So sad to see on their website that they are permanently closed. My wife and I have eaten here over a 100 times over the last 9 years. Not sure what happened with anyone that didnt like their meals but for us its been our go to Indian restaurant and we are very sad to see it go. The last time we ate from here was amazing like always and I wish I had known it was going to be our last time. Again so sorry to see you go Qazis. You will be greatly missed.
Have had Indian food in Wash D.C., NYC, Baltimore, London, Hong Kong, Korea and India (i.e. Bombay, Delhi, Ahmedabad). Interestingly, the best Indian I have ever had was in Canary Wharf in London. I have also had a lot of home cooked Indian meals throughout my life. I feel bad for saying this but I have to be honest to my fellow Seattlites: this is by far the worst Indian food I have ever had. Not sure how they stayed in business for this long. Hope a better alternative opens up in Fremont/Seattle to fulfill my quarterly Indian cravings.
Let me tell y’all this place is beyond delicious 🤤 everything I ordered honey had me feeling love inside my tummy the Garlic Naan bread and Vindaloo and Caesar salad some of the best food I ever had !!! I ordered from DoorDash .
Ordered food using Doordash. The food was sub-par and this restaurant wont last if they had any competition. The Rogan Josh was orange in color and lacked flavor. Probably they used the same curry as Chicken Butter Masala or something - assuming the customer isnt aware of what they are serving. The Pasanda paneer curry was horrible, it was undercooked, the onions/garlic didnt blend in with the spices and was leaving a weird taste in the mouth. The biryani was not really biryani, it was colorful rice- Whoever is cooking has no idea what Indian food is like. The portions are also very small compared to other Indian restaurants.Seattle people stop being naive and stop ordering from this place, there are better places than this!
It pains me to write a negative review for a restaurant I have frequented for 7+ years, but my latest experience with them really made think twice about ever coming here again...I called in to order our regular items. They did not tell me the total price before getting off the phone, but I thought nothing of it. Low and behold when I picked it up, the price was 20% more than I was expecting. A normally $50 order turned into a $65 order. We usually get the same order every time so I am very aware of what the normal price is. After I mentioned how high it was, they said it was the "online" price. I tried to explain to them that I literally called in to the restaurant to make the order - no good. I asked for an itemized receipt and they refused.I had a hungry, pregnant wife waiting for food and I wasnt about to come home empty-handed so I begrudgingly paid.My advice to Qazis: update your website to reflect the "online" prices (aka new priceand dont penalize the folks who try to bypass the delivery/processing services that take substantial cuts from the order. You have lost a loyal a customer who probably has spent >$2,000 over the years at your restaurant. The food is good as long as you know what to get. It can definitely be hit and miss - which is why we always get the same thing.
I dont bother to give anybody bad rating, but this one too much. I was excited for this Doordash order. The idli was half cooked and I could taste the batter, and paneer paratha was chewy like twizzlers. The only thing that was decent was sambhar, but I have made better one before. I wont recommend this place to anyone, sorry.
I have been there many times, all of the food is top notch. The founder and chef has a very long list of accomplishments and training. My Indian wife loves the food and weve never felt the need to find anywhere else. I jump at the chance to go there at every opportunity.
Friendly staff gave me good recommendations. The fresh lassi was delicious - try it out! The curry and naan were great and for a fair price.
The food was absolutely delicious, and the customer service was wonderful. The Naan I was served was some of the freshest I had ever had, and it made a difference in the meal. Highly recommend dining in here.
Lots of options for everyone! Some Mediterranean fare! Nice to be able to get a salad with my dinner. Spinach pakora was wonderful. Came with tomato and mint chutneys but no tamarind which was a little disappointing. My compatriots loves their dishes. One had jaipuri lamb and one had chicken manchurian. I’m amazed that I could get tofu in my curry! I’ve never seen tofu in an Indian restaurant. I personally love this. Lots of meat options: beef (not seen in Hindu-owned restaurants), goat, lamb, chicken, paneer, & tofu! We all had a lovely meal. They ordered the spicy naan and really enjoyed it. There are not a lot of Indian places in Seattle so it’s great to see one of this caliber in Fremont.
So dirty kitchen, I wanted to use toilet, it was next door to kitchen. I looked to inside the kitchen and what I saw. It was terrible kitchen of my life. Everything dirty on the floor, so disgusting. No one must eat food there. Where is inspectors?
The vegetable appetizer plate was so salty I could barely even eat it. The palak tofu was bland, they gave me heaps of rice but not much palak tofu and they didnt include the chutneys. Do NOT recommend.
