I have been coming here for years and realized I have never given my people a review 🤦🏽I LOVE IT HERE!!!! I love cars but have no idea how to fix them but moonlight not only addresses my issues but makes sure that they educate me along the way!!!! the service and customer service is beyond any Ive experienced from a shop. The service manager Cal was absolutely fantastic. I will be a return customer for all my vehicles in the future. It was a refreshing experience at a mechanic to have the issues and prices discussed openly and the service be fast and efficient.

It is so refreshing to find folks you can trust, who are good communicators, and super-fair. They are really good detectives, too, taking on those mystfying challenges. My Honda and I are grateful for great service we receive at Moonlight. Highly recommend.

I was referred to Moonlight by Kenny at Aamco, who highly recommended Moonlight for engine work. Ive had great experience with Kenny so I trusted his reference. Keith gave me the bad news that I needed a whole new engine, but gave me a great price. I picked it up today and it feels stronger than ever. Im very happy with the work they did and the warranty it came with. Theyve earned my loyalty.

Had alternator replaced. Quick, quality service at a great price. Would highly recommend using them for your needs.

New to the area. Had work done on two vehicles in the last few months. Including a relatively old foreign vehicle. I seldom give 5 stars but I would give these guys 6 if I could. Service is efficient and super fast. They explain things well. They even looked at a problem and refused to charge us until a repair could be identified.

They have everything a good shop needs from the grumpy old guy to the cute young guy plus puppies! Prices are great and so is the customer service. All things said and done great mechanics.

I took my vehicle here and they were trying to charge be $2700 and honestly I’m pretty sure it was because I am a female. I took it to a dodge dealership (which is usually way more expensive than a private shopand for the exact same things they charged me $1400. DO NOT take your car to this shop! They are a rip off!

I had my oil changed this week. They were very timely and found I had bent my rim as well as picked up a nail in one of my tires and so they repaired the tire and rotated them, tapped out the dent on my rim. All very reasonable by my guestimation.My car drives infinitely better right now! I had gone too lone without oil change, cringe...I never do that til now :(But the next day I found myself locked out of my car in a store parking lot with my fob not working and the key itself not working. I almost called roadside assistance but dialed moonlight instead. Keith referred me to a tow dude who might be able to get into my car for me. Tow dude couldnt do that so tow dude took my car and me to moonlight where even though it should have been the end of their day Keith was able to get into my car where I had an extra fob, lotta good it did me there ;Long story short my car is older and the locks and things will probably continue to act up but Keith and the guys helped solve this particular puzzle. Thanks guys!!! (I thought my car had just finally died or something LOLWhen I went to pay they didnt charge me for time or anything! Wow. What a blessing!

I will highly recommend this shop for all your need. A lot of people will not even work on my truck since it was lifted. I was having a loud noise from the passenger side and pulled in with no opointment or call ahead. They almost immediately pulled my truck in to look at it confirmed the issue and had me back on the road in less than 2 hours for a very fair price. The shop area is very clean and organized which is a sign of care and competence. Please thy these guys if you have a problem.

Keith & Vanessa are amazing!! They are very professional & trustworthy. They were a wonderful help throughout the whole process of my vehicle being there at Moonlight Auto. Vanessa kept very good communication and answered any questions I had, While Keith explained to me step-by-step what had been done to the vehicle & what needed to be done. I couldn’t have had an better experience.

Fast, friendly and professional and the price was good. Took my car there to get my A/C recharged and I was in and out within about 30 minutes.

This is by FAR the best vehicle maintenance experience I’ve ever had. I was referred by a friend and they did not disappoint! From the first phone call with their receptionist who’s very friendly and helpful to the guys who repaired my car & being thorough with explaining what’s going on. It’s actually the best customer service I’ve received from any mechanic shop. They have convenient hours for those who work the typical 8-5, they aren’t out to charge you an arm and a leg like other car repair shops do and they’re very good about getting you in quick! Its hard to find a good honest mechanic nowadays and I’m so happy I came here. I have nothing but great things to say about this place and will definitely be going to them for any future car troubles!

This is a follow up to my previous review. I have 5 vehicles. Yes 5. I take all of my vehicles to Moonlight because I trust them. My most recent purchase is a 2014 Toyota FJ. My FJ was making a noise which turned out to be a loose bolt on the lower control arm which they tightened free of charge. Now how many shops do that. They could have said I needed major front end work. Since owning this vehicle Ive had them do an oil change, breaks pads, and cooling system flushed. The vehicle runs perfect. Moonlight has the midas touch.Awesome experience I was having problems with my A/C blowing warm air. Moonlight was able to find and fix the leak. Now I have cold air. I highly recommend Moonlight auto.

I came to Moonlight after a friend recommended this repair shop. Im so happy I found them there still a loyal and honest and stand behind the price and the warranty! I went to 3 different mechanics before I discovered Moonlight. They gave me the lowest estimate on A/C and breaks repair. The owner took his time explaining what needed to be done. The job was done on time. Highly recommend. Will definitely use their services again...

