Plantation Lakes Golf & Country Club in Sussex County
The service was great and yhe food and drinks delicious!
Great golf course, great shape. Little pricey.
Difficult but fun course!
Challenging course. Well maintained. Nice environment.
My cousin and his fiance decided to have there wedding 💒 here the ceremony was beautiful and this place was spectacular
MoreExcellent course, maintained well, carts with GPS and free driving range prior to your round is a great bonus, staff was very helpful and friendly. Front 9 fun and challenging
MoreGreat layout in great shape!!!! A must play course!!!
7/6/22 Beautifully appointed bar and grill with nice menu selection that is fairly priced. We found the staff to be cordial but seemed to be lacking confidence. We look forward to bringing family and friends back often. We are new residents to the plantation lakes community.7/24/22. We dined with family on a Saturday night. Unfortunately our experience wasn’t all great. We noticed enhanced menu options that where very appealing. A flank steak with chimichurri had no chimichurri on it, the baked potatoes came out already cut and not fresh. A crispy chicken wrap had very little chicken in it.Service was good although the host’s seemed unsure of themselves and lacked a friendly confident greeting/departure.We will return again wishing you the best success.
MoreReally challenging course. Tight landing areas. Greens are super fast with a ton of slope, bumps, etc. Plenty of hazards. Front 9 had lots of nice shade, back nine was very open. Staff were friendly and were coming around with ice and water. Definitely recommend this course and rate was worth it.
MoreMixed feelings on this course. Course is really solid - and reasonable for down the ocean. But its a short course and plays very slowly since each group is on top of the next one. The guys behind us kept giving us grief for slow play...when several of our group are big hitters who could easily hit into the group in front of us. And there wee no rangers to be found to calm these clowns down.
MorePlayed yesterday for the first time. Free practice balls if you are playing and GPS in cart is a plus. Course was fun and challenging. In very good shape and grounds were well kept. Some of the greens are something most of us have never putted on before. Very hilly, just have to play to see. Not bad, just different. One weird thing was instead if the turn being after hole 9 to get food/drink, it was after hole 10.In years past we would play Bear Trap as it was closer to us, but with them trying to price gouge their customers now, decided to try something new and happy we did. This is cheaper, and to be honest just as good, if not better course. Will be back more often!
MoreDo not care about their customers or their property! Went there to play 18 and got all my equipment and phone ruined by the sprinklers that went of IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR PLAY! They refused to help cover the damages even though it is there fault. TRASH ESTABLISHMENT!
MoreWent out golfing with some friends to blow off steam. One was visiting from out of town, one has had a ton of insane family stuff happen recently, and one guy is a beginner. Lets start by saying it costs 100 dollars to golf here. But we wanted to gp out on a nice course and enjoy ourselves. Got to fourth hole and some guy rolls up. Tells us we need to hurry up because the people behind us are complaining. So we rush the hole and dont even finish. Guy then proceeds to watch us like a blockbuster movie until hole 10. At which point the people behind us (only played 9came up and said the guy in the cart told us to hurry for them. That couple was so apologetic for this angry old man. They too, were out for fun and were new to golf. Never said one thing to this random old man. And we NEVER had to rush. So thanks to one of your employees our round was miserable. I live in the neighborhood, and will probably never golf here again. Been out twice in two weeks and the attitudes on some people at this course are appalling. If i do go out here again and ANYONE approaches me about my speed. I will kindly ignore every word they say.
MoreThe food at the Landing was good but some people waited too long for their meal. They served salmon first but the people who had beef or chicken waited at least 15 minutes for their meals. Also dinner rolls were put on the table after the dinners were finished. The salad had very little vegetables, it was mostly lettuce, one little cherry tomatoe and a sliver of cucumber. The meal did not include dessert so our bowling league paid extra for a 2 inch square piece of cake. I dont think The Landing is ready to handle banquets.
MoreThe landing was ill prepared for a large group. The only good thing was the waitress Candi. She worked her tail off without any assistance from the bartender, kitchen, manager or busstaff.
MoreThe worst restaurant service in all of Delaware. We have been here 2 hours and just getting part of our appetizer orders. One round of drinks andThe waitress has no idea what she is doing. Will never return.
MoreIt has a lot of fairways by the side of water. It is well maintained. Several greens has interesting contours.A lot houses and townhouse are on the side of fairways.Jian
MoreCourse was very nice especially for being the off season. However, when we purchased our tee time at 2pm we were never informed that we would have to return the carts to the clubhouse at 5:30pm. The course was busy and we were not able to finish our round which we paid for. Sunset was not until 5:45 and last light was not until 6:15 yet we had to quit at 5:30. I’ve never been told I had to leave a course when it is still light out because they were closing. I’ve played 12 years of competitive golf at the high school, collegiate, and junior pga levels and have never heard of anything like this. If they aren’t going to let people play until dark then they shouldn’t sell tee times when there isn’t enough time to even finish a round before they are going to kick you off the course. The pro shop also closes at 4 and they lock the doors so if you are wanting to even hit any range balls or get any drinks at the turn make sure you’re there before then. The course was nice but was very disappointed that we couldn’t even finish our round when there was 45 minutes of daylight in the day yet.In response to your response to me. We purchased a tee time online that said it was for 18 holes with a cart. The acceptable pace of play that is listed on the carts does not allow for any tee times to be started after 1:00 if cart return is at 5:30. No tee times should be offered after this time if they will not have the option to even finish a round at an acceptable pace.
