BEWARE: A FOLDER WAS DELETED AFTER I DECLINED THEIR OFFER. Story happened earlier this year. Needed to recover a missing folder from my external hard drive urgently, was told id get the quote within 24 hours but waited 3 days. Unfortunately the quote was much higher than my budget so i told the technician politely that I couldnt afford their service at the moment. His tone changed 180° over the phone and told me i had to wait another week to get my hard drive back. When i finally got it back, A 2GB FOLDER which contains a subject of my university work HAS BEEN ERASED, and i had to pay someone else to recover an extra folder that was there.

Reasonable terms compared to other data recovery services, lower price, quick service and all data recovered. Other services quoted high rates for the same delivery timeline and lower rates if work is scheduled later. Free HD to return recovered items was a bonus.

Toba Data is very professional and fair in diagnosing the issue, upon realising there is no important data to be recovered. They are very flexible in cancelling the job and imposing no fee. They gave me very fair quote too. Great work.

Great service and practice advice

Was wanting to recover data from my external hard drive for same day or at least a few days return.Was advised evaluation would take 3 days, after eval, quotation provided. price of base 600 up to 2000 and turn around time of 3 weeks.Doubt the work is done in AustraliaDecided to do more shopping around for devices based in melbourne!Further to my comments after receiving response from Toba. I’ve decided to take a screenshot of my call log to their phone number, to validate I am indeed serious in fixing my hard drive, instead of Toba’s response implying I am not, and they have not got on record, and seriously rude attempt to deflect my review.My original review was matter of fact and not at all in blame language nor did I want to put the person to I spoke to in trouble. He was very frank and answered my queries nicely. Shame their online team could not be as open and frank and elected to research my comments and try and indirectly imply I’m not serious and I only complain.However, upon the response I received from Toba I have decided to add further comments with more details. I did not want to escalate, but Toba’s response has made me quite angry given I have was looking to have my data restored. Which in this day and age should not take 3 weeks.I spoke to Ernie, who advised he was a technician at Toba, and for when I arrived to let the girls at front desk to refer to him.I spoke for 5 mins roughly as I had been to Ondata and Reboot, both which listed their business in melbourne cbd. But do not conduct the servicing on site.A lot of the feedback here is so positive that it feels like paid marketing. This comment here is clearly not paid marketing. I’m an actual potential customer writing what happened.

I thought I had no hope of seeing files on an external hard drive that I had been told was damaged beyond recovery. Toba managed to recover them like some sort of wizardry. It was pricey, but I was prepared to pay as they managed to recover what I had considered lost.

These guys do excellent work, managed to retrieve all my data from my broken laptop and even helped me out by writing emails confirming that I was getting my laptop fixed when I needed to send in late submission forms to my university. Fast, effective, friendly service, and even though I live in the suburbs and there are several mac repair stores closer to where I live I will definitely be going back to Toba for any problems I may have with my devices in the future.

I sent my mobile phone to this company and they said they will contact on the next day. However they did not. When I contacted them on the third day, a very rude and impolite person (maybe an Indianreplied me using discriminatory language, said they cant help me with the phone and ordered me to pick that phone on a certain day, on which I was not available. When I said I cant be there on that day, he replied that I MUST do that as he said. I was really confused about that. Theres no reason for me to do as he wanted. What is more, when I said it was their fault that they did not call me on the day before, he said it was my fault. Thats very ridiculous, what was my fault... Trusting you? Finally, he hung up the phone when I was still talking to him. I wont trust this company again I think...NEVER

Took my portable hard drive here after it crashed and wouldnt allow me to access any of the data. Ernie was extremely helpful, talking me through the process on the phone and via email. Unfortunately due to the severity of my hard drive crash, he was unable to recover any data; however, he was very apologetic, did not charge for his time and was able to recommend a company that did manage to recover my data. I cannot thank him enough for helping me through this process!

My Hard Drive was reformatted and Ernie at Toba Recovery Melbourne recovered the complete hard drive quickly, efficiently and as quoted.They are worth the money and they are also affordable enough that I was able to get my hard drive repaired straight away where I found other places over charged and didnt provide any customer service. I was informed of everything and was able to review what files had been found on the hard drive before proceeding with the full recovery.The customer service, from the receptionist at the base office on St Kilda Road to the personalised service from Ernie was excellent.
