Police R 4 in Chennai

S.I. Sampath of Traffic Investigation Wing attached to Pondy bazaar PS here on late night of 11 Feb. 2017 fleeced money from me in a minor accident case for no mistake of mine and acted completely partial/one-sided with the opposite party and refused to file an FIR for my complaint but was ready to accept his. He gave me no proper explanation. He refused to even preliminary investigate/question the opposite party or to see the traffic CCTV footage in the accident. Later threatened me to come to police station saying Ill be handled well.I had to forcefully shell out Rs.2000 by him and he forced me to sign a compromise letter - this becomes a key point in favor of him as I can no longer file a complaint against him or the incident because of that letter to his highers.Later when I checked in Vahaan site on the details about the opposite partys vehicle (TNU4404, Aravind R - photo attachedit had no valid FC, Insurance or even Tax. It continues to be so till this post of mine.I feel traumatized and disgusted even today when I think about it.Requesting all the litigants who step into any such PS to be fully aware of your rights and if anything is going wrong, immediately call and complain to the control room 100 or take it to the notice of the DC, JC or Ad.C, etc. from state police website. They will sure be people-friendly.You can also file an FIR in police portal. Need not plead or get cheated by certain policemen like these. Dont give any money or sign anywhere unnecessarily.Looking forward for the day when reforms takes place.

Public should be aware that Police are there to safe guard them . With my personal experience with Pody Bazzar Police station recently on a theft complaint in my house ,I just want everyone to know that they are set of of high core professionals working there. I really appreciate the way they handled my case. Hats off to the Si and his team .
