Love this store! The girls in Petcare are great and hold so much knowledge however, my only concern would be the bettas I wish the company would make sure they were in a better environment than a little cup.
Staff nice but some of these aisles need some loooove
The grooming salon is great! My dog can be dog-reactive, and the groomers have always been very accommodating for us (including taking us as a walk-in appointment near closing time, or when its typically less busy in the store). Her nails always come out looking great and were usually in/out of the store quickly.
Friendly staff, all the stuff you want to keep your best friends happy!
Petsmart has what you need when the others are out of stock.
Lots of choices for everything. Regular prices are high. There is a Banfield Vet inside.
Excellent inventory of domestic pet food & supplies. The kittens & cats for adoption an additional bonus for this splendid store.
Customer service is super disappointing, I was making my purchase when another guest came up next to me and started talking to the cashier.. instead of continuing to finish my order, the cashier decided to have a full conversation with the woman who was not in line, just standing there speaking to them. It was completely rude, the cashier took my money and put in the wrong amount because they were talking to the other lady, not paying attention to the person standing in front of them. The cashier didn’t even make eye contact with me and then sent me on my way without a “have a good day” or any other comment.
My foster kitten came here after she was vaccinated and spayed... she got adopted in one day!
Walked in and was able to find what I was looking for, service was great the atmosphere was fresh and clean. Great place to take your fur babies. All the animals look happy, please adopt.
My cashier was very friendly and had a positive attitude!
It was ok, long lines though. The one in Oxnard has a more accommodating staff.
I adopted a kitten at PetSmart for the first time ten days ago, and had kind of a mixed experience. My kitten is so cute and sweet, and I absolutely love him. Lots of kittens to choose from. Already neutered. Paperwork was straightforward. All the gear we needed, and in cute colors and styles. However, he was $150. I adopted my other cat from a shelter and she was basically free, so I was expecting something around $75…not $150.He was covered in fleas. Like…COVERED in fleas. I bought a flea brush and brushed out 22 fleas just the first night, and still ended up seeing tons on him the next day. PetSmart doesn’t treat them for fleas prior to adoption, and you’re still paying the full $40 for CapStar pills once you notice all of those fleas!Too, they give you a free vet visit for Paw Works, but the appointments are few and far between. The earliest one available for me was 10 days out (not ideal, wanted to get him his vet visit asap). If you’re cool with the adoption price and the knowledge that they won’t give your kitten any flea treatment prior to adoption, I would still recommend them…but overall, my experience at the shelter was more clean/stress-free/inexpensive
Had a very bad experience with the groomers. I was even threatened that if I wrote a bad review I would be banned from bringing my dog. No worries there! No coming back. This place is terrible. And the receptionist is rude! If you love your fur babies, don’t bring them here.
The groomer did a wonderful job on my Holly. Great experience for my girl. I could not be happier and highly recommend PetSmart Grooming!
I will always recommend this store, Ashley was my dogs trainer, excellent work. Also the service from the personnel is excellent!
This store needs attention. Bad smell and dirty looking. They have different prices for the same product. Is it going out of business?.
Betta fish in terrible condition. Sick ones, dead ones, most with dirty containers. Tanks of the other fish didn’t look very clean either.
Good place to get dog food. Largecselection for pets.
Friendly staff is always a plus. My go to place to try new flavors or brands for my finicky crew of cats. Certified Card Carrying Crazy Cat Lady.
Wasnt there for myself but they were very nice and helpful, store was empty except for like 2 people and one guy one something 😬 walking around staring and freaking out haha
They have the best selection of dog food and its laid out so its easy to see all the options. Found a food doggies love and thats a major accomplishment!
We found everything that we were looking for. except 1 large bag of dog food. An employee called the PetSmart in Oxnard and found what we wanted. Our Great Dane is very fussy about what she eats.
Sierah did a great job with my Maltese. Petco always cut all his hair off when I asked for a trim… but not Sierah at PetSmart! She knew exactly what I was looking for and she made my little guy beautiful!
Great prices and short line once cashier sees a line building he or she calls for backup so there really is never a long line. Not to mention most employees know what they are talking about.
I like this petsmart location. The employees are always nice and ready to help. They have a good stock of items as well
Took our dog to be groomed. Service was quick, as he did have any winter coat to brush out. He was returned to me happy, clean and shiny!
