One of my all time favorite little shops, charming in every way! Everytime I visit they have new and unique treasures from books to jewelry, home decor, (friendly shop cats!🐈‍⬛),and so much more- ran by the kindest ladies you’ll ever meet. Any day you visit the Paper Moon is a good day!

OMG! Where to begin! Three levels of absolutely beautifully curated books and assorted gifts and sundries that you will want to buy and take home. Sooo many unique books, games, and snarky gifts! This place is a readers dream! (And teachers! And librarians! And kids! And the kid-at-heart!Superb staff with great suggestions will make your day. Definitely check out every nook and cranny. Just a delightful store that will remind you why you love books of all kinds!

This little store is very unique. With all kinds of everthing from cooking to decorations to kids stuff. All the diversity in books that you could possible ever find in one place. The Paper Moon is a definite must stop and shop location. One couldnt possibly describe everything this place holds inside in one review so Just stop in and check it out for yourself.

You have got to go to this store. They have something for everybody and the ladies running it are so lovely. I was there for a girlfriend trip this spring. We found so many cools things not to mention the help I got picking out books for my family and classroom.

I’ve been driving through McGregor for years and finally stopped at this bookstore on a friend’s recommendation. I was blown away by the three floors of amazing finds and super accommodating owner! Jen’s bookstore is a treasure to behold, not just in merchandise but energetically as well. I left with exceptional finds and a very happy heart. I now pass the recommendation on to you, dear reader. You won’t be disappointed!

I have always enjoyed my time in this store, and especially enjoy the huge children section now that I have daughters of my own.I recently made an online order for the first time and received my order in the mail the very next day! Very pleased with every aspect of this beautiful business!

Its wonderful that a town the size of McGregor has an independent book & gift store of the highest quality like "Paper Moon." One finds books from classics to those that are hot-off-the-press. And the variety of high-quality gifts make it hard to walk out without buying something.

The most friendly and interesting store in McGregor! We drive there just to shop this store and never leave empty handed. Interesting cook books, crazy and wacky cards and gifts, toys, household items you won’t easily find elsewhere. Imaginative ephemera of the utmost creativity and did I say friendly. The owner and her mother are a treat to meet. It is a real gem that McGregor should be proud to have in residence.

The coolest book shop around those parts... hell in Iowa! We love their reading selections, art, cats, decor, soaps, and humor. Beautiful store run by amazing women!

Very neat store with a variety of items for sale. The staff were extremely welcoming. The first floor has a variety of unique items, the second floor is full of books both new and used, and the top floor has items for babies to teens including books, stuffed animals, etc.

We go here every year, its my happy place. They sell things like soap, cards, lots of very interesting books for adults and plenty for kids on the top floor. And even antiques.I have been going to this store once a year for 11 years now. LOVE IT AND THE OWNERS!!💋

Absolutely LOVE Paper Moon! A must stop anytime youre near McGregor. Owners are extremely friendly and polite. Lots of wonderful books (kid and adult alike), toys, antiques, and neat little things that make your mouth say "I need that". Its got something for every type of "strange" be it cat lovers, dog lovers, sock people, or vintage print lovers. For cat people the live in cat makes the store extra sweet. Three floors with something for everyone. We live almost 4 hours away and make it a point to stop everytime were near. You wont be disappointed!!! Happy shopping!

I love this store and try to stop by every time Im in the area. Its full of fun stuff for everyone - books, unique toys for kids, framed prints, puzzles, soaps, funky jewelry, stickers, and more. I made my first online order this week and loved everything so much that I immediately made a second order for more gifts. Keep up the great work, ladies!

Amazing place!! Weve always loved this place, but with the pandemic, theyve upped their game with a tremendous selection of books dealing with racial equity, masks and hand sanitizer at the door, along with the positive attitude (that is always there). They offer curbside pick up as well, if you arent feeling like going out! Just a great independent bookstore, tucked in along the beautiful Mississippi River!

This is the only place in McGregor that you can go for a warm and inviting shopping experience. Through the years I have walked through many times and its always a good time. No matter how much time passes its always just as friendly and just as warm as the last visit. And remember to be prepared to laugh. Lots of fun stuff in that place. :)

Theres a little bit of everything, from cookbooks to artwork to doormats, with cards and tchotchkes thrown in. Lots of beautiful nooks and crannies that are cozy, but not cluttered.

A wonderful experience for the entire family! Ton of fun niknaks books. Items range from country-style soaps and lotions, to childrens books and toys. Very niche and inviting. We had a great time looking through the items comparing our finds. The entire second level is lined with cookbooks and fiction and non-fiction. They also have a little selection of occult and Wiccan texts. The top floor is where they have all the childrens wares. A great selection for nostalgic adults and children.

My family and I absolutely LOVED visiting the Paper Moon. Adorable shop with many types of gift items, and amazing books. If you are ever in the area, make sure you stop by!

Really cute gift store with something for everyone! Loved the blind date with a book which had a wrapped book but told a brief summary of what you were buying. Lots of puppets and kids books! The owner was friendly and helpful. Definitely a go out of your way to see if remotely close to McGregor!
