Good food! The quantity is generous and tastes so good... you will overeat here :)The place could use some better lighting and a cleaner decor. However most of the orders were to-go while we were there, so I assume they might not be spending money on ambiance.
They make good food, taste good, looks good. Buuuuut…. They have a roach infestation…… saw a 1 inch long German Cockroach. Sorry, guys. I really didn’t want to expose them but I’ve eaten here and I’m disgusted.
disaster, ordered vegetable biryani, it has only 2 veggies potato and carrot both are uncooked/semi-cooked. I do not recommend Mintt Indian Cuisine. Disaster.
Excellent service and very reasonable pricing with high quality food. Surely recommend
I ordered 3 curry for me and my friends. I don’t know if it’s there policy but they only send 1 rice. I have been a customer for long time. But this is DISAPPOINTING.
I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan - it was fantastic! Best Indian food in Pittsburgh for sure. When I was growing up, one of my best friends was Indian, and this tasted like her grandma cooking for us when we were little. Im so happy to have found my new regular Indian food spot in Pittsburgh - thank you for the wonderful meal, Ill be back soon and regularly!
This is one of my favorite spot when I come to visit Pittsburgh. The restaurant is spacious and the food is really good!🙌
Their mild spicy level is hot spicy level for me. I usually order medium spicy but from this restaurant mild spicy is too much spicy for me
The butter chicken was the best Ive ever had and the methi matar malai was really good too. The biryani was just okay and they could only make it medium spice level instead of mild. Overall this place was great and would definitely eat there again.
It was a great experience! We got large servings which definitely were worth the money we spent. The food was delicious and the staff were also very hospitable. The area was very clean as well. It’s a must try for anyone in Pittsburg!
Wanted to have a nice dinner after a busy day, so thought to give an another chance to this restaurant and whole food was tasteless and not a worth of what I paid..not even a good vibe, waitress is just not that responsive and don’t check if we need something and we had to self serve us by picking the plates and napkins from other tables…I don’t suggest this restaurant at all for anyone and I am never coming back aswell..I wish I can give review 0 but no other option..
The food and customer service was great and the restaurant was very clean. They apparently haven’t had a lunch buffet option since covid but haven’t taken that option down from their windows or online - false advertising to lure customers?
Foods ok but good help is hard to come by.The waitress was on her phone the whole time and completely unattendive. She had to be called to attention to place order, got it wrong, refill drinks, bring the cheque, bring duplicate receipt. Obviously wanted to be anywhere else.
It has gone very expensive, a lunch with chicken curry and one "naan" bread cost me $17.xx. When there was buffett, the lunch crowd used to be overwhelming. Now there were people only on two tables (including uson a Friday lunch time. I am not surprised.
I have visited Mintt Indian restaurant many times with my family. Great staff. We never had any issues either with wait time or staff or the taste or quality of the food. If atall the staff suspected delay in the food we ordered, immediately they would tell us that the order would take time without surprising us with horrible wait time later. Just for a change, after trying different Indian restaurant and having a WORST experience there with the taste of the food, horrible wait time , unapologetic and rude staff , I would now on make sure to only visit Mintt and highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family.
Fantastic!! The food is delicious and savory. I got the samosas, garlic naan, chicken tiki masala. Cannot wait to go back to try more items on their menu.
I got the biryani and gulab jamun from Mintt ! They were really good only the biryani was spicy otherwise it both of the things were really good. Definitely give it a try !
We can get Excellent indian authentic food … specially biryani is as same as we eat in Hyderabad famous biryani points
The best authentic indian food….especially mint special chicken biriyani was too good. Loved it!
I ordered chicken but they gave veg. Management is very bad I can see only one lady inside who is managing everything, need to increase staff.
Not worth to pay a second visit. I wish I had read the reviews before visiting. You need to keep a note to yourself of what has been ordered. Youll be surprised to see that the ordered quantities get revised without your notice and youll 3nd up in paying for that.Food quality is not that great. Special biryani is nothing but chicken curry poured over some colored rice bowl.We all were finished with our dinner and at the end (almost after 2 hourswe got one plate or idli and bada. Hats off to the server and the chef.
