Stunning location and views (enhanced by glorious weather), genuinely friendly welcome, relaxed and informal atmosphere, comfortable and cosy, delightful staff and excellent food. Well be back!
We celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary with an incredible meal in the restaurant. This is an absolute gem of a place. Amazing service, food, drink and stunning views of Abersoch beach.
Family run hotel, that doesnβt let a family with children dine with them, very disappointing!
Had a lovely dinner, good service, beautiful spot.
We had a Sunday roast, highly recommended. Wonderful food and staff. We are going back, assuming we book early enough.Thank you
Excellent service, fantastic foodAttentive staff.
Fabulous atmosphere and delicious food. We were made to feel very welcome. Thank you for a lovely evening π
Lovely hotel and food in a great location. A very quiet spot with a pleasant walk down to the beach. Nice swimming pool too.
Lovely place, very welcoming staff
First visit and cannot wait to return!. Next time to stay over.Setting just perfect, staff welcoming and incredibly efficient, food freshly prepared and portions generous.A hidden gem.
Second visit in a week, very welcoming, superb food and lovely panoramic scenery. Well recommended. A little tricky to find but easy if you ignore Sat Nav and follow the four well placed Porth Tocyn Hotel signs after leaving Abersoch.
The staff, food and setting are definitely 5 star
Wonderful meal,with good service.
Very nice lunch from a good menu. Always a warm welcome from a family run Hotel. When the sun is out the views are wonderful. Overcast today, but did not distract from a great time
Nice food and service... view was amazing
Excellent lunch best views and value in Abersoch.Highly recommend.
Love this place. Wonderful location for views, walks and exploring Llyn. Friendly staff and cosy rooms create a relaxed stay and the food is excellent.
Beautiful view and thats where it ends.Warm welcome.Food bland we considered leaving after the starters. Mains awful under seasoned my eight year old produces better food. When asked about out meals I said constructive criticism tasteless, waitress replied oh sorry!!Overpriced over rated go to Tremfan Hall
Went for lunch with my partner just before restrictions for eating inside relaxed on a return journey from Anglesey, we sat outside, although the weather wasnβt the best, comfortable and covered seating with stunning views out to the sea, very picturesque, as always a warm welcome from the Fletcher-Brewer family, we both had fantastic meals and the service impeccable, I had the steak ciabatta sandwich, the meat and veg was cooked to perfection and tasted fantastic, the chips great too, I then had the chocolate mousse for pudding, wow that is something else, my partner had the fish finger sandwich then Eton mess for pudding that both weβre apparently great too. Highly recommend, thank you Henry, Kelly and family, we will be returning again hopefully soon π
Theres a sign at the entrance saying open to non residents for coffee, lunches, dinners, etc. And the picture on their website shows people outdoor dining. So staying nearby I went to enquire about eating dinner there tonight outside. I was told they are only doing indoor dining for residents of the hotel. Go figure!
Fantastic! Old style welcome & service with wonderfully tasty food. Afternoon tea & Sunday lunch are highlights.
Excellent service, food and drink and all at reasonable prices and with a sensible approach to the Covid19 restrictions. An excellent hotel for a relaxing break.
Picturesque location. Lovely food and very friendly staff.
Brilliant location with sea and mountain views. Very comfortable country hotel in a traditional style. Staff are all excellent - very friendly and efficient. The food is first class with a different menu each evening. We will certainly return in the near future.
The food was really great, lovely service and amazing views! Would absolutely love to return!
We have been visiting the Porth Tocyn for many years such a lovely welcome and fantastic food and views, itβs first class but yesterday they excelled themselves after the wind wiped out parasol and table the staff where quick to rectify the situation even though it was through no fault of there own more an act of God. It was a special visit as we wanted to show my dad our favourite place. Heβs 88 and sadly not in the best of health. He was blown away pardon the pun but by your kindness and care. We really canβt thank you all enough. Not what you needed in these very difficult times but weβll continue to support you throughout. Please thank all the staff especially the lovely Irish lady who played the whole thing down and looked after my dad.Wishing you all the very best keep up the good work and stay safeAll our love Nicky Taylor
We were wearing our masks politely enquiring about lunch. Turned down because we havent booked and thats fine. However, the tone of the lady was so impolite that Im not sure its a top restaurant at least in manners. No attempt to be nice. unwelcoming place. Nothing comparable to an italian restaurant experiance. I doubt that it has been inspired by Italian, French or Japanese restaurants at least in manners. I lived in Japan, Im Italian and this is not how you convince a customer that you really care about food in the first place. unbelievable.