Great grooming experience! This was my first time at this location and from now on will be my only. Mary did an amazing job! My German Shepherd went in shedding like crazy, dirty and smelly and came out so fresh and clean! No shedding and no crazy hair; he was freshly scented and had a beautiful coat! I highly recommend here. All the employees were nice and helpful (I needed an adjustment on the pricing because I was rebooked and the lady in the salon couldnt adjust it, so the manager helped out with that). Great experience all around! Definitely recommend coming here for your fur babies!
Good store with friendly staff. Many products out of stock (likely not the stores fault these days). Got most of what we needed.
Great store for cats and dogs and for aquarium supplies. Aquariums could use a bit better care. and attention.Lots of aquarium supplies, yet few actual aquariums. Lots of glass terrariums that might work, buy are labeled for terrariums (so uncertain about whether they will hold or leak if filled with water. They dont seem to carry any reptiles/ snakes, so seems a bit unbalanced as far as products/pets ratio. They do have a good sized variety pet shop fish/Aquarium department. Lotsa pumps, filters, decorations, shy/nocturnal fish hideaways, lights, tank covers, air pumps, filters, thermometers, heaters, water conditioners, food, etc. for your aquarium pets. And, as usual, they have some beautiful cats and kittens up for adoption on the weekends, an awesome variety of pet supplies for cats and dogs, and their puppy school, the Banfield veterinarian facility and the grooming facility too!A great store/fscility for cats, dogs & beginner/ amateur aquarium fish and accesories. The store was very busy on Sunday.Dogs and cats on a leashes are welcome there, and many dogs brought their well-mannered humans the day I visited. They seem to have their humans trained very well.Nice store!
So I went to two different PetSmarts... Never been to pet smart. My sons decisions of buying certain fish were crushed when associate. Starts asking you 21 questions like 50 cent. So my son wanted Angel fish and was denied because the tank was too small... So if anybody want fish, dog, cat etc.... You are going to have to lie to get the pet you want!!!!! So we had to settle with Beta fish..... How lame your decisions not welcome by PetSmarts standards......
Great friendly place to get what you need
I just wanna say that the customer service here is amazing. I was helped by a lady with green hair I think, I think her name was Angelika. She was so friendly and she helped me find exactly what I needed from the store, she was super polite and helpful and also respectful. She exactly where everything was and was fast, knows a lot about cats! Thank you angelika! I think that’s her name I’m pretty sure it is lol!
I loved this store. I usually go to Petco but I was in the area and decided to go here. Not only is the selection of dog toys, leashes, collars and treats better but the price difference is amazing. When I walked out I had to check my receipt to see if she really charged me for everything. I dont have fish anymore but I used to. Their selection is very nice and their tanks look clean. I could go on and on about this store but I think you get it.Sorry Petco but Petsmart has my business now.
Im putting this place at a one star due to the fact of the incompetence and lack of staffing specially for a weekend. No one knows what there talking about when it comes product or recommendations. The only saving grace was with the lovely experience i had with a representative there named sabrina, she seemed to be the only person working there and doing everyones job for them.I give credit where credit is due and she deserves a standing ovation. Management needs to get there act together or this store is going to fall apart, more then it already is.
Adorable pets, amazing products, and dependable services. These are the offerings of this pet shop, and Im happy that I made the right choice to come here. It was them that provided me with the shampoo that I needed for my pet, and Im thankful because I was able to get it at a fair price. A truly beneficial service that I will surely recommend to everyone else!
We adopted a puppy “Divot” this summer and purchased the 3 training session package (18 weeks totaland we LOVE Ashley our trainer, her dog Flower, and all her advice from food to shampoo/ conditioner to tricks and more. We are looking forward to her influence in Divot’s life for many more weeks to come.