I wasted so much time and money going to my Ford Dealership before I found this well run neighborhood garage. Owner’s are very honest and and stand behind their work.

Only take your car to Moonlight Auto if you want to pay again in a few months for a good mechanic to fix Moonlight’s work. Absolutely terrible. I had brakes done in January and had to pay another mechanic to fix them in the spring. $500 down the drain. Had my oil changed in June, I think they forgot to fill it back up with oil, honestly. Shortly after, my check engine and oil light came on and I had to put FOUR QUARTS of oil in it, indicating there was little to no oil in my car - also, there was no oil leak - we checked. What kind of mechanic can’t even change oil? My grandma could do a better job. Thank God I caught it before the engine completely seized. I have spent over $1100 since May having a real mechanic fix the work that Moonlight Auto did, in addition to the money I paid them in the first place. Total crooks. There’s a reason why they’re never busy and when you call to make an appointment for service, they tell you that you can come in right away. Please take your car ANYWHERE ELSE.

OMG. I was so happy with this shop and its owners. They were very proactive and efficient. Everyone was so friendly. The work was completed in a quick but quality manner. The price was very fair. I would recommend them to anyone. Plus they have a sweet and friendly pup to greet you as well.Be sure to make an appointment. It helps if you want to get your vehicle in and out faster.

Had a very nice experience Everyone from the front office to the mechanics were nice and understanding answered all my questions and kept the price reasonable I take my classic 1974 Chevy there all the time they only one that works on my Vehicle

After 4 years with Moonlight I came to the sad conclusion that I was being ripped off. Just this past March, Moonlight replaced the radiator fan (thermal clutchand that repair/part has already gone bad. Two years ago they replaced the radiator, and that just went this past weekend. I had to put in another radiator, but went to a different mechanic. Based on my recent experiences with a new mechanic shop, have figured out that Moonlights repair costs are about double the going rate. The new mechanic quoted $310 to replace the thermal clutch. When I had it done in March with Moonlight it cost a bit over $600.The issue that raised a red flag for me is that the fan sound came back after only a few months of having had it repaired. Moonlight insisted that it wasnt the thermal clutch and that it was the front sway links. I declined to have that work done and referred to our maintenance history, and discovered that the sway links, and a lot of other parts on the front end had been replaced 3 years prior. Thats when I decided to get a second opinion. The new mechanic found nothing wrong with the front end, but did find that the rear wheel bearings and links needed to be replaced. That work cost about half the price of what Moonlight would have charged me.Two years ago the radiator at Moonlight cost me $689. Just this week the radiator replacement at my new mechanic cost $460. That, in my books, is price gouging.Now I question whether Moonlight did the repairs they charged me for, or simply replaced items that didnt need to be replaced. I have never asked any prior mechanic to save and show me the worn out parts. Now I wonder if the radiator I supposedly needed two years ago was ever done, especially since my radiator died after two years. I question everything that Moonlight ever did to my car now. In the past I sent this shop a lot of business; many family members and friends. I am sorry to say that I got badly burned by Moonlight Automotive. Steer clear of this shop.Update to Keiths response: I did bring the vehicle back and both Keith and Cal said that it wasnt the same noise. I call that gaslighting. Then Cal tried to sell me a front end repair which was going to include sway links and hub bearings - all of which had already been replaced in 2017 and 2018 (sway links, hub bearings, control arms). Once there are doubts and trust is gone, I cannot go back.

Great experience while out of town traveling & in need of repairs. My check engine light came on, they got me in early, provided a free diagnostic inspection & took care of the problem. My car ran great all week & no problems on the 500 mile trip back home.

We drove 1 hour and a half to go boating in Clearwater when the bearing came out of the trailer of the boat. Drove in to moonlight and Keith quickly came out to help us and put in a new hub, so we could make it back home. We are so thankful for everything. They were there when everyone else was turning us away! Our family was blessed to come across Moonlight, Keith and his guys!

Brought in a 2013 335i xdrive on limp mode. Everyone is very professional and knowledgeable. Front desk staff was courteous and efficient. They completed diagnostics and cleared results codes, instead of going on a chase. I would recommend anyone with car trouble to come and see for yourself.

i Went here to diagnose my left rear tail light, whoever was working on my car decided to also take apart the right tail light (that was working perfectlywithout consulting me first. The owner then came up to me to tell me that I’d have to be buying a new price for each side and it would be $150 just for the left side but he advised that I completely needed the right side as well. Which I declined to and only said I’d be fixing the left side because the right side was working perfectly fine. After he put my car back together I realized as I was turning out of the lot that now my right tail light was not working. Be weary of going here if you are younger and do not have much knowledge of cars, these men purposely messed with my car to be able to get more money out of me. I went back to the dealership that I bought my car from and the man was able to fix both tail lights in 20 minutes. Just thought I should put this out here if you are a new car owner and young with little car knowledge. Do not let these people scam you.

