Views far into the countryside, dotted with fields, meadows wooded areas and picturesque villages. All can be explored via a large network of footpaths.
Lovely proper crisp batter. No horrble white or yellow gunky stuff on inside and lovely chips. Keep up the excellent frying
Beauty of nature. Soft to the eye, laid like a carpet of nature.
Stunning views. National Trust woods with large car park (Free for members). Long or short walks well signed. Beautiful colours in autumn.
Beautiful part of the country to visit and stay, just get out and see.
Cool place with a perfect spots for picnics and bike rides
Unusual walk on mod owned land. Amazingly peaceful and currently recovering from a huge fire so the charred common land has a strange atmosphere to it
Boxhill: Nice place to chill out for a few hours, lovely biker friendly cafe at the bottom of the hill and really nice restaurant at the top of the hill
It’s an amazing place…lots of trek trails..i love it
I mean, its not outstanding beauty but it is reasonably good.According to me, it is a nice place to go for a picnic lunch. There are a few walking trails, enough space for parking (reasonably pricedand some cafes and ice cream parlour around. Restrooms are available at the box hill parking.
Great place for hiking! It was supposed to be a 2-hour trail but we ended up hanging out in the area for about 4 hours! The view on top was really amazing. Sitting there with a nice breeze was the best thing! Would definitely come here again
Beautiful nature with amazing views! Went on the stepping stones trail and although it was very steep we enjoyed it lots. The stepping stones were very cool but if you are only going for them and not for the hiking aspects then i recommend parking somewhere down the bottom since it’s a bit of a journey back up. There are some rest benches but i recommend to bring lots of water and food, especially if you are going in the summer. Other than that, the views are beautiful and there are many trails that are family friendly
Old Kiln Farm, Churt, has some remarkable cars and other vehicles.
Loved the views, even more the ones along the drive way that I ended up walking on my way down from the hill top. Such a nice day trip from London!
It’s really beautiful in and around this area AONB. Peaceful, overlooking the valley, the town, houses, railway station, while sitting on the soft, beautiful, green grass, enjoying some snacks lost in thoughts or reading a book. Perhaps hike a little around the hiking trails. Its definitely safe for little children with adult supervision. I can recommend this place.
Surrey Hills has some of the best views and scenery in England and great for walks, hiking, biking, camping, and whatever else that gets your blood pumping or calms your nerves. It is the main reason I chose to live in it.
Lovely areas of Heathland & hills as well as natural beauty. Miles of it to discover, it would take years to do. Friendly people to talk to as well. If you have not given it a go yet, I would certainly think about giving it a try.
Fantastic selection of walks, well worth looking on the website to see the different walks ranging from easy to challenging. Parking is pay to park at reasonable prices and situated around the whole area so easy to pick and choose.
Always love coming here! The views are amazing and there is so many different ways to walk. There is a cafe at the top and bottom of the hill which I havent been in but very handy to know.
Fantastic place to visit whith beautiful veiews and nice countryside
Historical landscape. Just a shame that the cost to maintain this is escalated because abusive individuals who for some reason dispose of their litter, other items that are dangerous to the environment and then these people who abuse this place more than likely moan about services for their lives and children that dont get helped. Simply curb your attitude. Dont be complacent, dont drag or influence others by littering the area and again you will be in a better position. But again, sadly. The minority have to suffer. Children are not thought of. And to much on top is detrimentally ricocheting right through every section of the country affecting lives and the economic structure of the society in the UK.

Amazing and true area of outstanding natural beauty. Nice for walking and relaxing, a good day out with for kids and families. Parking is £6 for the whole day or £4 for 4 hours.Going down to (Stepping stoneswas a big challenge for children and elderly!!
Walked for 5 hours around Leatherhead and Box hill. Stunning scenery, absolutely worth the train journey out, and its title as an AONB.
Where the nature shows it’s true beauty ! Only 30 mins away from london it’s truly spectacular area. I highly recommend it to hikers walkers mountain bikers and downhill bikers. Simply amazing
It is really outstanding area! Views are stunning, worth of long hike! Not long trail but quite hard. Just to give you an idea, My tracker was showing me that hiking there it was an equivalent of 28 floors up and 36 down.
AONB, so many walks through lovely woodlands, forests, villages and National Trust and Surrey Wildlife places to visit. Walking boots are pretty much always a must in all weathers. Some great mountain bike trails.
Beautiful countryside, best for trekking down the slop to the river and back. Ample of parking space, there is a lot to explore though, can not be done in a day...... Will certainly go back!!
This place is breath-taking, there are so many place to explore and great for hiking and having a scenic Walk!
