Absolutely hate the online school!! If I could give them a zero I would! You go in circles with them to start the schooling then once your in the classes doing work you go in circles because of the fact they use different cites for the schooling who will tell you that you need your instructors to help you and your instructors will tell you to get ahold of the cites support and nothing will be done on either side!

Its a beautiful campus with plenty of parking surrounding the buildings.

Great College, great teachers, and directly connected to Kean University, with classrooms on the same campus; easiest way to complete the undergraduate degree in many majors right there at Kean. Graduate programs offered at Kean University as well. Both on the same campus in Toms River. Both are great schools. Highly recommend.

Had to pick up an honors by contract project I did back in 2015 for female veterans, it is always a pleasure visiting the college which I got my science degree from.

Saw 10 tenors last nite..wonderful show..everyone should see at least once..this is our 2nd time,will see again.

Paid for 2 classes, was given 2 ID numbers to log in online with, neither of the numbers work. I call IT, guy can’t get his phone to work and hangs up on me, calls me 4 more times and he can’t hear anything I say. I email 2 different help service emails, no one will be able to reply until next week. Absolutely terrible experience and it’s only just begun so I fear what my future may hold at this sad establishment. Save yourself some time and money and skip OCC.Update: Was told I had to email a different department because for some reason they can’t simply look up where the class is taking place, emailed twice as well as called and no response whatsoever. Truly unprofessional on every level.

I think that the Planetarium is one of the most under appreciated things in this area. We have so much at our fingertips and overlook what we have in our backyard. I suggest visiting and possibly taking a few classes here, even if you are an adult learner. Knowledge is never wasted. :)

Came with appointment for vivid test and was in + out within 10 minutes. The people were very pleasant + professional.

Went to line dance class. So much fun. The instructor was wonderful!

The college offers great classes and the teachers are very knowledgeable and helpful

I learned a lot from the professors at this college especially in my lab science classes. The library is always updating with cool books and the librarians are very helpful when you ask them for advice on a research topic or when you are interested in checking out a book. The campus atmosphere is welcoming and the nature trails in the back are great to walk on and destress. The advisors in the financial aid building are very informative and help the students understand financial aid and other college education things. Thank you for a great college experience!

This place is awesome. I had so much fun and quality time here, making new friends, and getting my degree in computer science. I liked it a lot!

Many of the professors at OCC are horrendous. As well as that, many workers in certain departments are rude and unhelpful. I highly suggest being a student worker on campus.

I have been on hold trying to reach someone in financial aid for 1 hour and 16 minutes and counting (for what is going to be a 2 second question).. it is IMPOSSIBLE to reach anybody, but every time I walk into the office there are two people sitting at the desk talking to one another, not the phone calls coming in. At this point, I am going to have to drive all the way up to campus JUST to get an answer (since that will clearly be quicker than calling?!Thats insane. Very discouraging, irritating, and unprofessional. Not too mention that when you do appear in person to address your concerns, or ask some questions, the people who work there are RUDE and act so irritated by your presence. Hire more people to work in your financial aid department PLEASE.

Not diverse at all in students and professors at Kean Ocean. Very uncomfortable when it comes to class discussions that touch on cultural / ethnic backgrounds and political view points. Prefer Kean Union main campus.

I have been coming to occ for three years now and there have been amazing steps taken in the right direction. Only problem I have is with the bookstore, it is great that the lines aren’t long anymore however they run out gen ed books for weeks, some staff is rude, some are helpful. Specifically, they ran out of college algebra books by the first day of class starting, very irritating because by the time I got the book I was behind in my class by an entire week. Aren’t there registration lists that says how many students are expected to take the class? I feel as though it was a situation that could have been easily avoided. Not to mention outrageous prices.

