Pita House in Suffolk County

A real authentic Turkish restaurant in Long Island is hard to find, nonetheless, a good one! I would definitely suggest coming here for some good kebab, or even just their appetizers. The owner was very welcoming and warm to us. We don’t even live near the place, and I definitely will be back!

Online price and dine in price is totally different… food was not good at all .. if you dont care about good food you can go there..this is my edited review because i got the reply which says i get service by sitting inside.. i get that .. for that u charged me servvice charge.. i ordered assorted kebabs which is online 27 dollar and dine in is 46.. dont tell me because i get heat and free water u will charge me extra .. u cheap … every restuarant serves free water.. are u kiddin me!!! Then theres the fake pictures of the restuarants in google.. now dont tell me those pictures u put are real.. because the sitting area is totally different… liar…

Outstanding service. The owner runs his operation with the greatest care and consideration. Chicken kebab meal tasted as good as the meals Ive had on deployment in the middle east too.

This place is INCREDIBLE. The food is out of this world, the restaurant itself is gorgeous, clean and inviting both inside and out. Each dish went beyond my expectations and the Owner really goes above and beyond to make your dining experience an exceptional one. 10/10 would recommend to anybody!

We shared a bottle of wine and had four different appetizers. The food was exceptional. The Zucchini Fritters were amazing and melted in your mouth. The Turkish cigars - both Feta and Pastrami - were delicious and very fresh. The dough was clearly homemade. We also had mini lamb pizzas with fresh tomatoes and red onions. We can not say enough about how good this food was. Very friendly owner and wait staff made for a perfect meal.

Good food with Mediterranean spices the stuffed kubba with meat and spices is the best we had we had the shepherd salad and warm pita with it and some other appetisers and lamb pizza ‏

We had yet another amazing dinning experience at the Pita House in Medford. We do eat here often and have done so for over 25 years in two of their locations. We joined our dear friend tonite and she was thrilled with her meal and the delicious adult beverage. We have never had a sub par experience here. The calamari is prefect. Melt in your mouth. I enjoyed my two favorites bulgar rice and hummus with pita and not to forget the best red lentil soup EVER! Thank you Pita House for your consistency and great service.

Absolutely amazing! As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by the owner. He made us feel like we were family. With every bite of the food you could taste the love that went in to it. It’s so fresh and everything is homemade!! I can’t believe we didn’t come here sooner. We used to go to his other location and didn’t realize he moved. We will definitely be back for more!! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!!

Had vegetarian food lentil soup with their Pita bread, bulgur and smoked vegetables. Good taste, friendly service

Everything here is delicious! Homemade and authentic spreads. Love the lahmajun and ezme! Grape leaves are also ridiculous!

This place is one of the best Turkish restaurants on Long Island the food is outstanding the only thing is it’s in Medford the people in Medford don’t deserve this place it should be constantly packed with people I feel it would do better in a different neighborhood I’ve been going to the Pita House for 24 yrs never once was I ever disappointed

I also dont tend to like places where the servers when they come to take orders dont know what they have and cannot explain the dishes. I tend to not like such kind of service. I think its fair.

Food is okay. The appetizers were good. The cheese cigars were crispy and cheesy. The eggplant with sauce was really nice.The iskandar gyro main was not good. I dont recommend it. French fries were bad. I do not think people order fries here often so stick to rice. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The salad was okay. It could be fresher.

Solid stop for some Greek and Turkish classics. I love their Orzo soup and Turkish dumplings. Excellent, friendly service, the owner greets me at my table every time I visit.

This place is amazing, the food is always super fresh and tasty. We cater our family birthdays from it every year!! It has a super nice dining area too, if you feel like eating in!

Years ago, my friend brought me here. I wasn’t sure where it was or what town I was in, I just remember it being terrific. I texted my friend and he gave me the name , pita house.I had the memory of being impressed by the food. Sometimes, your memory will make thing better over time. In this case, my meal today exceeded my memory or expectations.What a great meal, great value and terrific service. I know where I am going for my birthday dinner. I have texted two people already saying they have to come here to eat. I had the gyro sandwich, Turkish coffee and baklava. All fantasia!

Great place to eat some Turkish food. Wait staff is pleasant and efficient, explained everything on the menu that I had questions about. Food is fresh and tasty.Will be back soon.