I am so pleased to write a review for Moonlight Auto. My wife, son and I have been using their services for several years. I have also referred very dear friends to them. So, I can, without reservation, make a very positive recommendation about their services. We are fortunate to have them. We have recently moved out of Clearwater but will make the trip back to them for service. They provide the very best in terms of service, cost, and caring.

Everyone from the front desk to the mechanics were extremely friendly. I brought my car in on short notice and they got my car in right away and gave me new breaks and rotors for an extremely fair price. I was in and out within 2 hours.Having just moved here from New York I needed a new mechanic, they 100% will get all of my business from now on. Highly recommended.

They did the job. Did it right. And didnt charge an arm and a leg. Very rare in our industry (automotive)My mother was in an accident and lost the front passenger wheel of her 2008 Nissan Altima and the car had to be towed to Moonlight Automotive in Clearwater. The guys did a good job had the car ready in a short time and charge very little considering the circumstances. If I needed a shop to take care of the anyting on one of my cars I would definitely consider them if you are in the area. The only part Im not too thrilled with is the fact that I specifically left instructions to save the wheel as it was an alloy and belonged to my other vehicle so I wanted a trim back however they did not send the rim back with the Nissan so now I have to find a replacement aluminum alloy for my Buick Park Avenue other than that I would have rated 5 stars

I had a diffuser and mud guards installed on my Challenger today at Moonlight. Not only was it installed correctly, but Cal put additional fasteners that ensure durable and and proper fitment to my car. The price was fair, the staff provided outstanding feedback, and I walked away with more knowledge about my car. I noticed they also offer a wide range of services, like oil changes and tire service so from here on out they’ll be the shop I go to, hands down.

My man and I are from out of town (Atlanta, GAand we were suppose to head back today after a week here in Clearwater when the check engine light came on and my Jeep kept shutting off and stalling in the middle of driving. Shifting, cruising, neutral... it didn’t matter. Kept shutting off. Luckily, we were able to get to the shop (less than two miles away when we started REALLY having troubleand they took us in on a SATURDAY and stayed late to make sure the needed repairs were done so we could go home! We were offered water, coffee, and even pizza to help keep us comfortable while they worked on the Jeep.One of my favorite parts, though, was when Brandy (the owners’ dogcame out and loved on us. She is SUCH a good dog and so sweet! She entertained us and laid next to us while we were there.The cost of parts and labor was extremely fair and their customer service made it worth every single penny. If you’re going to break down in Clearwater, don’t go anywhere but Moonlight Automotive!To Keith and his crew (especially his lovely wife!): Thank you guys for taking such good care of us. What a wonderful experience here today! My car was acting up this am. I text a friend to ask her who she uses for her car she directed me to here and said our co worker also uses them. Highly recommended them. They were able to order my parts and get us back on the road within a couple hours! The labor and parts prices were reasonable. Let’s face it none of us ever feel like we can afford bringing our car to the shop but with affordable service and a great staff who can complain. Thank you for your excellent and fast service. Bonus they have a mascot named Brandi. Most lovable playful dog I have ever met. She helped pass the time for us also. You definitely have repeat customers in us.

This Auto service establishment is fast, honest, and trustworthy. I go here for service on my used cars. I have never had a problem with them. I did go for a tire one time and they did not have the size I needed. The person on the phone helped me find the closest tire plus and recommended I go there. What a place instead of making me wait while ordered the tire he considered my time and sent me somewhere that took care of me same day. Like I said wonderful business and great customer service. Moonlight automotive is the mechanic for my used cars.

Very friendly auto repair shop. Always professional. We take our 3 cars (Jeep, Mercedes & Infinitiin for service and they never try to sell us more than what is needed. They are honest and if they arent able to fix the problem, they recommend alternative places that are also honest and reliable. They are quick to diagnose any problem so we arent without our vehicle for an extended time. Reasonable pricing as well.

Fantastic customer service. I found an SUV on Craigslist (in Clearwaterand not living in the area was a little apprehensive on putting a deposit down. Called and spoke to Keith at Moonlight. He advised to have the SUV brought down to the shop and for a nominal fee he would do an inspection. After inspection, he called and gave me a complete rundown of the issues he found and was incredibly knowledgeable about replacement costs, anticipated troubles and resale values. Although I will likely not purchase the vehicle I was very impressed with Keith and his team at Moonlight.

Personally, my dad works here. Everyone is so nice and are hard workers. My dad is a very experienced mechanic and has been doing his job for over 30 years. If i had a car i would go here, not only cause my dad works here, but also because they know how to do their job right.

Excellent service, honest people. Always take my daughters car in when we vacation in Florida for maintenance. I can trust them to always be fair and not overcharge me. I didnt have much time and didnt have a appointment and I was only there for a few day, AC wasnt working right. They squeezed me in and had me in and out same day. They had to order the part and they rushed it and got it to the shop same day and fix it right away, who does that? Most of the time you have to leave it overnight if they need a part or you dont have an appointment. Dont go anywhere else, I dont need to, they take care of everything the right way.

I received my car back at the exact time they said it would be ready. My bill was very reasonable and Keith and Amy are super nice.
