cats to Edgewood Animal Hospital for 15 years. Most of this time Dr. Taylor has taken care of my cats. Dr. Taylor has gently helped my elderly cats navigate the discomforts of aging, and she has provided advanced first aid to my younger cats injuries. She has broad knowledge and provides solutions for care, diseases, food problems. When weve had an emergent issue and seen one of the other veterinarians, we have been equally pleased. The front desk and reception provide wonderful, friendly service. And appointment times are on schedule. I highly recommend. EAH. (Dorothy Landt)

The staff here are amazing! My dog is so excited to go to the vet and see his friends. I am always greeted with a smile. The providers show compassion and concern for the animals entrusted in their care.

I was in Cedar Rapids visiting my daughter and my 9 month old puppy started having a seizure. We rushed her to Edgewood Animal Hospital, where my daughter takes her dog. The vet and 2 techs came right to the car to get her. We took her in the office and they checked us in quickly and got us back to a room and evaluated Daisy. Dr. Sue Delaney was very knowledgeable. She was very kind with Daisy and told us everything she was doing along the way. Knowing that I was visiting from out of town she gave me detailed records to take back to my vet and said to call her if we needed anything. I would highly recommend Edgewood Animal Hospital to anyone looking for professionals who truly care about the animals in their care.

The staff at EAH are wonderful. I have had emergencies with my pets and they always get them right in. They also make follow up calls to see how your pet is doing a day or 2 later. I had to let my dearest girl Clooney (15 year old Westiego just over a year ago. Dr Delaney and the rest of the staff were so very caring and supportive. I even received a hand written sympathy card a few days later and that meant so much to me. I highly recommend these veterinarians.

Edgewood has been so amazing with all 3 of my pets! I am so thankful for them, we had an emergency with our dog and we were told by a different vet that we were seeing at the time to just call poison control, I called Edgewood Animal Hospital and they told us to come right over and they would squeeze us in! I was so impressed and so very thankful for everything they did for us that day, I switched our 2 cats and dog over to them!Edgewood is AMAZING! Highly recommended!Thanks for everything you do!

I cannot say enough good things about this place! My beagle Toby is not the easiest patient to treat (he gets very anxious at the vet), but Dr. Leo always does an amazing job with him and on the few occasions we havent been able to fit into her schedule, weve always had positive experiences with the other vets. I would highly recommend bringing your pets here!

Dr. Hanker is a great vet. But the owners need to make sure each exam room is cleaned after each client. Some times they are so dirty I dont want to put our animals on the floor our even the exam mat. When you go in and feel you need to clean while in there then that is a problem. And its NOT because they dont charge enough.

I have taken my 2 dogs to EAH for about 7 years now. I have had nothing but good experiences!!! My boxers name they knew before mine at 1 point :Im happy with that personally!! In the last year my dogs have needed some extra visits after their yearly exams. Dr Leo was great with my Boxer that got an eye injury (anyone that owns a boxer knows how they do not sit still)!!! Dr Taylor helped my other mix dog with an infection he got within his jowl. I have had other vets at EAH and all have treated myself and my pets with care. My dogs are family to me and I appreciate seeing them served in caring manner!!!! Thank you!!!!!

Been taking our cat there for about two years now and they are pretty amazing from our experience. Dr. Meaney is always great with our cat and the staff are attentive and willing to answer questions about any products they carry or give suggestions if you are looking for something. Our cat can be not the happiest when she goes there and they are very adept at taking anxious unhappy animals in stride, showing compassion and care to try to ease their anxiety as best as they can.

I love this place!I took my 2 dogs (Yoda & Abbyhere to get their shots up to date. This was our first time going to EAH and we will be going back! This place is friendly and fantastic!Sara was our vet and she was excellent, extremely knowledgable, and very loving to My girls. The Vet assistant was absolutely awesome as well ;-)Thank you ladies for making our visit so comfortable and nice :-)I recently had to give Abby some peace and Dr.Leo was extremely gentle, caring, and comforting. She even sent me a handwritten sympathy card. Thank you Dr.Leo :-It really meant a lot to me :-I hope you know how much you helped me that day.

We scheduled an appointment and were seen promptly. My cat is extremely obedient but is a scaredy-cat/drama queen. Due to this I was worried how she would react with the staff as it was her first ever vet visit. The staff listened to me and treated Octavia exactly how I wanted her to be treated which resulted in an incredible experience.Thank you for your professionalism and respect, I will gladly bring my fur baby hear going forward!Overall a great experience.

My family has had great service from this place for a long time. Theyve been with us through 3 cats and 1 dog. They treat your animal like their own. Dr. Lindsey Leo especially, is a really great doctor.