Great grooming salon. Love the groomers here. The groomer we had did a great job with our dog. The staff is friendly. The store is clean. Here is more information about this particular PetSmart store.Chain featuring a range of pets, supplies & food (most offer grooming, boarding & other services).In-store shopping· Curbside pickupAddress: 4840 Telephone Rd, Ventura, CA 93003Hours:Tuesday 9AM–9PMWednesday 9AM–9PMThursday 9AM–9PMFriday 9AM–9PMSaturday 9AM–9PMSunday 10AM–7PMMonday 9AM–9PMPetSmart is a privately held American chain of pet superstores, which sell pet products, services, and small pets. It is the leading North American pet company, and its direct competitor is Petco.[3] Its indirect competitors are Amazon, Walmart, and Target.[4] As of 2020, PetSmart has more than 1,650 stores in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.[1] Its stores sell pet food, pet supplies, pet accessories, and small pets. Stores also provide services including grooming, dog daycare, dog and cat boarding, veterinary care via in-store third-party clinics, and dog training. They also offer dog and cat adoption via in-store adoption centers facilitated by the nonprofit PetSmart Charities.Founded in 1986 by Jim and Janice Dougherty, the company opened its first two stores in 1987 in Phoenix, Arizona under the name PetFood Warehouse, as warehouse-type stores that sold pet food in bulk at discount prices. Under new leadership the company changed its name to PETsMART in 1989 and, along with expanding around the country, began a longterm shift away from visually unappealing discount warehouse stores to attractive stores that sold pet food and supplies and offered services such as grooming, adoption events, and vet visits. The company went public via an IPO in 1993, and therafter increased its nationwide expansion and the types of goods and services it offered. Via its nonprofit PETsMART Charities (now PetSmart Charities), it offered in-store dog and cat adoptions in lieu of selling dogs or cats, in order to combat the number of dogs and cats that are euthanized each year.
Partied till the crashed in their new penthouse suite complements of PetSmart Ventura
Its got the super specific brand of limited ingredients dog food that one of my dogs can only you eat... So thats good. Lets see -- what else? Its close by. Wish they had more variety in their raw foods selection, venison or bison or lamb (not mixed with beef or chicken).
We recently decided to stock our small pond with a few dozen goldfish for aesthetics and mosquito prevention so we stopped by PetSmart. To our dismay the aquarium section was very poorly maintained. The goldfish tanks were dirty with dozens of dead fish floating near the bottom. Even poor staffing due to Covid 19 would not excuse the lack of care here. We immediately went to the other pet store chain a short distance away and purchased our fish from a clean and well maintained aquarium section.
Petsmart employees have always been attentive and helpful. Theyre staying consistent through the pandemic. I have also used their online/pick up system and theyre service is great! Just pull up, call, and open your trunk.
Went in to get a gift for my dogs 2nd birthday. Staff were very helpful in finding a suitable bone for his preferences. Some prices are great, but be sure to check online retailers to compare.
Its a great place to find pet stuff you need, however if youre looking for advice on how to care for pets like fish Ive never had a good experience with their advice. They said 1-2 gallons are fine for betas when everywhere else says 5 gallons, which is highly unethical. Really recommend to do your own research before shopping, and ask Google if you want a fulfilling life for your fish friends!
Always dog-friendly, great place to take puppy for acclimation and cat-gazing. Reasonable pricing, helpful staff, lots of choices for toys and treats AND, Ms. Doobs loves checking out the hamsters. No nose to the glass stuff, just a glance from afar. Ive little doubt shes dreaming of hamster-cookies as opposed to sugarplums right now, but thats dog-appropriate. She loves the smells, go figure.
I do like Pet smart. Got the one and only flea collar there. I used it for Poor BB, family little dog. Peppermint smell a little over whelming. So I would have to take it off because I felt so it was too much for her. I ended up using several flea combs and manually killing the fleas. It was a total devotion of 💘 LOVE BB is flea free clean now. I do check on her and brush her. I think she likes the combing. Happy Holidays! 10.00
Well stocked store filled with just about anything you could want for your pets. Bright, clean and staffed with friendly people. They do good work for adoptions of cats & dogs. Parking is great, too.
The staff was super helpful and knowledgeable in fish care. The store is very well organized and clean. They have quite the wide variety of supplies and seem to treat their animals decently. The was plenty on parking around and the store itself was not overly busy while I was there.
Good Pet Store.. The fish selection is great and well cared for. They adopt out Kittens and Cats. The employees are helpful and friendly. Prices are average to high.
Normally come here for kitty stuff but we just got a new puppy, so we came here & got everything we needed. Good clean bathrooms, thank you.