I eat at Mintt at least six times per year and gladly supported them with take out during Covid hibernation. The food is always fresh and tasty. I like mid-level spiciness, so I am never a fan of something that burns through my mouth and ruins my tastebuds for the rest of the meal. Mintt has a good balance of mild and spicy so I can enjoy the flavors without catching on fire. My sister, nephew and I shared several dishes and enjoyed them all. I especially liked the spinach and potato (__ alou), which was truly memorable. Everything is always good and the service is attentive and prompt. This is not a fancy place, but a very excellent place for real Indian food. Reasonable prices, great location, easy parking and good service. Worth the try.
One of the Beat Indian restaurant in neighborhood. They have great variety of food options. I used to order Paneer Biryani, Paneer fried rice, Malai Kofta, Garlic naan, Methi Matar Malai are our favorites. But all recipes are awesome. Must visit. 👍 And of course Bakery items including Birthday cakes and food order for parties.
I love the food at this restaurant. The mint special biryani and Andhra special spice dosa are my most favorite dishes here. The quality is consistent when compared to other restuarants in town. I would love to come back time and time again.
It was not a pleasant experience! The waiter needs to undertake some grooming sessions… “order kosam aagali, you need to wait there are others in line” - @mintt hey I came for dine in and was seated for more than 20 minutes! These guys also ended up in miss placing my order! Bad attitude vibes all over
When u order Biryani with spice level high. They add raw green Chilli pieces..Seriously.. does anyone adds raw green Chilli pieces? that too very small that u cant even pick it..
If service is not good then nothing much to review on the food. Only one guy to take order and serve on Tuesday when we visited. we 3 adults visited , ordered 3 main dish , 1 side dish and 2 starters he missed to serve one of the main dish and we were waiting and waiting, finally when we asked about that, he simply told he forgot to order so we ended up canceling that item. For biriyani we need to ask raita and onions, they won’t serve by default
I am normally not the one to leave the reviews but now it’s got to the point where I have to write it. We’ve been ordering food from mint for past 6-7 years be it take outs or catering it has always been the best. But from past few months since the management has changed everything has gone downhill. Portions has been small, missing items, wrong orders, spoiled food. And it’s been happening every single time. No doubt food is great and that’s the reason we order over and over but service is bad. And when you complain about quantity or anything they ban you from ordering. And they start taking orders again after few days and just won’t serve right. Today same thing happened they gave one and half portions of sambar for 2 portions of idli and when I called the manager says that’s how much you get. Or you have to pay more for extra sambar.
I was ordering take out from this place every weekend for 2-3 months straight because their Chana Masala is THAT good. Their samasos are really tasty too and they give you a pretty good portion for the price! One of my favorite Indian Restaurants hands down.
Ordered hot and sour soup which was literally hot siracha sauce in chicken. It was totally inedible food. Also, ordered grilled chicken with medium spice! It was absolutely too much spicy. I am not sure if they actually know what does medium spice means 😞I wasted my money!
Not good. The only thing worth noting was the Chicken 65 which tasted pretty fresh and flavorful. The naan was a joke - if you had told me I was eating my napkin I would have believed you. Rice was fine. The goat curry was just a few bones and gravy, or as my boyfriend said “it was just all leaves” (curry leaves)…. it was so disappointing! And the curry was sooooo hot (temperaturethat my boyfriend was convinced it was microwaved. I am not sure on that but it did not taste fresh.Service was not good except for our food runner who delivered the food to us once it was ready. Our waiter was no where to be found, I honestly think he went home while we were eating because we never saw him again. Had to hound the guy at cash register to just ring up our bill so we could leave, if he hadn’t gone up, we’d probably still be sitting there.I was shocked to see so many food delivery orders stacked on the table getting picked up. I felt bad for those customers waiting at home for this quality!Walls and windows were dirty and dusty. Yuck. When you don’t see any Indian customers in an Indian restaurant that is a red flag. My boyfriend was the only one, and even he recognized that it must not be good if it was empty. he is rather upset to spend his money on poor quality lunch where we left hungry. And when we were leaving, a car almost hit us while we were waiting for traffic to pass to get back on Banksville road.We will never be back.