Graduated from this place. People always refer to close county colleges as High school part 2 or some such description...but the strides OCC has made over the years is phenomenal. They are affiliated with Kean and at my graduation, they announced that theyll also be affiliated with NJIT! That is incredibly huge....especially when you consider the rate of their job placement. Its looking up for OCC~

I went to school here and now my son does,good place to get your feet on the ground,clean,nice profs,its a county college,priced great,this college is now expanding and offering more great classes and experiences,this is definitely a good place to go,Im even thinking about going back,,good job here👍🤩

Unbelievable. The people that work in the registration office are truly miserable. Condescending, sarcastic, and rude. Lady at the front desk (Claudette, Claudine?has a major attitude and her nails are too long to type with. Went in twice last week to complete a chargeback packet and was appalled at the way students were spoken to. While I was being helped, I could hear another woman from a nearby cubicle speaking to what sounded like a potential student over the phone in a really patronizing tone (something like, “I told you this already, you need to register for CHEM ONE OH ONE.” Punctuating the last few words loudly and firmly.). I understand working at a community college must be frustrating at times, but there is no need to take out that frustration on the people that are PAYING MONEY to attend their school. Thank god I’m a Brookdale student, because I would never give my money to that place if that’s the way they treat people. No one forced these women to take jobs there, so if they don’t like what they do, they should pursue different professions. My sister went there for one semester and actually warned me about the registration office before I went, but I didn’t believe her til I actually got there and experienced it for myself. I can’t speak for the school itself since I’m not a student, but I will say that they should hire more professional individuals because first impressions are everything. Based on what I’ve seen and experienced, I would rather pay out of county tuition than to set foot in this school ever again.

OCC now charges you for your books automatically forcing you to spend the extra money even if the professor does not utalize

Ocean county College is a great place to gain college credits for a fraction of the cost. Each class works out to be about $500, very reasonable in todays ever growing higher education costs.

OCC gave me what I needed to continue with furthering my education. Registration has always been mostly easy, except for some of the advisors who gave me completely wrong information. Luckily, it didnt put me behind schedule at all and Ill be graduating this year. I saved so much money by taking advantage of the NJ STARS program. If youre eligible, definitely do it!

Most of their teachers are awful. Theyre unprofessional and take forever to get back to you. Very frustrating place.

They work very slow. Staff is rude. Teachers have no empathy. Loan money doesnt come fast. all in all. I woulndnt even give a 1 star.

Ugh...where do I begin? Since its inception, OCC has been somewhat of a joke ("Hooper High"). But now, the joke is not funny anymore. What was a reasonable alternative to a 4-year college has dwindled into this sad mess of a school. I know because I was both a student and a worker here.Theres very little sense of a community or social life. You go to class, sometimes see a few familiar faces, but thats pretty much it. I felt middle school had a stronger rapport. Protip: youll make more friends at your job than you will here.Online classes are a joke. Theyre either PAINFULLY easy, or theyre notoriously HARD with unhelpful professors who ignore your emails. Online classes also have these additional "technology" fees that go into the higher ups pockets that run this place. Online classes are basically a way to make money and thats it. I mean, cmon, they have Public Speaking online. (really?Whatever you do, dont take an online class.Morale is low from the workers. Many people, including some high-ranking workers, have jumped ship to safer shores. (Hey OCC! Worried about declining enrollment? Do something about morale.Many professors are forced by their bosses to use books that are expensive and unhelpful. I can only imagine who gets a cut of that. Theyre basically treated like children, having to do unnecessary work such as going to meetings or becoming online attendance administrators. Granted theyre part-time, but Adjunct Professors make around $8 to $12k per year. How good (motivatedcan an adjunct be if they make less than a server at a restaurant? Keep in mind that the overwhelming majority of professors here are adjuncts.Yet, college today is too expensive to not go to community first. Hence relatively low tuition=two stars. Make the most of it and challenge yourself so that youll actually be prepared once you transfer. Otherwise, youre wasting your time and money by going to this school.

