My wife and I ate at Punjab Tandoori Grill this evening and we have mixed emotions about our experience. The service could have been better. Our server lost our ticket right after we ordered and it was in her pocket the whole time. Since it was our first time, we had questions and our server really couldnt answer them. The food overall was very good and we had samosas, butter chicken, goat curry, roti and buttered nan bread. The butter chicken was not up to expectations. Vic the chef & owner did come to my our table to apologize for the wait and the server problems. We will return in the near future to try other dishes.
Very friendly , love the food and experience we have every time we come to eat ! Amazing outstanding customer service absolutely my favorite Indian restaurant.
This is the best Indian food in Yuba City. Freshly prepared and authentic. The staff is great and prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.
This place has such a good variety of tasty Indian food. So far I’ve tried their malai chicken, chili chicken and the garlic naan bread. Both chicken dishes have been so flavorful and so tender. Vick, the owner is so pleasant and nice to talk to. On top of all that their kitchen is immaculate! Clean from top to bottom-Plumbing Doctor did some work there and mentioned it. Try this place out, you won’t be disappointed!
Ate there in July, food was delicious, kids loved it too!
Yesterday I came to visit this restaurant and was confused on what to get. The Lady 👱🏻♀️in the front recommended some of the best dishes like malai chicken😍and many more dishes she recommended me to get it..I’ve eaten!… The all dishes are very awazing❤️ and very Tasty😍....Everything was perfect staff is very friendly and helpful..❤️I am super excited to visit this place again! I Love it😍❤️
Friendly service and Delicious food. Every dish was flavorfull and we will definitely be returning!
The food was really wonderful and the service was impressive. Door Dash made a mistake on our order and Punjab Tandoori handled it, dealing with DD and having them fix the issue. I cant wait to visit the restaurant next time and try more dishes!
The food was excellent, best Indian food I have had in a long time. I highly recommend trying the food here.
Found ourselves in Yuba City yesterday, noticed this got good reviews, and decided to try to ourselves. The reviews are well deserved, the food was excellent, we ordered vegetarian dishes (we are not practicing vegetarians ourselvessaag tikka masala and dal makhani, garlic naan and basmati rice. When we said we wanted spicy, the waiter gave us a doubting look, but didn’t warn us off. The food was amazing, such great flavors. The chef came out of the kitchen to ask if the spice level was good (it was!), very charming. Service was excellent. Highly recommended.
Best Indian place in town! Great service and they make you feel very welcome! I was watching their TV and was introduced to a indian rapper name Sidhu. Sadly he just passed away recently. Overall, awesome place, my new hot spot for indian food!
I have gone to lots of Indian restaurants in bay area and generally I am disappointed by the quality of food. Punjab Tandoori Grill is an exception. The is AMAZING. It reminded me of good food back home in India. Its so good I would seriously drive 3 hours from bay area just to eat here again.
Very authentic and fresh Indian food. Must try the chef special, Malai chicken is so fresh and light.
The authentic food, beer, and atmosphere was amazing, Vic has an amazing place, great food, awesome place, food was just right, fresh, authentic, clean, just right, get here, and get your taste buds, and belly happy 😊
I am blown away by this amazing restaurant. I have traveled extensively and when I say this is the best Indian Restaurant I have ever had, it is definitely not an understatement. The owner of the restaurant is also the chef. Everything comes out hot and freshly cooked. Hands down the best tandoori chicken I’ve ever eaten. We had the Fish pakora, chicken tikka masala, the okra masala, and mixed vegetables. Everything was amazing. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. You will not be disappointed.
Great service! Very approachable and nice. Food is amazing especially when it’s extra extra spicy (just how I like it). Also the only Indian restaurant I’d like to keep going back to. It’s a must try!
Love the place and the food. Both this place --> Punjab Tandoori and Bombay Lounge have to be the best Indian food places I love to eat at and Ive been to many of them in different states.
Incredible food! We shared the chicken tiki masala, goat vindaloo, butter chicken, malai chicken, with some naan and rice. The prices were reasonable for the serving sizes and quality. Also, the staff was very friendly!
Clean establishment, friendly service and great food.
We live in an area with great Indian food. However, this is the best Indian food I’ve had. The Malai Chicken and Tandori Chicken are incredible dishes and the restaurant has a cool atmosphere to it. Definitely will continue to return and recommend this restaurant.
Vics the best, love his healthy cooking and he gives so much food. Had his Malai chicken, paranthas are HUGE! BUTTER chicken is so good!! If I could I lived closer I would be there, at least once a week.
Stopped in for dinner while in town for work. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Cooked fresh and the blends of seasonings were just so good. Our server was very friendly and helpful when suggesting food options. Try the mango lassi! Towards the end of the meal the owner/ chef came out to talk to us and was also very friendly. Loved this place, will definitely make it a point to come back!