MoreWent to a Christmas party and our server was excellent. Prompt, kind, and amazing service delivery.Beautiful decor and presentation. Food and drinks were good.
MoreLunch service done at window. Only one person servicing, for those golfers getting food at the turn , you have to wait. I waiting while she serve two ladies sitting in out door area, snd the 2 guys who had not even started their tee time. Bad news for those making the turn. Need more services if this is the only lunch option
MoreVery nice course, back nine has a number of holes where home construction is underway.
MoreBeautiful course. Greens had been aerated recently. Fairways in great shape. Enjoyed the course.
MoreLove the course and the pro shop people but the food service is odd and not accommodating and in most cases not friendly. I come weekly with a group and snack shop isnt always open then when we come off the course and would like food and drink the snack area is closing but he restaurant and bar are not. So sad that such a beautiful place cant get the food and drinks right.
MoreI wish I could give the Landing 5⭐ but there are so many wonderful restaurants in this area & the Landing always seems to fall short! The service is great, their pub food is good, but, the main entries are just OK/Fair. 😒
MoreReally nice course. A must play if you visit the area.
My favorite course to play in Delaware! Super fast greens, well-maintained, high quality practice area. Golf staff is super nice & helpful. Accessible and fun for golfers of all ages and skill levels. Wish I could give it 10 Stars! 🏆⛳️
MoreGreat course in terrific shape. Greens ideal speed. Shot makers course. Enjoyed the round. Will definitely play again!
MoreNewer golf course with great layout wrapping around the newly constructed residential areas. They put a lot of money into this course with cement cart paths and numerous sand bunkers. Rangers were good at checking on you to ensure all is going well. Cart person was timely, meaning she came around often enough to offer swing oil options 🙄😀.
MoreVery enjoyable! Very tight and strategic on the front but much more open on the back. The greens rolled true and were very fast as well as requiring a good read. I can tell that there are going to be too many houses on the course but cest la vie.
MoreReally enjoyed the course. Fairways and greens in great shape. Definitely some course knowledge to be gained by playing it. Would have played some tee shots and approaches diffidently. Overall, most of the course is right in front of you and minimal blind shots. Some very unique greens. Still a lot of housing construction going on and some gravel cart paths in between holes on the back 9 but the course is great.
MoreThis is really a nice golf course first time I have played it only going to get better as it Seasons a little bit back nine the roads are a little rough but will get better course is in great shape
MoreGreens fast and hard. Its hard to keep a good shot landing on green to stay on. Crazy amount of traps and waste bunkers. Course is well kept, cleanSnacks are expensive.
MoreAbsolutely had a blast...got paired with two members Bob n Craig...fantastic guys...shot my low round of the year 72 !!! Gonna be playing with those fellas more often ...cant wait to come back !!!
MoreVery pretty place. The crab dip was amazing. It is a great place to walk around. The drink menu has some neat offerings. Outside seating is abundant and fun. We will be back.
MoreHad an absolutely delicious lunch with a friend. We both had the crabcake sandwich. They were top notch. I would recommend the banana bourbon cake for dessert. Great service and open atmosphere looking out at a beautiful day and scenery. They never disappoint.
MoreBeautiful golf course. The staff are top notch. The front 9 has more holes in the trees and some long par 4s. The back 9 is more wide open, which is usually more forgiving and enjoyable. Challenging for all levels, but players at any level will enjoy themselves.
MoreThis is a great place to eat. The food is delicious, but they pay more attention and are more friendly with their usual customers and not with the newer customers. My husband, son, and I went for Valentines day and the waiter rarely came over to check on us and was spending a lot of time at his other 2 tables who seemed to come to this restaurant a lot.
MoreCourse is OK.Beautiful layout and condition but too many houses around fairway and they still keep building house complexaround course.
MoreBeautiful club house. Golfing. Planned courts for Pickleball. Many new homes. Large and small single homes and 3 story town houses and planned condo apts. This is a large community with 2 pools planned. No sidewalks. Golf carts. Close to shopping. 30 minute drive to the beach maybe longer in the summer due to traffic.
MoreBring your A-game when playing this course because there is a lot of water in play as well as an abundance of sand traps. It is a well laid out course with the back nine holes being relatively new. Fairways are in good shape plus the carts have GPS to help ensure accurate club selection. I just wish I had brought my A-game!!!
MoreGreat design and layout. Makes you think about your shots and hit the correct spots on the greens to score well. Course was in fantastic shape.
MoreThis golf course was awesome. The fairways were in great shape, and the greens were amazing. The back nine were fast and hard, due to nothing around the holes. Sun and wind dry the greens out making them faster. I would recommend coming to psst this course anytime!