Authentic and very tasteful Indian food. We tried their chicken tikka, chilli chicken and dal soup and everything turned out to be really tasty. If you’re into spicy food then order food at a spice level of 4 because their spicy means spicy.
Great selection including a variety of vegetarian dishes from N. and S. India. Good service. Amazing prices! ( considering average Seattle restaurant prices with high quality food)
Enjoyed the food here. Small Indian restaurant with a huge menu. Small Mediterranean section for a little something different. Although we were the only ones in the restaurant we had to wait a bit for our food but everything is very fresh and delicious. If you are ordering paratha and expecting yogurt and pickle on the side (like most Indian restaurantsyou won’t get it. Be sure to order something on the side for paratha. The mango lassi was different but I really enjoyed it.
Nasty and very long waiting time. If you want good Indian food, go to the Taste of India. I should have known before I went in because it is Saturday in the middle of lunch rush, and they had no customers...
Wow! Yum! A great variety of excellently prepared northern and southern Indian dishes. I particularly love their extensive lists of tandoori, naan, and lassi options. Having a light lunch of soup and spicy naan really hits the spot!
Ok small place to get Indian food in middle of Fremont. Buffet had limited options but service was good and food tasted good. Nothing fancy, plain old good Punjabi food.
Have been twice and each time the excitement of getting hard to find dishes (they have a huge menu with both North and South Indian cuisinehas ended in some degree of disappointment. The flavor is ok, not great. Dishes are small. Wait time after ordering is very long, even when there are only 3 other tables at dinner. They do make great naan though.
Nothing above average. Food was ok. We ordered appetizer platter. Only samosa was worth trying. Their parantha was good but naan was too thick and butter masala had no flavors.
Pretty disappointed.Ordered three different dishes and neither taste that great, and price was it was expensive for the quantity you get.I ordered off a food app, and the instructions given were also not followed. I don’t think I’d give this place a second try.
I never thought that Id ever be a person who writes restaurant reviews, but Qazi has forced my hand. This place is just the worst. They have no concept of seasoning/flavoring. Ive never eaten food that was so painful spicy while simultaneously having no flavor/taste. I really like spicy food and I ordered a 3/5 on their scale and my dish resembled the bets I have with my friends when we get a bit sadistic. Spare yourselves!
Our first experience here was good, not great, but good. We had a coupon and it turned out that the one thing we ordered wasnt covered by the coupon. Oh well, they good was pretty good. The second time we brought the coupon back and showed it before the meal, and ordered things that would work. They took the coupon and said that they would apply it at the end of the meal. The meal was MUCH spicier than we intended to order, even after confirming how comfortable with spiciness we were, and I realized later that they didnt apply the coupon and charged us full price, even though the coupon had cost me $10... I figured this was my fault for not checking the bill, so I let it go. Im really very forgiving, I think...NOW, we ordered some delivery tonight. We ordered two vegetarian curried dishes and some rice. It was estimated to be delivered in 45-60 minutes. 60 minutes later there was a knock at the door. The driver confirmed our 2 dishes and rice, I gave him a generous tip and he drove away. Moments later I opened the bag and discovered that it was filled with two chicken dishes and some naan... I immediately called the restaurant and they said, after speaking to the driver, that the driver would be back with OUR food momentarily. The driver was back in 10 minutes empty handed... AND he took the food that was delivered earlier... He said hed bring our food back in 10 minutes. I called the shop again, frustrated, and the shop said that they didnt know why he did that. They offered NOTHING for our trouble except that the manager would personally deliver our food in 15 minutes, now 20 minutes after the drivers estimated time... The manager did not show up. The driver came back with our food now 2hrs late. They food was good, not great. We wont be ordering from Qazis again...
This place is good for various types of Dosa. Although sometimes they bring the Dosa already cold and then it loses its taste. Second problem is they provide very very small quantity of sambhar. It is always too little for Dosa and they charge you if you ask for additional sambhar. The words thing is that they bring again very small quantity of sambhar when ordered for extra, and charge premium for that.
Had lunch buffet. Poor quality ingredients & low number of items. Samosas & desserts were good. Overall foos quality was poor. Chicken was par cooked. Ordered a tea, it was cold & awful. They must have prepared it in the morning & served it from a dispenser. Pathetic.
We had main courses, naan and a samosa starter with lassis. Everything tasted just wonderful! Awesome flavors, great selection and service. We were so happy and full, definitely come back!