Owner was super super friendly and everyone who was working as well. but most of all the food is probably the best indian restaurant i’ve been to.
Literally the best Indian food I have ever had. Sooooooo good. The ambiance is refreshing. And the goat curry is to die for. I could probably eat it every day. The portions are good. When you get your food, the portions look like not enough, but once you dig in you shortly realize you don’t need that much. It fills you up perfectly
Excellent food. Great presentation. Cold beers. Nothing better on a hot day.Butter chicken.Goat SaagMalai chickenFish PakoraGarlic NaanOnion KulchaGet it all. Highly recommend.
This place is delicious. I’ve tried many different indian food places but this place just hits the spot. I LOVE THE FOOD.COME HERE TO EAT DELICIOUSLY!!
One of the best North Indian food that I have tried since coming to the US. The person in charge is polite and prompt in his responses. Inclined to give 5 but seems like the they need to catch up with more resources to support the business with 5 star rating.
It was my 1st time trying Indian food and all I have to say is that it was amazing. I 100% recommend this restaurant 😊
Today, I ate at Punjab Tandoori Grill, mostly because of the positive Yelp reviews - and I was not disappointed. Without a doubt, this was the best Indian food I have ever eaten. It might have been the best food of any kind I have eaten. How you can get that many powerful flavors in a single dish, I dont know. Five stars for sure and I will be back.
***UPDATE****Ok, still totally AMAZING! Went back last night as our first meal in town while visiting my parents, and wow, this food is ridiculously good. I even got a few photos this time! Not of everything because, well, we couldn’t help ourselves ;Go here now!Pro Tip: if you are planning to dine in, arrive before 7pm. While they close at 8, they seat the last table at 7!EAT HERE NOW!Coming into town for the weekend, we knew we had to grab some Indian food. After reading a number of reviews and checking out photos, we landed on Punjab Tandoori Grill, and what a great choice we made!My boyfriend Abe called ahead and were told the kitchen would close in 30mins so we rushed out the door to grab a table. We walked in to an empty (thanks pandemicbut clean restaurant. The bubbling fountain at the entry was inviting and the sports game playing drew my boyfriend in to a table close up. A nice guy was helping someone with a pick up order but greeted us and invited us to take any table we wanted. We later learned his name was Vic. He was generous and friendly. Grabbing menus, we settled in while we waited the rest of our family to arrive. I have traveled extensively to northern India, and knew exactly what I was craving for dinner! The family meal was a great price and offered some of the dishes I was already planning to order. Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken, Samosas, & Naan. These are all a yes! After Vic recommended a few dishes, we added on the Goat Vindaloo and the added on the Dal. A few King Fishers were also ordered, then we sat back to watch the game, wait for our family and our food.Right away Vic brought out the Samosas, complete with tamarind and mint chutney. These 4 big beautiful samosas were steamy hot, and packed full of the traditional potatoes, peas and carrots. The spice mix was pure perfection, the BEST I have ever had. While we were distracted with mouths full of flavor, the tandoori chicken and butter chicken arrived. The Tandoori chicken was perfectly spiced, sitting top sautéed red bell peppers and onions, with a bit of lemon for brightness, great flavor that was not Overpowering. Crispy and tender, this melted in your mouth. The Butter Chicken dish was perfectly flavored and reminded me of my travels. No twist, traditional and filled with love. Chicken was delicate and moist. The chef brought us a taster of a dish he had recommended but that we didnt end up ordering, Malai Chicken. This chicken dish is top on our list for next time because it was so good! Our goat vindaloo was succulent, rich and packed with flavor, again just as it would come out of a momma’s kitchen.Just as we finished our 4th basket of naan, the chef brought out a small plate of Fish Pakora for us to try! What a nice gesture! The fish was again perfectly seasoned and cooked exactly as you would want it, soft, flaky and warm. Our kids could not get enough of these dishes, and asked if we would come back tomorrow! We ended up talking more with Vic and his father came out of the kitchen as well to share with us as well. They are literally the nicest people who shared their family recipes with us tonight. We were so full and so happy that we picked Punjab Tandoori Grill for our family meal tonight! If you are looking for a fantastic dinner served with love by great people, this is THE PLACE!*no photos of share because we ate this amazing food way too fast to get a picture in!
Some of the best Indian food out there. The ingredients were so fresh and the chef made everything from scratch. The samosa combo was insanely tasty! Everything else was delicious as well!
Best Indian food in town!!! Service is absolutely wonderful and friendly!!!The butter chicken is beautifully spiced, the naan is soft (the garlic one is my favorite), the samosas are crispy and filled to the MAX and so flavorful, and the rice is perfection. I eat here as often as my budget will allow. 100/10 would recommend.