Last time we came, we fell in love with this place so I went for b-day dinner. Last night, we saw a different place completely. First, they bring us pitchers of water with no cups. We wait and wait, I go ask if we can put in our order and drinks. He says hes not the waiter but theres no one else there to help us. But then in 5min he changed his mind I guess and took our order. I asked for cups to go with the water jugs and we got tiny, mouthwash-sized plastic cups. So weird. He took our order and then informed us AFTER that everything we ordered isnt the price on the menu but higher, because they gave us old menus. Huh??? What are the prices then??? We asked him if we could order drinks now and he was super confused like this was the first time he had ever waited tables. Our drinks came out all wrong of course. Food then came out and it was OK. Not nearly as good as last time. But they tried to short us on the rice and the appetizers were cold and weird. I asked for mint chutney and they rolled their eyes and brought us a to-go sized plastic container of it. Just really strange, like the water cups. The curries also came with no serving spoons. Totally bizarre for an Indian restaurant. I asked for some and again they rolled their eyes. After we got our food we NEVER SAW THE WAITER AGAIN. Like not even to get paid??? This guy was totally preoccupied with the dozens of Uber eats drivers coming in and waiting but he didnt care about us at all after the food was brought. Did not refill drinks, did not ask us how it was, did not say thank you, NOTHING. Then proceeded to give themselves a decent mandatory tip. Loved it last time, but something changed and Im never coming back.
I rarely leave reviews but this was such an odd (badexperience. 4 adults and 2 kids for dinner. The people taking the orders were not skilled waiters and kept confusing everything. Brought pitchers of water to the table but no glasses or cups. When we asked, a stack of white plastic "bar" cups. We had to ask for everything before getting it - from chutney for pakoras to serving spoons and rice for the mains. Chicken tikka salad appetizer had almost no chicken, as did butter chicken. When I went to pay I discovered that each item cost one or two more dollars more than shown on the menu or showing online. And then they had the gall to add an 18% tip.
The food here used to be excellent. Over the last 6 months something has changed. Quality has really gone down. Firstly, the spice level is always hot. They ask you if you want mild medium or hot but there is definitely no difference between the spice levels. All of it is very very hot. I am of Indian origin and am used to spices. Secondly, when ordering meat dishes there is one to three pieces of chicken etc in the whole dish. Most likely will return to competitor.
WORST !!! I ordered cauliflower Manchurian dish,All they served was battered cauliflower florets dipped in a bottle of Tomato ketchup. YakShame on you chef. If you don’t know how to cook then don’t serve customers, please don’t spoil our health. I had to suffer from upset stomach.A manchurian dish is fusion dish made with manchurian sauce not with a tomato ketchup.STAY AWAY from this place they don’t know how to cook Indian food. Period !!!
I have ever taste this kind of food I have ordered biryani mint special white rice is better than this
Sep 2021 Update -- Had a chance to come back to this place and was glad I did. Went with two friends and while there are obvious cutbacks due to the events of the past two years but the food is still first rate and thats worth the visit.I am maintaining the five star rating. The clientele is still predominately ethnic Indian. In fact, throughout the evening, we were the only non-Indian patrons except for people picking up food, and for all I know, they were delivery people! The areas were there are obvious cutbacks are that the menu is much reduced from what it was, and that the serving dishes, plates, and the like, are now Melmac and plastic cups -- definitely a step backwards. The food is still incredibly inexpensive for what you are getting. The three of us got two appetizers, two main dishes, two breads and lassis. The meal averaged $20 per person. Thats a great deal!2018 - My favorite Indian restaurant in the South Hills. The flavors are always full-featured and spot on. The place is large and can accommodate parties from 2 to 20 with no difficulties.Walking into an ethnic restaurant and seeing lots of folks from that group as a large portion of the clientele is always a good sign and thats what we found there. You need to be a bit patient as they take time to prepare your food and the food comes out of the kitchen in some sort of order, but not one thats clear to us. Still an excellent meal and place.