I got lamb Iskander and wow it was so delicious, meat was tender. We also had chicken kebab and soup. The entire meal was so flavorful. I never really write reviews but this place was amazing

I think Pita House has the best Mediterranean food on the island. I’ve been coming for years and have never been disappointed. I highly recommended the Kunefe! I get it every year for my birthday and I’ve never found it served anywhere else.

We stopped by for dinner on a whim, and found out excellent. Very good turkish cigars, really great lentil soup, and a most pleasant vegetable kebab. I dont live nearby, but if I did, I would be a regular.

Best food Ive ever eaten in my life The grilled chicken so juice with the vegetables and rice.Then we had a grilled branzzino sish kabob so good I usually dont eat fish cuz its smells but this one was so sweet, with fried calamari, salad and orzo soup and the pita bread just Perfect and the Dessert as baklava with ice cream 🤪🤰 just go and try the Boss cooked directly the Fish for us just to be sure that we gonna like it 👏😏

I cant say enough positive things: friendly staff, attentive to needs, clean, fresh and delicious food! The owner even came to the table to ensure I enjoyed my meal.

My friend left a review but he feels like a life risk for it. What kind of guy managing your business account. Btw how come you guy serve burned soup and kept them wait 15 minutes for soup service.he paid $85 without tips but all he got small mix appetizers with a piece of stuffed grape leave(probably its a golden one,dried bad taste meat menu for 2 person and burned soup. I was there before when they had a male waiter and he was so nice and kind. Probably he doesnt work there anymore. He made a good decision to not working this kind of place and mean owner

My husband and I went to the Pita House and once again the food was delicious!!! The tenderness and juiciness of the lamb chops were right on point. Today was the first time we tried the baby lamb chops and it won’t be the last! Super recommended! The atmosphere was friendly, the service was excellent!

The best kebab I ever had! I’m moving to another state and this is my last dinner in New York. I’ll miss the food here.

A great place for fresh and flavorful food. The menu looks interesting - I look forward to returning and trying something new. This first visit, I tried the lamb gyro: the meat and flavor were spectacular! Large serving with a nice presentation. The staff is friendly, too, and engaged me in conversation. I didnt see it on the menu, but they do have Turkish coffee as well as American coffee.

Possibly the best gyro and kebab we have ever had. Fresh vegetables, soft pita, perfectly cooked meat. It was halfway gone before I even had the chance to snap a photo for this review. We will be back!

Had to take my daughter to a party an hour away from the house. My son wasn’t invited so we had 2 hours to kill. Friend in similar situation so after googling restaurant and finding all the great reviews we decided to try it out. From the second we walked we felt like we are at our families home. Spoke to Owner for awhile and received some great suggestions. It was 2 adults and 3 kids under 7. All the food was gone! We had the lamb gyro platter, filet platter and chicken kabob platter. White rice and fries. There was literally nothing left, my son even devoured the tomatoes and mushrooms. Ha. The platters came with soup or salad so we got the lemon chicken soup which was fresh and outstanding. We were there for lunch, going to go back for dinner to try out the lamb chops. Owner is a butcher so you know the meat is fresh. Can’t wait to go back.

My husband and I had the Lahmacun and a meat platter last night. I forgot the name but everything was so good it was worth every penny! Would definitely recommend

Not sure if this a Greek salad or lettuce & Onion salad. I asked for light onion and got the whole onion, I asked for extra cucumbers and got 3 slices. Asked for my chicken on the side and got them smushed into the onion and lettuce salad. When I called Zenora tried to help but they were closing - she told me to call back tomorrow. When I called a disgusting man answered who was barely letting me speak and yelling at me. I believe he was the cook yelling “I’m cooking!” Like ok? So why are you answering the phone - especially rudely. I won’t be back. 3 stars for my previous experience & for Zenoras help.

This restaurant is incredible! My family used to love going when they were in Setauket, so we were so happy to find this location. Everything we ordered was phenomenal! Our waiter Furkan helped us pick out a great selection of dishes and was so friendly. We can’t wait to go back!

