Ole' English Inn in Tuscaloosa County
Very nice gem. Professional saffron quite area. Room was very clean sheets clean pillows nice. No complaints. Game was good. Guy at desk was nice. Huey made us want to return to the Old English Hotel
MoreBooked a room for one of my workers. After traveling to the hotel they refused the reservation. Would not waste my time with this place.
MoreI can not in good conscience give it a star, but I had to in order to post this review. Was a nightmare. It was getting late we were tired so we stopped there and got a room. Where to begin, tv did not work, phone wasn’t even plugged into the wall, have no idea if it even worked. Huge hole in bedspread. It was a double bed so went to get in the other one and the bed and sheets were so dirty that it looked like dirty shoe prints all over. Pulled back sheets to the other bed with the hole and was a discolored stain on side of sheet. Curtains were worn out. Room was actually terrifying. Walking barefoot in this room was NOT going to happen. Loud people starting a vehicle and shouting at 3 am. Would never recommend.
MoreIt was late at night, I did not k ow the area. The lady at the desk would not do a partial payment and she was ugly I spoke to a man on the phone an he was great. She was rude. Room was OK. Just a older hotel bed was great though.
MoreThe microwave was BROKE. Cable TV went out. They played loud music until 4AM. Had a shoot out at the hotel by our room door. The lady insinuated that it was our failt... I mind you are new in town and DONT know NOBODY!!! Toilet overflowed and the lady of the hour told me to clean it UP!!! YES.. THIS WAS THE STRAW THAT BROKE THE CAMELS BACK!! THE PRICE MIGHT BE GOOD BUT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS POOR AS ...RUN AND DONT LOOK BACK.
MoreIm rating it 2 instead of 1 because the price was much cheaper than others on game day and we were allowed to check in a couple of hours early. Now the bad.The A/C is either arctic blast or heat wave. The unit in our room (118had no cover over it, making it blast even more. Everything in the room was dated, needed new paint, or a serious deep cleaning. I refused to take a shower in the bathroom because it was that bad. Everything also had a really bad musty smell. Now to the major issue we had. We checked in early (as stated aboveso we wouldnt have a problem when we got back after the Alabama football game. The key that had worked earlier did not work when we got back. Theres no emergency phone number for the front desk or a buzzer on the door or anything else. We literally spent an hour in the parking lot (long after midnighttrying to get somebody to answer the phone or door so we could get into the room wed paid for. Had our stuff not been put in there hours earlier we probably wouldve just left. My husband had to pound on the door and window of the nearest room to the office in hopes of it being the one used by the owner. Thankfully it was and she provided a new key that actually worked. By then it was LONG after 1 in the morning. What motel or hotel doesnt have an emergency phone number? Or even a buzzer on the locked office door? To say we were furious is an understatement. We were tired and just wanted to go to bed. No clue on why the key didnt work when it had before.I wont even get started on the people in the parking lot who pounced the minute I walked out first thing the next morning wanting me to take them somewhere. So, obviously not the most secure parking lot in the area.