Very nice place for a picnic or if you’re looking for a hike. In fact, many people come here to picnic only. It’s busy in summer and lots of cyclist and motorcyclists going up and down Zig Zag Road so driving up and down needs to be extra careful. That said, if you’re a cyclist/motorcyclist, this is the place for you. Also, because it’s busy in summer, plus with social distancing in place, I notice that they have started closing the way up at around midday or when the car parks up top are at full capacity. If you’re driving here, come early.A few things to be mindful of, however:1. Please do take your rubbish home. Many people come here and leave their lunch packing, BBQ tray, wrapping paper, etc. behind.2. The toilet is usually busy, and there’s only Male and Female (Disable door was locked when we were here lastso if you’re going with a different gender small child who can’t use the toilet alone yet), you’ll struggle. A male friend of mine came with his daughter and he was fortunate to have brought the potty in the car so the little girl had to do it in the back of the SUV.3. I think you’re expected to bring your own food so they only sell ice cream and pastries here along with hot drinks. Or maybe it’s because of lockdown and social distancing so they’re reducing capacity. That was my experience back in mid May 2021.4. Dogs are running without leash here, and there are plenty of them around. Be mindful if you’re afraid of dogs or with small children.
So we started our trip from west London to Surrey hills which took 45 minutes and were lucky got parking there,(on sunday’s extra parking available which is freeand started hiking to these beautiful hills and reached to the other end through the stepping stones. The cafe is at the entrance, variety of coffee and snacks available at fine prices and enough place to sit outside under the trees 🌳 🥳😄So overall was good experience!Highly recommended for kids, it’s fun 🤩Enjoy 🥳
Amazing place for a Sunday hike not too far from London. Can be crowded at times but some of the views are really worth it!
Beautiful and peaceful. Some areas popular and crowded, yet plenty of paths and places to find a quiet corner, ideal for picnics and a lovely day out.
Really nice park with beautiful hiking paths. You need to go early to park your car though, it gets quite crowded around the noon time. Get your food and drink as some paths are long.
Area is beautiful but facility were closed due to maintenance. Hiked on the stepping stones trail... The hike was good but the stones and the river were a bit disappointing. The hike back is strenuous... so not for the unfit. Daughter wanted to see animals... didnt see any.. not even a deer. Good views and excellent picnic spot but dont bother with the trails.
If u wanna spend amazing time with your family thats the best place. Hiking?? Yeah why not... river walk😊 excellent view point and old fortress....
Stunning view of undulating and perfect rolling British countryside. There are plenty of parking, including many spaces for disabled people and those with motorbikes. There are also plenty of lovely walking routs around the area, and great challenging routes for cyclists up and down the hills. We had a wonderful picknick on the wide open viewpoint. A must see area of outstanding beauty.
An underrated gem, stunning walks, magnificent views all mixed in an amazing variety of forest, woods, fields and ancient pathways. Just dont tell too many people!
Lovely place to visit for a nice day out, just bring your lunch and prepare to be awestruck with natural beauty around. Be prepare for 30-40mph wind, temperature can get below 8degrees but that is what you can expect from UK.
Beautiful area, even on a grey rainy day! We went for a long walk on the North Downs Way, and while it was muddy and wet, it was still well worth the short train journey from London. A lovely and easy day out in the country for Londoners.
This is a perfect short hiking route for beginners or for someone who wants to have a quick break in the nature. We spent about 3 hours here, was a great walk, down the hill, over the cobblestone bridge all the way around the bottom of the hill, then up on the hillside and back to the carpark! I would consider this a safe area, theres always a number of people along the paths
I love it here. Such a beautiful area, great for nature lovers, hikers and photographers. Lots of history too to read about. Can be tiring if you plan to take the kids but most areas have bench stops, toilets, cafes and ice cream trucks. Youll need a few trips to see all of it though.
A super beautiful place! Every scenario here is enjoyable. However I have to give 4 stars because some people here (maybe there are locals or might not are really rude and impolite, which made the awesome scenery become terrible.
Good place but absolutely huge. You will need to go there at least a couple of times before you get to know everything. Avoid the route to Stepping Stones if you are physically not fit as it will break you physically specially on the way up the very steep steps. Pretty much everyone I saw on this route lost their breath & were resting & drinking water. Even the dogs couldnt keep up & were exhausted. Parking is generally full but if you do make it, use the RingGo app to pay or coins if you have. Good fun day specially if its sunny.
Wonderful hill with a hillarious sight...if you cath good weather. Good choice for family with kids, my 3yo daughter climbed up to the top and went down by herself, so this is not a hard adventure. At top of the hill there is a price-low shop and a café with lovely cakes. Enjoyed it!
A beautiful part of the country with brilliant walks and lovely scenery. I have so far only completed National Trust routes but can see there are many more to explore and enjoy.
This is the very best that England has to offer. Miles and miles of fabulous walks in the woods, fields, paths, with all sort of things to watch, including ponds, birds, insects, nice trees. Keep in mind that there are no toilets anywhere to be seen for miles. Free parking all around and very few people, even on a nice Saturday.
Gosh what a walk. We did the Reigate National Trust walk today. A good two and a half hours of walking and hill climbing. The hills were super steep hut we managed to climb them with wobbly legs at the end. The views were beautiful from the top and great yo have a little snack at the top. I would definitely recommend this place for the Reigate walk as you climb the hills as you do the walk.