Food is awesome. Ordered various menu items from their Indo-Chinese menu section. They have a delectable variety thatbis lip smacking good. Had Chili Paneer and Vegetarian Manchurian with garlic sauce gravy. Also enjoyed Veg Hakka Noodles and Veg Fried Rice. Do try their Paneer Biryani. Its fragrant, layered and yummy.Feedback: Had a large order. Online order was resulting in errors repeatedly so I called them to place my order. They have a promo code for an10% discount (MINTT10). On the phone, I was told you can ask for it when you come to pick-up your order. Ask for the Manager. Sadly, they did not honor the commitment for a genuine customer, even with a large order. Manager did not assist. Was unhelpful. Disappointed with their customer service.
Love this place. Always good, every single time. Prices are fair, but totally worth the quality of the food.
The BEST Indian cuisine I have ever tasted!!... I absolutely never take pics of food and text friends about it especially while Im eating but I did. Great staff, and people were lined up for take out. That should have been my first clue that I was about to experience a banquet to the palette and I definently did...
Ok, the place is nice, it looks clean and the ambience its really familiar! The service was very nice, but the food was so spicy...well, if you come from South India, you will love this place, but, if you are not use to eat hot and spicy food...this place is definitely NOT for you,...I think they should have a low spice menu for those that love foreign food but cant stand the spicy stuff...hahaha, thats my opinion...but I really love to try new food to know about other cultures! ...the price is affordable and the only thing I really love was the "Indian Mango juice" (I dont know the exact name)..because was sweet and delicious!
The taste is authentic Indian food. We ordered baby corn Manchurian that was tangy and good. Chicken 555 was good in flavor. Panner special briyani was mix of Hyderabad and south mixed style and egg hakka noodles was good too. Just ensure you stay with spice level 2-3. I ordered 5 out of 10 still it was spicy. I would recommend to try.
We ordered takeout for the 1st time eating here. The food was done quickly, the guy who greeted us and gave us our order was kind, friendly and asked if we wanted extra rice. We did not but I thought that was very nice of him to offer. My husband and I thought the food was really good and would like to try the buffet next time. I got my food spiced as a 1 and my husband got his at a 10. He loves spicy food and was really pleased it was incredibly spicy :)We definitely recommend eating here :)
Went here for Thanksgiving buffet lunch. There were lot of options in non veg section. Turkey as is tradition with Thanksgiving was there too with option of carving a turkey piece yourself to turkey biryani to a curry of turkey. Food was good and wish there was little more option in dessert.
This is a comfortable dining place, not an upscale gourmet experience for sure, but a great place for dinner once you know what you like. I have been there for dinner on workdays a few times with colleagues and received mixed feedback. Personally, workday evenings means simple recipes for me like veg pulao and dal makhni and kadi pakoda and I have loved the freshly-cooked hot homestyle comfortable meals.
Better place in Pittsburgh, buffet was good . Gulab jam was the best. Dosas in the buffet are good .
This was my first time eating here. The music and atmosphere was very authentic. The Samosas were delicious. My server was very nice and professional. I ordered the Baingan Bharta which was made with eggplant served with a bowl of Basmati rice. Very tasty! The Roti which is an Indian whole wheat flat unleavened bread was my choice of bread. Went well with my meal. I recommend this for anyone who likes authentic Indian cuisine. They do have a lunch buffet as well. Ill definitely come back for that...😀
Good selection that changes every day. One of the things I like about Indian buffets is the variety - something for everyone.
Nice place to get good Indian food. The ambience is fine. Service was quick. They make good cakes too.
Best biryani Ive had, ever I think! I tried the egg biryani when I went because it was new to me. I really want to try the traditional ones (beef/chickennext!! Portions are also pretty generous.
