A thoughtful, charming, and powerful tribute to the early history of Mexican communities within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Free admission and a friendly docent, with a nice mix of historical artifacts, journals, photos, and more.
We walked in expecting very little. I went with a group of lovers and friends, and all we can say is wow. Wow wow wow.- amazing animatronics-great tour guide-mystery-“wax” figures-next level puppet technology-free brochures-tiny Joseph smith- we walked in expecting very little, we left levitating full of the spirit. Inspired, moved, educated. We definitely felt the presence of the early saints there. If anyone is asking themselves “should I go there?” The simple and clear answer is yes. Always and forever. With lots of love, for the museum and Levi,A.S.D.F.T.C.A.D.
I learned so much about the earliest pioneers of Mexico. And also the first Spanish Speaking missionaries. I served in Chile many years ago and I felt so grateful for the sacrifices and work that made the translation of the Book of Mormon into Spanish. This place is a must see. And take your time, it’s well worth it.
The owners are awesome!
Some interesting history. Worth a stop.
Fabulous exhibits and knowledgable employees
Amazing spirit here, I learned a lot, the visuals and artifacts were fantastic. I was fascinated by the history found in the walls of this little building
Came here while I was competing at state for track. The people working were super nice and gave us a awesome tour. I loved walking through and the presentation was super awesome and well done. Highly recommend you drop by if your in the area. They explain everything perfectly. Definitely earned a 5-star rating
Fue muy educativo
I loved that they had a lot of original pictures, furniture, and documents. Everything is well maintained and explained. Also, the atmosphere is very peaceful so it’s easy to see what you want to see at your own pace.
Me encanta El museo te dan un recorrido y te Dan una explicacion muy amplia
What a wonderful spiritual experience I had while learning and feeling
Cool that they gave it but not the most amazing thing ever tbh
I liked that this place had historical data regarding History of the Church in Mexico and parts of Central and South America. I just wished they had one more staff member to greet me, as I felt a little out of place.
It was fascinating and touching to learn more about the development of the church in Mexico. Fernando, the owner, has such good insights and you can tell that he is passionate about what he shares. Youll get a personal tour and be well treated.
Great spot to learn more of Utah history.
I had to come here to write a paper for a class and a couple was PDAing inside. Not a bad experience
Very pleasant and informative Meuseam. Family owned an run and filled with with the rich history of the mexican mormons/ LDS
Interesting but small.
Very informative and surprisingly upbeat staff who are excited to be at their job.
Pretty neat place, the owner’s a descendent of some of the early members of the lds church in Mexico and knows a lot about it all. Not very interactive but they have an informative video, many pictures and a number of manikins
Beautiful place
Its a low budget production, but its also sincere and heartfelt. Latin American Saints have a rich and beautiful history/tradition in the Church and their story deserves to be told. Enjoyed learning about their dedication and sacrifice.
It was a very niche museum. We actually only went in to get out of the rain while we were eating our gyros. The people were warm and welcoming. There wasnt a ton to see, but it was kind of cool if youve got a few minutes
Es un lugar muy interesante me gusta y lo recomiendo para toda la familia
I really enjoyed this museum when I went in the fall of 2015. The owners of the museum are very invested in helping you learn as much as possible about the history of the LDS Church in Mexico. The museum was both faith inspiring and intellectually interesting in explaining the unique challenges early Mexican LDS members faced when the Church started there. The only reason I gave this place four stars is because at the very end of the personal tour, there was this animatronic presentation which was a little creepy. If they got rid of these (and kept the voicesor made them way better, this would be a five star experience.
Have to go at least once
This is a great place to learn about the Mormon history of South and Central America!
Great environment, artifacts, and a knowledgeable curator who shares personal experiences that vastly enhance the reality of the exhibits.
I was very impressed by this museum. I visited in the early afternoon and was given an exclusive tour. I was surprised by how little I knew before entering the museum and yet the experience was very comfortable for me and inspiring. My tour guide had a vast knowledge of what was on display and explained it all effectively. He was also sensitive to my time (for me, I was in no hurry so it was up to me as far as how much I wanted to absorb). I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a unique experience while in Provo. Its as close as it gets to the BYU football stadium and campus. And its free. Although Ive been with this church my entire life, I could see it being a very cool experience for people outside the Mormon faith as well.
We took our cub scout group and they were extremely warm and friendly. Our Cub Scouts loved it and I was amazed at how much I learned. The pictures and atmosphere inside of the museum was amazing. I cant believe this isnt as busy as other museums in Provo. Wonderful visit. I recommend it to all!
The Museum of Mormon Mexican History has the largest collection of Mexican Church history. They have documents and original research that you will not find anywhere else. The owner is fantastic and caters to your needs, whether you want a personal presentation on a specific topic or a basic tour--he knows everything there is to know about the history of the LDS Church in Mexico. Stop by, it´s worth it.