Great menu variety, super service, and wonderful flavors!! We had chicken almond naan, an awesome curry, tandoori chicken (with outstanding vegetables!and veggie sandals as an appetizer. Their dipping sauce were tasty too. Highly recommend!
Ordered online. Delivery person was from the restaurant(not any 3rd party serviceand wasnt willing to come up to my apartment even when I explained why I cant come down. Rudely told me they are cancelling my order. Great job, I hope you flourish!
Its pretty standard Indian buffet. They bring naan bread to the table, not all you can eat. But on the plus side, they have really tasty veggie samosas which is fairly awesome
Horrible customer service! Basic 101 customer service is to stand & greet the customer, which the young punk kid at the front desk did not do. Instead he was sitting down & you could barely see the top of his head over the counter and he was more interested in trying to correct my prenounciation of the establishment rather than what he should have been doing, which is assisting me with an order that I was there to pick up for one of my customers. Than he gave me the order wrong, when the customer was very specific on how he needed his food. Than, when I went back to bring it to his attention, he was more interested in arguing the fact that the customer never gave them specifics on the order, again, instead of doing what he should have been doing, and that is fixing the customers order with a smile on his face. Than he brought back the food, I correct a 2nd time even after I even physically showed him the order on my phone. But he was more interested in trying to argue how I should be delivering food. I basically told him, have the food hot when I get here and in a nutshell, just worry about making sure the food taste good. Thats all this place needs to worry about. Yeah, but this place most definitely needs a friendlier person representing the company and assisting the customers.
GREAT FOOD!! Reasonably priced too. Staff was wonderful and knowledgeable
Tandoori chicken thighs were not fresh and not warm enough, although the plate was sizzling. Drumsticks were ok. In general no flavor. Wing were saggy over priced for six pieces. No taste and not fresh. Serivce not professional. Server refused to bring new plate for tandoori and had to eat with wings leftover bones. Tongs were carried from there their tips. Rice was ok. Over priced restaurant. I dont recommend.
The food is average. Nothing great about the place.Visitors coming here should only expect to moderately satisfy their cravings for Indian food. The non-veg curries are the same for all the dishes.Their kheer and raita is good.
I have eaten in different Indian restaurants and this is one of the best I have tried. Great food and fast service. Mango Curry was one of the most delicious Indian meals we have ever eaten. We will certainly go back here.
LEGIT food, and thats coming from someone who is super picky with Indian food. I asked for it "Hot" and they really gave me spicy. Super flavorful and perfectly cooked. The chutneys were spot on as well. My new fave spot.
I’ve been to Qazi’s twice now, once for lunch for the buffet and once for dinner, and I’ve been quite impressed both times. The buffet had a wonderful selection at a reasonable price. And the dinner portions were quite generous. Definitely some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had.
Good food, good service and excellent portions. I was a little off put by the number of menu items but all of them came out quickly and were hot. Definitely a place to go.
Qazis has GREATLY improved over the last couple of years. It has gone from a hole in the wall type of place to a place I would actually bring friends to. They open their buffet for lunch until 3pm for a very affordable price (around $12 per personand the food is amazing. If you have the patience to wait for them to make their awesome samosas (that everybody seems to fight overyoull absolutely get your moneys worth. The tables and chairs are clean all the time. So are the China and silverware. The only downside to me is they dont have a parking lot so if youre going there on your lunch break, prepare to look for street parking and walk to the restaurant.
Shared an early dinner (4pmwith 2 others. Food was delicious, atmophere was safe and friendly and clean. Best samosas we have ever had. Lots of selections, especially for vegetarians. Very reasonably priced. Would have liked a separate women’s bathroom. Definitely will return.
Horrible experience in grubhub delivery. My parents were visiting from India and we decided to order some good south indian cuisine including idli and sambhar dosa. On placing the order the delivery time showed as close to an hour so we waited for an hour until no updates came from grubhub and I decided to call the restaurant then. The guy was pretty courteous in assuring that the food is out of the kitchen and ready for delivery. So we waited for another half an hour and still no signs of life. Till this time the restaurant for closed and no one picked up the call and so I decided to lodge a protest by calling grubhub customer care. The lady there put me on hold for about 10 mins and replied that she got in touch with the manager and that he assured her that the delivery somehow got missed and the next guy is coming to pick up the same in about half an hour.We waited for another half an hour and out of pure frustration I again called grubhub and literally shouted on them about the issue. Now this time I get an answer that since the restaurant is closed there is no good way to track the delivery and out of pure apology we are giving you 20 bucks of coupons. I was like well what about the false promises that were made and more importantly the time at which you guys are informing me the same which was around 1130 in the night. Luckily we had some parathas at home to quench our hunger. The representative told me that they cant blacklist the restaurant and neither can they lodge a complaint expect for giving me those damn coupons.I just wished that I could sue the restaurant then and there so that they know how much pain I really felt by thier misdeeds, not to mention my parents who were waiting so much to have some good food in the night. The 1 that I gave here is with a minus though.