Another excellent evening at the Porth Tocyn. We have been regular visitors, particularly to the restaurant, for the past 12 years. The food is always first class and the welcome warm and friendly. The setting is stunning and the dining room welcoming and cozy. A visit to the Porth Tocyn is very special to us and is always looked forward to. Highly recommend! 08/08/20
My wife and I were guests at a Golden Wedding celebration at Port Tocyn Hotel. Excellent in all respects. Superb meal served by attentive staff. Management very welcoming.
Only stopped off for lunch, remembering the hotel from years agoThe lunch was superb the staff very friendly Eill definatly be back next year to stay
Gorgeous hotel and setting. We had a lovely lunch outside with incredible views.
Weve just been for a lovely dinner, such nostalgia visiting this lovely place. Great ambience and service but such a shame to see it less than half full (in peak week of the season and when every other restaurant was fully booked in the village). The best thing was that we felt really young being there compared to the average age of 70-80! Will go back again but probably not for 3 or 4 years, hopefully by then it will then have been modernised (less dark wood, better lighting, less creaky tables and less clutterto be something timeless that doesnt just appeal to people over the age of 70. We want you to evolve into something amazing (again). With new leadership, be bold, evolve but dont loose the uniqueness that you have. At some point, youll need to decide whether to keep focussing on the over 70s or whether you change and meet and deliver on the wants of those under 70 - you probably cant do both and survive in the long term. Heres hoping you make those changes...
A lovely meal with the family on a sunny August evening! Plenty of options to choose from including vegan and vegetarian at a reasonable price and fantastic service from staff.
Great Hotel, Staff and lovely food in a fantastic location with great views
Very welcoming and efficient staff. Lovely atmosphere. Excellent food. Very good value for money.Stunning views!!!
We only came to the restaurant for food, we where very well looked by the staff, the food was amazing!!!!! The Venison was divine ππ»ππ»
Truly amazing - owner Nick is a gentleman who welcomes you whole heartedly and makes you feel very at home. His son Henry is a chip off the old block too - charming & attentive to all guests needs.Food is exquisite. The views are breath taking.Out door heated pool is gorgeous to relax around and our children loved it.Well worth a visit - No an absolute must
This is a real gem, we have stayed here many, many times. Lovely setting, great food and great atmosphere. Owners are lovely people with a friendly welcoming manner
We stayed here for a weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel is in a fantastic location just outside of Abersoch with direct access to the fantastic coast path from the hotel. Nick and Louise are charming hosts backed up by excellent staff. The room had wonderful sea and mountain views and the food was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Im sure well be back.
The Porth Tocyn is well located and near one of of the most beautiful beach in Wales. The hotel bedrooms are nice and cosy. Ask for the ones with the views. The restaurant is serving very nice food. It s also the starting point for some breathing seaview while following the sea path walks
A lovely family owned and run quirky hotel with fine food and the best situation in Abersoch.
Nipped in here for lunch, amazing view of the sea and mountains and meant we could sit in the sun βοΈ very tasty food. Short but lovely walk down to the beach front too. Plus very friendly staff!! I had the fish of the day which was absolutely fab, followed by a very very tasty apple crumble.
Lovely place. Really friendly staff.Walk nearby.πΆ friendlyMenu looks nice too
Havent stayed at the hotel for a couple of years but everything as good as usual.Staff very good, excellent well priced wine list. The hotel is right on the coastal footpath and so very easy to walk from there either towards Porth Ceriad with good views of the St tudwals Islands or to Abersoch along the beach. Yesterday Porpoises to be seen below the cliffs ! The oink oink breakfast sausages much recommended ,the deviled prawns (for a savoury desert much discussed .The weather provided fantastic. A great two night break .Thanks to all.
Close to town, close to beach. Pleasant surroundings and a very traditional hotel.
Great hotel, lovely views over the bay and fabulous meal last night. Worth every penny! πππ
Amazing hotel, beautiful views exquisite food a try gem
The porth Tocyn has a beautiful view over the bay and the restaurant is extremely good
To go to bed at night to the lights of Criccieth and Harlech shimmering 17 miles across the bay and to wake up to Snowdonia slumbering beyond, in a botanical paradise that does full English breakfast ... what more do you want?!
Very eccentric hotel that has grand buffets every Sunday. Jolly good food.
