Very nice, all fresh bakery goodies
Take dozens of hard rolls home every visit. Nothing better.
Best hard rolls warm fresh out of the oven
The staff is very friendly and fast serving.
All I can say is yummy
Hasnt changed thankfully! Delicious pastries. Freshly baked bread and rolls. We couldnt stop eating themBy far the best bakery in Scranton
Excellent help. Great selection. Great value
Its pretty good foe baked items but not as good as 1st owner!!! Hopefully they will get it after they are there for a while. Prices are still the same cheap, considering everything went up!!! For homemade quality stuff National bakery is a must...
The rolls have changed theyre darker in Color, harder not as good as they used to be this has happened in the last 6 to 8 months maybe. Something has changed my home family says this.
It is a verily lovely small town bakery
Cash only, Busy place, line moves fast, excellent service, all home made pastures, breads, rolls
Great staff, amazing breads
My favorita Bakery in scranton
Best bread in town! My favorite bakery offering a wide variety of breads and pastries at a good price.
Always the best hard rolls and hoagie buns
Been getting rolls here for as long as I can remember. They still taste exactly the same. Best rolls anywhere!!
Every time I go in here theres a problem. Yesterday it was a cashier who kept talking for so long about how "nobody wants to work these days" that the line of customers went right to the door. Another time I watched a cashier be super rude to a lady for asking about the difference between brioche and hard rolls. Like, I know the bread is good here, but I always leave wishing Id gone somewhere else.
Great Bakery Love there bread products and goodies always fresh.
Always tasty baked goods, we go there for the rolls and breads.
No Italian bread. Not much of a variety. Pastries look like they’ve been sitting there for two weeks. Doesn’t take credit or debit cards either.I cannot recommendVERY DISAPPOINTED
Great bakery conveniently located right across the street from us! There are so many delicious sweets to choose from and I think we will need to be visiting on a regular basis! It’s perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth or anyone that wants some tasty bread.
We love this bakery and drive 45 minutes to enjoy their baked goods. Their home-made rolls are simply outstanding.
Always fresh rolls, buns/ bread. Delicious .Thank you for being part of our community.
Best bread and rolls in the entire area their hard rolls and Pullman cant be beat no matter how hard you try
The BEST foot ball buns, hard rolls, and horns. WOW put some butter on them with your coffee in the am and Enjoy!
This company seriously needs to start using product dates. I bought a 6 packs of hard rolls at gerritys that supposedly were brought sat by Tuesday they were going bad. My husband only got to use two rolls for the price & this isnt the first time Ive had an issue.
Friendly staff, great prices, baked fresh daily. Our #1 supplier of rolls and buns. Wont settle for anything less!!
I really miss the rolls and bread from here, unique and unparalleled IMO. When Im in town, I buy bags of their hard rolls to take for family & friends.
I grew up in Scranton and grew up on National Bakery hard rolls. They are absolutely amazing. I moved 17yrs ago and still everytime I visit I leave with a dozen. I can not find baked good that even come close to National Bakery.
National Bakery is a must try! Fresh bread, rolls and the pastries are the best everything fresh baked ever day!
Love the workers! Theyre so sweet, an patient! They love to help you find what you need! The food is outstanding! Always fresh!
Very friendly employees, however they were not able to tell me if some items were made with yeast. They should have an ingredients list available.
We placed an order for our party. It was ready for us top pick up as discussed. Someone helped me being everything into the car. They were super helpful!
Disappointed that they use soybean oil and enriched flour in making their products. Was hoping they made their breads with higher quality whole grain ingredients.
This place is also good. Selection is good. Treats were fresh tasty and pretty. Overall, in all categories, they fall behind National Pastry.
Bread is average but bagels are great. They do make pizza but its far from being decent. Staff is friendly and polite. They only accept cash, no credit or debit cards, so make sure to have cash on you. Prices are decent, I would expect it to be lower for a bakery.
My husband and I went in there today around 12:30 they did not have hard rolls or any kind of roll ! We were very disappointed that was the only reason we went there. We definitely will not be going back and wasting our time!
Bagels are awesome so are the cannolis.
Delicious breads, brownies, cookies, etc. We love the thick sliced bread for Texas Toast! You can smell the baking bread from blocks away!
We live in NC and when we come up to Scranton, I dont leave without a visit to get bagels, rolls and danishes from National Bakery. Amazing food, and the prices are unbeatable.
Theyre the best. Weve been going there for 60+ years. I grew up on their rolls. Theres nothing there I dont love.
Love National Bakery!! Ive been going here for hard rolls and bread for many years. The only problem is that they do not accept credit cards or debit cards. So be prepared..and bring cash.
Average bakery. Didn’t really see anything special. The cash only aspect is not a good business strategy but I guess it’s working for them. With no ATM onsite, I had to leave to get cash and come back. Not worth the trouble as in my opinion, Gerrity’s bakery is much better and do accept all forms of payment.
I have been going to this place for as long as I can remember. Thats a concious 40 yrs. Concious I mean by,as long as I could physically remember. Anyway, their breads are done the same way since the beginning. They are way cheaper than the brand names that everyone buys and they are way fresher and just straight out better. They sell popular ones like multigrain and the healthier options. Ill be straight here and tell you I dont like mulitgrain of any kind besides this one. Amazing breads and good prices. I guess it would have been easier
Great fresh bread! Their hard rolls are famous, but I love their crispy Italian rolls even better, perfect for a big burger
This is one of Scrantons many secret. Its like Diagon Alley. Its so easy to miss, but holds a whole nother magical world inside. The quality is super fresh, the baked goods taste amazing, and the prices cant be beat! But best of all is the kind and friendly staff, and thats completely priceless.I sometimes take my kids for a "hands on math trip" and the staff is so friendly, polite, helpful, and encouraging to the youngsters as they deliberate and ponder how the spend their "budget" in the most efficient way possible. Its a tough call since EVERYTHING is looks an tastes amazing! The bakery is also kosher (dairy - some items are Cholov Yisraelunder the Orthodox Hashgacha of R M. Fine.
I’ve been blown away by visiting this place, these guys are running this bakery since 1940.
You know when theyre baking - you can smell it blocks away! Some of the best bagels around....dense, chewy, and delicious. Go for the everything style. Always a line out the door around the holidays so plan ahead!
This place has some very yummy treats! I just cant get enough of their Italian bread, it tastes so fresh and authentic. I also come here for all my pies or cakes for parties, birthdays, ect. Great bakery in Scranton, I do recommend.
I remember my Dad going to the bakery very early in the morning. He ran a few snack bars at the local pants manufacturing plants, and they always sold hard rolls and a few other items in the bread line. I even go there when I get to town. My kids love them, and we really cant get any GOOD HARD rolls in Md.Natl bakery may get reports from Pa State health inspectors, but show me a restaurant anywhere or bakery who hits a "A+" rating without paying off the inspector,to look the other way.(and yes it does happen).