First off, I found some metal and plastic wire thing in my chicken and when I told and showed the owner all she said was "$***!" I came for the buffet, which is mediocre if Im being generous. They serve about 6 curries, lentil soup, papadams, some really sad looking salad from the night before, kheer and gulab jamun which are both overdone in texture and probably left over, and one dry chicken dish. There are also the standard chutneys, veggie pakoras, and veggie samosas, none of which are flavorful. Including the chutneys. Which is almost impressive. They do serve a fresh piece of naan, which is good, and they managed not to screw up the rice. So the best I can say is this food is mostly edible and the naan is fresh. But I wouldnt recommend it.
This restaurant offers north-Indian, south-Indian and Mediterranean cuisines. I usually get take-out from here and have been a great fan of their butter chicken curry, which is one of my favorites. Today, I tried the samosa chaat and the masala dosa and I think they could have both been a lot better. The Chaat was very bland and quite tasteless, and while the size of the dosa wasnt the authentic south-Indian masala dosa. The potato was too oily and didnt have salt.Probably not the best place for south-Indian food, but definitely great tandoori and north-Indian food.
We love this place. The food is amazing, family run, and it has become a weekly tradition. The portions are extremely generous, and a wide variety of clearly authentic Indian food. They know what they are doing.
Though there isnt a huge variety but its good to have limited choices since buffet food is generally wasted. Good food especially meatballs that has a real taste of butter 😋 I personally liked garlic naan and for dessert, tea and gulaab jaamun was the perfect combination. One suggestion Id like to make is to put some lively, entertaining Bollywood songs instead of just plain, bland music.
Ive had their buffet and regular menu and for me, the regular menu is where its at. The buffet is a bit mild (so if youre into that, youre set). It wasnt for me and was a little disappointed in the spiciness so I stick to the regular menu now. The service is great and is one of our staples.
This is by far my favorite Indian restaurant in the city. The reason, beside the friendly staff, delicious food, perfect location, inexpensive prices, is the cozy atmosphere which makes you feel like your at home with a friend cooking something delicious together.
Awful food. Never order a Biriyani here. Youll be given yellow rice (pulao). The staff would even try to justify that pulao = biriyani. Buffet lunch is mediocre too.
Food took an hour when we were told 40 minutes tops. When we asked if the food was late because it was busy, the driver said no and offered no other reason. The goat curry was tough and had lots of bones. The butter curry was good, but was more like Tikka masala than butter curry. Spice level was good and the order came with 2x the rice needed. Prices are too high for the quality.
Visit 1 - Dine-in - 3 Star:Food was okay - the biryani tasted more like pulav.Service was the main concern - the waiter and the owner have communication problems.Visit 2 - Delivery - 5 Star:Quick delivery and really good food. Difficult to believe it was same restaurant.
Ive been to Qazis a couple times and always found the food to be fair. Not good, not bad, just okay. My last visit was with coworkers during their lunch buffet. Now, to me a buffet allows you to try foods you wouldnt normally try and indulge on those you enjoy. This sentiment appears to be lost on the owners of Qazis. My coworkers and I ate about two plates apiece. We ate everything we took, with the exception of food that had been sitting at the buffet too long (too coldand food that was altogether unappetizing (too bland, etc.). When the bill arrived it had a suspicious $5 open food fee (The lunch buffet itself is $10). When we inquired to the server about the charge he said that "The Kitchen" had deemed we were wasting food and felt the need to charge us. When I asked to speak with someone from the kitchen the server shook his head no with a nervous grin. I explained that this was unacceptable and they will be losing money because any money we wouldve tipped is out in favor of this charge. He shrugged. So it goes. Meanwhile, we had placed an order to go for a fellow coworker back at the office once we were finished eating. Our order was brought out from the kitchen in a plastic bag and then left to sit on a random table for 5 minutes until one of their workers brought it to us. This isnt service, its a joke. In total we spent over $40 on lunch and they still felt the need to add a ridiculous $5 fee. If youre going to charge customers for their uneaten food, then why not give it to them to go? They paid for it, but youve destroyed the evidence and replaced it with an arbitrary fee. Buyer beware. Theres so much good food in Fremont, why settle?