I am an e learning student and I am in my last semester. I graduate in May 2016. I started here years ago when I first had my daughter and I only had 4 classes to graduate. So this semester Im doing it. I have to at the staff and all of my professors have been really awesome. Id totally recommend this school, years ago I was going on campus but now I have three kids so e learning was the only possibility and I love it. Im graduating with a liberal arts degree. Thanks OCC I MADE IT❤️😍

Ocean County college staff needs to work on their customer service skills...if we are paying to go here you should at least be nice and helpful

I have to admit I have a mixed experience here. I started 2 years ago and everything was fine. Last year the financial aid office accidentally exposed my social security number to the public by stapling it to the back of a flyer along with 20 other people. The distance learning staff is very helpful. However the bookstore is absolutely atrocious and does not fulfill orders for distance learning in time for the start of the semester. This has been the case for my spring 2015 term. Given my extreme difficulties in the past, including having to sign up for life lock security and identity theft protection which was provided to me by the school, I feel that it is no longer a proper fit for my education needs. I feel that the program has so much potential because the Dean is very helpful as are many of the academic advisors and financial aid for distance learning. But some of the shortfalls and some of the lack of professionalism from other employees has led me to make the decision to continue my degree at a nother New Jersey online community college. While I do recommend this school for people trying to major in Sociology or substance abuse counseling I cannot with a clear conscience recommend this to anybody who is going online only I cannot say the same for on campus As I am distance learning. Thank You OCC. while I appreciate everything I have learned I will not be finishing my degree here and recommended that everyone check out all community college online programs before meeting a decision. Also never buy your books through the OCC bookstore I have had nothing but bad experiences with them. School is 10 out of 10 for cost of attendance. Review coming from student who has been going for years.

At OCC you have to fight for whats yours and whats right. For example Financial Aid. They work very slow there, therefore dont be afraid to raise your voice and tell them to do their job. It helped me in getting my aid quick. Also, proffesors are either assholes but there are the ones that love teaching. My advice for you is to do more. By that I mean write more then asked, always be early to class, stay after class to talk to the proffesor that way hell see you are involved. Well good luckkk everyone !!!

I was accepted into the nursing program and failed after one semester and thousands of dollars to show nothing for it. I could have continued, but refused. They dont give a ratz a..........s if you pass or fail in the nursing department. I had no idea, no clue, whatsoever about nursing. I was under the impression that a college is suppose to teach you the stuff. Not here!. I sat in my bedroom for four months teaching myself the information. The professor I had sucked! He was an arrogant idiot who thought he was real funny. Hed show up and play nursing games and throw some power point presentations up on a screen and then he was out the door. It was a joke! A person with no knowledge of nursing should not even attempt this program; it is way to accelerated, even for someone who is pretty intelligent. Go to Georgian Court or an accredited college and get the right education. Stay far away from OCC with nursing. The rest of the school was pretty decent. I took alot of pre-requiste classes which were great and affordable! The professors were cool and pretty nice. Just stay far away from the ladies in the nursing department administration office, they are WICKED! The ladies in admissions are old and cranky too and there just for the money, but not as nasty and evil as those witches in the office in the nursing building. Hey, just being honest!!!!!!!!!!

Mostly adjunct professors who are either unprofessional, non-English speakers and cut classes, or both.Most professors, not all, but a majority shave about 15 minutes off each class; which can lead to about 4-5 more classes that I am paying for.Stay away from Kean-Ocean as well. Its up to you to take this and do what you want, but I would not recommend this place to a dog.Parking is atrocious. People walk in front of your vehicle while texting and spit everywhere like camels.Need I say more?

First year at this college and Im already having an issue. Today is the first day of school and it seems to me that the entire college phone system is shut down. I live forty minutes away from the school, so I wanted to ask a few questions before going there to get things done (student ID, buying books, etc.). Now I find that the operator, book store and financial aid office will not take any calls at all. I understand that they must be extremely busy, but they must understand that students and parents may have questions, especially the first year students. What bothers me the most is that, youre not even given the option to leave a message.