First time having Indian food. I was not disappointed! I had the chili chicken and it was amazing!! The owner was kind enough to tone it down for me so it wasnt to spicy. Thank you for a great meal.
The owner was our server and he went out of his way to make sure we felt welcomed and had a terrific dining experience. The food was really great. Tandoori wrap and the samosas were both flavorful. Highly recommend this place. An Indian family of >8 was walking in as we were exiting. Authentically nice people. Authentically awesome food.
This place blows my socks off!! All the aroma and flavors are out of this world!! Very friendly service!! Beautiful dishes. The food here is art!
Hands down some of the best Indian food i’ve had! came out fresh and Hot… flavor was not disappointing either. I’d recommend everyone to try this place at least once cause you’ll go back. oh, let’s mention how clean the place was and waitress and cooks service was great!
This place was bomb dot com! And the service was excellent. I will certainly be eating there again. The server Pria (sorry if I spelled that wrongwas very kind and attentive.
GREAT FOOD! We had the veggie pakora that where flavorful and crunchy w/ yummy sauces. The tandoori chicken was some of the tender and juiciest I’ve ever had. It had a yummy spicy and the seasoning was throughout the meat, excellent. We ordered the butter chicken mild but still had wonderful rich flavor and a slight kick. They offered us a sample of the Malai Chicken (last pic), which the chef called their “signature dish” (something not offered at other Indian restaurantsand it was fantastic. It had a slight lemony flavor, juicy (not spicyand quite delicious. Definitely will have to order it next time. The Malai chicken is perfect for both Indian food lovers and reluctant goers (like my husband who enjoyed it greatly).
Wow... Great place! From getting a nice greeting when you enter the restaurant to fast service and the food is Wonderful! Im coming back to eat here soon!
We recently moved from NY to Yuba City for work and were looking for an Indian restaurant to fill our craving. Parents were visiting, and 4 of us decided to come here.We met Vik, down to earth owner and chef who grew up in yuba city.We had his tandoori chicken, buttered chicken, chicken saag, goat curry, and 2 orders of garlic naans.Tandoori chicken was our favorite. Vik says he marinates them the night before with 14 spices. Let me tell you the chicken melted in our mouths, bursting with intricate flavors.Goat curry was stood out. It was delicious with amazing flavors and meat tender.Vik was awesome enough to sample his malai chicken, which he said is one of the most popular dishes. It did not disappoint and will def come back to order that in the future.Happy we found our go to Indian place in yuba city!
Greeted at the open door by the chef, who seated us, inquiring if this was our first visit. It was 12:00 noon. first moments of opening. Our lovely server kept our water glasses full. We ordered the butter chicken, and tandoori chicken wraps. The steaming hot wraps came in foil which retained the heat. The flavors were wonderful I then ordered a tziki salad, as the spices were a bit hot for my taste buds. With the yogurt in the salad drizzled on top of my butter chicken wrap the meal became perfect! I dove into the food before I got a proper picture. But I posted when I did take. The chef brought out a sample of another entree for us to try, so we know what to order our next visit! The sample is also excellent. He came back later after we enjoyed the sampling and showed us on the menu the item informing us we could order it with salad or on rice. Well, I know what Im having my next trip! The restaurant was clean. the bathrooms were clean. The atmosphere feels light and modern. There is plenty of distance between tables and in the aisles for social distancing. The owners endeavored to give us a memorable experience, even for a common lunch.
My husband & I tried Punjab Tandoori for the 1st time and I am so glad that we did. This restaurant is the best Indian food in town! The food is so tasty and fresh! The restaurant is spotless and clean. The staff is hospitable & friendly. I could go on and on. I recommend Punjab Tandoori 100% and will definitely be returning. I wish I would’ve taken more photos, the food was beautiful & presentable.
This place is amazing!!! I got the malai chicken salad and it is definitely my new favorite dish! Absolutely delicious!!!

Ok, Ok, Ok! Im a Huge Indian Food fan! (Might be because I am Middle Eastern. But lets just say I have standards.. This was by far one of the BEST Indian Food Restaurants I have ever been to! We ordered Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Eggplant Masala, Daal Makhani , Samosas, Garlic Naan and of course it includes Rice. Our server which is the cook/owner brought us a sample of the Malai Chicken (Which was so good we placed an order of it to go!We gladly ordered so much so we had plenty to take home and I am so happy we did. All the chicken dishes we had were made with white meat chicken. Nothing was greasy and it was just a very pleasant experience. We will definitely be back and we live an hour away!

Hands down the best chicken Malai tikka that Ive ever had! This is a nice little spot close to my house where I love to go get food from. The owners are really nice and friendly and take pride in what they do. The restaurant is great for a small party and they can even accommodate your catering needs.
