Great service but food could be better. A bit too oily and spicy for my liking

Not one to write a review unless I rate something in the 4.99 star range, I finally found the caterer who qualifies for a pat on the back. In fact, I feel it would be an injustice if I dont leave a review here. On a friends reference, I ordered lunch at Omkar Foods for my party, but with great trepidation about the quality as it is getting increasingly difficult to get good food, especially authentic South Indian vegetarian fare in the metro Atlanta area. But after being served by this caterer, I have to say that my experience was nothing less than phenomenal...right from promptness of promised delivery time to requested spiciness to authentic andhra cuisine to pricing it was 5++ out of 5 stars. Great service and absolutely delicious just like what your mother makes at home. Dont forget to tell the owner the level of spice you want though.Try it...you will be pleasantly surprised.

Was not able to eat here because there were no vegan options, but they were very polite and let me down gently that they do at least have dairy in all of their vegetarian options.

Haphazard in nature. Functions at will with no updates on website about closure or opening. Folks behind the phone don’t understand English. Food served most of the times contains excessive salt and spice. Most importantly, there is no central air conditioning. I have personal visited this place many times trusting the website time and sometimes I find a pleasant elderly lady who had personally told me ‘Chandu is busy with catering today and no in place dine in today’. This was around the start of summer. Been there many times trusting website timings. Southern Guntur style of cooking with high salt and spice with next day morning side affects. Hence my review. Apart from that I understand that Ganesh temple is the main attraction there (which is well air conditionedby the way and this business could be a hobby with severe understaffed head count.Reply to owner:I have had Lemon rice, idli vada for $7 each and also tasted the thali ($12at your place. So you blind rage and anger about a low review shows your character. The whole world can see the amount of divinity in you , how much you value the concept of ‘Athithi Devo Bhava’. Speaking the truth is not hate speech. You have nothing relevant to say that you are trying to justify an incident that happened at Patel Brothers without any idea about it. Age is no guarantee for wisdom and maturity. Please learn some etiquettes about how to talk to a customer and apologizing for your downsides won’t hurt!

Too much spice in the food ($12 thaliwhich burned by stomach and genitals! Also, no air conditioning at the place! Not a place which I will visit again.Reply to owner:My spouse is Indian and I have visited your restaurant many times at the start of summer. I have also cooked south Indian food at home and I am aware of the spice level. Please refrain from making ignorant racial comments without any basis about customers based on your prejudices. Accept feedback in a positive/constructive way. I haven’t seen people associated with a religious entity reply back this way to any customer.

Used their catering services for the party, fresh and tasty food delivered hot. Portions are very generous. Guests enjoyed the food.

Food was excellent. Quantity were perfect and so were the spice levels as we requested. We also had dietary restrictions which they met. Not to forget the good customer service by Mr. Chandu. Many of our guests wanted the information about this catering service. We will definitely go to them for our future catering needs.

We ordered food for 300 People for my daughters dance on Aug 6th 22 and the food was so tasty . Everyone loved the food and asked for the vendor. Great work Swamy!

Masala dosa was excellent and coconut chutney with the peanut it was out of this world.

I really like this place a lot. Staff was super friendly and the food was on point. Some of the best south Indian food I’ve had in georgia honestly and it taste all home made. If you’re ever craving some vegetarian food this is definitely the place to be. Also has some very reasonable prices for what you get. Will definitely be coming back

The BEST dosas Ive had in Georgia, and Ive had them all. Sambar was a tiny bit too thick but overall 9.5 / 10. They deserve a lot more good business.

First things first: I love the empathetic service oriented and homely feeling created by the elderly woman - it was like visiting your home back in India in Atlanta for me.When I presented my dietary restrictions she understood them perfectly and delivered the food (a thalimeeting my needs. She even asked me to come regularly there if my dietary needs are not met else where. I appreciate this behavior of understanding customer needs. She was not trying to exploit the situation as she was ready to lower the price a bit.The place is next to Ganesh Temple. Entrance sign may say Jai Hind. Mostly home made items are offered with same home made taste and atmosphere. Recommend if you are looking for such simple experience without any expectations. Food is tasty and quantities are enough. Side dishes need little improvement though.

Excellent food. No-frills vibe.We ordered the Tava Idly and the Veg Upma. Both were good, especially the Tave Idly!

My friends, relatives and I totally love the food. Everyone complimented that food was great!!! Vada with onions, Sambar rice, poornalu, even the chutneys and sambar were amazingly good. Delivery was on time and perfectly packed. Quantity of half tray is like 3/4th of full tray. Excellent service and recommendations. I’ve already passed on the number to few friends from the party who asked where I ordered the food from. I think this is the first party where I did not have to throw food away after the party.

Everything we ordered was delicious. Yogurt Rice and Sambhar rice was the best I have had in Atlanta area. Pleasant surprise to see yogurt rice seasoned with Cashews. Service was excellent and was touched by the customer service when the restaurant manager insisted on bringing the food to my car as it was raining heavily.

Awesome food !! We catered from this place for my sons thread ceremony and all the items were delicious. It was done in a traditional way. Jalebi was awesome. Even though the quantity was more, people agreed to take it home because of the taste !!

Chandrasekhar has given great services and the food prepared was very tasty and loved by all our friends during Diwali festival. I would always recommend Omkar foods for any occasions. Chandu keep doing the great work.