MoreGreat course now that they completed the back 9. No GPS marks or yardage for the back yet due to Covid. Still a great place to play. I suggest getting out and playing before the back 9 ends up covered with homes. Lots of crazy breaking greens, so bring your putting A game!
MoreIf you are a good player and are looking for something special and tough, come play at Plantation Lakes. The course plays much longer than the listed yardage. The bunkering is outrageous and you need to be precise with all your shots. The greens are firm and undulating. There are a bunch of short par 4s that are tricky and tough. Holes 2,3,15 and 17 are long difficult par 4s where par is like making birdie. The conditions and staff are excellent. Cant wait to come back
MorePlayed today with my father-in-law and my son. Course was in phenomenal shape, tee to green. Everything was clean, fairways were generous, and greens were fast. All the staff we encountered were friendly and easy to deal with. A hidden gem, well worth the trip from OC! Will be back!
MoreThe course it self is very well managed. Excellent course in general...but in the bunkers. Sand is used "very sparingly". Just count on adding more strokes on your card. 😕
MoreFist experience was not good at all. My sister and my brother in law ordered catfish. it had a lot of bones and had skin on it. Anyone that knowscatfish knows it does not have a lot of bones solid meat and you have to skin catfish. Told the waitress and she talked to the chef. Apparently she doesnt know her fish either. And said that the box said catfish so rite always we it was not fresh but frozen. We also told her that we have fished catfish and cleaned them so we know what we were talking about. She apologized and gave us a free round of drinks but they had no dinner. Few other things wasnt the best. Went back last night had a decent meal. Although my husband fried oysters were not the best. Prime rib very good friend got meatloaf he said it was really good. Guess well keep trying till the get it rite.
MoreI had dinner at the new restaurant at our clubhouse last night and would like to share my experience. Before I begin, I have been a restaurant manager , chef, waiter, expediter and have many years of restaurant experience.I went there with an open mind, knowing they are new would have some growing pains to iron out.We ( 2 of us arrived at 5:15 and the place was virtually empty, with a few people at the bar and only one table occupied. The staff was in a meeting so the bartender seated us in the booth of our choice. The menu is varied in selection and price, ranging from a $14 sandwich to a $28 entrée.After the meeting adjourned, we were greeted by our server, Candice. She was friendly and professional. We chose the Salmon BLT ( $14 sandwich with French fries. ( We had a choice of coleslaw but Candice said the coleslaw was made with brussels sprouts, so we passed on that idea ).I chose the roasted half chicken with mashers and mixed veggies ( $23 with a salad included. So far so good. When the salad arrived it was not good. The greens were wilted and dry and the cucumbers had started turning brown. ( See Pic )WE brought this to the managers attention and he agreed that should never have been served. We were offered another, but declined. Our server said the salads are pre made and stored in the walk-in. To me , this is not acceptable at this price point. Salads should and could be made fresh upon order. After a bit our main course arrived and a young assistant server asked who had the " half roasted chicken ", we laughed and corrected her and she laughed, meaning a roasted half chicken. The salmon was good, cooked perfectly with no issues. The bacon was slightly over cooked, but no big deal. Bacon is better over cooked than under cooked after all.My chicken was cooked thoroughly and was juicy and tender, well seasoned, no issues with that.Heres where things turned for me.The mashers were cold, not warm, but cold. ( I put a dollop of butter on the potatoes to prove a point a little later on. )My meal was served in a bowl, instead of on a platter and the juices from the chicken soaked the veggies and made them soggy. Vegetables should be served crispy. I feel a platter would have been the better choice. I didnt eat them as they just didnt look appetizing and tasted like chicken with no flavor. After some time, Candace checked on us and I showed her my mashed potatoes with the butter still in one piece having not even started to melt because of the cold mashers. She offered to replace them, but again, we declined. It was 18 minutes before she checked on us again and I asked for a small box and the check. It was 22 minutes later when she brought the check.Overall, the place is nice, clean and has a country club type feel but I feel some things were done to "look nice" and not practical. The bowl my meal was in for example. Also, the bowl makes it almost impossible to rest your knife on the sides. The knife keeps falling in the food or off the side, not practical.I politely pointed out these things to the manager and he agreed the food was not indicative of the menu prices. But offered no comp or discount. ( a free dessert for example )The dress code is not enforced to the country club type level reflecting on the menu prices. For example, while most folks there were dressed in "golf attire" or better, one family was in sweats with camo ballcap on backwards and children running around the dining room. I dont expect that in an upscale country club type atmosphere at those menu prices.I know it is new and there will be issues and we will go back after a bit to try the lunch offerings.
MoreWhile only 9 holes are in play at present, this is a beautiful course that is very challenging yet is fair. Staff is very nice too. Really enjoyed the round!
MoreWonderful 9 hole course at this time with 9 more holes in the future. Nice greens and added bounce of practice balls for driving range before you play. Could do without the tons a geese that were on the course this particular day
