My first time, food was realy good large portions. Could not believe how inexpensive they were for what we got. Service outstanding. Will be back.

Food was absolutely delicious. The chips were fresh and warm. Salsa was flavorful- Im sure they tone down the spice but it had a little kick. Cheese sauce was the correct consistency and flavorful as well. Portions were very fair for the price and the main dishes were all awesome!Service was prompt and friendly throughout.

My wife and I ate here earlier today, weve ate there before with no issues, today however was the first bad experience. I ordered a California burrito which came out with cold meat, my wife had the ground beef burritos, her meat was warm but not hot. When I told the waitress mine was cold, she did nothing about it, simply walked away. Dont ever complain when the food is cold while trying to pay your ticket for food that you didnt eat as you will be met with the old guy with glasses acting like hes a puffed up wannabe bouncer, maybe he is the owner, I do not know. You are faced with aggression and bullied while leaving. I do not recommend eating here from now on.

This place is awesome!! NO MASKS!!! FINALLY a place with common sense!! And the food is amazing. Large portions, good margaritas and delicious salsa! Glad we were turned away from the other Mexican restaurant for not being a sheep! We are coming here from now on!!!!

Great food and service! I had the shrimp chimichanga and it was amazing! Rice and beans are authentic and love the margaritas. My husband and I will definitely be coming back! Best mexican food we have had in a while.

Mason City doesnt lack for choices when it comes to Mexican cuisine, but Plaza Morena is our favorite. A wide variety of choices, excellent margaritas, and an always friendly staff keep us coming back.

1st time there and the food was awesome 👌. Ill be going back for sure 👍.

Upon being seated after standing and waiting for at least 15 minutes.. I was told to come and thought I would be seated but then told no booth.. but then I saw a booth and reluctantly the server took me there but the table had white paint splattered and I asked him to clean it off not knowing it was paint.. he brought my chips n salsa then sprayed my table with good on it... this server was very rude and in the end I walked out after sitting and waiting wayyyy too long.

Had delivered by Doordash and the food was cold and they didnt send the tortillas with the fajitas. The jalapeno poppers were soggy and my wife and I agreed that the food was bland. Also, every other Mexican restaurant we have ordered from sends chips and salsa. Plaza Morena does not. Weve had their food twice and were displeased both times. Will not eat there or from there again. We will stick with Plaza Mexico.

Excellent excellent food and service!! Food was made fresh and made fast! Extremely large portions! The margaritas are BOMB!! The service was superior. The place was clean and smelled so good. Plenty of room and space. Multiple tvs. Would definitely recommend!!!!

The experience here was fantastic! My wife and I absolutely loved our meals, the staff was very professional, and the prices were more than fair. We had Las Palmas like two weeks ago and were very disappointed. Safe to say that Plaza Morena Campestre Grill will be our go to Mexican restaurant.

I absolutely love plaza morena! First time I ever tried them was in owatonna mn and the food was great there as well! Service has always been good prices are decent! Serving sizes are pretty dang good as well! Definitely recommend a stop at Plaza Morena!

I was impressed for my first time at Plaza Morena!The tortilla chips, and salsa was excellent, we also had the cheese dip.I ordered the chicken Pollo which was a grilled chicken breast, covered with cheese sauce, Spanish rice, refried beans, and lettuce, diced tomato, sour cream and flour tortillas.Very delicious and filling at a good price

I thought it was a wonderful place. The food was very tasty, plentiful and prompt. I am a vegan and I was Serve so very well.

Ordered wings for some reason... I said and I quote "chicken wings with bbq on the side and ranch" they come out 25 minutes later, even though there are 5 people sitting, and they were extremely sauced in bbq, were got a bowl of ranch and for some reason a bowl of French dressing not sure why. Wings were so overcooked it made me think they were cooked days before the dropped in the fryer again for 15 minutes... terrible. The fajita burrito with pork tasted like the pork was just boiled in water and my burger came with a burnt hamburger and a solid hard piece of battered cheese and the onion rings were black... inedible. This was the 4th time we have been here and this was the first time we have had a bad food experience, the last few times have been excellent but consistancy is very important in the restaurant world.

First time I was there the salsa tastes like chili, it was horrible. The food was good,but I was to get 3 burritos with my meal, and only got two. Service was okay but not like cancun. The second time was much better! The salsa was good, still not cancuns but better. Food was great, and service was good. Jose was very welcoming.

the food was great that I got anyway quesadilla filled with chicken ham and pineapple it was awesome... the waiting to pay is a whole diff thing but maybe next time it was busy...

Food was excellent as well was the service. Definitely better than Cancun. Will for sure be going back there again. Had the Chipotle burrito and was very happy with my decision. I definitely recommend it

We ate at Plaza Morena on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 around 4:45 pm. First off, the dining room is nicely decorated and fairly modern looking.My wife ordered the Vallarta Especial and I ordered some Tacos Al Carbon. The food was good. However, the food did not pop in your mouth; it did not make a statement. I’m not saying it was bland, but it lacked boldness.The waiter was fully fluent in English and was very cordial and attentive to our needs.If this is “Cancun” re-vamped, it’s missing the “Cancun” flavor.

Ehh, didnt live up to the hype. Service was slow and there was only 2 others tables in the place. One of which walked out before ordering food because they sat there 15-20 before they even took drink orders.

I Was Impressed with this Style of Mexican Restaurants as I am huge Fan of Tex Mex Mexican Restaurants like Carlos okellys, I have to Say that Plaza Morena takes the lead in Mexican Restaurants in Mason city.Plaza Morena Definitely Rivals Pasta Bella.The Chicken flautus bites was awesome, But I Noticed that the Burrito I had had way too Much Beans, (Which can get caught in your Throat and can cause Choking)But I Also I Should of requested Hold the Beans in my Burrito.I also loved the TVs, that You can see all the Sports Games While you eat, And Like pasta Bella I hope plaza Morena can get its own Buillding Someday, I will Be looking forward to seeing that. Great food, very friendly staff. Highly recommend!! Was my first time at this one. Will be back. Also they have locations in albert lea and owatanna. I have been to the albert lea plaza morena many times always great food and friendly staff.

Honestly I thought food was average. The food my wife and I ordered was bland, our cheese sauce had a hair in it, and the tablecloth was dirty with food from Lord knows how long. Tablecloths are nice looking, but not with food from past customers.The one bright side was our waitress was fantastic. She was efficient and friendly. Im glad so many other people liked this restaurant, and I hope it makes it, but our first experience gave us little reason to give it another try

I was surprised being from the west coast I really don’t care for the Mexican food in Iowa/Midwest usually have to cover it in salsas to add some flavor just very bland but nope didn’t have to tonight . We were impressed with the customer service , as we sat right away I’m assuming the manager of some sort apologized for their liquor license delay which is no big deal to us , never asked for refills but received them , didn’t feel like a burden , so friendly , just refreshing, fresh flavorful food. Definitely will be back very soon ,hoping there is something super spicy like habanero spicy they can add .