I have been taking my dogs to Edgewood Animal Hospital for a long time now and every time I go into the vet for an appointment my dogs and I enjoy the staff. The girls up front really do a good job of being professional with what ever the situation may be that I am enduring at the time. I have had to put two of my dogs to sleep because of various reasons and the staff really made me feel like they cared about what I was going through. I have went to several of the Dr.s at this clinic and I have never had a bad experience. The staff has never given me the impression that they are just there for the money. Believe me, I have worked at a vet before and been a vet tech and a vet assistant and I do have to say You definitely dont get paid enough to be doing this type of work just for the money. You have to have a Love for what You do to make it work!

I drive from Iowa City to Cedar Rapids...thats how much I love the Edgewood Staff! They are caring, considerate, and unlike other clinics, they dont give you a hard sell on products & procedures! They also give back to the community, helping a rescue organization I volunteer with & supporting other non-profit groups too!Updated 7/27/17 Twice this year, Edgewood staff have squeezed my dogs in for semi-emergency situations. Even though I made their days more hectic, the staff was super nice and considerate of the fact that I was very worried. It was also nice to go there versus the emergency clinic, where they dont know me or my dogs. We go there for our regular care as well, but its nice to know that they try very hard to help their clients when the unexpected arises.

Ive brought my dogs here for the past 8 years, and have never had any complaints. The staff are courteous and helpful, and genuinely care about the wellbeing of my dogs. The vet techs know how to handle one of my reactive dogs and have worked to build the trust so he will let them hold him.The staff care about my dogs, and will routinely ask how my furry friends are doing, even after the vet visits are complete.

Dr. Karen Taylor has known us for many, many years so she knows what weve been through with several sick animals, both dogs and a cat. Thus, she is also aware of our retired status and fixed income so she very much thinks thoroughly about treatment, not being careless but doing what will help our pets but also how we can save money, Your facility is kept VERY clean and both Doctors and Vet Techs do their jobs extremely well.....also the ones at the front desk are super! Ive been bringing my cat here since he was diagnosed with advanced stage kidney failure on an emergency visit. Dr. Conrad has worked with us for the last 8 months and he is now at mid stage. My cat would not be good health (despite his terminal illnessif it werent for this office and their great staff. He is happy and active now and I have this wonderful place to thank for it. I cant recommend this vet clinic highly enough.

I like that the staff at EAH talks to me first and not my dogs. (Many other clinics only seem to talk to the pets and ignore the person.I like how the people at reception are prepared and knowledgeable. I dont recall hearing "I dont know" or "can you wait while I go get your records". I appreciate that although you are a busy place, I am not hurried on the phone or in person. I like how organized, timely, and how smooth things seem to run. I like that the doctors themselves will call with information. You might have turnover in staff, but unlike other places, it doesnt feel chaotic. I still feel like people know me there. You are worth the 45 minute drive! And your new look and artwork is fantastic!

We love everything about EAH. First, they are much more reasonably priced than the vets in the Iowa City/Coralville area- by far. I also like how they take pets to the back fairly quickly- there are never a lot of animals in the waiting area at the same time. This is helpful since our dog is almost 15 and occasionally doesnt care for young, dominant, male dogs approaching him quickly. I also appreciate the clear waiting room as Im very allergic to cats. All of the staff members who have interacted with our golden retriever/lab mix treat him wonderfully- like they would their own pet. You can tell the staff truly love animals and give them the best care possible.

Im very picky about vet clinics and my dog and I honestly had a great experience here. Ive had my girl for almost 5 years and this is the first place Ive felt good about. They were very honest and open about prices. They seem genuinely concerned about my dogs quality of life. When they gave her shots, both the vet and an assistant came in and sat on the floor with her, to make her feel more secure and to distract her with treats. She got 3 shots and didnt even notice.This is now our permanent clinic.

Since before I was born, my family brought our pets to Edgewood Animal Hospital, and now I bring my own dog there. I have visited other vet clinics and even worked at one for a short period of time but these guys are still my favorite clinic, by far. I always feel like they care about my pet and are not trying to get every penny they can from me. The atmosphere is welcoming and professional.

The entire staff at Edgewood Animal Hospital is extremely friendly and helpful. I had taken my cat, Simba, there for the last few years - and they always treated him like he was their own pet. Recently I had to make the difficult decision to put my furry friend down, and the staff was very compassionate. I even received a card in the mail today from the staff...so thoughtful! I highly recommend Edgewood Animal Hospital - theyll take great care of you and your pet!

I was very pleased with my experience at Edgewood Animal Hospital. The staff was able to get my dog scheduled for her first appointment right away, and was able to schedule my follow up appointments soon after. My dog had laser surgery and is healing wonderfully! I will definitely recommend the clinic to friends!

I was in town for business, traveling with my very pregnant dog. I called on Monday to make an appointment for radiographs and they were able to fit me in on Wednesday. The facility is very clean and nicely laid out, and the staff was great to work with. My Vet Tech was very good with my dog and our Veterinarian was very nice and knowledgeable. I loved the digital radiographs as I was able to email a copy back home to my family to see the puppies!I had a great experience at Edgewood and would definitely return to them if needed.