I was dropping off a new car for a client of mine and me and a co worker decided to eat here for lunch. So happy we did, the restaurant was busy and non stop for pick up orders. We sat at the bar and ordered our soups chicken lemon and red lentil soup, green salad and main entrees that were chicken gyro and lamb gyro. Wow so good and filling and the price was just right. Amazing customer service and spacious indoor dining room. I’d highly recommend this mediterranean food spot !

Food overall was delicious. Greeting was friendly, food came out extremely quick. Cons were no drink menu was provided, there was a lot of dust on the bench dividers and waiting for the check took a while

Ordinary exterior, Extraordinary interior! Parking was good and the area was well lighted. We were pleasantly greeted and promptly brought to our table. Very clean and spacious setting. We had Pan fried Eggplant with Pita and Fried Calamari for appetizers. They were delicious! We had the Chicken and Lamb Kebab. Very good. The yogurt sauces were especially good. The service was warm and friendly.

Love this restaurant! Been going here since they were at their old location. They’ve moved down the road into the shopping center with Dollar Tree and Island Empanada. The new location is beautiful and much larger.Full bar and great dining area. Food is delicious and fresh, whether it’s dine-in or take out. There’s a great variety of Turkish and Mediterranean dishes. Owner is the friendliest guy, and the service is always great.Pita House is my favorite place for Mediterranean cuisine. You won’t be disappointed!

All the food was fresh and perfectly prepared, and the water had a pleasant, clean taste, which Im oddly particular about. Perfect for a variety of lifestyles, including vegetarian and vegan, since they have a large variety of options to choose from. Prices were reasonable, service, and hospitality was spot on! They have a nice dining area, it was comfortable and relaxed. The holiday decorations were cute, but its the food that really makes this place special. Everything we ate was delightful.

I went to the old location with a friend of mine from Queens and was raving about how awesome the place was and that I havent been there in a couple of years. Imagine how I felt when we pulled into the parking lot and it wasnt there!!! 😳😳😳🥺🥺🥺A quick search revealed that they simply moved to a new location just a little further north on RT 112.Walked in and the food was still wonderful. 2 Anatolian platters, the fried liver appetizer, the baclava, the Turkish coffee. That was a heck of a lunch for 2 big dudes! Joss(the ownercame over and chatted with us... Still the friendly guy I remember. Cant wait to come back again!

Great and very friendly customer service. Owner is very nice and personal and takes time to talk to his customers. Definitely recommend the baklava for dessert! I got the Adana and Lamb Kabob and was delicious

I really enjoyed my dinner at Pita house. Im in town on business and I was looking for some Greek food. I got a Falafel Pita with fries and veggies. The Falafels were great. Im already planning to come back during my next trip. The owner was very nice and hospitable.

Delicious, authentic and fresh Turkish food. Friendly and efficient service, and a fun owner who clearly cares about quality. 6 of us went and loved all the dishes though we ordered too much :really good dessert too. Baklava and kunefe (freshly bakedwere just perfect.

Love the food!! The staff is super nice, the place is clean and has a great atmosphere. Plenty of parking. Highly recommend the Anatolian Special, you get a little bit of EVERYTHING! Add Lamb chops to it as well, you wont regret it!

Stopped here on a whim one night with my husband for a quick dinner. We had heard good things but werent expecting much, we were blown away by the quality of the food, from the soup all the way through dessert. The owner came out to the table to ask how everything was and to ensure we were enjoying our experience. We will definitely recommend this place to friends and will absolutely be going again.

My husband and I dropped in on a week day at lunch time. The place was empty. But at least 3 people came in to pick up take out as were we. We got the chicken and Lamb w/rice tray for 2 with spinach soup and salad. The Lamb was a bit dry but the chicken was seasoned very nicely and was nice and tender. The rice was spicy but not so much that it was inedible. The salad was fresh and tasty. The soup was the best spinach soup I have ever had in my life!!! It was DELICIOUS! Ill go back just for the soup. I did find it a bit pricey. Almost $60 for whats pictured

After being in the same location the Pita House moved to the new location on Route 112 (not far away from the old location). The new place is spacious, the food is as same as the old place with new additional items (I guess now they have a bigger kitchen). Jeff the owner is still friendly and hospitable. Always loved to go the old location and now I love coming in to the new location.My recommendations- Iskender Kebab- Lamb Chops- Lahmacun- Spinach soup- Pistachio Cheesecake (is to die for.)
